The coursers are really helpful and intensive, there are many assignments and projects that helped my to develop my technical skills, after graduating there was an opportunity to join real client projects to address their unique business needs, this is crucial to improve soft skills like communication and problem solving, as well as continuous enhance technical skills, and this part of experiences is so important to put in the resume to get an interview. And the teachers, TAs are also very professional and helpful. TAs are online to help students almost everyday even after dinner. Highly recommended to improve yourself at WCD.
Fantastic career board resource! Great way to find employment opportunities in the arts
I have used Canada Career Counselling and Synthesis for Leadership Coaching, applicant testing, Career Strategy and Pathing for myself and others. I highly recommend them for helping me get clarity and insight on what I wanted to achieve and next steps, for challenging my thinking and helping me determine blocks, planning for conversations and holding me accountable. For Leadership coaching, I appreciated the goal setting, tools they provided, assessments and analysis of the content. All helped drive my career forward and be the leader I wanted to be for my team.

I had 2 virtual sessions with the Psychologist for career counselling. The 1st session was getting to know you, followed with a link to complete a test. The assessment was helpful, it was an Interest Inventory, including a report, which we reviewed the second session. The screen was shared and she read off the results of my report. Nearing the end of the session, while I was talking, she opened her email and started typing to reply to a client, with the screen still shared. I was appalled by the unprofessionalism and lack of client confidentiality. Needless to say I did not rebook. It was fairly expensive, and other than having a copy of the interest assessment, it wasn’t very helpful at all.
Such an awesome place! It's so refreshing to talk outloud about the way you feel about your career, and it's super important too! You need to do what you love and working with Nina helped me find direction. I would recommend this place to everyone I know and I absolutely cannot say enough good things about it!

WARNING - DO NOT WASTE A PENNY ON THIER DATA ENGINEERING PROGRAM AS IT'S A RECIPE FOR DISASTER!!!

I completed their Applied Business Intelligence program, however their Data Engineering program wasn't good and this review is purely about DE program.
Background: I worked in traditional ETL space for a while, know data modeling, most of the lingo in the data space.

Most of the companies out there will ask interview questions on SQL, Data Structures and Algorithms for any of the Data Engineering roles. You will not learn any of those skills in this course whatsoever.

The biggest problem I encountered is there's way too many tools squeezed into this DE program. You don't get fair amount of depth and wide knowledge on any of those tools because you're rushing onto the next without having your foundations strong.
We started with Docker, didn't quite learn much and teaching style of that particular instructor didn't help whatsoever to pick up any bits and pieces of docker commands to deploy applications. I remember almost everyone in my class struggled to capture the docker concepts. When instructor asked in our class if we're feeling confident about docker then everyone said, no, we're not and confused. Some even said that they will have too google or take a separate docker class or lessons to pickup those skills.

The data modeling module was good since the instructor had pretty good background, took his own time to explain the concepts in depth. Almost everyone is the class felt happy about that topic. In data engineering, data modeling is crucial part of building infrastructure. Hence, the extra time and effort to get through those concepts are very important for anyone. If the data in the fact table is not stored at the right granularity then entire data model can go wrong. I was happy that they assigned an experience instructor to that module. Forgot his name but he works as an Analytics Engineer.

Spark is another important tool to know in order to survive in data engineering space. I personally think, they should have at least assigned 8-10 weeks for this topic since it's not easy to pick up Spark. There's lot to learn about Spark from in-memory, caching, optimizations, performance tuning, optimization, bucketing. Only some topics were covered to good depth while other areas were skimmed.
There was lot of AWS infrastructure work we had to do like setting up network, IP's, firewalls which could also be done using Terraform (Infrastructure as a Code), but we did lot of manual work.

Overall, it didn't stand up to my expectations and had to drop half-way through the program. Couldn't transfer any of the amount I paid for DE program to another program of theirs and had to pay full fee for the Applied Business Intelligence program.

It wasn't worth paying all that heavy $$$$ to sit through a program that doesn't teach you a lot. I personally don't recommend anyone enrolling into their data engineering program.
Hello Santosh. I want to thank you for your professional advice and help, it really helped me to successfully pass two job interviews. Now I have my first job in Canada and I am very happy. However, I am very grateful to you and my case manager Nadra for the professional help and support provided.
If you're new to Canada and looking for a job opportunity, I highly recommend visiting WorkBC Burnaby Metrotown.
All the staff are friendly and supportive, you can get many takeaways from their workshop.

