A charming library especially with the inviting colourful lighting drawing us in there this evening. We got a few books, and Lauren the librarian was very accomodating & helpful with checking all our books out. So sweet to see lots of older teen-students tutoring the next generation.
It is better to open the door at 9 am rather than 9:30 am.
Well maintained library. It's warm and welcoming. It's a wonderful community spot that you can relax and enjoy. It's has various classes going on : English conversation, singing and story time, different languages activities etc.

We joined the children singing and story time this morning. It was excellent. The staff interaction with the children is much appreciated.
Great local library. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. They also have some great free sessions to attend. I went to the kntting/crafting session on a Thursday morning and it was a fantastic experience.
I like this library because of its the collection of pre teen books, audio books, and manga series.
Although I think its a great facility and I have been a member for over 5 years , this place is going down the tubes. Lap lanes are pretty much non-existent . As I was informed from a pool attended we have a culture where we do not ask people to follow centre rules as they don't speak good English. So groups of usually 4 or 5 just jump into lap lanes and stand there doing everything but swimming. You now just have to swim around them.
Its seems now you can bommie and dive into the lap lanes also. You can pretty much do what you want in the lap pool now.
If your in group just 1 can pay for the wellness centre and everyone else your with can go in with you or just wait near the door and walk in after members. Or some leave a ticket on the entry scanner and you can use that if you like.
The change rooms floors are turn black with mould and are rife with tinea so if your in foot fungus you're in luck.

I had a worst experience. One of the staff member approached us and asked us to find a spot in slow lane. There was no empty spot in a slow lane and no one of the fast lane. So we kept swimming until one of the staff member chased us. Felt like stray dog being chased away.
Better do not sell the tickets if there is no spot. We pay for every single entry, don’t waste our money. Never gonna come back.

Very busy library on a Sunday, but the staff were so lovely and helpful.
The gym is nice and modern with well maintained equipment. Let down by the oddest layout I think I've ever seen. There's literally no room for free weights. Dumbbells are tucked in a corner and three benches are sort of placed at random spots nearby.
Maybe lose some of the super niche machines and create a wall with free weights and benches. You know Iike every single other gym.

Lovely community space. We've been here for immunisations, meetings, song time, and of course borrowing books. It's fairly lively, so possibly not the best for quiet solo study (like most uni libraries!).
A very busy library but a good size space and has a nice kids area. The parents room is very small unfortunately. Staff was very kind and friendly.
Pretty good. Staff are very friendly & courteous & helpfull. The chief librarian Mr.Phil has done a fantastic job for LNL since the days I commenced going there since 1992, where the Brisbane Lions Club is now. I am now 85 years old, and I would have been dead long ago, if not for books and the library. The library is well stocked with a variety of books. Thanks, and wishing the Chief Librarian and his staff a prosperous and successful 2024.

Staff are knowledgeable and super helpful. I love this library so much. Awesome that it’s situated in a shopping centre too.
I've used one of the meeting room thinking it was more quiet space to have a call for work. The staff talked to me with condescending and unfriendly tone. They didn't let me explain why I was in there and cut me short while I was trying to talk to them. They gave me some nonsense excuses, this is a council place, they need to have the lights on and other reasons. Not friendly staff. They talked behind my back on top of it. My wife was with the kids in the lounge area while they were talking about "the annoying man" in the meeting room.

The wonderful staff are so very helpful and their efforts must be acknowledged. They are always willing to go the extra mile.

this place has a awesome smell of chlorine! the water slide is so fun and not scary, the water playground is so fun, the water temperature is always perfect for how hot or cold it is outside, the food is yummy + good drink options.
Nice place overall, but there always seems to be something broken/not operating on daily basis. Your lines of communication seem to be very casual, I emailed to update my membership (pay you more money) 8weeks ago and still no reply/confirmation and when you approach the customer service staff they never have a straight answer. although I understand your staff are unusually minors is there not a single supervisor/ duty officer that can handle your inquiries? Please id like to use all your facilities on a weekly basis please.

Spacious and organised library for the public to share. Loved the kids room with the interactive floor games. We came here on a Monday morning for baby rhyme time and it was super busy so be prepared to meet lots of people and kids!

Lovely area, however the staff in the Brisbane council centre talk very loudly and gossip. Quite distracting I must say!

Ballroom Fit have run a weekly dance class for people living with a disability at the Cannington Leisureplex since 2019.

Not happy about staff in the pool. My child came specifically to use the slide but the area was closed. Upon asking one of the staff why the are was closed, he informed me that their was less staff. This is not the first time that the sliding section has been closed but it has occurred in several occasions.

When I came to this library today morning (Saturday)I was originally full of joy as the library looks nice and chill but from 10am to 12:30pm, there was a group of aunts /grandmas (looking ard 50-70years old,7-8ppl) chatting loudly like going to a Chinese teahouse, which made me unable to be quiet at all. I also saw that the people sitting at the front also looked at them, but they looked like no one else was there. It was a very bad experience.
If you want to read a book quietly, it is not recommended to come here.
I am wondering why they don’t book the room or go to the cafe to catch up if they wanna chat.

