Really comfy atmosphere, great location and fair prices. Smoking inside the bar is allowed, still it doesn't smell bad. fast and nice service. if you have some time to spare in Uster, you should most definitely visit The Porter House.
Nice place, close to the train station, closed terrasse smoking friendly and one part inside smoking friendly. Good burgers, fast service and local beers.

The real highlight of my visit was our waiter, Andri. He was super friendly and efficient, making the experience fantastic. I walked out very happy. Great job, Andri!
As for the food, the large nachos with extra cheese are, indeed, large and extra cheesy (in a good way). If you’re planning on ordering a main dish, I highly recommend sharing the small nachos instead.

My absolute favorite pub in Zurich. Great staff and the price is on point. It's my go to place to hangout with friends.

Trotz mässiger Belegung 20 Minuten gewartet um mal eine Getränkekarte zu bekommen. Nochmals 10 Minuten gebraucht um zu bestellen. Bestellung ging vergessen. Mit einem neuen Kellner wurde es markant besser, das miserable Gesamterlebnis liess sich aber nicht mehr retten. Schade um die einst gute Bar. 1 Stern.

Als langjähriger Gast, welcher schon etliche 100K im Restaurant des Hotels ausgeben hat, kriegte ich in der Bar nicht mal ein Stuhl, um mir einen Drink zu genehmigen obwohl gefühle 20 Stühle unbesetzt waren. Früher war die Bar auf 5 Stern Niveau aber heute reicht es nicht mal für ein Stern. SCHADE!
Bar onyx staff very bad service looking and make people uncomfortable instead of bringing the right orders, they make fun of clients. Mind your business instead of listening clients discussion. Thank you
Absolutely adore the pub decor, it’s classy, modern and clean. The atmosphere is lively and civilised. The staff are fantastic; incredibly friendly, very helpful and respectful. Great selection of beers and cocktails and really enjoy chicken wings and jalapeños poppers.
An alright pub - was way less crowded than Kennedy's on Thursday night. Murphys instead of Guinness, but that's alright for me. Staff looked a little grumpy and overwhelmed, though service was fast. Nachos are a mountain for some reason, so when the toppings are over one is left with a slightly less mountain of salty chips - there's plenty of topping, but still way more chips, and cheddar solidifies much faster than it's possible to consume even a quarter of that. Why such a humongous portion is beyond me - though was tasty as much as I could stomach, 1/3 would have been quite enough. Overall decent pub, though didn't feel special to me.

I've been going to that place for 3 years... until last night when one of the bar security behaved aggressively and arrogantly... Thursday I was there and I forgot a bag, well last night (January 5)? time 1:30 am I approached the entrance and asked if I could come in and ask about a bag from a store) I forgot the guy, very arrogant: at this time are you coming to ask about your bag?? no you're not going in! I told him, just ask and I'll leave and he chased me the whole time, intimidating me! 1025 is the number on his security identity card, he is tall, white and with a not very long beard) the owners should take action on the matter with that! They do the same to other people! That's discrimination! such a nice bar and excellent bar staff service! but some security should correct that! because it is not right !

Walked past and decided to drop in for dinner. Dinner took a little too long to be served however one could tell that the pub was full house.
You’ll need to find a table & order at the bar counter. They’re very busy all the time. I guess people come to the bar to chill and take their time so that’s fine!

Ordered an Irish and a baileys coffee for 11franks a piece. Next time I would like a full cup of coffee rather than half. To the “lovely” bar man who thinks this is one cup, maybe make the effort to press the button and make one more to fill up the cup. A ridiculous price for that little coffee and the taste was also mediocre.
War ein toller Abend. Getränke und Essen musste an der Bar bestellt werden was völlig normal ist für ein Pub. Das Personal ist freundlich. Essen hat geschmeckt und die Stimmung war gut. Lage auch gut.
Always a fun place to go on weekends, good atmosphere and nice bartenders. Bouncers can be a bit annoying at times with their strange door policy due to Lady Hamilton's upstairs though. Cocktails aren't great either but decent selection of beers. It's a pub, after all...

