Amazing tours with Jon and his uncle Pablo (born and raised in Tortuguero)! If I could have rated it more than 5 stars I would! You can book with them with NO doubt
We did all of our 4 tours with them, 2 night walks, 1 canoe tour and one jaguar trail

They made our experience in Tortuguero absolutely magical and unforgettable: they did much more than the tour, sharing all their knowledge of the place, the plants, the animals, always going the extra mile so we would see all the animals we wanted to see (and we saw all, turtles, crocos, caimans, tucans, macau, snakes, frogs….) or to make our experience in Tortuguero heavenly
I think it will be one of the best highlights of my trip to Costa Rica, but of all my other trips as well
Thank you so much again Jon & Pablo

Do this tour!! We booked a last minute rio Celeste float and it was so beautiful and really fun. Our guide Dani was so nice, helped our group along the rapids, and pointed out animals! We saw howler monkeys leaping across trees, including babies, a sloth, and a cluster of bats. The river is gorgeous, wasn’t over populated and the perfect balance between calm pools to swim in, and fun little rapids. Once you’re finished with the tubing and swimming (there’s also a rope swing at one point) you return to the HQ and get to have an amazing lunch. 10/10 recommend to everyone.
We booked the morning kajak tour from 6:00-8:30 am and it was one of the highlights of our Costa Rica trip.
Our guide was Nana who is born for this job, since he‘s been living there his whole life. He was able to spot the most camouflaged animals from amazing distances. He described them in detail and with his experience also shared interesting insights into the Tortuguero life. He tries to find more secret spots with less tourists. We were lucky to make the trip with just us two and him, because we enjoyed every minute of this tour! 5 stars well deserved!

Highly recommended! We are a family of four with two kids, 6 and 11, and decided on a last-minute day-trip from Fortuna to Rio Celeste to try river tubing. Perfect activity for a hot sunny day. The owner was amazing and very accommodating with a last minute booking through WhatsApp. The staff was amazing, very helpful, and kind. They served fresh lunch while we were waiting which was really good. The tubing itself was very relaxing and fun. Anthony and Danny, the helpers/guides, are simply the best. They ensured our group was together all the time while navigating the rocky rapids along the river and pointed out things along the way. They deserve 10 stars! At the half-way point, we got a 20 minute break to swim and dive into the beautiful pool. The guides even took pictures of our group while we were going down the rapids and swimming in the pool. We all thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Definitely worth a day trip to make memories and meet the nicest people.

Une belle demi journée! Très agréable comme attraction. L'eau est d'une belle couleur. Très relaxant et familiale. 50$US et ça inclus le dîner. Un must 😁
We went exploring with Berny this morning and had a lot of fun!

Berny knows his way around very well and has a lot of fun with his
job, which you can clearly see and feel. It was a great experience and is highly recommended.

Contact and booking was uncomplicated and possible via WhatsApp.
Jonathan is an excellent guide! We got to do a canoe tour with him last month and it was fantastic. We saw Caimens and lots of birds. Got some incredible photos and videos! Thank you Jonathan!
Great trip up the volcano.

The Rio Celeste tubing tour was exciting and so much fun. Our river guide was personable and kept things in control - at no point was there any reason to be nervous, we simply relaxed and had a great time. Even got to use a couple of rope swings to jump into the water, and saw a coral snake on the river bank! Next time we return we will try one of their other tours and stay in the tree house lodging (again! It's lovely ) - Dec 25 2023

Amazing tour and very helpful guides. They spotted clothes along with other animals. Also offered to take us to a farm afterwards to see more sloths if we wanted too although we passed on that. We had a 7&9 yr old with us and they helped with them a lot!!! Highly recommend!

