Amazing place. Such a great date idea. Will definitely come back in the future

A cute spot for painting pottery! It has some really cool pottery items and lots of colors, brushes, and some tools. The fine line tool wasn't really fine (thin), but it's okay. The service was good, although the lady who helped us seemed a little annoyed or stressed for some reason. There's nothing too special about this place, but it gets the pottery painting job done well. Would come here again for a fun activity with friends!

Very fun place, lots of options to choose from and it's easy to lose track of time while painting! They let you return to finish your projects so you don't have to worry about finishing it in one go.
The baked and glazed items look incredible!

Fun activity for families, friends, and date nights. Many premade pottery items to choose from and painting them is so therapeutic. A bit pricey for what it is though.
Turnaround time for the painted items is about a week and they’ll call you to notify you whenever the items are ready. My husband and toddler took me here for Mother’s Day and it was a nice experience for the three of us.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Would come back sometime.

Loved this experience and this little studio! Looks like a real artists studio. The workshop we did was really fun and intimate. Eamon is a great instructor! Within the two hours we each made three different items. Looking forward to picking them up!

Love coming here for a chill activity. It’s kid friendly too.
Prices are reasonable and items are ready to pick in one week

We tried the adult beginner wheel throwing class and it was incredible because of Kent. He is an amazing and patient instructor and very knowledgeable of the craft. We learned how to make bowls, candle holders, a chip and dip tray and a ring holder. Thank you Kent for an incredible time!

I took Mie’s hand building class and I can tell you that it was the most fun hand building class I have ever taken (yes I did take some other hand building classes at other studios). She has the perfect balance between guidance and freedom meaning she allows us to put our creativity/ideas out there and meanwhile she guides/supports us so that we can achieve our goal! It definitely shows that she knows what she is doing and that she is good at teaching.
Her studio space is also very nice. The classes are not crowded which allows her to help us out whenever we had questions. She is also bilingual which in my opinion is a great plus! I made in total five pieces which I use on a daily basis now :)
Merci Mie! :)

Took 3 of my students here today. They had a great time. We got there at around 11 and I let them play until 11:55 when I called them to eat lunch. I bought lunch for my sister and myself because we forgot ours at home. It was delicious! The girls went back to playing after lunch, it wasn't so crowded so we were able to have class there. The ride on cars were great- the ones you need to pay for. I payed for 2 per girl. The claw machines are pretty hard to get prizes. We tried for a watch and ended up with a cupcake squishy. We left at 2 and they all wanted to stay and play more. Thank you for our amazing afternoon!

This review pertains to the negative booking experience I had. I registered for a class, took a morning off work and showed up for class on a weekday morning with 2 other people. The class had been cancelled but the communication was not sent to everyone. We waited outside while calling the store several times and leaving voicemails and decided to leave after waiting for 35 minutes. Over the next several weeks, I left several emails and tried calling the store several times, leaving a voicemail. I was seeking a refund or maybe to reschedule the class depending on what happened with the no show. No response. Finally I reached an instructor at the shop via phone weeks later and left my full details but a week went by with no one calling or emailing me despite leaving all pieces of information. Then when I finally get into contact, it's apparently related to emails bouncing back. I have a standard issue Gmail address so it's most likely issues with the business' inbox. When I asked for a refund, they claimed they sent it but I never received it. After following up with the shop again days later, they apparently had an existing customer with my same full name (my name is common enough) - they had sent my refund to this other customer with the same name, despite the fact that I provided the exact email address to send the refund to. It was very frustrating to have to go through this process and I didn't even end up attending a class. Even if I rescheduled the class, could they guarantee the same communication issues won't happen again? This was a huge waste of my time that could have been avoided with a bit of due diligence at any stage of the story.

Good space for the toddlers to go and have some fun. Not a very huge place though.place was clean and was baby proofed. You can get some food and coffee which are limited but nice to have

Had a great time in the 2-hour beginner workshop - so happy with the experience! Highly recommend!!

Amazing ceramics studio with plenty of greenery and natural light. Michelle is a wonderful teacher who has a vast knowledge in pottery and life. Her 6 week classes and open studio are fun, informative and helpful.

