Super cute cafe with amazing coffee!! There a lot of tables but a few places with plug ins. Its a great spot to work/study. The prices are cheap considering its a local cafe with house roasted beans! I would totally come back and try more of their food :)

Love their baguettes, chocolate almond croissant. Their brioche is also delicious, soft & fluffy. With this well balanced buttery texture😋😋Mmmm.
The highlight of this cafe is the service from Eda. She always provided excellent service & big smile to her customers 🥰🫶🥐🥖🍰
Thank you 👍🏼

Super friendly, busy and upbeat! My London Fog was terrific and having a gluten free treat option was sooooo nice!

My husband enjoyed his white mocha and french cinnamon roll.

Plus the location is super accessible, relatively wheelchair friendly and they're accommodating! 10/10
This is my husband's favourite place to get a light weekend breakfast, and now it's mine through association. The menu is simple, but very good, and made with absolute care: we usually get the breakfast croissant and the breakfast bullet: both are exceptional. The americanos are consistent and delicious. The service is cool and laid-back, which is a refreshing change from rah-rah barista, fake chat. The plants are beautiful and the space, inviting. The cafe also has a really nice mixed demographic of hipsters, older couples and younger families. In my husbands words, this place shows a complete "pride of ownership".

Decent drink menu. Must decide while standing at the counter. Which I personally didn’t like. QR codes on tables would have been helpful for decision purposes. Not a big food menu at all. 3 items the day my friend and I went. Not sure if that’s normal. Ample seating but must walk down stairs to enter the establishment. If mobility is challenging for you I’d suggest going elsewhere. Decent tasting matcha with honey for $6. Not sure if the value was there but ok none the less. Didn’t overly love it but didn’t hate it. Might be back if a friend suggested it but wouldn’t think to come here again on my own. Has to do with parking as well since it’s paid street parking or paid lot parking. If you live dt and can walk I’d highly suggest that. Staff not overly friendly or helpful I found but they were efficient.
Lovely modern delicious with good vibes. Delicate coffee and fresh pastry, my favorite is their muffin. Plus cudoos for their playlist whoever selecting. Dress up for this cafe as everyone looks so good when coming here

Fair trade, single origin and in house roasted coffee is the feature here. Tried their flat white which was pulled with Ethiopian beans. I'm not usually a big fan of Ethiopian for milk based drinks, but it kinda worked on this occasion. Might have been owing to the high ratio of milk however which the coffee got a bit lost in. May have to give them a fair shake with a straight espresso shot next time.
I love the atmosphere in this place. The interior is beautiful, I love the wooden furnishings, white brick, and green plants. It's so cozy here. It's a great spot to study, work, or do casual things like read a book and journal. I like their windows and natural lighting.

There's a bunch of seating options available and I like their coffee. I got an iced latte with oat milk that was delicious. I can't wait to come back.

One of the worst starbucks. I ordered caramel frappucino through skip from my workplace. They forgot to add straw. When I called them, one lady received the call and she was so rude and said do whatever you can. The worst staff I’ve ever seen.

Nice coffee shop, their mocha was great, my friends had their tea and latte. Pastry was tasty, but you have to ask them to warm it. Only con would be their overall menu selection as it’s pretty limited.

Went on a Sunday afternoon and it was fully packed. It’s paid street parking after 1pm that day or one hour free on one of the side streets if you’re lucky to get a spot.
This is hands down the best coffee in Toronto! I walked in by chance one day not wanting to get Starbucks from across the street and was blown away by how delicious their macchiato was. I never drink coffee in the afternoons and I went back the next day for a cappuccino which was just as delightful. The owner is lovely as well! If you care about your coffee, this is the place to go (and it’s not a $15 cup haha). They even use a device to put lids on to go cups to minimize contact!

Very disappointed about their quality control. The differences of roast level among a single bag of beans is just not right. You can also tell how many defective beans are there.

The owner is from Turkey & is the best!

His wife made all the beautiful mosiac tables you see inside (you can find her shop in the back; where they also roast their own beans!)

Best coffee.
Their baked goods (made on site) are also insane.

Love-love-love this coffee shop!
Delicious coffee and pastries and such a relaxing ambiance.

