Betty is lovely and the result was great although I will warn painful, but it would be great if they added some atmosphere. Maybe some music as a 4hr session in an uninspiring room, nothing to look at, nothing to read, spending $$ and not even an offer of a drink.

I went to the salon after reading reviews, and I am so glad I did. I met with this lovely lady Tina, who actually knows what she is doing. Her judgement on the hair cut, colour was something beyond what I expected. I definitely recommend this place. Amazing service . I love it.
These ladies are the best! I have been seeing Amanda, and more recently Claire, since moving to Brisbane in 2018 and have nothing but praise for their work. Gina is also fantastic, having done a few blow dries for me too.
They are friendly, accommodating and do a great job. The salon is relaxed and welcoming, with great music and good wine and cheese on a Thurs night! Amanda even cuts my little girls’ hair and she is so awesome with them - they love her! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

I'm beaming after my first experience with the team at Glow, I went in to install tape extensions and every stage of the service was fantastic. They have an experienced team and a great location. I can't wait for my next appointment!

I know the crew at 235 can't accommodate everyone at any time but if I give them a ring and tell them I'm all kinds of messed up they'll try their best to fit me in, sometimes I have to wait an hour or more and it takes multiple stylists inbetween clients but they get it done and it's amazing. I don't believe they can do this with everyone but they know my situation and it has taken many years to build this relationship and this understanding. I am HAPPY to wait!

Glow on Collins is a fantastic salon! Tina and her staff are all lovely and give great advice and do amazing haircuts. Tina is truly a perfectionist!
I am so happy with the result of my half head of foils and balayage, it really gave life to my hair. The staff were all lovely and made me feel so comfortable.
Would not recommend, my partner was booked in for an appointment and when he arrived for his appointment they were closed and he could not get in contact with anyone, once getting in contact with someone the next day they proceeded to ask why he wanted the hairstyle and that they’ve looked on his social media and because he’s not of the ethnicity they don’t know why or how his learnt of this style
Spent a few days in Hobart and needed a haircut, found the salon by chance. Tina took care of me and it was the best experience ! Even though I was not a regular customer, she treated me like family, making me feel she was genuinely happy to cut my hair and worked to find the best style that will suit my needs and habits.

I had a great experience at the salon getting starter locs with extensions. Edith, the hairstylist was very friendly and skilled, and the end result was amazing.
I absolutely loved my haircut today with Mark! My last haircut elsewhere was very confusing in terms of communication, however Mark exactly understood what I wanted in few seconds and did a great job, highly recommended!

I booked the ladies from Pure Boutique for my wedding which was on 6th May 2023. I did an initial trial and had them travel to me on my wedding day. They completed five looks on an array of different ladies and hair types and we all walked away so incredibly pleased with our looks. I could not recommend them enough, the ladies were also such beautiful kind souls, it was an incredible experience. I highly recommend their services.

Mark is so talented and has a lot of experience in the industry, particularly with perms (which is a trend that at is coming back!). He has a skill and understanding of how to make the best outcome for his clients. My friend and I have had two perms each done by Mark. Both of us have different hair types, and he catered the treatment to our specific hair. I love my curls ! It has really tamed my frizzy hair to a more structured curl.
The best salon I have ever been to. Con and Grant are such wonderful guys. Always walk out so happy with my hair! Highly recommend them.

We had been longstanding clients. The salon cut our children’s hair since their first haircut, for a very reasonable price, as long as it was combined with an adult cut. This was increased by $170 without consultation, for two under 5 children’s cuts. Unfortunately the management style seems to have changed, and the salon seems to only want to service high net worth cuts and individuals. I would ensure you have a written quote before proceeding.
I had my hair cut and balayaged by the very talented Tessa, and I couldn’t be more happy. She explained everything super well, tailored my style to me and how I style my hair everyday, and perfectly nailed what I was wanting done. As it was my first time getting my hair coloured, I had no idea what to expect, but she was so welcoming, gentle and an excellent communicator; all my worries melted away. She layered my hair beautifully, and her dog Teddy just adds to the experience giving the best basin cuddles! My hair feels and looks amazing, and I couldn’t be more grateful to Tessa for her amazing work. This salon is amazing, a lovely studio and with very talented and friendly stylists, highly recommended!

OMG love these guys 🥰can’t believe it took me so long to find them. Perfect haircut great atmosphere and just genuine lovely people who try to serve you with their best intentions 💕
💙 absolutely pleasure getting hair work done here. I’ve been here before but this was the first time meeting betty but the love and care was as excellent as the other girls. They have such a loving nature that it makes the whole experience calm and relaxing. She just finished braiding a customer’s full head, didnt even take a break and ask me to sit down. I’ve gotten braids somewhere else before and when they got tired, they’ll lose a little patience and can get rough which makes sense, Not with betty, it’s almost like she can stand 24/7 and still be as gentle as ever. Oh my gaa and when she finished braiding, it looked exactly as expected 👌🏼 I showed betty a photo and she did exactly the same thing. Going home I felt like I wanted the front to have the braids done a little closer to fill the gaps so I went back the next day to make another appointment. Betty just opened the shop and said there’s someone coming in a hour or so and she has time and got it done straightaway. The work ethic is unreal