I don't really know if it's good. Spent a solid 10 minutes looking in the area to find it. Finally found it, google said its open but I buzzed and got no response. Shame cause it looks amazing from photos.
Edit looks like they had some issues that day. Beautiful store :>
Lil difficult to find though!

You have to try it!

Amazing place to go with my toddler she loves it the structures are clean and they have great food and coffee

Yesterday we took our 3 year old daughter here to play and burn some energy , we were in the area and this venue came up on google. I never write reviews , but this bothered me so much and has effected myself and my family that I feel others and the owner of this place should know.
Yesterday was a “ Passover Special/Discount”, we went simply because we were in the area. Upon entering we noticed it was mainly one culture and 2 other families that were not the same culture . Great not a problem we love everyone and raise our children the same.
Our daughter tried to play with several kids and their parents looked at us with such disgust and removed their child from playing with my child . Another mother covered her kid with a blanket so that my child would not look at hers . When we walked pass them they turned there back to us .
All I have to say is wow ! Never in my life have I felt so unwelcome and discriminated.
I want to say thank you to the other 2 families that were like us for playing with my daughter and making us feel normal .
The owner of this venue in future if we are not welcomed please close your doors and simple state “ private party “ . There is no room for this type of behaviour and nor will it be tolerated . Especially with all that is going on in our world we should know better. Teach your children by example .

I had a horrible experience. I brought my kids here for the first time to enjoy, as we live nearby. One of my kids is in a wheelchair at the moment and he was getting ugly and Weird stares. We felt super uncomfortable. My son was super upset. We had many kids come up to us and just stare at him. I was wondering where the parents were ? and their manners? But sad to say, the parents were the exact same way, staring at my son In a rude way, it made sense why the children acted this way. Truthfully, I cannot tell you if this was due to discrimination or racism or both, but I definitely don’t recommend you to visit this playground if you are a minority or have a disabled child. And to be specific, this was coming from the Jewish community.
Least of my concerns, The service wasn’t great either. I ordered pizza and fries And I didn’t get them at first because the cashier questioned me if I already paid for the fries and told me she forgot about it.
I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt like it was needed as this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had with my son, And I would like to advise parents who relate to be careful.

Fun and intimate place to go to spend time with friends and/or partners! Unfortunately my item chipped and it had to be put in the kiln again. I picked it up and it was still chipped. Although I was okay with this, I was offered to have it be placed in the kiln for a third time. The service is very lovely and helpful. Very informative with the painting process and how to produce the best results, they also offer many stencils and a wide range of paints and clay items to paint!

Upon visiting this with friends, I quickly realized its popularity. It's wise to arrive during off-peak hours as seating operates on a first-come, first-served basis.
Initially, the absence of a greeter at the entrance was noticeable. Staff were available for assistance in the background, though this wasn't immediately apparent. After a brief moment of just standing there looking stupid, I realized there were instructions on a podium which helped guide me through the process. Amidst the lively ambiance, it was a bit overwhelming to digest the information, but I managed to navigate through it and find a seat. I recommend acquainting yourself with the online instructions beforehand for a smoother experience.
The process began with filling out a form, followed by selecting an item to paint from a wide array of choices—a detail I quite appreciated. After deciding on my paint colors, the friendly and passionate staff assisted me with my selections and briefed me on the location of brushes, sponges, and the cleaning station. Despite their busyness, their love for their work shone through, explaining the self-service setup.
The quality of the painting tools, including brushes and sponges, was somewhat worn from frequent use, understandable yet slightly disappointing. However, the availability of stencils was a pleasant addition.
Painting as a novice, my artwork turned out decently, albeit far from professional. A handy tip for fellow beginners: paint in layers and avoid watery paint, utilizing the hairdryer for quick drying sessions.
The experience was economically priced, with my custom-painted mug costing around $30. Overall, my friends and I enjoyed our ourselves, finding value in the experience despite a few minor hiccups.

Nice place for winter to take the child out

Love this little painting shop! We've painted multiple items here in the past. Staff are very friendly. They do clay work on the wheel too. Overall amazing experience here.

