Hidden unique steel statue at the centre street.
The flame is nice and warm for the winter, and it is a good place to review a bit of history. It has all of the province emblems around the flame, and the date the province was created. The water that runs around the fire is also very satisfying to watch. Warning: the water nearest to the flame is hot enough to burn skin.

It is sophisticated & a pleasure to be based at during my stay in the great city of Ottawa.
So close to Parliament, the Senate, Bank of Canada where I frequent and a stone's throw to Quebec. Bravo...
A beautiful monument. A flame and water composition is very beautiful and symbolic. Each territory and province is represented with its coat of arms, flower, and year it joined the confederation.

Don’t let your husband trick you into walking to Mount Royal then hiking through the woods. You can absolutely take an Uber and get dropped off! 😂 The hike is beautiful if one was dressed appropriately for it and brought water. The over look was beautiful and bathrooms along with a cafe is also available. The cross is a little further from the overlook but I was like what the heck my blowout is ruined and my makeup was already sliding down my face…what’s a little further going to hurt. It was great glad we did it.

Fantastic building and an amazing flame. Outstanding and world class. I would thoroughly recommend visiting the Parliament building and the Centennial Flame

Located On Parliment Hill. The Centennial Flame Looks Like A Fountain With Fire On Top. (I Love The Water Fire Combination Though.) Around It Are The Provincial And Territorial Shields Or Crests. Beautiful Monument
This is a great tribute to Terry Fox with an absolutely stunning view of the Lake, City and the Sleeping Giant.

The staff in the centre are friendly and helpful, and it has clean washrooms for visitors.

Do not stop to the Belvedere, this is place to go if you are looking for more elevation (and the path will let you have great views on the city and the nature).
Tour Guide Connie was very knowledgeable on the area, and the view was spectacular.

Nice monument to see if you're at Parliament Hill. It smells like gas and I'm not sure how the flame is powered because it's a water fountain with flowing water. It's a pretty cool sight to see. Also tells you the years that each of the provinces and territories joined the Dominion of Canada. Very cool piece of history.
It was the first time we stopped here, even though we have been to Thunder Bay a number of times. Very inspiring monument of Terry Fox and all that he has and is still accomplishing. Beautiful view of the sleeping giant. A must stop.
Nice place with nice view in Quebec city!

Nice trails to get there and interesting to see the cross. Not really great views from there as it is set back in the trees, but if you are climbing up to the top of Mont Royal, it is worth the walk to see it.

Nice to visit once!
Beautiful. The view is fantastic- oversees the city of Thunder Bay. The memorial is so well done and the grounds are really well kept. It is easy to get to off the highway so even if you are driving though Thunder Bay, it is an easy spot to get to.
Bathrooms could use some care though.

Beautiful place.
It has racoons nearby the cross, around the bus stop.
Mount Royal Cross: Journeying through the labyrinth of pathways that traverse Mount Royal Park unveils a splendid revelation at its pinnacle—the iconic Mount Royal Cross.

This towering structure, an epitome of grace and grandeur, offers more than just a vantage point—it provides refuge from the sun's embrace on a scorching summer day. The cross's expansive dimensions grant solace beneath its shade, allowing visitors to linger and absorb the breathtaking panorama that unfolds.

Beyond its physical presence, the Mount Royal Cross is a sanctuary of contemplation. Amidst the rustling leaves and the chorus of nature, one can't help but be drawn into a state of serenity, where thoughts intertwine with the whispering winds and the rustling of leaves.

As daylight wanes and the skies are painted in the hues of twilight, the cross undergoes a transformation. Illuminated against the canvas of night, its silhouette stands as a beacon that reaches far beyond its perch. This radiant display serves as both a landmark and an inspiration, a tangible reminder of the enduring spirit that Mount Royal embodies.

In summation, the Mount Royal Cross is more than an architectural marvel—It's a place where solace and splendor intertwine, where nature's symphony plays out against a backdrop of urban wonder. From its ample shade to the contemplative aura it exudes, the Mount Royal Cross is an emblem of nature's resplendent embrace.
The combination of a flame coming out of a stream of water has a symbolic significance, which makes this piece particularly interesting in Parliament Hill. There are a lot of people gathered all the time around this pool with a burning flame in the middle.
Beautiful! Worth the stop. Thunder Bay information center here too. Picked up dinner helpful pamphlets, magazines, and maps of the surrounding area.

Not a very impressive monument, but right next to the river, Chateau Frontenac and a Capybara that lives in the flowers next to the monument!