Over time my naturally copper hair has darkened. I have been to other salons to try and get my colour back to the same colour as when I was younger and I have come out disappointed with a deep red colour.
As the colour I want doesn't come in a box I resorted to doing it myself by using a gradual lightner for years.
I had seen some vibrant coppers from Isabis on the local community page so I thought I'd give it a go.
I had a free consultation with Amanda where she checked that the previous gradual lightener wouldn't interact with anything. She listened to me and what I wanted.
When I came back they had a corner set up for me near the door (in case of fumes but it was fine anyway) as I had my newborn. There was a ramp access from the back of the salon so I could bring in the pram.
The service was absolutely amazing. I felt so comfortable and welcomed. They not only took food care of me but also my newborn as Paige also talked and distracted her while I was relaxing getting my hair washed.
Amanda also made sure that my hair was covered when there were intervals of waiting so when I fed my newborn that I wouldn't get any dye near her. They made me feel so comfortable .
Here I am now, a week later with vibrant copper hair am so happy I have found a salon to keep coming back to.

Dropped my mum off at 11. Only for them to say come at 11:20. Then when it was time for her appointment, the door was locked so she called them 5 times and by this time it was going towards 12, they finally answered her call and the lady says she has to take her kids to a doctors appointment. Very unprofessional. We drove very far just for this to happen. If it was me I wouldn’t care as much but because this happened to my mum?? Disgusting.
Virginia did my hair yesterday. Her hands are magical. I've never had a head massage this nice ever. She did an absolute fantastic job. I am so happy with my haircut. Virginia is amazing. I am so impressed with her attention to detail, sweet nature and professional attitude. Thank you again.
Booked an appointment with this salon on Monday for a Friday appointment with a deposit. Requested details of what was available for extensions with no response via text. Messaged them again on another platform (FB) with the same question. Finally responded and said they only had wigs, not bundles knowing full well the service I had booked. I assume they would've tried to convince me to sew a whole wig to my head to not lose the booking or I would've lost my whole deposit had i refused on the day.

Her terms and conditions state fees only for cancellation fees when appointments are within 24 hours so this is highly unfair. Lets recaps, I am charged 20% of my deposit as I cancelled due to her salon not having the available product I booked. This was only evident when I, the customer chased it up to ensure they had what I required for my booking.
She tried to ask me to reschedule but at this point, I'd much prefer spending $800+ elsewhere on a salon with integrity. Read other 1 star reviews. It echoes the same sentiment. Very disappointing and annoying experience.

All I can say Is Lachlan and the team at salon 235 are amazing. I walked in there with red hair which almost every other hair dresser rejected to touch but Lachlan patiently worked on my hair and did a beautiful highlight for me . Highly recommend.

OMG can’t believe I haven’t reviewed Glow On Collins til now. Superb elite hair cutting and styling. The Glow team has recovered my hair from dry spindly, thinning to a wonderful mop. Product, recommendations always to improve my home treatments. Get addicted to looking after your hair with the Glow team. They are SUPERB fun too.
Couldn't recommend this salon more, I've had two great experiences here now and I'm extremely happy with the results. Had a full vivid colouring done, and it turned out better than I could've expected. All the staff are so lovely and listen to what you want and offer great advice. I am SO pleased with my appointment with Amanda! She took time to listen to what I was after, and did exactly what I asked for. She did foils and hand balayage on the ends of my hair, and cut it exactly as per my request. It turned out absolutely gorgeous. I'm a new client to the salon and look forward to returning for my next cut & colour. I have thick, wavy hair that is cut pixie style, and frankly, a lot of hairdressers don't seem to do well with this combination. I was also looking to lighten my hair when it has a strong red undertone. Con provided a very thorough consultation at the beginning, the process of the cut and colour was pleasant, and not rushed, and the end result is as good as I dared hope. I will never go to a "commercial" salon again where clients are pushed in and out as quickly as possible. Con & Grant clearly care that each client gets a bespoke, personalised, caring service. They won’t let you look bad, and I really appreciate them taking the time to talk with you about what you would like. I keep going back because of their honesty and integrity as professionals. This kind of service is hard to find!
Poor consultation skills on part of the hairdresser. I came in to share a very personal concern regarding my hair situation but instead was kicked out and told to "think about it". For your price point (which was not the issue by the way) I expect more care for your customers. I don't doubt his service once you make it to the actual haircut.