A cute pottery painting experience! It’s reasonably priced and fun for at least a few hours at a time!
It can get busy quickly so I’d recommend trying to come at less busy times (evenings on weeknights vs weekends). It’s first come first served.
You pay for the price of the item you choose (no hourly rate) and once you’re finished you can come anytime after 10 business days. Items are held for 30 days.

The best pottery studio! Super cute, chill vibe, and amazing teacher. Hope to be back someday.

Went today with my roommate for an experiential birthday gift and it was super fun! Neither of us had been before but had done similar ceramic painting before. The prices were generally affordable and the staff quite friendly and helpful. A good selection of colours and cute items to paint. The space was a bit small and at times there were a lot of people all at once, as is the nature of places like this. Recommend for a fun artistic experience!

Nice little pottery/ceramics painting studio. When we were there, staff was friendly and helpful. We’ve been to other similar shops before although they were a franchise and prices were pretty in-line with what we were expecting. Thought we’d support the local business here.
So why only 3-stars? We were notified that our daughter’s ceramic creation was ready for pick-up a few days ago and though we’d swing by today. We were, however, turned away. The reason? There was a booked party happening in the room at the *back* of the store (front was empty) and we had to return another time. We were a little puzzled and clarified that we were only picking up and no looking to paint. But nope — denied once again. Apparently that was too much of a burden on their workload.
They should give better instructions about calling first before pick-up to save customers the frustration of being turned away. Or just save yoursef the trouble and head to Crock A Doodle Unionville just a couple of blocks west.
EDIT Response 20240122: "...served exactly when I want to." Classy.
Instead of trying to make me sound entitled, perhaps you can look inwards and refine your own processes like I suggested. Perhaps even remove the "Walk-ins welcome" sticker on your door as that's clearly not the case. As for the party, it was in the back room with nobody/no items out front. And I was not looking to walk in the back of your shop either. I was ~1m into the door just wanted to pick up my daughter's creation which is likely one of the ones in a paper bag and likely labeled on your shelves that typically the store would bring to the customer...y'know to prevent us from rummaging around and inadvertently breaking things. I just wanted to make that clear so you don't think I'm upset because I wasn't being waited on hand and foot.
EDIT 20240123: up’d it to 3-stars as 2 was probably a little harsh.

Such a well run, clean and supportive environment to create in. Get on their waitlist!

Very nice playground for younger kids I would say up to 6 years old. Good for toddlers as it is not very challenging overall and easy for parents to follow and keep track of their kids whereabouts. Also has a separate arts and crafts section for booking. I will be back

Wide variety of play options available, including the climbers/slides/trampolines, large Lego blocks, coin operated rides, make believe play area, cosy coups, a designated toddler area, and a separate craft area. It's a tad dark in the play structure but that didn't seem to bother the kids. The make believe area was missing some probs/toys to enhance the experience, but those are likely easily lost/broken. The slides in the toddler section were tough for my little one to climb up independently given the height of the steps.
Cafe offers some decent family fare, and coffee options (they have an espresso machine and made a pretty tasty cappuccino).
Other reviews noted that the bathrooms were dirty, but this was not my experience. The space is aged, but was clean. Staff were also seen cleaning the cafe seating area.

Great collection of clay and porcelain works. The museum is moderately sized but densely packed - expect to spend a few hours in here if you want to appreciate everything.

I took a throwing class here and had a wonderful experience! It’s a friendly environment for beginners with great teachers. Plus, they offer really cool glazes that immediately make your pieces look well finished! Highly recommended!

my favorite museum in toronto so far! the ceramic pieces were very delicate with fine details, accompanied by thoughtful explanations / captions. the hallway / staircase featured an exhibition on queer body, with plants, paintings and ceramics, a great addition to the experience. museums cafe and outdoor patio were also delightful.

