This is a very special place to visit over 2500 collected pieces of English and indian antiquities that are displayed in various Formats and themes. Different displays rotating. It is presented beautifully and the volunteers have a wealth of knowledge and make your tour entertaining and interesting. Please consider this on your visit to Melbourne
Fascinating antique collection with guided tours. Book online and hang round outside the Pullman hotel for the van pick-up. Limited appeal for children but wonderful for those who love an art gallery or museum
Really enjoyed the visit.
Lovely house with an impressive collection of French empire style furniture.
Lovely driver and guide
Super friendly staff shows us around the facility.

His story.. yeap History. This is a credit to all involved in keeping it running, these ppl are keeping it alive, went for a tram ride. Go have a gander if you get the chance, take the kids & grand kids. The tram rides are great.
Very nice place for kids to explore and ride old trams.
Very interesting. Large variety of planes. Was hot the day we went (41 degrees) so closed early because the builng got to hot. Everything from an old biplane to modern jets.
Great place to take the family, especially if you have kids that love planes. Friendly and very knowledgeable staff. VR flights are also available but book in advance.

There are lots of cool things to see here. Good for all ages, but keep an eye on your kids.

The F/A-18B and Tornado are awesome to see up close and personal. Had a guided tour at an earlier date, including inside the C-47 and Lancaster.

Things to note:
Mind your head! There are several low headroom areas
It can get quite hot during the warmer months, especially in the Northern hangar.
Amazing to learn about the history of this place. Recommend that you take advantage of the two day pass if you're staying nearby and split your visit.

We did an afternoon and then the following morning which was just about right.

The self guided tour around the site is good, but make sure you get a map! As an add on the Isle of the Dead tour is excellent and can be accessed from the harbour cruise.

The massacre that occurred here in 1996 is also very sensitively dealt with, the memorial garden has a real sense of serenity and allows for quiet contemplation.
Fantastic way to spend a few hours. Though don’t get caught out like we did, pack a lunch or ensure you make it to the cafe before the kitchen closes (it closed at 3 and they wouldn’t serve us at 3:01) they are pretty strict about closing time.

The building that was formerly a prison is really worthy of attention. There are many places to take pictures. The overall feeling makes people feel the greatness of history. Remember that one ticket can take the boat and the car in their park. This is a very important thing. Guaranteed value for money
I've wanted to visit Port Arthur for 30 years. Finally made it, and it didn't disappoint. Australian history doesn't get better than this. Story telling at its best. Preserving our history for generations to come is vital to our nation.

Well done.
It would be a shame to miss this place. So much history. We arrived later in the afternoon but still had plenty of time to walk around and take in all the site had to offer. There are talks on various areas which adds to the overall experience.
Pretty nice establishment but isn’t the most exciting place, also quite pricey, $47 for an adult. Nice views however and good place if you are interested in historical sites. Also the cruise is quite nice but very quick.
Must visit place if you visit Hobart. Good for any age and can learn the history of Australian convict settlement. It's a popular historical landmark. The ticket is two day access ticket. And the boat tour included the ticket and that was amazing.
A must - do when visiting Tasmania. A wonderful insight into Australia's convict past. Guided tours are excellent, guides are knowledgeable and entertaining. Most areas are easily accessed, but there are hills. Your ticket is a two day pass which gives plenty of time to see everything.

History preserved by volunteers, gorgeous property
There are quite a lot of planes from different eras and also tons of old artefacts with their own lore and how they came into show in this museum. You can spend an entire day looking around and reading the lores.

All the staff there are volunteers, and they are very friendly.

The price is considered good for how many planes and artefacts are there, with $15 for adults and $7.5 for children.
Went here with a group of 35. They opened specially for us and we took 2 trips to the Royal National Park station. One in a Sydney tram and the other in a Melbourne tram.
Very knowledgeable volunteers who were able to answer all our questions
Very interesting exhibits in the museum.
Absolutely had a magnificent time, seeing all the history in Australia's aviation. Rather impressed with the Lancaster. My son did a flight simulator in a Macchi Advance Air Trainer and enjoyed it immensely
Hidden gem on the Perth museum trail. Worth a visit for any police/military history enthusiasts. Free entry and an awesome collection of uniforms, badges, equipment covering the history of the Western Australia Police Force and other police memorabilia.

I popped down to the Q Street market on Lithgow Street and found the old house was open for visitors to walk through. I have to admit I have lived in the area for years and had never visited. The house was beautiful and the volunteer staff full of knowledge and very welcoming. The garden area at the back of the house was a peaceful oasis. If you are in the area on one of the open days take the time to enjoy this lovely old building

See and experience trams from Sydney's past. It was $20 for an adult to enter and this includes unlimited tram rides. On the day I went there were 2 different trams running and you could choose to ride one to the National Park, or to Sutherland (or both!).

There is also a large hall showcasing historical trams that used to operate in Sydney and surrounds. In addition, there is a small souvenir store and a small kiosk.