I went to Mandi on recommendation from a friend, and I was thrilled with my experience! It was my first time with her and Mandi took the time to ask questions, listen, and discuss her ideas on my hair cut. It was amazing to get such a good cut from such a lovely place. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, too. It was also so nice to see different, fresh styles from everyone employed there! Stoked to have a salon I'm excited to go back to!
What a great Salon. Gina and Amanda are so talented and friendly. I always leave with a hop in my step, refreshed and with great hair. Amanda has a great way of connecting and communicating which I can only describe as very intuitive. I now look forward to getting my hair done and it doesn't cost me my life savings. This morning my hair was at my waist. I’ve been wanting to do the chop chop for years but every time I went to a hairdresser they managed to talk me out of it - "Are you sure? Are you really sure? Oh but it's so long! Nono, let's just cut a bit off it and see how you feel....." and I would come away with a slight trim and much dissatisfaction. Well, today was the day. I even chopped it half off myself before I got there just incase the hairdresser felt burdened cutting it. I am so happy to report that not only did the hairdresser not try and talk me out of my decision, she was happy to do it for me! And not only was she happy to do it for me, it is actually the BEST cut I’ve ever had. Thank you so much Lara, I love it! This was my first time at Bespoke Hair today. I will definitely be going back!
After being a regular client of Con and Grant for 15 years (and now a retiree) I was surprised and disappointed to have the cost of a trim and tint jump from $195 to $230 without notification. So much for friendship and loyalty. I wont be back.
Its always a pleasure coming here and i wouldn't think about going any other hairdressers in Hobart. Mark and his Team are kind, professional and do a fantastic job.

I have been to Hair on Murray several times now and would not go anywhere else. The staff there have been extremely supportive and friendly. My first visit was not long after it had changed hands and the new owner was so warm and open. I felt extremely comfortable going to Sarah for my first hair cut after loosing my hair through radiation treatment. She was sensitive to my needs at the time and made me feel good about myself after knowing a large patch of my hair will never grow back. Since then I have always found the staff to be genuine caring and talented people in what they do. Always accomodating with appointments and lovely to chat to. I look forward to each visit and would encourage anyone looking for a hairdresser to give them a try, they will not disappoint. If you have any problems with their service, styles or performance I suggest that you contact Sarah directly so she can rectify.
After having my hair butchered elsewhere, I went to see Brent and was happy with with what he was proposing as a remedy. The day of my subsequent appointment Lara phoned to ask if I could attend earlier and I agreed. When I arrived it was clear she would be cutting my hair and when I asked where Brent was I was told he was away. They could have phoned me beforehand to offer me a reschedule. Lara was clearly in a hurry and rushed through a shampoo (no conditioning), didn't section off my hair to cut it (just three big chomps) a quick blow dry and I was out in less than 25 minutes. The side which was longer before I attended is now shorter and I have one blunt side and one angled side. It looks terrible. If she had somewhere else to be, it would have been better if she called to reschedule rather than rush through a hair cut. Also, if a stylist is away, the customer should have the option to reschedule. I went ahead with Lara as I'd only visited Brent once and thought maybe Lara is a better stylist.

The worst customer service I’ve ever experienced from a hair salon. Was booked in with Brent but got Lara as Brent was unwell. That’s okay, these things happen. Wish they’d given me the opportunity to rebook with Brent who seems like a decent person. Whereas Lara is rude and dismissive.
I went to get my greys covered. Got home and they were completely visible. Paid $220 so rang up the salon and Lara said to come back in. I was back within the hour. There was another guy there who came and looked at my hair who I asked, ‘I’m not imagining this right? My hair is still grey?’ He completely agreed and asked Lara what she’d done. She told him. He said that what she’d done would actually highlight the greys rather than conceal them. A time was agreed upon to return the following weekend so my hair could be fixed.
I went in this morning but wasn’t there for long. As Lara was consulting with Brent about the best option I sensed her being quite hostile to me, saying over the top of my head, ‘She doesn’t want it brassy but she doesn’t want her greys to show,’ in a curt tone. I’ve been getting my hair dyed blonde for the last decade and brassy is a definite look that people try to avoid. They were asking me what I wanted. I’m not a hairdresser, I’m a teacher, so I wasn’t completely clear with my communication, only that I want my greys concealed and as natural a blonde as possible. I don’t expect the parents whose children I teach to read to understand the reading process. I consider it the hairdresser’s task to know their trade.
Lara continued to be rude in tone and manner so I said to Brent and Lara that I was going to leave it, as I tied my hair in a ponytail, and find another hairdresser because I sensed that Lara was being hostile. She was clearly being cranky. She said with definite tone, ‘I’m not being hostile. It’s in your head.’ She left the chair to return to the counter, at which point she said in a raised voice across the salon, ‘Make sure you pay for your coffee before you leave!’ Brent just looked at me. I said, ‘She is being hostile. It’s not in my head.’ He didn’t say anything, so I said. ‘You don’t go to a salon to get your greys covered, pay $220 and walk out with grey hair.’ He just shrugged his shoulders. I left.

Betty provided a professional consultation n was most helpful and understanding with colour selections n hair length. I found that her suggestions too be what i was very happy with in the final outcome.
The hair assistants were very lovely and also creative in their work ethics.

We went to Hair on Murray for the first time today ....my boys had great haircuts, Rachel was lovely, very friendly and we certainly will be regular clients.....I am looking forward to getting my hair done too !
I have been to Hair On Murray a number of times and have always left the salon completely satisfied. If you have not been to see the girls I suggest you give them a try as I am sure you will be happy with the ‘look' you walk out with, as well as the treatment you receive. Tell them I sent you! :-)
