While the butterfly section is small it is magical. People need to be careful where they walk as butterfly's can even be resting on the ground. Saw a gorgeous Cairns birding butterfly, just beautiful. There is also a maze and dinosaur show foe the kids and cafe that serves delicious scones n jam and made to order wraps and sandwiches.
Went to the Butterfly House at Sawtell today with my two grandchildren. I haven't been for a couple of years and there have been many great additions. We love the butterfly enclosure and the playground area outside the Alice in Wonderland themed cafe.
The amenities are clean and even have dinosaur toilet paper holders.
We watched the Pinkie baby dinosaur show which was great and all the kids joined in the dancing.
There are peacocks wandering around the gardens.
Had a nice coffee too.
Definitely a fun way to spend a few hours while visiting Sawtell.
My husband and I thought we'd spend a morning here. And what an absolutely beautiful morning we had. From the divine scones in the cafe to the extremely informative butterfly keeper and everything in between, it was 5 star all the way. A top class experience and so much fun was had by us both.....thank you.
Such a beautiful forest - best place of the Great Ocean tour. It's so quiet to walk among these trees and leaves
The lady who was at the front counter was very friendly and funny. Our boy enjoyed the dinosaur shows. The butterflies were hiding out, but we did see some of them, and the cafe was lovely and quaint.
Once of the best place to see the heights of Nature. Calm and peaceful Environment on the walk inside the forest. Kids love it !!!
If you are interested in knowing facts about butterflies then this is a place to visit. We really enjoyed our visit. The ticket prices are on a bit higher side. There is a cafe that serves good food but again the prices might seem a bit higher. Ample parking is available on-site. Overall, a nice place to take your kids in Coffs Harbour.

Absolutely worth the drive. Road up can get quite narrow. Would recommend driving during the day. The rest of Binns road is a gravel road (about 10km) till great Ocean road
I recently visited the Coffs Harbour Butterfly House and had a good experience overall. The vibrant array of butterflies was truly captivating, creating a serene and enchanting atmosphere. The facility is well-maintained, providing a suitable environment for these delicate creatures to thrive.

The highlight of the visit was undoubtedly the opportunity to observe the butterflies up close and personal. The variety of species is impressive, and their vibrant colors make for a visually stunning display. It's a unique and educational experience that could be particularly engaging for children. The staff members were knowledgeable and eager to share insights about the different species, adding value to the visit.

However, the overall size of the Butterfly House might be a bit limited for some visitors, and those seeking a more extensive collection might find it relatively small. Additionally, the entrance fee seemed a bit on the higher side, considering the size of the facility. While it's understandable that maintaining a suitable environment for butterflies requires investment, the pricing could be a deterrent for some visitors.

On the positive side, the Butterfly House provides a peaceful escape into nature, and the educational aspect is commendable. It's a great opportunity for families with children to learn about these fascinating insects. The onsite cafe is a nice touch, offering refreshments and a place to relax after exploring the butterfly habitat.

In conclusion, the Coffs Harbour Butterfly House offers a delightful experience, especially for families and nature enthusiasts. While there are some areas for improvement, the positive aspects, such as the variety of butterflies and knowledgeable staff, make it a worthwhile visit for those interested in the world of butterflies.
Took about 45 minutes to view entire place.

The shows available to watch catered more to little ones than my teens.

Was not a fan of the scones with jam and cream from cafe, herbal tea was fine.
I had heard about this place but had never been here before. Yes, if you can believe it, this was my first time visiting the Mt Annan botanical gardens. What a beautiful area. Heaps more to explore. But for now, I'll just tell you about our visit to the Gardens cafe. Upon entering the cafe, we were shown to a table on the covered verandah. Menus and cold water were provided. Not long after our food and beverage orders were made, my coffee arrived. Only a few minutes after that, all our remaining orders arrived. Really prompt service!
I had egg benedict with smoked salmon & a cappuccino. Nice. The only criticism was that the knives supplied were quite blunt, which made consuming our meals difficult. Apart from that, all good. A lovely venue, clean, interesting views, tasty food, good coffee, and great service.
Beautiful park without alot of people. Easy paved hiking trail with great views and benches along the way. Chances to see Wallabies or Kangaroos. Nice clean picnic areas
Huge gardens with lots to see. Very quite on a weekday and can walk around for hours without meeting anyone. Not only you can see native Australian flora but we have seen kangaroos, red belly snake, parrots and white ibis. Will definitely be back during spring time.
Good place for a family outing and picnic. Compared to any other picnic spots this place is not anything extraordinary. The one way road often makes you go round and round. It would be good find a map of everything it has to offer. We could only see few shaded area and all of those were occupied we just went to have a picnic so my review totally based on a picnic and bbq spot not for people considering to visit for botanical garden perspective.
The place is quite beautiful in the afternoon. Great way to connect with nature. Great views of the lake from the top. Beautiful walking tracks , all around.Quite informative information board available near majority of the plants if you are interested in learning more about the different species. Plenty of parking and public toilets.
Very near to hopetoun waterfall. Very highted tree. You can also arrange small picnic with family and friends. spring also here . Unbelievable picnic spot. Hear is also public Toilet.