A huge thank you to the owners for being so welcoming to us, moms, with our huge strollers. It’s very hard to find great coffee shops that would be welcoming/accommodating and this is definitely a great spot. Thank you - Thank you!
Great coffee shop in the Oliver area. One of my favorite coffee shops in Edmonton. It’s in the Oliver Exchange Building, which is a hip multi-use building with a burger bar, bakery, and take-out food catering place all sharing the space. Great vibes and ambience, with adequate seating and friendly service even when they get pretty busy.

I have been using their Ethiopian yirgacheffe beans that they roast in-house for my cold brew at home for the past year and it is always consistently good. Fruity but balanced without too much acidity. The 2 lb bag is very affordable for freshly roasted beans, and you get a free coffee with each purchase. They also have an espresso roast if that’s your thing.

The food is good but sometimes takes a while to arrive after ordering.

Overall a great coffee shop / roaster that is worth visiting.

Visited Arvo Coffee in Toronto's Distillery District and was impressed. The cozy, rustic-modern cafe has friendly staff and excellent coffee. Their signature latte and fresh pastries stood out, though seating can be tight during peak times. A great spot for quality coffee and a relaxed vibe, despite the occasional crowd. Worth a visit for coffee lovers and those exploring the area.

Everytime I come here, everyone is in such a great mood and the coffee???? Oh the coffee is perfection. This is my #1 recommended coffee shop to everyone who visits Edmonton. My partner and I also used to work a block or two away and would make the trek in -40 just to grab our coffee (and breakfast sandwiches) here. Do yourself a favour and visit!

We live in the US, but love going to De Mello's for coffee when we're in Toronto! They make a lovely espresso, and have a great selection of coffee beans, including a number of light roasts. The staff is super friendly, and knowledgeable and passionate about coffee. They also have coffee gear, so you can pop in if you forgot to pack Aeropres filters or other gear.

I saw a blueberry latte here on social media because I am someone who loves to try specialty coffee, so I came here by taxi.
Perhaps due to weekdays, the store is not very crowded. I chose a position by the window, and overall it is quite comfortable.
The prices of coffee and bread are not very cheap, but the taste of latte still surprises me. It has a strong blueberry flavor and is my favorite fruit flavored coffee.
It would be better if bread could be heated

Gourmet Flat White in the Distillery District

Made a worthwhile stop at the Distillery Winter Village over the weekend. Couldn't resist treating myself to a superb gourmet coffee at highly rated Arvo. The venue, quaint and cozy offers both indoor and outdoor seating with simple yet organized decor.

Opted for the Flat White, and it easily ranks among the best I've had recently. The espresso boldness, combined velvety milk at the perfect temperature, gave the wake up I needed. The friendly service and efficient coffee preparation pace added to the positive experience. I plan to return, perhaps after the festivities, for a leisurely sit-down, exploring their food offerings while immersing in the atmosphere.

Great baristas, nice location, just don't come here at lunch on a weekday! It gets absolutely overrun by local high schoolers and ruins the atmosphere🙄 plus the number of people sitting on the floor blocking exits etc. creates a serious safety issue. Not to mention the noise, the garbage they leave behind, and the graffiti they carve into the tables.

This was such a fantastic place to stop by and warm up in. It has a pretty cool atmosphere with a lot of sports jerseys and memorabilia for sale. When you walk in tucked away on the back left side you'll see a really nice coffee bar with some seats and wall tables.

I tried the cortado and the flavorful taste was so good. I tried a sweet creamy coffee mixed with an espresso. I ended up asking and purchasing a bag of the coffee included in my review pictures that I ordered. They have a pretty diverse range of beans and types of coffee which goes a long way in coffee bars. The staff explained that they get their coffees from around the world.

The prices were quite fair and I'm always happy to pay for a good taste or flavor. The service was quick and efficient and quite friendly. A great place to stop anytime but more so on a cool winter evening.

