Se promener et acheter des livres (d'occasion) de qualité durant la balade. On ne peut faire cela qu'à Paris. J'ai trouvé mon bonheur en philosophie.
Sí vas a buscar libros nuevos, no es tu sitio. Encuentras libros viejos en buen estado y precios justos. Pero lo importante es que están a la orilla del Sena y eso les da un encanto particular. Generalmente los dependientes son amables aunque no hables francés.

Ne bougez pas les boîtes de bouquiniste et sécurisez les quais par des barrières et des vigiles pour quelques heures de défilé pour les Jeux olympiques 2024, c'est du bon sens ,il faut être pragmatique.
Great variety of books
Les bouquinistes font partie du patrimoine de Paris. Je trouve honteux qu'on leur demande de partir pour cause de sécurité des J.O.
Huge selection of books for learning French. Most complete section I've seen so far in Paris. And another huge section of bilingual readers.
Always ready to help no matter now many books need to be arranged. I am happy with their service! Even the security guard was polite and friendly.

Used to be a good reference for second hand books and music in Paris. On my last visit (May 2023) I found the selection very poor and entirely dedicated to very cheap and badly maintained books. Pricing is overall fair, but dont expect to find any one off or treasured items here. Very disappointing, compared to the past

Totally disorganised. And covers and spines of books impossible to see as they are stacked vertically and tightly in columns on walled tables. You would think that a shop that specialises in eg selling and eg books would know to make it easy for people to find what they might be looking for.
Book store "second hand", but price for books starts from 50 cents. There is a lot of detective romances in french and also not big shelf with some books in English.
The Fnac is good too, but for me, this remains the best bookstore in Paris. There are several buildings in a row with different collections and it's very rare for them not to have the book I'm looking for (and quite a few others I end up getting as well). The availability and shelving of used books alongside their new siblings is universal, making it so easy to find them. The shelving is as detailed as a library and staff are helpful if a book isn't where you think it will be.
Ce qui est bien chez les bouquinistes c'est de trouver des livres qu'on ne trouve plus ailleurs et ils sont d'une grande gentillesse et c'est une des images connues de la capitale même moi qu'en je longe les quais je regarde toujours si il y a un livre qui m'intéresse et j'en trouve de temps en temps c'est pour ça qu'il faut les encourager que internet

Nés au cours du XVIè siècle, c'est sous Napoléon Ier, qu'ils peuvent s'étaler le long de la Seine, selon des règles spécifiques.
On les trouve installés sur 3 km des 2 rives : du pont Marie au pont des Arts et du pont Sully au pont Royal.

Very nice owner who does not bother you while you are browsing. The place had a nice collection of English books , both fiction and non fiction. Definitely recommend here.

Always enjoyed my visit there, especially because of the range of genres of the books available there. It is located just in front of the Panthéon Sorbonne building. Most importantly, they sell both new and second hand book with very reasonable price. You’ll sometimes find rare books there as well.
I loved this bookstore!!! There was a English book section and it includes some of the best english books in different genres!
Unbeatable prices and interesting selection, although almost all in French. You can find pocket novels for €0,20, and large documentary photo-books for €1. Inside there's a large collection of antique books (+100 years old) in great condition.
Loved this pretty old bookshop, a big variety of wonderful postcards with Paris views, which I haven’t seen much around. The owner is very friendly, enjoyed talking to him! Bought a cute tote bag.

Awesome used book shop. Has an English section. Old sci-fi books are great for people who collect camp cover art. Bunches of kids magazines. Awesome selection of DVDs for people learning French from watching television!
Found this bookstore through its eBay page and then visited in person. The staff are kind and helpful and the items you can find amazing. If you like antiquarian books and are in Paris, this bookstore is the place to go. Moreover they also have boxes with 10€ and 20€ books which is a nice way for a student to start a collection.