*review for Gardiner Museum pottery classes*
We were so excited to try pottery classes at the Gardiner as it's really hard to get spots in their drop-in classes. Due to the process, there were a few more costs than just the class fee. You have to attend at least two classes, and after each class, each piece has to be glazed. In total for two people, it cost us $108. This process is described on their website, so we should've read that in more detail.
Our first class was a bit different from expectations. We selected the hand-building option, while another side of the class was learning how to use the wheel. The instructor that day seemed very focused on the wheel students, and gave the rest of us next to no instruction. Nevertheless, it was a fun experience to get familiar with the clay, and the Gardiner is well equipped with everything you need to make pottery. When you're done your class, you can also take a gander at the museum's exhibits.
At our second class where we were painting our pieces, we realized just what we missed out on in our first class. The instructor this time outlined various tools that you could use to roll out a pattern on your pottery, the different molds available that you could use to shape your clay, and was overall more detailed in her instruction for both the hand-building and wheel students. We were already at the painting step so we couldn't go back and refine our pieces, but I wish we had gotten all of this information in the first class. I guess it's a bit of a lottery on the instructor you get.
Unfortunately, when we went to pick up our pieces (now on our third visit), the staff were unable to find our pottery. After some searching in different cabinets, the front desk staff said that it's possible there was some delay in firing our pieces, so the Gardiner would contact us when our pieces were found. After several weeks of radio silence, I emailed the museum again. It was confirmed shortly after that our works were lost. The initial offer we received was a refund of 2 firing fees (aka $10). We were shocked by this suggestion, and after some back-and-forth, only managed to get $54 refunded (half of our total expenses). Though we did still get a valuable experience from the classes, I would think that a museum would empathize with losing one's works. We would've really loved to take home our pieces. Now, we would have to spend another $108 if we wanted to have a tangible output. We don't live super close to the museum, so that won't be worth it for us.
I hope that others are able to have a more positive experience.

Been wanting to visit the Gardiner Museum because it is right opposite the ROM. Finally visited today, and I was not disappointed. The museum specializes in clay and ceramic works . It has beautiful displays from all over the world both contemporary and ancient. If you want a quiet place to look at art without being overwhelmed then this is the place to visit. Was so lucky to even meet one of the local Canadian artists Silvana Michetti. She took time to explain to me how she makes her pieces. Her art is exquisite! Tickets are $15 for adults but admission is free on Wednesday afternoons from 4pm. And presto card holders get 20% off.
Pro-tip: You can get in for free if you have a reservation at the Clay Restaurant but note that the restaurant is only open from 11am-3pm.

Beautiful hidden gem. Stunning exterior and even cozier on the inside. Very clean with beautiful lighting and lots to see without it being overwhelming like the ROM or AGO. Staff were absolutely wonderful and very helpful for my first visit. Can’t wait to come back!

Had an amazing couples pottery session with Phillis. She truly makes the experience comfortable and fun.
Highly recommend!
Highly recommend!

Thoroughly enjoyed our experience learning how to use the wheel and made 3 pieces to take home (in 6 weeks time) in a 2 hour workshop. Emails and phone calls can be slow but it's because this is a very popular pottery experience + Paul does classes for adults and kids as well. We are so happy we found this gem. The glaze and painting are done for you so that in the time you get you can focus on learning to control hand movements + pressure. Paul is an excellent conversationalist, very encouraging, and hilarious. 😂
Highly recommend the experience for those who want to take a take off of work to do something creative and relaxing during the day on a weekday!

Walk by this all the time to go to the ROM and didn't even know it existed until yesterday. It was a great experience to learn about all the pottery and clay and all the history. Good for a visit. I was reading all the banners and descriptions finding myself lost in history. I even learned something new about bone China. Will definitely return to do some pottery, that looks fun too! Yes and bring your presto card.

my first time ever... Our teacher Valentina was very knowledgeable, i felt very comfortable! I'd recommend this pottery class to everyone!!!

Great experience ! in a magnificent place !

Fun place for a Friday date night or girls' night! We took the beginner wheel throwing class, and it was such a relaxing and fun experience. Kent, our instructor, was super friendly, patient, and funny. He taught us the basics and came around to help us if we had any questions. The class was a nice small size of 6 people. At the end of class, you get to choose a piece to go into the kiln and come back at another time to paint it for an additional cost. Definitely want to come back again to do more wheel throwing!