Very nice and beautiful. I didn't notice Amy rubbish. Way less busy than the East side equivalent at cement creek, but seems way smaller than East side. East side equivalent is structured, with all the trees lined up in specific order. But here in the otways it's Moree free form, with the trees following no particular order. I think there's pros and cons. The East side gives a sense of wonder cause you ponder how humans where able to design such consistent planting patterns for the trees. Whereas in otways you marvel more at how everything seems like how nature intended things to be, just natural and organic with no clear design, just mother nature doing her thing without interference. I like both for different reasons, but overall I prefer otways as I can explore and expect new things. East side it's all the same and novelty wears off quick.

This is one of the best attractions in Otway, I have only seen these trees in Warburton Victoria before. These trees are not as thick as in Warburton but still you will feel the beauty of these trees. These are tall majistick trees in the deep forest Its nature is everywhere so it is a great place to come and relaxing. Access via bins road just after hopetoun falls, no public toilet just a bench for rest. Very limited parking so you might have to park on the road, Don't pass away the bridge after this point as nothing after that, it's a gravel road from here and onwards.
Very well designed playground with attention to details regarding the theme. Farmyard.

Awesome picnic area. Great views from multiple areas.
Facilities area good.
Great value for money, well while tourist attraction for all ages. Spent time with the butterflies, talking to experienced individuals that shared insightful information about the butterflies when you engaged in conversation. Time spent going through the maze was entertaining as well.

The cafe had a delightful selection and the scones did not disappoint.

The dinosaurs were great to see, the dinosaur show was short and sweet.

The opening hours are limited so that might be something to be mindful of when planning to visit depending on how much time you want to spend at this attraction.

There are peacocks that roam freely around the property as well if you like birds!
This place is a testament to why Aussie nature is so great. You can drive up a hill to see over vast expanses of greenery. You get blazing sun and nice picnic spots. Toilets are surprisingly clean compared to the cities.

In fact, there was a wedding going on when I was here. Really adds to the grandeur of how it feel. Paper daisies are also quite special. Highly recommend to come here. And all this for free, I can’t believe it. I guess it is a bit far from the city.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I had the most amazing experience at the Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan! This place is a hidden gem in the heart of nature. The variety of plants and landscapes is truly breathtaking. Walking through the garden's lush paths and discovering the unique Australian flora was both educational and soothing. The staff is knowledgeable and passionate, providing excellent guided tours. The facilities are well-maintained, and the cafe offers delicious refreshments. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, photographer, or just looking for a peaceful escape, this garden is a must-visit. I can't wait to return.
I took my mum to see the paper daisy's today, they were stunning but the level of disrespect from tourist was heartbreaking, they would pick the flowers, jump the ropes & trample through the flowers just to get a photo. Security was doing their best but it was constant. One of the horticulturalists said they are never doing this again as there is so much love and work that goes into doing displays like this only to see it get destroyed in a day... Thanks flower tramplers! Way to kill it for everyone!! 😠
Very beautiful if you go at the right time. There are some rare and good varieties of flowers. There is a shop, cafe, toilets, picnic area, playground, and more.

The parking gets full very quickly but there's plenty of overflow parking. The cafe also had a long queue so we gave up trying it. The planted and well maintained areas are quite small compared to the whole botanical garden lands.
Spring is great time to visit Mount Annan /Botanical Garden. Great display of flowers. variety of native floral plants as well other ferns. Good amount of space to roam around , have picnic or just stay back and relax. Different adjoining gardens make this place interesting as well. beautiful landscapes to appreciate. toilet available. plenty of BBQ available in all gardens. plenty of parking available
We had a fantastic time at the Australian Botanical Garden in Mount Annan. It's not just a beautiful natural space but also great for families with kids. They have a wonderful kids' play area, perfect for a family outing and picnics. Plus, they even have barbecue facilities, making it a complete day out for everyone! And if you’re hungry, there is a dine-in for a delightful lunch experience.
Great playground 👍🏼 3 separate gazebos with their own BBQs, surrounding the equipment. Far enough apart that noone disturbs anyone else. Very clean and well planned. Lots of parking but the map takes you to the other side where there is only road side parking.
The kids could spend hours here easily 😊
Park located south West Sydney. Really nice place to do walks and have a picnic.

The park here is awesome so many paths and can even summit Mt annan itself.

With regards to the summit walk try to approach from Western side as the path is sorta safe. The eastern side isn't marked well and has a couple of orange cones at the entrance and felt a little pracarious.

The woodland walk was great need to come back again and go to the other building in the area.

I hear weekends can get pretty busy but weekdays were not too full had some school kids on excursions.
Beautiful park with lots of natural build material. Kids love it. There are toilet, parking lot and a lake nearby.
A great picnic spot and absolutely scenic. The japanese garden inside is breath taking. We got free entry as there was wedding photography scheduled on that Sunday. Good for kids and couples!!! Surrounded by trees and beautiful flowers, I highly recommend this place. You will find beautiful trail for walking and also barbecue slots along with picnic bench. There is play area for kids, which is poorly maintained but still usable. Public toilets and parking available so good place to visit.