We stayed here in the great tree houses, surrounded by wildlife and nature. Yet the standard is high, the internet is fast, and the breakfast - delicious.
If you're looking for wildlife, it's a great spot. The owners help you spot nearby sloths and birds. They have their telescope, which they move around to help you spot the best wildlife.
We also booked the tubing tour with them, which was terrific. It's a bit of adrenaline, but it's always under control with their guides and very safe—a must-do in the region of Rio Celeste.
We really enjoyed our tour with Jon, he was really good at communicating before and spoke great English. the canoe tour was fab going early morning and Jon made sure that we got as close as possible to animals and took extra time and effort to find different animals to other tours. When it rained we were provided with ponchos and he also bought bicolours.
On the walk we got the speed boat to another area and the walk resulted in a beautiful view and then coconut water at the end!
The night tour gave us the chance to see lots of different animals and we went in a different route to other tours so not in a huge group which was better! Would definitely recommend going with Jon ! Thanks again 😊
We had a super Day! Started with an early kano trip, what was amazing... saw a lot of animals from really close😍
And after that a morning hike through the national park and ended the day with a night walk.
Jonathan was a perfect gide, friendly, funny and knows all the animals & made sure we all saw them too.
Thanks for the lovely day

Amazing from A-Z
The team was responsive on WhatsApp. Answered all our questions regarding safety arrival direction etc…
We came 45 min ahead of time and we have enjoyed tasty lunch which also the kids liked. Then in an organized way we were taken to the river ( 5 min drive ) and started the ride which was great. The crew were kind and helping us we felt safe and it was great the water has an amazing colours animals above us and everything was just great.
Don’t think just book it.
We just came back from our rafting trip and it has so far been a personal highlight! We had so much fun and the guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. Would highly recommend!!

We had the best time rafting with Andres. He was very knowledge about Costa Rica and was a lot of fun to be around! After rafting, which my husband said was the best thing that we did, we went to the Monkey Park and had an awesome Costa Rican meal. I would definitely do it again with Andres and Bryan!

Where do I even start?! AMAZING EXPERIENCE. We took a wrong turn heading to the Rio Celeste Waterfall and it was the best happy accident we’ve ever made! Stayed one night in the treehouse (DO THIS) and absolutely loved it. The property, the owners, the staff, the food-all was top notch.

They set up a last minute night tour for us, took us in the field to see TWO wild sloths, a male and female, and made us a fantastic breakfast. We had a hard time saying goodbye.

Do not hesitate to book with them, they offer a wide variety of tours also. If you want an authentic experience surrounded in nature with a beautiful family then this is the place.

We had a perfect (nearly private) tour with Bryan in October. Professional and friendly.
They really did their best to make us a nice and fun day. If you need any specials (pick up location etc.) just give them a call.
Nice canoe trip for about 3 hrs in the morning, the guide took his time, we saw a lot of animals (birds ,monkeys, cayman, ....)
At night we did the turtle tour, wonderfull experience, a turtle coming in from the sea, making a whole and laying eggs, highly recommend this tour! Our guide, Burnie, was really the best.
Great time with the canoe tour and turtle tour with these guys. Verny was our guide for both and was very passionate about the animals. He was excellent at giving information and taking time to spot things.
This is a very environmentally conscious group.

On the canoe tour we saw agami heron, caiman, howler monkey, Spider monkey, sloths, and other Birdlife. Worth the early morning!
This was truly the best thing we did on our Costa Rica vacation! Our guide, Colon, was phenomenal, even stopping the raft several times to show us sloths! We saw sloths, iquannas, bats, monkeys, and toucans! A perfect day, starts around 9:30am and ends around 3pm. Love that is includes a typical Costa Rican lunch on Monkey Reserve Park. All around great experience, fully worth the money and would do again.
This is a dirty business. They place a guy on the road that leads to Parque National Arenal who stops the incoming cars and directs them to turn around and instead go to this private park. Even when we told him where we were headed, he insisted that we turn around and drive back to the entrance of his employer...

I recommend that you avoid this place. There are other parks nearby, public and private, where you won't be deceived.
We had a very good kayak tour with Marceilles ! We saw a lot of animals : birds, caimans, monkeys, sloths...
It’s a fine hike, but there are better options if you only have the time for one hike. I recommend Mirador el Silencio instead. We were informed of very different prices: 15 usd per person the first day and 30 usd the next day… we insisted on 15 usd.
The Canoe Tour with Caretta Tours was incredible! The guide was so calm and kind, and he told us so much about the flora and fauna of tortuguero. We saw birds, several monkeys and even a cayman!!! It was the most nurturing experience. I definitely recommend it
Absolutely amazing! 10/10 would recommend to anyone who loves wildlife and adventure. The tour guide was brilliant and extremely knowledgeable about the landscape, vegetation and wildlife. Will definitely be back.
Beautiful tour, we saw lots of wildlife and the guide was absolutely amazing - would definitely recommens
Excellent tour guide who took his time to find us some monkeys!
I booked all the tours with Jonathan in advance: 2 boat tour and the turtle tour.