My Gosh the staff here are extremely helpful and friendly. They had an incident with someone and police were at the scene when I arrived. They all seemed pretty shooked but they still helped me with my printing work and all with a smile!! Thanks so much for your help and please keep up the good work!! Stay safe. 🙌🙏🙏
It's great and beautiful place, and the assistants are very kind,
I like this library but the noise is absolutely ridiculous. I understand there’s community groups that socialise here, and that’s okay, as they generally use the big sound proof meeting room or chat only for a bit on the floor. I’m not sure if the librarians know that their loud voices when talking to each other penetrate the entire floor. This library needs a big quiet division similar to Mt Gravatt that has a window and doesn’t need to be rebooked every two hours. There’s not many places I can go for silent study time besides libraries. It’s really frustrating. People in the quiet rooms also leave the door open and speak loudly on the phone or video calls. My noise canceling headphones don’t drown out the noise enough to study. Where am I meant to go?

Wonderful library! My family and I regularly go there. Lovely, warm atmosphere and lovely staff, with lots of places to settle down with a good book or get some work done. The park outside is perfect for young children to play. I find myself missing the place while on holidays!

A wonderful community resource, there are mothers groups, social chess on Wednesday around 10am and lots of other groups. It’s also a great place to study or catch up on work. The staff are most helpful and the library is always spotlessly clean. The museum is also worth a look.
I have been here a couple of times and the staff is very polite and helpful. Nice and quite ambience for reading books.
The library is very good but I think it's over staffed on Sunday & the opening hours are too long.
Rate payers are being slugged with a rate increase to cover higher street lighting costs.
I think its about time council started tightening up fiscally in now essential areas.
Council employees never lost 1 cent in wages during covid lockdowns unlike self employed small businesses.
An over staffed library is a good place to start "belt tightening.

It's been a while since I've been to the Arana Hills library but I was really pleasantly surprised when I went today. It's a very open, airy design and the collection is huge! Loads of space for the kids to browse the books, lots of places to sit and read too. The facilities are pretty impressive and the staff (of which there are plenty) are super helpful!

Excellent library. I have so many trouble and problem with my home computer and shut down since 2017. After that, I used in Armadale library from that year to up date. All staff are wonderful angel for me. Their helps are missing my future back to my hands. Thank you.
The best thing to do in the town to visit museum in the library. The staff is so cooperative and supportive and always ready to have a good conversation about the history of town.

This library has been my second home. Love the environment and staff is very helpful and friendly. I have been studying here for over two years now. Also the storytime for kids is great and the teachers arranging the program are friendly, I am talking about 2 yrs ago. I have brought my kids to there LETS program and that’s also a great way for kids to learn English language who are from non English speaking families. All thumbs up for Thornlie library staff who are part of this team for over two years.

Always a pleasure. A couple of changes since last visit. But always helpful staff, and easy to find what your looking for.
Nice library with good selection of books and enough tables and seating areas for everyone. However, it is VERY loud for a library because of all the tuition that is occurring there. Bring earphones if you want to go study there, that's what I've learnt. It's still a nice library though, but if you're finding a quiet place to study then maybe study at home.
Best library I've ever been to in WA. Well designed with the best supportive staff! You can access a huge variety of books and online material at your fingertips. You could simply download the borrowbooks and Libby apps and access everything under one app. Nice and clean environment with plenty of space to sit and read in. Also if you've got kids it has a wide variety of activities and materials to learn and play.

This is a great library with a wonderful friendly & helpful crew. Always willing to lend a hand with tech problems you may encounter. Very spacious always neat and tidy & a generous time allowance on the computers. There's also ample undercover parking available.
Manning librarians are very helpful in directly my kids to comics of tin tin whatever they are looking for. They have a kids room and kitchen area with tables too. The toilets are close and outside there are two play grounds. It's a great place to read and be quiet, then burn off done energy outside. For adults there are some coffee shops close by, IGA express and a few other places 3-5 minutes walking distance.
Library is tidy and clean, the rearrangement of furniture nearby the entrance looks more comfy.
The printing vender machine is a bit hard to use. Lucky the staff helped to settle the issue. The other uncontrollable issue was the young users at the far end corner kept talking loudly in the mobile phone, and the adult sibling came in also talk loudly. You can find quiet library in the ad and movie only. Miss that a lot!

Staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. The atmosphere is overall calm and peaceful (though the library is situated in a shopping centre). I like the comfy spaces where i can just relax and read to my heart’s content. The process of borrowing and checking out books is such a breeze, too. Truly a haven for book lovers and avid readers.

Best library, Great place for kids, Right in the shopping centre, Huge collection of children books and entertaining area for kids. For children they love going there. Quite calm place to read. Fantastic facilities.