AMAZING experience at Clay Design!! If you are thinking about doing one of their workshops you absolutely must. The staff are talented experts in their craft, and above all, extremely kind, wonderful people. Phillis is a real life fairy godmother. Hans was so helpful during booking and promptly answered all of my email questions. I booked a 3 hour workshop as a gift to my partner and we had so much fun learning and experimenting with ceramic making. Imagine your favourite art class from school but a million times better. Worth every penny and honestly so much more. THANK YOU!

I had so much fun taking the beginner wheel throwing course at Mie’s studio. So much so that I took a second course to further develop my skills. Nhu was a great instructor! She is knowledgeable, fun and helpful, and most importantly patient. The studio is clean & bright and a really pleasant setting altogether. I would highly recommend the course to anyone!

Wonderful studio! I’ve taken 3 six-week wheel throwing courses and had the pleasure of learning from Alena and Nhu. I appreciated both of these instructors so much and feel I’ve benefited equally from their different approaches to teaching. With so much to learn as a novice, I find a balance between emphasizing technique and allowing room for experimentation is really important and these instructors gave me that balance. Now I just have to keep practicing for 1000 more years before I feel any good at it… haha! Jokes aside, I highly recommend this studio for learning the basics and beyond, alongside competent and talented artists, not to mention with a beautiful view of Mie’s stunning works in progress.

I received a pottery class at Mie Kim as a Christmas gift, and didn't know what to make of it... until i sat and tried it out. Our teacher Nhu was so sweet and pleasant, and the class was full of fun people. We ended up with new skills, nice pottery and new friends. My wife and I are looking forward to doing it all again. Highly recommended!

Had a lovely experience!!! Paul was patient and kind and such an excellent teacher. He played good music and was fun to work with. The class took a while to book, but 5 stars because the Groupon doesn't expire, Paul is responsive, and it was a very personal workshop. It's not a huge production, and I enjoyed that more than anything. Would absolutely return.

I loved everything about this museum, came across a tiktok about the Wednesday clay classes. Thankfully we found a spot for it! Had so much fun with my friend. Spent at least 2 hours. If you’re a fan of porcelain and miniatures this place is definitely for you! Our teacher was also very helpful and it was our first time making these.

Unique and interesting museum right across the ROM! It’s not as big but it features a wide selection of pottery, ceramics, and sculpture from different regions of the world. I really enjoyed the Housewarming exhibit. Definitely worth the visit!

I had the pleasure of following 2 sessions at Mie’s wonderful pottery studio and it was a fantastic experience! I was lucky to be taught by Mie who is clearly very passionate about her craft. She was an absolute joy to work with; her artistic touch and attention to detail were extremely inspiring.
The studio itself is great, with everything you could possibly need to create your own pottery pieces. The space is very roomy, making it easy to work on projects without feeling cramped or confined.
Overall, I would highly recommend Mie’s pottery studio to anyone who is interested in exploring their creative side. With a talented teacher, great facilities and a welcoming atmosphere, this studio is the perfect place to learn and grow!
I am so grateful for Mie's studio; I can’t wait for my next session :)

This is great place for kids and adults that enjoy crafts! You pick out the items you want to paint from a fairly large collection of ceramics. They have animals and other general items like fruits and utensils, we went with animals. Next you get to pick 3 colors per person painting and they refill them for you as needed. The whole process took about an hour with my niece.
Once done, you leave it with them for 5 days for the ceramic to be baked and they text you when it's ready for pickup. Haven't got ours yet but some of the finished ones we saw looked really good.
They also have a glow in the dark party room for larger groups.

I love this pottery studio.
I’ve been a member since 2014 ind seen one transition of ownership in my time. The owner Karie is wonderful and keeps the studio humming with supplies, kiln firings, manu glaze options and clean-up.
There are many options to attend the studio depending on your time and budget. You can join as an open studio member like myself, take classes or book parties with family and friends.
When faced with choosing where to spend my allotted personal and creative time (outside of work and raising my family), nothing beats my membership with this studio where I can play, invent and explore new creative avenues. It feeds my soul.
A bonus on top of everything is that the folks who come to the studio and who I pot with are absolutely lovely, helpful and kind. I’m so happy when I walk in and see those familiar faces.
It’s a wonderful place and I am so great full that it exists :)
Thank you, Karie for sharing this special place with us all.
I am so excited about these new mugs I am exploring and cool platter I’ve been seeing on Instagram.