Highly recommend! Career counselling was a great investment into my future. The staff is great and the expertise of my Psychologist really helped me to make concrete steps in a new direction.
I had the pleasure of dealing with Ann Browne as a candidate, and I cannot recommend her enough! She is incredibly kind, demonstrates unparalleled professionalism, and offers exceptionally useful and relevant advice!

Clément D.
As it not necessarily easy nowadays to find a job, thankfully I found Ann!

Ann is a remarkable professional who excels in her field. As a fully bilingual individual, she seamlessly navigates between English and French, so it helps in any setting! One of Ann's standout qualities is her in-depth knowledge of any industry, which is reflected in her high-quality output.

She is such an energetic and committed individual, always bringing a high level of enthusiasm to her work. Her involvement in helping you is not just a job, it's a passion. Her commitment to her tasks is unwavering, and she consistently goes the extra mile to help you find what's best for you!
I highly recommend her!
Santosh at WorkBC is amazing! She's incredibly helpful and goes the extra mile to assist. Her Job Interviews workshop was awesome and her assignment to practice interview questions was a game-changer.
I have only great things to say about my experience here. I was extremely lucky to work with Subrath, and as I am happy I finally found a job, I am sad I won’t have my bi-weekly chats with him anymore! Very helpful, understanding and attentive. I wish all the people on this planet had at least half of the empathy, optimism and knowledge as this man. Subrath, thank you for helping me survive this year!
Ann helped me recruit top sales talent of different seniority for two years whilst at my previous firm. Her passion for recruitment is unmatched and the quality of her work and candidates is always spot on! She cares deeply for her clients and her candidates alike - always keeping everyone's best interest at heart.
Thank you, Ann!

Ann Browne Recruiting is absolutely fantastic. I had been struggling for a while to find the perfect job, but then I had the privilege of meeting Ann. Her guidance and industry knowledge are truly top-notch, but what sets her apart is the meticulous attention she pays to every little detail. It's like forging a lifelong connection with her. I am incredibly grateful that she was my recruiter. Ann Browne Recruiting is a gem!
I love my job. I love my business. I am always looking for ways to improve - and CCC's processes helped me to dig deeper into my business and also my personal life - areas I could focus on for greater ease, as I work towards my dreams. Thank you Dr. L and CCC
People there are so nice and kind. Negin is the one handling me, it was very nice talking to her. Will be back there again on my next appointment.
I really enjoyed the workshop on Job Interviews by Santosh Bhatti. She gave us an assignment to develop and practice answers to common interview questions which helped me land a second interview with a prospective employer. My Employment Consultant, Farbod Gharbi has been quite supportive in helping me with my professional development. I'm grateful to WorkBC for walking this journey with me
This place let me down and its entirety and feel to accomplish anything.
All of the programs left absolutely nothing and now they have my stuff on record for seven years, which is just ridiculous to say the least that you can’t have it removed.
They did nothing to help me find meaningful employment, and their job development team did absolutely nothing.
The manager in charge was very rude and unprofessional when I called out their lack of effort and ended up closing my file because they knew they were wrong and can do anything.
These programs seem to help immigrants over Canadians and it doesn’t matter what level of experience or education you have they just have no balance in what they can do.
The advertisement that you see on the sky train her completely false when it says that “we put you you in front of employers.” You would think they would call the BC government and have this changed but no if they insist on false advertising.
Stay away from these places, and the job finding system in this province and country is a complete joke and quite sick of you asked me.
Ann is a person with an amazing level of energy, her passion for what she does set her apart from the other recruiters. Thanks to her I landed a job in 3 days time. She was there every step of the way to coach me, encourage me and to congratulate me when the mission was accomplished.
If you hear from Ann consider the job done!!
I'd like thank you all of the great team of Work BC, specially Santosh and Nahed. Those who helped me to start my career in Canada as a new comer. Throughout my job search, I learned that the process should not be taken personally, but rather requires patience and self-confidence in one's own abilities. With perseverance and determination, success is simply a matter of time.
Denies access to support, funding, and training. All lies. All the good staff I worked with always quit within less than 6 months. The ones remaining always treat me poorly and rejects help. Laughs when I am stressed out about money. Ghosts me when I need help and at scheduled appointments. Hatethisplace
I am so happy that I reached out to Work BC to get my Automotive training !! All the team are amazing, Ana, Catherine and Judy. Since the beginning they did their best to help me, Catherine and Judy are very knowledgeable and professional. Catherine worked around the clock to get my application processed in time, and Judy from the financial department was amazingly supportive and got my application approved in time to start my training.
I cannot express in words how thankful I am!! I, definitely, recommend Work BC -Burnaby Metrotown Services !!!
I had a great experience with WorkBc Burnaby-Metrotown. Thank you for providing all the resources - from orientation to workshops and more. I want to thank all the staff involved in my job search. Thank you, Nadra, my Employment Consultant and Giggs, my Job Developer. Giggs always followed up with my applications, sent me job postings tirelessly, and eventually referred me to my current company (2 months now). Thank you for the interview tips, too! It helped me with my confidence during the in-person interview. I appreciate all the support, effort and time.
P.S Thank you also to Santosh (Job Developer), whom I personally met at the Metrotown office. You have lifted us up with your kind words and encouragement from the challenges of finding employment.
I definitely recommend them if you are looking for employment. Thank you all!
Majid Ghobadi, my employment consultant at Burnaby-Brentwood WorkBC Centre was so helpful. He supported me trough the whole entire process to find a job for me and I am very thankful for the mock interview that he has done so I felt confident on my interviews. Working on line with him made the whole entire process much easier.
I wish all the best to Dionne Chan for her support as well and to Leah Goodwin for helping me with my resume!

