Offers amazing views up the coast towards Surfers Paradise however you’ll need to dodge the Instagrammers and others who have heard it’s the cool place to hang out. Keep walking around the corner to the national park for some amazing rainforest walks and lookouts that are less crowded. A short walk back to the main commercial area of Burleigh for food / drinks.

One of the Gold Coasts best views and places. Sit up on the hill as the sun goes down, or even as it comes up and watch the lights of Sufers Paradise over the sound and gorgeous views of the ocean.
Was a great part of jells,
Just think this playground needs a bit updating.

It is becoming more and more urbanised like any open space in a suburb and slowly losing the natural aspect. Very controlled environment. Dogs are not allowed in anymore. Well maintained toilets and playground. Plenty of benches and tables. Good views of the river. There used to be a little tea/coffee house on a corner that unfortunately caught a fire and wasn't rebuilt. It would be great to have this kind of facility again.

Pleasant and relaxing picnic grounds next to the river. Plenty parking spaces and very clean toilets. Saw staff cleaning and maintaining the BBQ ovens and other facilities. Easy walk to the dam and two hiking trails nearby.
Beautiful place to have a picnic or barbie with friends or family. There's a tiny beach where you can swim, stunning views, water and bathrooms. I really loved it
Great location and weenjoyed our picnic with friends
It's just so goddam windy man. Other than that, the location is lovely. Great for picnics or to sit and enjoy a nice view. It gets pretty busy around sunset. There are a lot of food places around Burleigh Hill, so you can easily purchase something yummy to take out.
I enjoyed my time at this picnic shelter. Admittedly there was a woman asleep on one of the benches, but she didn’t snore or anything. I instructed my kids to leave her alone. Some people don’t like being woken up. Also, the people on the next table had better smelling food. The shelter itself was good. There were free electric barbecues about 50m away.

Awesome place for weekend get together. Around 5 BBQ facility. Very calm and quite. No network coverage.
The lookout tower was built in memory of the old land owner. Which got burned down and was replaced with metal tower and that one also got removed and that is a real shame that there is no tower here now.

Hopefully, the Scenic Rim Regional Council should reconsider this spot and build another tower as the view is amazing but because of the tree line in the park, you can not see any view.

Now I don't think this is a bad spot. There are several picnic tables with heaps of lawn space which is also shaded from the trees. So it's a perfect spot for a picnic and especially if you are looking for a quiet place. Pretty much we only shared the park with one other couple who also was having a picnic there and the other bonus is that you can park your car right next to you.

We also had kookaburras flying around us and one cheeky magpie visit us why eating lunch.

I also explored the park a little and found two treks. One on the left side of the park, which pretty much goes nowhere. You just pass some mobile phone towers, but the one on the right of the park is worth a look.

As I was headed down the path I did notice that you are behind some people's property which I hope does not upset them at the end of the path there is a bit of a cliff where someone has cut down the trees and the view there is amazing. I think it looks over Biddaddaba.

Now if you do head down the trek please be careful of the cliff at the end and I don't recommend taking children down there as the cliff is pretty steep.

A delightful place for a family picnic, be sure to walk around to the dam wall while you are there. Take a garbage bag though, you need to take your trash home.
A great place for family picnic. Specially, at the moment, there is an aqua park set up and you can a beautiful time playing in the lake. You can also hire some paddle board and paddle around the lake.
Amazing place for short trip for family in Canberra. Playground for kids and water fun available.

Quite a surreal experience with the dam spilling due to the heavy rain and the water rushing downstream. The amenities for a picnic or a family do are good, great playground for the kids and lots of empty spaces to run around in.

28/09/2021 Not a lookout at all, completely surrounded by trees, you cannot view anything.

This place just a picnic area, if you are looking for a lookout, do not come here.
It was too busy and we didn’t get our desired spot. I would suggest to go as early as 9am to book a better picnic or birthday shelter.
Free BBQ tables, water sports, sitting area , shaded tress and walking tracks... there is enough parking and functional areas... this is the place you can arrange birthday and happy functions.also have washrooms and toilets, big grounds for kids highly recommended place for weekends..nice place to have drone pictures and water sports for kids and kids swings are clean...
Great Place for a Picnic with Family and Friends. BBQ and Toilet facilities available.

This was once a tower lookout but unfortunatly due to the elements they have all be dismantled and removed.

Now it is a picnic area surrounded by trees... and graffiti.

There is a nuber of picnic tables and heaps of lawn space but is it very much a derelict park now.

I wouldn't stop here if I was after a lookout or nice picnic spot.

The view is amazing, it's basically just a big open section of grass but breathing none the less. Recommend going during sunset.
A wonderful family park and relaxing green space with amenities and BBQ surrounded by Lake Burley Griffin on three sides of the Peninsula. Beautiful views of the lake and Canberra City.
Nice clean picnic shelter, perfect spot for lunch
Nice spot to stop to see views from the mountain or watch the sun set
Swimming, kayaking, boating, hot air ballons, walking tracks, bike tracks, picnic areas, public toilets, great views. What else to say, this place is wonderful for everyone.