I hadn't been here in a few months. So when I heard they were streamlining their service and would only serve prepackaged breakfast meals, I panicked. They only offered 3 options for breakfast, and I chose the breakfast burrito (with meat). The picture I have here is what made me prepared for disappointment - but what a surprise! The same quality of Lockstock ingredients and preparation were put into this and I could TASTE it! Lockstock still has it. Also, for you coffee lovers, the gibralto is *mwah*

The family behind At Origin have crafted such an amazing and welcoming experience. Every time I have been in I have been warmly welcomed and made a delectable drink. The care and attention even goes down to even the fitting of the lid on your to go cup! Pastries are a must try as well. Worth a visit when you are in Davisville or even for driving in just for Origin and then walk this beautiful strip of Bayview.
The food didn’t really taste good for the price they charge. I ate my sand which with the for and knife they gave me and half way through I discovered Jaír in my food and lost my appetite. Latte was good though would be weary of the sandwich menu. I’d get drinks from there again but I’ll never eat here again after the hair in my food. Mentioned it and all I got was a “sorry”.

The Daily Grind is my go-to spot for a great drink on campus! Their seasonal drink specials are so fun to try, and I love that the staff are always super friendly and even remember my usual order.

Sometimes I ask them for recommendations if I'm feeling up for something new that day, and I love that they take the time to ask about my preferences to find something that fits. I've never been disappointed, and have even found some new favorites!

Their fresh daily scones are also delicious and such a good deal for the size - I highly recommend them 😋

If you’re looking for a real croissant in midtown, this is the place you need to come. I could tell from one bite that they use quality ingredients. Staffs are friendly and the service is quick. They offer a variety of baked goods such as croissants, sourdough breads, sandwiches, danishes, tarts, quiches, cakes, cookies etc.

We tried some of their products below.

1. Plain Croissant : 4.5/5
2. Almond Plain Croissant : 4/5
3. Chocolate Almond Croissant : 5/5
- Just delicious. I've never tried the chocolate + almond combo before but they go really well together. Highly recommend.
4. Mustard Twist : 5/5
5. Vanilla & chocolate cookies : 4/5
6. Apple Almond Danish : 5/5
- The texture of baked apples and the layers.. everything about this danish was amazing. I usually don't like the taste of baked apples but this danish? Please try. If you ever see this danish in the basket, just get it. You won't regret it.
7. Pain Au Chocolat : 3/5

I recommend visiting in the morning if you’d like to try various pastries. And maximum 4 people are allowed in the store. I’ll definitely come back and try their cake menus too.

Please get an iced vanilla latte with soy milk at De Mello. The weather was a bit chilly the day I visited so I was originally thinking of getting a hot coffee but I’m so glad I got the iced one.

I actually tried both iced and hot. Both tasted good, but iced latte is more savoury and you can taste stronger vanilla than the hot one. It’s really good so that you won’t regret holding it even in the super cold weather. Me and my friend also tried their strawberry jam scone. Their scone is more on the moist side. I’d recommend them for a light breakfast menu.

What I really liked about this cafe is the cozy vibe you’ll only get at a local cafe and the well designed goods. For your information, we visited around 11 am and it was pretty busy at that time! The staffs are super friendly and easy to talk to. I think I’ll regularly come to this place over Starbucks from now on.
Such a pleasant surprise to find dessert that is actually yum in Toronto. Really lovely tarts - tried the pineapple mango coconut tart and the plum tart. The chocolate cake was yum too.

Croissants were okay. Maybe they’re better fresh.

Very cute little cafe smells awesome!
They have limited seats so you can not sit and enjoy your visit. We try their scones with different flavours such as strawberry, coconut and cheese were so good.
Menu Attached! Stopped by this cafe for a coffee while in Edmonton. Prices are cheaper than most places but the portions are smaller (~12 oz). I got an iced latte with oat milk. The espresso they brew here has more acidic sharp notes so if that’s your thing, then great! I didn’t order any food, but the portions looked very generous and the prices seem reasonable as well. Would want to come back to try other items!

One of my best smashed avocado toast with poached egg I've had so far. Veggie Sensei gives thumbs up 👍

Aussie magic was also very good. Cozy cafe. Lovely. Good service!

Poached egg was excellent and the yolk was dark orange colour flowing slowly mixed with the smashed avocado, SO GOOD!!
I am very happy for have found Jules Cafe while looking for Croissants in the neighbourhood. Pistachio and Almond croissant were amazing, fresh and plenty stuffed. I also tried the Focaccia and I never had one like theirs in Toronto. Definitely a place to return and that worth to pay a visit. Cheese croissant is also something else.
They are busy on the weekend’s morning and my suggestion is a takeout. Even though they offer a dine-in, ot is just two high chairs and no much room gor a group. In general, I am pleased and surprised with the quality and freshness of everything I ordered. The service was also amazing and fast.