If you are just a casual member of the public and want to ride a tram or two plus have a bit of a look at the exhibition hall then plan to spend 1.5 to 2 hours here.
Had the best time here! Great display of historic and not-so-historic aircrafts. We even got a discount at the entrance without asking for it. Some of the volunteers have an actual connection to the exhibits and are very interesting to talk to – I highly recommend doing so. You might even be granted access to the closed off insides of some aircrafts. Don't forget the hangar with the F-18 and Tornado GR4, it's easy to miss.

Our car club were warmly welcomed by the volunteers where we displayed our cars in the grounds. The Devonshire tea was exceptional and the tour very interesting.
A lovely display of Aviation History.
The staff were so welcoming and kind, the display was way larger than we were expecting and such a big variety also.

10/10 Highly Recommend.

A little gem of a museum. Amazing collection of beautifully restored old tram cars and memorabilia from a bygone era of Sydney’s public transport. Great place for a family day out with unlimited rides on some old trams included with the entrance fee.

Had Devonshire tea on the back verandah then toured the house
Tram rides are amazing, they have an incredible indoor museum display too. I highly recommend taking a tram trip to Sutherland then up to the Royal National Park, where you can alight and explore the trails.
We had a great visit to the museum today. Pauline was so welcoming and told us many stories. We got to use the typewriters which was an absolute treat. Definitely worth visiting this museum.
Small museum with a large collection of the Nobelius family & local vintage farming implements & home furnishings as well as Emerald area specific historical info. Worth having a quick look or take your time as part of your Nobelius parkland exploration. Volunteers are knowledgeable & helpful. Check out the manual horse powered dredge used to create Lake Emerald...!
As an avid aviation buff, I often drag my wife to places like this. We had a great time here and stayed for hours and even my wife said she didn't get bored! The knowledgeable staff were very friendly and happy to chat and there were heaps of interesting displays. Highly recommend!

Such a great hidden gem! We visited during their annual Vintage Tramway Festival and it was such a delight for both the adults and children! Love that you’re able to walk into various trams to get an up close and personal view of them all, as well as experience some tram rides.

I would definitely recommend their Vintage Tramway Festival if you’re able to attend! It felt like we had stepped into a time portal taking us to the early 1900s with the beautiful trams, buses and classic cars on show and in wonderful condition.

Such great work by all the volunteers - thank you so much for what you do and for preserving all this great history of bygone Sydney! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit!
The volunteers who work here were very friendly and knowledgeable also very accommodating with our children and clearly passionate about the history of Emerald.
Overall we had a very good experience and are glad we stopped by.

What a fantastic piece of history located in the heart of Campbelltown,
there is no cost to enter.
Wander the rooms of the home and dream of days gone by, bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the grounds of this beautiful homestead.

Beautiful Historical Home .
It was Open when the Markets in Lithgow St, were on.
We didn't need to Pay..
make sure you Visit SHED at back of House. Full of yester-year Machinery., Tools, Bee Hives
(Bee Free, though)!
They have Devonshire Teas, you can enjoy out on the lawn.
The volunteers in the museum were certainly informative and very helpful. One of them was a lady who definitely knows the history of the area and she even kindly showed us the organ piano in detail with some interesting stories about it.
Interesting history and friendly staff happy to explain the stories behind the large collection of items and photographs!

Beutiful garden and the house from inside has been looked after. It showcase the old time and how people lived in the past.
A wonderful volunteer-run museum filled with many artifacts from the now-extinct Sydney Tramway Network.

The entry fee also includes as many rides on the operating trams on the day of your visit. There are special entry fees when there are special events, such as the Annual Sydney Tramway Festival. The trams run on a dedicated line that extends into the Royal National Park. Riders can disembark at the Royal National Park and visit the National Park if they so wish.

There are a number of picnic tables (where you can enjoy your own BYO lunch) located at the Tram Museum under and around the old Railway Square Waiting Station, which was relocated from Railway Square in Sydney CBD to the Museum many years ago. A small kiosk on site sells refreshments, such as soft drinks, juice, chips and ice creams.

The Display Hall houses a number of significant heritage items, including trams from overseas and from other parts of Australia. Many of the trams are kept in running condition and can be operated by the museum volunteers; indeed, on the day I visited, I was able to ride a Melbourne tram that was retired in the 1970's and a Brisbane Tram that was decommissioned in the 1960's! Be sure to look at the very unique Prison Tram in the display hall.

The volunteers appear to work tirelessly to maintain and upgrade the museum. Their subject matter knowledge appears to be quite extensive, and the volunteers I encountered were eager, friendly and helpful. Children were encouraged to learn more about the trams and the history of the old tram networks that operated those trams.

Excellent piece of history. The people looking after the place have done an incredible job. Really interesting.
Wonderful little museum with a lot to see. Nice gardens around it too for a walk or picnic
quaint local history museum check their website before going as it's not open often