I love coming here! The staff are friendly and helpful and they have a great selection of things to paint. I have so much fun here and would love to come more often. They also have other activities besides just pottery painting. This is a great place to come for a birthday activity, talking with friends, or even a date. Can’t wait to come back!

This is a wonderful studio offering classes and studio time. The studio time is supported by knowledgeable artists who are happy to assist and answer questions. Karie can’t be beat! Here is a couple of pieces I was able to create at the studio.

I have a wonderful experience every time I come into this cute little shop. The staff are generally helpful and answer any silly questions I have, and create a welcoming space. Nice variety of local artists to shop from. My wife gifted me a certificate for a private class, I can't wait to get my hands dirty!

Avoid visiting this place and save your time. The staff are bad tempered and unfriendly. Hundred percent agree with another reviewer. There are wonderful other pottery studios in Toronto like Clay With Me that are welcoming with warm positive energy.

Amazing place!

Great shop, did the 3 pot making class and loved it. Great instructor, very fun and knowledgeable. We made 3 creations (you essentially make what you want/can) and overall I'd recommend this to anyone who wants a fun activity. Its a small shop so space is limited to 4 but a lot of fun!

A great shop with some very talented artisans. Highly recommend checking it out!

We had a private introduction pottery class. It was an amazing experience as our instructor was very welcoming, knowledgeable, and patient with us. After one month, I went to pick up the final products for our group and was pleasantly surprised to find all of the ceramics well wrapped individually in a sturdy bag for transport. The final product has a very nice finish that I like very much. I had another class at another studio and definitely prefer my experience at Mie Kim Studio better!

Very beautiful studio, filled with plants and cozy atmosphere! The owner offers classes and workshops that is definitely worth the price! And great atmosphere while doing pottery with the group and the owner :)

Great studio! Michelle has a passion for pottery and it shows! She is a great teacher :)

I did the six week course. I took the course in conjunction with another course with another studio.
Unfortunately many in my class lost work due to over firing or problems with the glaze. While at the other studio not one price was lost by anyone.
I personally lost 4 pieces.

We did a workshop at Clay Design and had an amazing experience! Phillis was very welcoming and a great teacher. We got to try different types of activities and made really nice pieces. Perfect for a date or if you’re just looking to try something new :)

Strongly recommend this place. Very courteous staff (Karie) who made the evening super fun. We did Jewellery making and it was Worth the money spent.

I had a great time attending a 2hr session. The class size is small, and Paul is humourous, patient, and attentive. A great introduction to working with clay! I can't wait to pick up my pieces.

Great selection of different artists' clay work for purchase, either in store (limited pandemic hours at the moment) or online/curbside pickup. Reasonable prices and great options for gifts.
The pottery studio is amazing, the instructors are very experienced ceramicists and the set up is much better than other studios I've taken classes at.

Mie has the most beautiful studio. You can feel her artistic style and expression by simply being there. Mie is also an amazing teacher. She teaches beginner with patience and explains the techniques in great details. Every time I struggled, she always taught me some tips that make all the difference!

Impossible to get a hold of anyone in this place, tried calling, emailing and signed up online and going to the studio while they are supposedly open and no one is reachable or there. Note this has been for over a year.

Denise and Phillis were masterful at their craft, patient and fun! 3hrs went by in a blink of an eye. I really enjoyed the pottery class and totally recommend it whether it be for date night or just to try something new. :)

I love this place. For anyone who's ever been remotely interested in making things with their hands but would rather stay away from power tools, it's perfect. Karie is incredibly friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable. Very fun and relaxing at the same time. Highly recommended as an alternative to meditation.

The best pottery studio I have taken classes at! Incredibly clean, organized and full of fun and interesting tools to work with. Karie is just lovely, she gives great lessons but also facilitates if you decide to do your own projects - so it's truly meant for any skill level. I will definitely be back for more! :D

My wife and I attended a session -- neither of us had worked with clay up to this point -- but the instructor, Paul, was really helpful and takes the time to show you how to improve. He makes it look so easy.
If you've got a couple hours to spare, do yourself a favour and sign up for a class.