Store was looking great as they decorated for Fall. Clean washrooms and so friendly staff . They welcomed me with huge smile which made me feel at ease. I got my food at a reasonable time and to be honest it was a great experience for a fast food place.
Delightful French bakery that I keep coming back to. Pistachio croissant and peach tart are made to perfection. There is generous amount of real pistachio in the croissant and not just some paste. Also tried almond croissant and plum-pistachio tart. Plum pistachio tart is a bit sour. We also had an americano an a cappuccino and they were fair

Jules Cafe Patisserie is a small and popular bakery on Mount pleasant. They are offering a variety of treats and breads. I recently bought from them a great sourdough ray bread that it was amazing. When it comes to the treats my favourite remains the pistachio fig tarts. It seems that they really know how to balance those flavours. The crust alone is so battery that it is worth each cents of the cake. I definitely recommend this place, but be careful on weekends it gets busy and they may run out of your favourite.
I had the lox and eggs and my wife had the lox on a bagel with arugula and it was amazing, the flat white latte was outstanding, the waitress asked if we wanted to try the carrot cake and 😱 it's so moist and the cream cheese on it is divine, definitely one of my favorite coffee places now.

Bought a ham and cheddar hoagie on Monday morning (8/May) and the "date produced" sticker says "5/April". I'm guessing the wrong month is just because they used an old sticker, but why are you selling sandwiches (containing cheese, ham, tomato etc) three whole days after they're made? Why are there not fresh ones at the start of the week, or at least a discount to sell these old ones fast and fairly?

Also, if you buy a cappuccino here, you're expected to add your own cocoa (because a capuccino is only that if it actually has cocoa on top...). But the ONLY shaker on the table is full of cinnamon. They don't tell you that, they don't just add the cocoa for you, I don't know if you're expected to specifically ask them for the key ingredient of a capuccino because maybe they're hiding it behind the counter (in which case, why not add it to the drink themselves, or have a sign directing people to ask them for it??), but twice now i've made the mistake of paying for a capuccino here and ended up with a heap of cinnamon in my drink instead, by mistake.

I also hate that the EFTPOS machine has 15% (the lowest), 20% tipping etc - it's unethical. It is NOT a place that does any table service or dishes, they don't even add a lid for you and they'll still serve you a cocoa-less capuccino with a three-day-old sandwich!

A unique coffee shop with a one-of-a-kind interior. Nice little place to enjoy some chitchat with your friends, or just grab some coffee to go.

They also have a section in the back where you can but merchandise and coffee beans.

Staff are also quite friendly and welcoming.

Would highly recommend!
Fresh food, great atmosphere, and good coffee! This is a great place if you are looking to stop in for a quick lunch, coffee stop, or a place to sit down and study. There is lots of open windows and greenery inside which makes it a very comfortable and relaxing environment to sit in. The food has been amazing every time, I have eaten their veggie burger which was delicious, as well as quite a few different soups that they have offered (different soup everyday) and they have all been delicious and many vegan options, which is amazing. The staff as super chill and welcoming and makes the entire place even better. I would definitely recommend this place as somewhere to go if you’re looking for the best of downtown Edmonton!
One of the bests cafes in mount pleasant😍
The turkish coffee tasted really good & cannot even tell you about that small chocolate beside it. It tasted heavenly.

Their blueberry scone & chocolate croissant tasted awesome. Not too sweet & really fresh. It tasted like homemade bakery. Really liked this place ❤️❤️

Super cozy coffee shop. The lattes were delicious and the breakfast sandwich I had was delicious. I like that it’s kind of dark and located in the basement level away from the traffic of Jasper Ave. The service was interesting - I feel like I got attitude and felt uncomfortable interacting with every single person there, from the girl who took our order at the till, to the one who brought us our food and the one who picked up our dishes. Must have been an off day?!

Have enjoyed coming to Lock Stock for quite some time. There are many coffee establishments within the block but this one has great food offerings, pastries and super java on tap. Their biscuits and kouign-amanns are super.