I mostly contacted the WorkBC program via emails though, I could feel that all the staff were friendly and willing to support their customers. My Employment Consultant is Majid who replied to me back with great services and Withana is the Financial Supports Clerk who always processes for the funding program I needed promptly. Tina was the only person I met in person when I visited WorkBC to get help to complete my resume and cover letter, she was such a kind and cheerful person. I think WorkBC has a lot of great programs to support people who want to get a new job or upgrade their career, so don't hesitate to visit them.

I attended WeCloudData Applied BI program in 2022 Jan and finished in early April. After the course I was assigned a mentor helping with my resume and interviews, from June to until I landed a DA position in September. It was a very comprehensive program, covering different business industries knowledge and required technical skills.

Every instructor, TA and mentor at WeCloudData are all responsible and helpful, they always would love to share their experience. I'm very glad that I made the decision to grow with WeCloudData. I highly recommend this program/institution. At the same time, I must say even with all the assistance how far you can go is depending on your determination and how much efforts you make.
It was the best experience to get job information such as interview skills, resume editing and hiring fairs. They helped me a lot and supported me mentally as well(made me more confident and cheerful)!
I couldn't believe that I didn't know WorkBC before.
The best thing is that they have a bunch of workshops related to the jobs. You can get professional support from them too!

WorkBC Metrotown workers are so friendly and helpful. They put a lot of effort into everything for me. They were always there for me when I needed help. And even now, my case manager follows me up and helps me out.
Thank you, Sophia, Nathaniel, Christine and Anna. Thank you for all, you guys made me here. Again thank you so much.
You are the best.
I am so grateful and happy to have this opportunity, during my career journey, to get help from WorkBC Brentwood Burnaby branch. It has very friendly and helpful staff and receptionist. They are wonderful team. I appreciate my Employment counselor, Mr. Majid Ghobadi who informs me for all job tools, I need for career planning and Tina Hatch who helped me to build my resume and my cover letter. Both Majid and Tina are very professional, knowledgeable and resourceful, so working with them is very pleasant moment for me. I highly recommend WorkBC Brentwood Center if you are looking for a career. It is great place to get good assistant.
They are very helpful and very friendly. WorkBC Burnaby Metrotown is one of the best employment organization in Canada. Catherine is my case manager who give me a lot of helpful suggestions. Anne and Daniel are very patient for helping me to amend my resume and cover letter.

Great place to learn new skills, I enrolled for Data Analytics bootcamp by 2021, Post 8 months of completion I have landed role of Senior System Analyst

Some of the pros:
1. Team of lecturers are very knowledgeable and were currently working in Data field
2. They teach what are the required skills (Python, Excel, PowerBI, Big query, Tableau) that is required and how to learn and implement in Data field
3. Part of Bootcamp we were able to work in real time projects which was very useful in adding it as portfolio under Github

Would definitely recommend WeCloudData for any of their Data courses. Its definitely worth the money and time spent
WorkBC Burnaby Metrotown is one of the best employment organization that I have ever been for a decade in Canada. All staff are very friendly and supportive. I am so grateful to my case manager, Sophia who encourages me a lot and offers me a variety of employment resources that really helps me for job search and getting motivated to move on my career. I will keep going for my dream job! Thank you for all your support and it means a lot.
I am very happy that Brentwood WorkBC helped me with employment services. The whole team: Shifana my case manager, Neville, Rene, Alvaro all very professional. My self-confidence improved, my resume was polished, and many opportunities opened up. I got a job after 3 days I finished my course.