It's an amazing place to learn how to make pottery on the wheel.

Very unique and original designs. You'll find find your favorite or great gifts there.

Amazing organization helping people in the community and creating unique clay pieces

What a great day, we came for my daughter's friend/classmates' birthday party and everyone had a blast, not just kids either. An awesome idea that gets you out of the same old birthday party routines where kids are loaded up on sugar, run amok and tire out the parents. Never have I been to a children's party and everyone was quiet and focused on the task at hand. Each child chooses what they kind of mould they want to decorate and the staff walks the kids through the steps of painting them and glazing. Speaking of the staff, they were great and definitely know how to keep the kids motivated and kept it in a laid back atmosphere. Very knowledgeable about products and the goings on with special themed nights. My son and I caught the vibe and want to make a return trip with the family instead of regular game night. Highly recommended

This is an incredible pottery studio for marginalized women in the community. They even make their own glazes. I'm astonished at the skill these women have. Pieces range from whimsical to stunning and everything in between. The government funding has dropped out and now the owner is running it on her own. Please support this amazing studio and dress your home with their beautiful pottery.

Peter is so very accomadating. His pieces are modern and timeless. I love everything I have purchased. He is incredible at creating custom pieces that far exceeded my expectations. Thank you Peter!

What a great place. We have bought pottery a number of times from Peter and keep coming back for more. He makes wonderful art as well as functional pieces. We really appreciated how Peter made a custom large bowl for us that matched our decor and is now a focal point of our new renovated kitchen. Highly recommend him.

Peter's work is playful, with unique forms and colours catching the eye. But handling the pieces you find how well crafted they are, their shape and weight making them wonderfully functional.
Peter's work (and personability) led me to taking lessons with him. He is as skilled a teacher as artist and praise for progress is balanced with encouragement to do a little better each time. I have learned to appreciate the incredible skill and attention to detail he puts into his own work!

My husband and I just love the mugs we bought at Peter's studio. His work is unique and a lot of fun. Peter is also an excellent teacher. My 91 year old mother has been taking pottery classes with Peter for the past 2 years and it is the highlight of her week. She herself was a potter but dementia has affected her short term memory. Peter knows just how to cue her step by step and she is delighted to be working on the wheel again. Thank you Peter!

I liked Peter as soon as I met him and so will anyone else who takes the time to drop in to Blind Alley Arts. His creations are all so unique and well made. I love some for their whimsy and some for their elegance and function. Every time I visit there is a new piece I simply must have. My go to Wedding gift is now always a handcrafted piece with the couples name and wedding date on the bottom. Do your self a favor and pop in. You will be glad you did.

Beautifully crafted art!! Such a great mix of modern and primitive design, and interesting glazes.. Peter is also a great teacher. We learned a lot in his classes and had a blast!!

We commisioned Peter to create mugs to celebrate the 10th anniversary of ROQUA (Ridiculously Old Queen’s University Athletes). They were unique fashionable works of art treasured by all ten members of the group.
We meet yearly and it was our pleasure to host this milestone event in 2015. We wanted to have gifts for everyone to commemorate the event. Peter did not disappoint!
Blind Ally Arts has a variety of excellently crafted pottery items. “Peter the Potter” is a talentented artisan who creates masterpieces at every turn of the wheel.

Extremely cool and functional art. Way different than the usual pottery studios I have been to. Peter (the artist) was amazing to me and my family as he guided us around his studio. If you live in the area, or on your way to the cottage, be sure and check it out.

Incredible studio, the classes are much more affordable than other places in the city and supports the community. Loved the experience here.

I am taking pottery classes there, and Alison is a great instructor. She is really patient and she explains all the steps very well.

Did a private lesson with Dennise for mother's day - great experience! She explained and showed the techniques to us thoroughly, and answered any questions we had. When we needed help, she was readily available, but didn't breathe down our backs.
You can make as many pieces as you want within your time frame - no limit on materials, which is very nice. She even let us stay a little longer to finish up our last pieces before her next class.
Will definitely be going back!