Brilliant English pub, surprisingly atmospheric, lovely bartenders and really close to the train station, so very convenient for frequent travellers.

Nice pub in the middle of Zürich. Good music, good Guinness. Just keep in mind that in the evening the music might be a bit loud, so talking to unders while sitting at a table could be difficult.
Was there last night, music was so loud that you could not even talk to each other. Empty tables with glasses and people outside smoking, so you could not even see if the table is free or not. Service lady told us its all full and we could not get a table.
Walking around the city of Zurich I came across this venue. Decorated with Halloween trimming. I had a pint of Guinness and a double burger with fries. The girl on the bar with the English accent (who happens to be Swiss) was charming.
Big Ben is actually a nice bar in the middle of Zurich. Selection of beers is good, however there was no kitchen, on a Saturday evening? Good for a quick beer and watching a match, though
Despite the late time for lunch (kitchen was closed), Ahmad was so nice and kind to welcome us with some delicious chicken wings and fries! He covered all our needs with a super attention, greatly appreciated! Definitely a place to try if you're in town.
I’ve been traveling throughout Europe for a month and spent nearly two weeks in the UK, and the fish & chips here are the best I’ve ever had. Amazing flavor, crunchy but tender, and absolutely delicious! And the bloke running the place was so friendly and welcoming, I couldn’t be happier! Thank you for an awesome experience!
Unbelievably small food portions. Don't eat here unless on a diet. Steak Pie (ie mini Pukka pie) took 30 plus minutes to defrost, fish and chips only has one small piece of fish and a thimble of mushy peas. Good for sports though, just plan for a pre or post visit kebab.

Excellent pub Food, in a more Zúrich than English pub ambiance. The perfect mix of experience to enjoy the sports event in the Zúrich context, with higher food quality standards than in nearby pubs.
Definitely one of the place when it comes to sport in Zurich! Rugby World Cup will happen here for me. Finger food, great ambiance, definitely helpful and enjoyable service. Prost!

This place has incredible take on the classic hamburger. They embed eggs and bacon into it, and it's massive .
It's big enough in terms of space to play board games . They have fussbal, as well and it is kid friendly due to the large space and opportunity to build your own area out.

Bartender took her time pouring the perfect beer. My friend had the fish & chips and said it was the best he had. Atmosphere is great inside.
A little home from home pub feels like being back in London - stayed for the party too it doubles up as a club on weekends 👍

We ran into this place as we were exploring Old Town Zürich. We met Andrew from Columbus, OH who told us that it was Zurich’s oldest expat pub. We fell in love with the place immediately. Great selection of beers and the vibe is of an old English style pub. They were doing trivia that night as well. We will definitely be back.

A great pub with a fantastic atmosphere! The beers were amazing at a fair price! 10 CHF for 2 small beers 🍻! The lady at the bar was very nice and welcoming! You need to order the beer at the counter and then you can seat! They don’t do table service!

Its a great Italian Restaurant i would Day the best in 5 km distance from Bülach. I havent visited their rooms so i cant Day how they are but if they are as good as the food then they are for sure great to stay in

Katastrophal unfreundliche Bedienung. Mit der Reservation hat es nicht geklappt, die Barkeeperin verschwindet immer wieder irgendwo oder sitzt mit den Gästen, es gibt ein Zigarren-Verbot im Fumoir… wenn man bestellt hat man das Gefühl, etwas Schlechtes zu machen, da die Barkeeperin total demotiviert wirkt. Katastrophal und nie wieder!

15 minutes to be attended, the waitress that finally saw me , was interrupted by her college before we could order the second drinks.
After another 5 minutes...finally we ordered two cocktails... (Let's call them that like they have in there drink list.) AWFUL!!! PURE ALCOHOL

Quiet and beautiful place My visit was in the morning, the host was indescribable, respectful, friendly and pleasing, five stars are too few for a place like this

I've been to this location last Thursday. The service was very good. The lady who served was very friendly, customer oriented and serving fast.
The food was very tasty. The portions are normal size. Price value ratio is absolutely justified. I definitely recommend this location.

Today we've been again at La Fenice with my family and again it was brilliant. Good food, great service, nice ambience. Exactly the way you wish to feel when going to an Italian restaurant.