This monument is placed in a great location. You can see the full view of St. Lawrence River. Nearby paid parking available. Great restaurants nearby. Good to walk with family and friends
Great monument to a brave young adult. Lots of information regarding Terry's condition and journey and a beautiful stop to overlook the whole area. There are binoculars to help see boats on the lake, and distant shorelines as well.
Plenty of parking, wheelchair accessible, bathrooms available and an information building which covers attractions in the Thunder Bay area.
What a stunning place. The memorial is just beautiful. The view beyond the memorial, across the highway, is breathtaking. Lake Superior is a sight to see and sometimes you'll see ships going by. I just want to give a shout out to whoever takes care of this site. Very clean and wonderfully kept. Thank you for such a memorable time for our family. The kids loved it.
(Side note: areas around our end of Lake Superior were quite foggy that's why I only have 1 photo but been here some time ago on a clear day, absolutely stunning)

I've taken many pictures of it.
Every inch and bolt.
It's really fun to see every element used to create it.
Really Beautiful work of art.
Next to the Salt Lik
Wonderful Steak and dining.
They once had piece of art, that was magnificent, above your seating.
A Chandelier that covered the ceiling.
I did ask how much it was.
It was Magnificent.

Perhaps the Restaurant site might show it.

Excellent dining experience.
Very cozy, yet spacious and bright.

SPIDY doesn't ride horses but loves this one
Beautiful. We stopped randomly, and the lady who was at the info desk , Connie, was awesome!
Very friendly... super knowledgeable about Thunder Bay area. The sleeping giant is quite a sight to see as is the giant Terry monument.
I didn't get to go too far around in park as I was on a time limit but I would definitely return and check out the remaining parts.

This shows Canada is a peace loving and can be a peace Making country shown by the Lester Baines Pearson , who had Canada get involved to separate the parties in the Middle East, and added to its policy by getting between Cypriot Greeks and Turkey, which to this day has separated the Beautiful Island.

This is such a wonderful and meaningful addition to the complex! The flame looks even more beautiful while it’s snowing or it’s cold out and signifies so much more than just an architectural addition. Seek out if you are visiting and definitely take some slow motion shots if you can, it’s beautiful and warm. It is in the greater Parliament Hill complex so part of visiting all the spots as a tourist, don’t miss it.
I am the homeless guy that was displaying stationary acrobatics.

Nice walk, no difficult to reach. I’ve been there during winter and autumn seasons and both are beautiful. The cross is basically the summit of the walk.

A really beautiful place that's rightly a UNESCO Monument as well. You'll catch a lot of fun street performers as well. Overall, the place has a very nice ambience.

The walk inside the city for me started from this point and then I went across the parliament to the war museum and ended at CF mall.
Felt like going through the stages of the time from past to present.

Enjoy an incredible view and a beautiful walk!
You can enjoy the funicular from there to get to Le Petit Champlain area.
5 stars view, highly recommended! A must!
This rock is a vital piece of our dark history and a vital lesson in this city, however it should never have been moved. No politician should have a say about it's location.

Founded in the early 17th century by the French explorer Champlain, Old Quebec is surrounded by a wall with multiple bastions, gates, and fortifications, and is the only city in North America to have preserved it intact. The Upper Town, built on top of the cliff, is still the religious and administrative center and has many churches, convents and other monuments such as the Dauphine stronghold, the citadel and the Frontenac castle.

I was surprised how easy to miss this rock. It’s just in the middle of the road….. I went there to see Irish heritage but missed it in my first try. Feeling bad for Irish people and hoping there will be a museum for it.

I went when no one was around (dusk on an icy winter weekday), and it was so peaceful up there, I got some great pics! If you're into monuments, this one's scale may surprise you up close (you can walk through the base of the cross).
Memorial for Canada's involvement in the Boer War.
beautiful place for photography....
Great memorial to the fallen of a war long past. Historical elements are very detailed as well as the allegories. The fountain does draw the attention further, best seen during the summer.

Well maintained and sits well even with all the modern buildings dominating south of the intersection.

For Canadian history buffs or passerby, a nice stop to sit and reflect even during a lunch break.
For anyone interested in Montreal's Irish heritage, this is a must.
Alongside bthe road not the best place for a memorial, should be moved to the revitalized Griffin Town
Beautiful monument
An Irish monument to the many thousands who died attempting to escape the Great Hunger in Ireland. Over 6000 dead are marked by this headstone
