Was not impressed at all by the service I received from Adam, who was working at the time. Very rude and had abit of an attitude when serving people. Also very slow service we waited nearly 20minutes for 2 drinks.
The bathrooms on all floors do not have paper towels or hand dryers. Especially the 5th floor bathroom is very dirty and has a lot of water
We stopped in for Breakfast, the service was friendly enough for how busy it was, the meals were generous size and delicious. Great value for money. The view is spectacular ✨️ 👌
Amazing view of the beach and surf from the balcony, but hard to get a table around tea time. We ate inside. The SLSC is popular around 3pm when the tradies (tradesmen) finish for the day, and again at 5pm, which is evening meal time for young families. A large table of several families gave us a background of screaming kids, so pick your time to eat and table carefully. Our fish, chips and salad were ok, and served In no time at all. Staff were excellent and well organised. The meal prices are average and the drinks are typical for a tourist location. One issue — I found the seats really uncomfortable. It’s also essentially a sports and beer crowd, so I sensed a blue collar vibe. However, if you are hungry, looking to walk in, order a meal and drinks, and get your food pronto, this is an ok option.

Manchurian was good but even the medium kadai paneer was very mild.

Ambience was good

There was some birthday party in main area and despite sitting in private dining area, it was extremely loud. Can't believe how they allowed such loud music.
Easy 30 minute walk from the station, up main road, turn right, past the markets and it's just after the equestrian centre. Volunteer staff all very helpful and friendly, a lot to see which filled our time from 10.00 a m to 3.00 p.m. including a very well presented burger, salad and fries (made a welcome change they weren't heavily over salted as we've often found elsewhere) and after the decent walk round all the exhibits, it was nice to be offered a free shuttle bus ride back to the station. Very impressed with the day.
A small group visited and the events staff saved us a long table with a nice view over the course. The service and the hot snacks we ordered were really good. Looking forward to visiting again.
Food is very good. Kids annoying!! Running around yelling @ screaming. Parents not bothered. Wasn't a great place for a catch-up with friends. Couldn't hear each other talk. About time management stepped in @ asked parents to control their kids!!
I managed to snag a great deal on the golfnow app, $39.99 for 18 holes walking. The current condition of the course is excellent, the fairways have plenty of grass, and the greens are in excellent condition ! I highly recommend getting a round in with the current conditions
According to the website I was lead to believe this venue was very wheelchair friendly. I didnt agree. I found a lot of the paths were very uneven so making it difficult for wheelchairs to be pushed smoothly into the buildings. Twice Ì nearly catapulted out of my chair! So quite dangerous I felt.
Whole place is filthy dirty stinks don’t waste your time

A hidden Gem with a great variety of food options. Have lived close to this restaurant for quite some time and recently attended. Their menu is fabulous and so is their Buffet and drink options. Good variety of veg and Non-Veg dishes, with a tasty drinks menu and presentation. Staff and atmosphere is always lovely and welcoming.

Have already visited 4 times this month and there are plenty more visits to come.
I like it, great for dinning out . Lunch and dinner always great at this place 👍
During our stay on the golf coast, we ate here multiple times for breakfast and dinner. The meals were impeccable and affordable, which was a bonus! Chips were delicious, steak was cooked perfect, poached eggs were runny, and meals were super generous in size! Didn’t have a single complaint. The upstairs balcony is super nice to dine on too. Would definitely come back next time we’re in QLD!
Birthday lunch with mum and other family members here was great. Food fabulous, the best salt and pepper squid (entree size) I've ever had anywhere. Dessert was a bit lacklustre, but service and venue worth another visit.
Had a lovely breakfast here. Service was quick and meals were great! We found the breakfast menu was much more diverse than most places we have been to and still a fair price. We tried both the breakfast wrap and egg & bacon roll! Both meals were scrumptious and we enjoyed the crispy mini hash browns that came with them! Would love to dine here again!
Could not make up mind on where to have lunch and a quiet few with my partner. Lucky for us, found this gem of a place. Friendly and an inviting atmosphere with the best service and good. Will definitely be returning when we're back for another getaway.
Great food, prices, service and view - what more could you ask for? We had breakfast, there is a great range of options ranging from about $7 to $27 and kids breakfast too. Our meals were generous and tasty!!! Great coffee too. If you're in Surfers, this place is a must for a meal!
Amazing, customer service was amazing would recommend coming here

Absolutely amazing venue and the staff were amazing to work with. I can’t thank Lily and the staff at mawarra for making my day the best day ever. Highly recommend. I wish I could do it all over again.
I recently attended a wedding of a friend and the team was super professional and made the day really special! The food was amazing and really recommend this venue!!
We visited during the annual halloween event held at Caboolture Historical Village this year. Halloween is always a magical time of year; giving adults and kids an excuse to dress up, have fun and indulge our sweet tooth just a little. It was our first time attending this event, and what an experience we had. The village gave a nice balance of fright while also being family friendly. Be prepared to hear many screams as you explore the night. The halloween decorations showcased were beautifully integrated with the historical buildings, and curated items can be enjoyed throughout the village. The mandatory jumpscare was on the table for the night. Volunteers included ghosts and ghouls in the hospital, witches that gave us a wonderfully 'horrifying' welcome as well as a caged prisoner. The details were well thought throughout the event. You could also find a chainsaw madman chasing people through the village. There were statues that came alive. We enjoyed the miniature train ride, which also included murderous gunmen firing away from the minature forest. This gave us a good jump. Next halloween, I would recommend adding Caboolture Historical Village on your list for a fun family fright night.
Great atmosphere, amazing view as it's across from the beach. Really helpful staff, I only had a beer so can't comment on the food. But if you want a down to earth spot with locals and tourists alike then this is a great place to hang.
Nice location with beach views. Barra special was fine, spicy pasta prawns were very good along with the Aussie burger. The steak sandwich was pretty good as well. The side of prawns was very good. Calamari was ok. Service was a bit slow but friendly. Limited craft beers on tap. Nice atmosphere, parking nearby is an issue as a prime beach location.
This village was worth the drive from Ipswich QLD. Go and see how your forebears lived and worked. Many of the buildings are original and some have been restored. Others have been reproduced, if taking little ones check the times of the train(I was disappointed)