I had a great experience with the Business Intelligence bootcamp. It was beginner friendly and well structured. I learned new skills like SQL, Python, Tableau and Power BI and used those skills to work on projects i could add to my portfolio. The course had useful quizzes and assignments to practice my new skills. The icing on the cake is the career guidance where they have a mentorship program. I highly recommend this bootcamp for people looking to pivot into the world of Data Analytics.
I got my data science and big data diploma at WeCloudData this July and absolutely loved the experience here.
The program was fast-paced yet allowed enough time to fully understand the concepts, and practice with different projects. I also enjoyed the projects to be a combination of the skills taught throughout the program. Guest lectures were very helpful for students to improve their learning in a more interactive way. I highly recommend this program and WeCloudData to anyone who wants to launch a data related career with practical, hands-on experience.
I attended the Data Science & Big Data Diploma from WCD. It helped me learn new concepts in Data Science, Big Data and even an introduction to Deep Learning. More importantly, they give you a chance to work with real world projects with interesting clients and present insights. The curriculum is quite comprehensive and well designed. The group assignments, industry guest lectures and discussions were also fun to be a part of.

Even though after few weeks of the course, we had to move the classes online due to the pandemic, they ensured that the learners still have an ongoing engagement and have all the necessary tools and people in place to help with the learning experience. Everyone in their team is extremely helpful, including the lecturers and teaching assistants. They try to guide you as much as possible and give enough personal attention. Only thing that is required of the student is to put in their best effort in the process of learning - be curious (it's a data ''science'' program), follow their instructions, work on your assignments, projects and ask questions.
I have had the pleasure of working with Shifana Zaver-Jamal and Tina Hatch from the Burnaby Brentwood WorkBC location. Shifana has provided me with some excellent employment opportunities along with some websites to watch for new opportunities as they arise. Tina is great with her resume writing skills. She assisted me in updating my resume to make it more presentable to the employer. They both showed continued support and encouragement throughout the process. I am happy to say I will be starting my new job in September.
Thank you Shifana and Tina very much,
Doug McLean
WorkBC Burnaby Metrotown is one of the best Employment Services Centres. Metrotown- WorkBC is headed by a good leader, who actively get engaged with the team. Counselors at Metrotown- WorkBC have genuine interest about our(clients) success. Thanks to Ms.Ada's Resume Writing techniques, both of us managed to secure jobs easily. Even one of the peers in our group said he found this Metrotown center very friendly and effective.
Just finished a year of work with Nina, Michelle and Wahaj at Calgary Career Counselling. It took a year because I needed it to. What I got out of it is a fresh look at my career path, that I am walking in my 50s.
As with anything, one gets out of it what one puts into it. I worked hard, and the great folks at CCC worked hard too, and this was appreciated.
No it's not cheap but, while throwing out other cliche's, you get what you pay for, and here you get a lot. Thanks to the team for your help re-launching me into the big bad world...
Nina is just wonderful. I am so happy I took the step towards meeting with someone to help career plan because work is such an important part of your life! It’s also very nice to have someone to help guide me through the tough times at work. It’s worth every penny. Thank you Dr. Nina! Also, the staff is so incredibly nice! Big thanks to Wahaj, Madison and everyone else there! 😊
Calgary Career Counselling provided excellent service to both our employees and our organization.
One of our employees only needed one session so Calgary Career Counselling didn't feel that it was fair to bill us for it! Only companies that care do those sorts of things.
We highly recommend them.

A great organization run by sector professionals! Work in Culture has so much to offer arts & culture professionals, students and amateurs looking to work in the industry! There are so many resources available on their website and they are quick to respond to email and phone call inquiries!
This program is fantastic!

I didn't have a coding background and the way they prepared each module made it easier to understand from basic concepts to Advanced SQL, Python, ML and Data Science that I just finished. It is all very exciting. They really do prepare you and offer great support (includes problem sets, individually and in group and quizzes). Teachers are well connected and help you, no matter the prior experience. When you graduate, you have a portfolio of projects, a very good literature and also hands on practise what is important as they showcase your writing capability.