The space is interesting. It's a bar by night and during the day it serves as a space as a coffee and dining space. It's cozy and functional.

The service is great. Helpful and kind.

How am I only finding out about this place now?! The paste rows are amazing. The croissants are super flaky and buttery. It’s making me hungry just thinking of them now. Missed our bus leaving No Frills and we were exhausted and it was windy and cold. We stepped inside for a moment to take a look and the place was relaxing and inviting. The atmosphere was wonderful. A friendly welcome made it even more tempting to stay and order, and the service was great. We got Italian soda and a London Fog and it was amazing. During our brief visit I decided we'll definitely have to go back, it was so refreshing, a day of pain and exhaustion turned into a refreshing evening.

I love being able to get my coffee at Daily Grind in SUB. I don't always buy coffee and mostly just brew it myself in the morning, but on the days I wake up later or just want a treat, this is my go to.

I really like their Mochaccino if I'm getting a treat, but their standard medium roast is pretty good too. They usually also have a sessional drink like a pumpkin spice latte in the fall.

Also the staff are super friendly and accommodating and are very quick with the orders. I also appreciate knowing that their coffee is Free Trade and that I'm supporting the Students Union as well!

I paid and got my sandwich (Chimichurri chicken), I waited for my frappuccino ( A simple espresso frapp). After seeing 7 people that were behind me get their drink and waiting for 16 minutes, I asked them about it and they said they had forgotten and will make it for me. After 23 minutes I finally got my drink and I asked them to reheat my sandwich. I was late to my class because of this inconvenience, I paid $15 and wasted 23 minutes. Maybe Starbucks doesn’t believe in customer service because I got absolutely no compensation for this huge inconvenience to my day.

Always crazy busy, they aren’t particularly fast, and drinks are regularly made incorrectly. I think the baristas are overworked and undertrained. They do their best.

Okay first off it shouldn’t take 25+ minutes for a normal latté with ice at 2:10pm. Secondly make a drink limit of 1-2 per person not 4-5. Also Line will be 12+ people long with 7 people waiting for drinks and there’ll be one person on register and the baristas will be standing around doing nothing, or itll take two people to make one drink. Consider hiring new staff.

Great quality coffee and very interesting store for sport lovers. The patio is very basic though and a little touchup would make it more convenient and enjoyable!

Great place to go with friends or family! The baristas are happy to serve you and make you a drink you love!
Arena is comfy coffee shop in maple leaf merchandise store. Environment is nice, staff is friendly. Sadly, my order was done with mistake, but barista without hesitation solved the problem. Btw, They serve rich pilot coffee beans.

I bought my girlfriend the Be My Valentine latte from the Daily Grind, and she was very happy with it. The flavour was sweet, and the design of the drink was very cute. It was like valentine’s day in a cup.

Great coffee! Great people! Great experience!

See, that's the thing. You go there for a good coffee, latte, teardrop, etc., etc., and you actually get just that. But that's not all! Oh no. That is not all! Comfy atmosphere, friendly service, fun clientele. Sorry. Words can't explain it. Just come see for yourself!

The worst Starbucks I have ever been. No team work. All the workers don't help each other. The senior worker only do there work so they can get off on time. The junior worker isn't familiar with the process so that take long time to make a drink. Such a long line up!~~we are late for the class……

Delicious salmon fumé ! Chill vibe 😏
Iconoclast is set up in an incredible spot in Oliver. If you can find parking, you will be rewarded with amazing java and try some of their house made treats as well. Highly recommended. I come here often!

Service is friendly. And the space has a cool vibe. You can also use the open space in the OEX hallway or the patio in the summer.

Rudest staff at any Starbucks I've ever been to and they are always under staffed (which could contribute to why they are cranky), which makes them slow and the lines insanely long. Drinks are always inconsistent depending on who's making them and I've had baristas hand me a cup only 3/4 full of coffee because they didn't measure the correct amount of milk for the lattes. Ridiculous.

I love The Daily Grind! Great coffee and quick service; what more could you ask for before an 8am lecture? I get my coffee here every morning! My favourite blend is the Ethiopian (it's a medium roast I believe).