This was located in Thomastown suburb. Can catch Mernda train from Melbourne City and get down at Keon Park station. From there, it is walkable.
We were welcomed with papads by a person called Taran and his entire service was very good and gentle.
The food was so yummy 😋, as we ordered panipuri, samosa chat, murg tikka, amritsari fish and pineapple mint mojito. The quantity was decent and worth for every penny.
The ambience was soo good and it is suitable for lunch/dinner/ parties.
We will visit next time and have to try the main course also.

Mawarra Functions did an amazing job of hosting our wedding! The food was delicious, venue was absolutely beautiful and they also did a great job with keeping us warm on the freezing cold night it was! Cannot recommend them enough!
Swagat restaurant located in Thomastown is totally worth a visit. The food is really good. They have a wide range of starters and authentic North Indian food. Everything we tried was very delicious.
The interiors are European inspired & very pretty. Every corner of the restaurant is instagrammable. It is also a great space for events and parties. You are sure to have a good time here.
Perfect to visit with family or to celebrate your next special event!

We've been here a few times and enjoyed the service and food. Tonight's experience was ruined by the rude attendant(Tamil?) when I went to pay. Told me that the Fork doesn't pay them anymore so he can't do the advertised discount. Booking was made via the Fork with Swagat advertising the offer. The owner wasn't there but he needs to know a few things about the rude attendant who called me "mate" a few times. Really.
I recently had the opportunity to try a Buffett experience at this restaurant.
I have to say that hands down it is one of the best places serving Indian food.

Especially their snacks which are exactly what you’d want to eat and definitely remind you of Home.
Also really enjoyed their dal makhni and kadahi paneer, must try’s for sure.

For dessert I had the ras malai which was soft, spongey and not overly sweet.

Can’t wait to be back!

P.S. their decor is also quite unique which makes for a great environment to have food in.
This is a hidden gem in Thomastown! Their decor us super unique and unlike anything I have seen before. But then came the food which was even more amazing that the decor! Superior flavours, a variety of dishes and really good quality presentation! Perfect for any kind of event! I loved loved loved the dhal makhni and butter so highly reccomend when choosing from the catering menu! Also their meats are Ll halal so perfect to feed your guest too!
Usually a good place to eat. Last time we went. A man slipped over. The floor is so slippery. Has multiple people almost slipping over.
There was no food majority of the time for our session. Had to wait for plates.
Drinks are flat. Major OHS zone. The old lady changing the grill doesn’t care if she holds the hot plate near my 3yr old head. Food is great when it is available. Definitely won’t be going back on a Sunday night.
One of the best places I’ve been too I needed way more than 90mins coming back for a second visit soon. This time starting in the morning so if I take all day brilliant. Well worth the trip and please take your time there to really enjoy the moment. So much to see and explore it’s like a whole town plus some more.

We had our wedding at Mawarra Functions on 3rd December and there is not one thing we would change. Lily was so easy to work with, and made the entire process stress-free and accommodating, from our first meeting up until the big day we did not have to worry about anything. Everything ran so smooth and perfect on our big day and we couldn’t have wished for a better day. All the staff were lovely and the food was fantastic! The venue honestly speaks for itself, it’s a beautiful venue and we would recommend Mawarra to anyone as the perfect venue for any celebration! We will definitely be back :)

Awesome venue
Awesome food
Couldn’t fault the day from start to finish
If you are thinking about having a function at mawarra do your self a favour and book it
Venue Manager - Lily done a wonderful job on Rod & Vickie Wedding Saturday, 5th November 2022.
An atmospheric mix of old houses and businesses set up as they would have been and buildings housing vehicles and tools of yesteryear. Everything is really clean and in good condition. The fountain and planting are really lovely too. There are two cafes but both were closed when we got there at 1 pm on Sunday and the train wasn't going either, I think we were the only people there as we didn't see a soul for the three hours we were there, except the receptionist who was very nice. I suppose this just happens sometimes as it's staffed by volunteers so just remember to take some snacks and a drink in case. Definitely wear plenty of mosquito spray, I did and still got bitten 4 times. Big thanks to the volunteers, we learnt a lot and will remember it, it was a really good day out.
A large area full of Australian culture. Plenty of collections of historical significance such as police, farming, school, transport, technology and there is a morgue too. There is a train ride as well. It takes probably a good 3 to 4 hours to appreciate the collections.
Coco Nail Bar will now be my second home!!! Amazing owners, stunning decked out place & definitely an experience like no other to get your nails did!! Worth every second!!! Already excited to go back!! #InLove