The communicaton in advance was very good and I appreciated that.

We had a miscommunciation relating the meeting point for the turtle tour at nigh, so the first night, I missed the tour due to that. The secons night I went to the turtle tour, but it was very stressfull. We walked very fast. Me and another tourist got lost, because he walked away and didnt look for us! We couldm't see anything in the dark. It seemed like he wanted to get over with the tour as soon as possible. We were only 5 people, so it should not be difficult to keep the group together.

I must say, Jonathan is a very experienced guide. He has a huge knowledge and a good eye for spotting the animals! Therefore the boat tours were amazing and I loved being in nature.

However, he didnt seem motivated - so I wouldnt book another tour. This is just my personal opinion.

Most amazing thing I did in Costa Rica! Went with 3 people from my Intrepid Travel group. We loved every minute I'd it. After the rafting trip we went to the Monkey Park for a wonderful lunch. Wish we could spend more time here and do it again!
Not much to do here unless you pay the extra for the water activities. Even then, I'm not too sure I'd say that's worth $30. If the sky is cloudy, you won't see the volcano, but I bet it looks amazing on a clear day. Not enough to do at this park to make the lack of a view worth it for me. Not sure how it'd look with no clouds, but you can get good close views of the volcano in La Fortuna. There's also very few animals on the trail. We saw a yellow-throated toucan though! Trail to lava rocks was easy, steep but short. 2 stars cuz the trails are well-maintained and the volcano view is probably great to see up close with no clouds
We enjoyed paddle boarding on the small lake with a great view of the Arenal Volcano (when the clouds passed). The hike up to the lava rock is very worth it on a non-cloudy day. Seeing the vibrant green plants against the lava rock was beautiful! We were lucky the the clouds were totally clear for a brief moment and we could see steam coming out of the volcano.
Overall good experience. I thought the park entrance fee was a little pricey for what’s it’s worth. But we had a good time!

We had an absolutely amazing rafting experience today! Brian took amazing photos of us and Teddy Bear, as he is known, was an incredible rafting guide! He pointed out all of the wild life he could find including iguanas, lizards, sloths and all kinds of birds! Our lunch was delicious and we shared the space with white face monkeys and toucans in the trees! We will certainly be going back for another ride down the river with La Fortuna Rafting!!
Beautiful park. I enjoyed going on a hike here, the trail was on the easier side and an appropriate size for an afternoon. There is a lagoon there to go swimming, kayaking, or viewing. Overall the view is beautiful. You get to the base of the lava flow but not much higher.

Some hikers go by horde or ATV.

I'd recommend coming here but I have heard the 1968 is also a favorite of some due to having more lava.
Very cool, lots of things to see, and do. Be sure to do the hike up to the volcano, but it is more difficult than they suggest. Especially at the top where there are lots of little boulders from the lava flow I twisted my ankle and had to walk back down, which was a little tough. Just be prepared.

Strenuous hike from the bottom over lava rocks to the lava fields at the top. Unfortunately it was covered in clouds the day we went so there wasn't much of a view at the top. It was still a beautiful hike through a rain forest.
This is not a national park, and it is really expensive for the experience given the trails are barely marked, and are definitely not maintained. The park map is not accurate either. This could be described as a challenging hike depending on which trail you take. The pictures are not a scam as another reviewer said because there is definitely a beautiful view at the end, and there is wildlife to see along the way (we saw birds and two coatis), but I can see how someone might feel misled into thinking this is high quality park. It almost feels like someone's backyard where they cleared a path up to the volcano and started charging $15 USD per person. I'd go to other parks first if you aren't in the area for long.