I used to like the place. But arriving at 22 and seeing that we cannot sit because quite a few tables are (still) reserved for eating, is very disappointing. The only option available was outside, and it's already a bit cold for that.
Also, I find it very disgusting that people are allowed to smoke inside, and the DJ music apparently is only for them, the smokers.
I guess I should start going to Zeughaus more often.
Update: I wasn't given any option, just to sit where the barrels are (very uncomfortable) or outside (already cold), I certainly wasn't informed that I would be informed if someone would leave.
What I don't understand is why at least 4 tables were reserved just for eating at 22:00, empty, when they could be accommodating us or someone else for drinks. I seriously doubt that so many people would eat that late in Switzerland.
I am happy if the non-smokers area will be improved soon, at least.
Update 2: I don't know who you are talking about but we weren't three, but two, and there were at least four tables available but still reserved for dinner, at 22. If somebody spoke with you that we were leaving it certainly wasn't my friend. Thanks for the offer but I am not writing you, I just think that the service should be much more flexible and welcoming, customer-centric, which definitely wasn't the case the last time we went there, and that is why we left.

Nach einem guten Essen im Dorkern, wurde die Bar aufgesucht... Fackt Getränk super, Service nicht gut! Nie wieder!
Lokal, bar und getränke sind ok. Leider akzeptiert der barkeeper keine musikwünsche, er hat sie unterbrochen, obwohl ich dafür geld bezahlt habe an der jukebox. Sehr schade ich hätte mich gefreut meinen song zu hören und zu zelebrieren.

Best bar ever!! Me and my girlfriend landed late from the airport it was her birthday and we did not know where to go, even though we came 10 min after closing she still offered us free shots.

Publikum sehr gemischt, was natürlich der Zugehörigkeit zum 5-Sterne-Hotel geschuldet ist, wo internationales Publikum mit Schwergewicht Geschäftsleute verkehrt. Apropos Verkehr: meist tauchen im Verlauf des Abends auch professionelle Damen hier auf, die sich demonstrativ alleine und ohne Begleitung an ein Tischchen in einer Ecke setzen und der Dinge harren...! Teilweise interessant zu beobachten.

First night in Zurich on a business trip and was looking for a quick bite. The pub has a polished interior with a well lit space, especially compared to most US pubs. The bar tender was friendly and attentive. The drinks and food came fast and were very good. The food menu was extensive with very good burger, sandwich and entree options. The beer menu could use a few more options for both draft and bottled beers. I would give it 4.5 stars.

After a few hours of exploring Old Town Zurich, we stopped here for the beginning of our pub crawl. This was stop number one. The decor is tastefully done and not gaudy. They had a good selection of beer on tap. There is a snug overlooking a brasserie. They have outdoor seating too. I ordered a Moscow mule which even came in a proper copper mug. There was a food menu but we only came from drinks.

Let’s face it: It’s the best place in all of Zurich. Best whisky, best beer (no run of the mill!), best cigars and tobacco products, best location, best ever atmosphere and then there’s the one defining element which is Egon. A home and not one away from home. An actual home. Make this your living room away from everything daunting. Great music all year round and about a million screens with all the sports imaginable. This you won’t find anywhere else! Tradition, local and pure class. The locals shape this place.
The bar has very friendly staff, and the regulars are also very friendly, the overall atmosphere of the bar is very reminiscent of Zug and Switzerland in general. It is also much cheaper than competing bars in the area. The facilities are clean and well maintained. There is an outisde as well as an inside area. There are TVs inside showing different programs and the music is requested through a music box. If you are looking for a more relaxed and less fancy place, this is the place to be. The opening times are also very good compared to regular Swiss opening times.

Went to The Lion to watch the 6 Nations Rugby, and decided to try their Sunday Beef Roast. It was excellent and really tasty! Perfect with a Murphy’s Red Ale and the Rugby! Will defo be back next time I’m in Zurich and the Rugby is on :) The service was also great!

Great local pub. If you want to get away from the overpriced expat bars, Why Not give it a try? Great music selection on the box also.