Beau jardin public entre ville et océan, oiseaux, verdure, un bel espace à apprécier.
It have many ducks on the lake, plenty of playing equipment for kid, I believe all of you will love this beautiful playground
Great place for kids and families. Plenty of Sheds and BBQ facilities. Farmer's market is on the one corner of this park if you need anything. Lake is on another corner, making this place more beautiful.
It's a lovely spot to sit under the picnic sails and enjoy a relaxing lunch. This is inside this Abbartoir Heritage Precinct near Building A. It's also a short walk to the Abbartoir Blue café. There's a public lavatory nearby.
It's a big picnic and barbecue area with about 5 picnic shade sails pavilions and three electric barbecue cooktops. I normally come here for casual archery lessons and always use the picnic and barbecue facilities. There's a limited car park at Bennelong Parkway. There are also public lavatories at the Archery Centre.
This little picnic area has seen better days but is still a great little spot. A viewing platform, a jetty and boat launching. It looks like it was well planned and built in its time and some TLC can make it good again. Bring the fishing gear.

Great view of the City and the Bridge
When you do the Great Ocean Road, you must go to this little spot in Cape Otway National Park. It is a small picnic ground with some massive Californian Redwoods beside a beautiful creek. Just walk on amongst them and "feel the serenity". Definitely a highlight.

Great to see them. We were there on an overcast winters day but still a sight to see. Approach from Beechforest is via a bitumen road. Facilities are minimal. Picnic tables and that is it. Others have mentioned toilets but we didn't see any where we were near the little bridge.
Quiet & peaceful lookout from different levels across several bays of the lake.
Beautiful playground for all ages for young and young at heart ❤️. Lots of seats and grass to sit in. Lovely lake 😊
Loved this place with different types of adventure plays. Also with a small lake here and lots of BBQ points and sheds. Definitely a place to do small picnics..
Nice view. Great place to have kayaking.
Nice shallow water for kayak ridding. Good picnic area. Secluded and quiet place to relax. Beware that flies can be a real nuisense during December.

One of the best spots in Sydney! Can't ask for more .. water views, city views beautiful lawn and so peaceful at the foot of Sydney's hustle and bustle!
Beautiful spot. There is a boat ramp, several lookouts and a fishing spot.

One of the many expanses of grass in the Gardens, this space offers a panoramic view of the harbour and Farm Cove. Plenty of room to picnic, for kids to run around or just to stop and smell the flowers. Gets sun for the full day so is popular. You can grab a bite to eat in the nearby Gardens restaurant or get something at Circular Quay and walk past to the Opera House to this site.

Great picnic facilities, nice views of Mundaring dam and bushland. It has a nice walking trail that isnt to long of a walk. The walking gradient is low making it ideal, for those who are elderly or young kids. There are various photo opportunity points. There are toilets on side. Various table seating areas allows for multiple groups of visitors to be there.

Beautiful site with fire pits for warmth and food on a cold night, protection from the wind as well as a beautiful rock lookout on an open valley, would recommend for picnics and walk with friends
Beautiful photography location, I captured this lovely shot at 6:50am during the sunrise on May 2nd 2020. You can see more of my work on Instagram @kilotr
Wow. I'd like to thank a local who led me to this place. We were talking about lookouts and this one caught my attention. First of all, the dirt track you have to drive through to get to the destination and second of all, seclusion! I was fortunate to go when the weather was perfect. Sunshine, blue skies, tall playful trees, greenery amongst the red earth created the picturesque scenery. There are narrow trails through the bush where you can easily lose yourself and just take in all the nature. You can see the weir through the trees which contrasts beautifully. Drop toilet on site. Picnic tables and fire pits provided. Please use bins provided or take your rubbish with you.

Great experience. If you continue down the 4x4 track after North Ledge then I found that the track becomes more challenging but fun!
Magnificent views, no traffic noise. Peaceful and quiet- all qualities I like. Facilities are basic, some picnic areas and look-out points, no bins, no loos. It's easily accessible from the main road

It's listed as "venue for hire" but still part of the Royal Botanic Gardens overall setup. This is one of several sections of the garden being classified with lawn numbers for the purpose of public hiring and when booking for special events like weddings or the New Year's Eve fireworks. It's a spectacular spot like all the other lawn areas in the Royal Botanic Gardens. Public toilet is at Mare & Foal public toilet and the closest entry is from Victoria Lodge Gate. The best landmark in this lawn area is the Choragic Monument of Lysicrates.
A gorgeous lawn area for everyone.
What a lovely playground! Probably one of the best in WA! Peppered with tons of small details tying the whole farm theme around.

Zip lines, slides, 6 person swing, tractors!

BBQ and right next to a lake! Niceeeee!
The views are nice, but limited walking trails. A nice spot to put in a canoe or have a fish from the pier.

Un punto del parco molto bello, lo stagno e tutto il panorama circostante, il giardino, la baia, l'Opera House.