Les bouquinistes des quais de Seine de Paris font partie des institutions folkloriques de la Ville Lumière. Vieux magazines, cartes postales vintage, livres de collection, on y trouve un peu de tout, beaucoup d'occasions et surtout de belles histoires quand on écoute les propriétaires des boîtes aux étals bien remplis. C'est peut être là la plus belle des choses qu'on puisse y trouver. Souvenirs de papier et poésie.

Leur rayon BD au sous-sol est très cool, ils ont plein de comics en anglais, et comme c'est de l'occasion les prix sont plus que corrects :) Je ne repars jamais les mains vides, malheureusement pour mon compte en banque!

We actually stumbled across this place while walking through Paris to get the Louvre. Was very quiet on the day but also quaint and rather lovely inside. Some stores even had English books available

If this was March 2019 I would have given this four stars. A lot of kitsch, but I found an interesting thing or two. I returned to Paris in September 2021 and this is what I find. All the time. Not sure if they're operating on regular basis but like everything in France I'm sure they're regulated and if so they should be opened at set hours. No longer worth your time since these people don't seem to be interested in making money.

Great second hand book store
It is a very nice place to find inexpensive books of all kinds. Mainly in French, but you can also find something in English, German or Asian languages. One thing to bear in mind: the place is full of pickpockets, especially in rush hours and weekends.

Seriously, you cannot get stupid books in here. That is what you could expect from a bookshop just 30m away from the good old Sorbone entrance. Not a lot of stuff, though. Inventory turns, so you may want to pay regular visits.
It is an old fashioned second hand market (CDs and books do not get posted on the Internet). That means two things: it's cheaper and it's not as time efficient as keying in on a laptop what is it you are searching for. If you are like me and you like to touch, to browse, to sense, then, you must get there. Maybe, they could set cds in the right fashion so you can actually read it's title without having to look at the front side.

I bought some books for my sister back home. The man who helped me was just absolutely lovely. You have to at least take a look if you pass by!
Most of the bookstalls weren't open when we went, and the once that were open only had books in French (which is perfectly understandable). The had some really lovely posters and paintings, though.
A tiny little old book store. I didn't speak the language but the lady at the country was quite patient with me and let me look around as much as I liked. When we had a communication gap one of the other customers kindly translated for me. Some of the books were very old and obscure but they had a lovely collection of facsimiles from old fashion magazines. I bought a couple of them as gifts and they were very well recieved. I had one framed for myself at home. Would visit again when I had more money.

Also they have upstairs. The window view in the second floor was nice as i felt that i am really in Paris. Also they have comics. You might find a very your book with 1 euros or far cheaper price 👍

Boutique mal rangée, et un très mauvais accueil de la vendeuse très désagréable. A ce demander si elle veut vendre ses livres. Conseil: passez votre chemin!

Second hand french book store. Good selection of litterature classics and rarer editions. Overall the books are cheap and in excellent condition. The English selection is poor and uninteresting. I recommend if you are looking for french classics.
Is the most beautiful bookstore I have visited. The old smell in the Librarie reminded me of the library at my boarding school which I went many years ago. The shop was opened in 1826 and passed down from the owner’s grandfather to his father and to him. We asked him if he has any book in chess and right away he showed us the one and only book he has on chess. It was a beautiful vintage book. The owner knows every book he has in the Librarie, his brain is like a computer!! I was able to find a beautiful vintage map and a few other precious items in his beautiful shop. I love this shop and can stay here for days to just look for books and items that I love. I will come back everytime when I’m here in paris!!

Absolutely love this place. Cheap treasures - these are two key words describing the Boulinier in the best way. It is enormous and located in two separate but close to each other places at the same street.
Cool little (quite small) used bookstore with a large selection of antiques and comic books, though all in French. There is also an interesting collection of prints from books on a variety of subjects from natural history to historical costume and things French. Seems you can get a better deal than the the prices marked if you're buying a few things, though I thought the prices were already often quite low.