The camaraderie between myself and the staff spans 29 years. Excellent customer service no question is too hard. My weekly trip to the Library is always an enjoyable part of my day.
This library has been refurbished and is fantastic! The staff are so welcoming and helpful. There are lots of cosy spaces to sit and read books. There is even a big nest with egg cushions for children to sit and play. The library offers a nursery rhyme time for babies and has just started a storytelling session for young children. It's a wonderful resource provided by council and even better, it's all free!
Love love love this library it is a big library and has a wide range of books for kids and adults love the range of puzzles available - the kids movie and movies for adults are a big variety . Nice and quiet library in the mornings.can get busy with printing in the morning
What a beautiful library. Very open and spacious with plenty of natural light. Nice and quiet most of t he time with study desks available, computers for public use and also offers baby rhyme time for the young ones. Very helpful staff who care for their community . Colourful murals inclusive of children's participation to brighten the atmosphere.
Staff very helpful. I was looking for a justice of the peace, but there is no longer one available at the library but they helped me to find one elsewhere.

One of my favorite library, spacious and cozy place
Been a member of Thornlie Library for over decade now. I try to avoid using this library but sometimes I have to because it's close to my house and I have deadlines to meet. The staff, in particular one lady who has a thick eastern European accent (I'm assuming her name is Amanda), is quite condescending and rude when I've asked her in the past 10 years for help. I'm not sure if it is the language barrier or cultural differences, but she is completely cold and unpleasant to talk to as well as unhelpful and unsupportive. This staff member in particular likes to cause trouble and arguments out of the blue, likes to accuse and place the blame without evidence. I borrowed two books in October, and to be honest, I never got around to reading the books, the receipt from the library that they give you when you borrow books was still nesting inside the pages of the book when I returned them. I got an email from lovely Amanda accusing me of spilling food and staining the pages in the book, which I find strange since I never even read the books because final exams took up my most of my time, so they've been sitting on my clean glass study desk ever since I first borrowed them. Your staff member, Amanda, is hostile and makes the library overall an unpleasant environment to be in. Perhaps it would be beneficial for Amanda to receive further training in how to approach and resolve problems with customers?
We absolutely love this toy library. It is run by volunteers that is why the membership is so cheap per year. Each member is required to volunteer (max of 4 times per year). They have a huge range of toys. And you can borrow about 4 each fortnight. It is also super easy to renew them only. Kids get bored so easily with their toys so it is a brilliant idea to introduce new ones every couple of weeks! Great range of toys from 6 months to 5 years.
Pretty big fan of all the Brisbane City Council libraries but this one always has a special place in my heart as I took my son Tommy to rhyme time a lot here.

Great place to bring young kids as there is something in the hub for all ages - my 18 month old daughter is besotted with the screen on the floor and my son loves the reading nooks.

Located under the Carindale shopping centre makes it easy for parents to take their kids down. A huge Children's area which the kids look so happy to use. Not enough of a range of Adult's books but it's cool that they have DVDs! It's a bit stuffy so they need some air circulation...
I found it a great experience going here. for students i highly suggest coming here instead of school libraries, its relaxing and i could just sit in a corner doing work without being distracted by anyone. really calm awesome atmosphere and it has all the books you will ever need for studying.
The new Kelmscott Library has a great ambience, with the added bonus of some great personable staff - and a coffee machine! Cosy, colourful and cheerful, but at the same time tasteful.
The staff are fantastic, very friendly and extremely helpful. The library is not huge, yet the range is extensive - with access to over 60,000 items. It's well utilised by students, retired folk, and young families with small children. A selection of books is available in Chinese and Greek, just ask at the main help desk. There is an after hours return chute, a disabled toilet, and it's wheel chair accessible - lift access is also located on the food hall level above - just look for the large hanging heart - I'd say green, but it does change colour! The easiest and most convenient car park location is Yellow B1, off Millennium Boulevard. Wifi is free, there is a photocopier, loan iPads ,and word processing, and Xbox consoles for the kids. A display television is available for public viewing, featuring sport and news. Two community meeting rooms, with after hours access, are available for hire - the max capacity is 30 people, and includes a data projector. The library also has a quiet room, news lounge, and a special space for children to enjoy storytime, read a book in a nook, get creative at the craft bar, or play the interactive learning games. Opening Hours - Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri - 9am-5.30pm, Thurs 9am - 8pm, Sat - 9am - 4pm, Sun 10am - 4pm. Closed on public holidays
Had been to the new Manning Library several times now. It is relaxing and the staffs are always friendly and helpful.
Great programs for kids, very friendly librarians. Love to come here often.
Good atmosphere and some of the staff are great. My encounter with one particular staff who is very inpatient, if you asked her for a pen to take note of something, she would say there is none while you are there seeing a pen on her desk. One thing lacking is, a library like that should provide water dispenser for their users who feel thirsty in the course of studying or using any of their facilities. I learnt that there is one, but they decided to keep it inside for themselves. But overall is a very beautiful library with great resources I think.
