I attended this weekend as part of a stag group. We had fun of course, but there were a number of areas of feedback:
Quad Biking:
Whilst this was enjoyable, the track is remarkably short and slow and was over seemingly really quickly. The safety video shows quad bikes going along a straight pretty fast with warnings not to get too close to the next rider, but in reality you’re all crawling along next to each other like a group of slow ants. Track area is simply not big enough to really enjoy it.
Airsoft
Safety briefing video was impossible to watch as there were too many people in the waiting area and too much noise. There were too many people on the groups and was mixed with adults and 10 year olds which really didn’t help. To add to that, there is no separation between airsoft players and paintballers - they practically use the same field as it’s all so crushed in. The games were haphazard and not explained well enough, as well as being super short. We spent more time in the waiting area than we did playing. The marshalling was overly aggressive too - very confrontational behaviour from ‘Mike’ (I think that was his name). Although a shoutout to Ben (I think) who couldn’t have been more helpful and apologetic for his superior’s behaviour.
Having done airsoft several times before - this was my worst experience of the activity by far from anywhere I have been.
The hire guns were in a terrible state with many not working and nearly all of them misfiring. I lost count of the amount of players that had to stop because of their gun not working.
Very poor communication throughout and a sort of ‘make it up as we go’ type of attitude do organisation.
Overall
This place is trying to do far too many activities with the space they have. It’s far too chaotic with groups from many activities overlapping each other and nothing starting on time or running for the full duration. It smacks of greed - doing whatever they can to get the money in at the sacrifice of the experience for guests.
The aggressive nature of ‘some’ of the staff really dampened the experience for the whole group - a total over the top reaction from one airsoft Marshall resulting in one of our group being threatened with police… for pretty much nothing! Not even allowed to remain in the car park whilst waiting for the rest of the group. A very childish attitude.
I don’t think this is a place I will be going back to or recommending to anyone. It has potential, but needs to scale back the activities on the site or at least do them properly, and a customer care course for ‘some’ of the staff is desperately needed.

Overall a fun day..
BUT.. a little chaotic at times. I can understand the need to cram in as many people as possible in today's climate .
But it does effect the overall enjoyment of the games. Especially airsoft. No real rules. More a just point and shoot fun..
Quad biking .. fun but a small track.. round and round .. could do with a larger area and more varied track..

I believe his name was “Ben”, one of the Marshall’s. Truthfully, he seemed like an absolutely miserable and genuinely unpleasant person, which unfortunately left a sour taste on what otherwise could have been a great experience. He looked bored and uninterested the entire time; making no effort to create a welcoming or fun atmosphere. Not only did Ben openly express his dislike towards us all, but he seemed to get a kick out of shouting at children for seemingly no reason. He had the audacity to claim that all of us were ruining the session, when ironically it was him who was constantly having a go at us, looking utterly disengaged as if he’d been forced to do unpaid labour that day.
Apart from Ben it was okay. Another problem was that each game was extremely short. There was simply not enough time to properly play. The last few minutes warning came just a couple of minutes after the game started. A 2 hour session resulted in a total game time of approximately 30 minutes.
Lastly, the guns themselves were far from perfect, with the trigger either not doing anything, or you having to adjust your magazine every minute.
Unless this was just a one off bad day for Ben, I would personally suggest he looks for alternate employment, as he doesn’t seem to excel in this sort of setting.

Took my partner as part of her birthday weekend, and we both loved this place! The staff were really hopefully and fun, gave help when needed and stood back and allowed us to enjoy the activities when needed. Loved loved the clay shooting, glad we paid for the extra shots, the exploding shots on the air rifles was the best thing ever! Wish we knew you could buy more before going! Axe throwing needs some ground protection, to muddy and wet(for the equipment and those throw in) but otherwise really enjoyed the day and already playing on going back! Really reasonable price!!

We went clay pigeon shooting for my dad's birthday. Had the BEST time!! Our instructor was absolutely brilliant, he was very patient and encouraging. A really good teacher. It was such a buzz obliterating those clay pigeons. I highly recommend it!

While we made the best of it, this was an overall disappointing experience.
Food:
We pre ordered food and it was edible, the pizza was definitely underdone and very doughy, my chicken burger came with no sauce and I had to pay 20p for sauce which was necessary as it was dry as a bone. The beef burgers had been sat for god knows how long in a heat cabinet and then served. Gross.
Drinks were reasonably priced but it was £4 for a jug of juice.
The venue seemed very slap dash, the joists in the ceiling were not screwed in fully which looked dangerous.
The bubble football was a good laugh.
The battle archery was a bit rubbish, most of the arrows were broken, one of my friends cut his hand on some fibreglass on the arrow and the instructor didn’t give a rats behind. When we asked for more arrows (we had fewer the one each) he said yeah we don’t have any and they get broken just the way it is.
The obstacles were screwed down with screw pegs that weren’t right for the ground, they kept coming out causing a major health and safety hazard.
Each activity should be an hour. We were stopped ten minutes early for football so he could ‘set up for the next activity (not my problem) the same for archery but 15 minutes as we had ‘run out of games’

Amazing country house with holiday let's and fishing holidays. Wonderful grounds.

Just had a great morning with my grandchild here on the air rifle range ,they provide all weapons, ammunition, targets and the owners very friendly and helpful, we had lovely freshly made bacon barms and brews half way through even my grandchild ate the lot 🤣.... well worth a visit .

Cracking place. Safety is taught well and they have good procedures in place. Great equipment if you need to hire any. Theres food usually available for your visits. The owners should be very proud of their setup its nice. 👍 my 10 year old says its his medicine going there as it’s peaceful and relaxing scoping out targets on a rifle range. 🤣.

If zero stars were possible, I would give them. Some of the most unfriendly people I came across in Northumberland. Took a wrong turn whilst on a bike ride and entered the grounds via the delivery access (no signs that I could see). It took all of 3 minutes for a couple (owners? ground keepers?) to shout at me and repeatedly tell me that I'm on private ground. I of course apologised and left immediately.
If that's the way to promote your property to potential visitors, then thanks but no thanks.
Avoid if possible.

It's been some time since I visited to shoot my springer .22 air rifles using the indoor range to zero in. It's close enough to Blackpool for me. Everyone is friendly & it's a reasonable price as well. Time I went back to zero in my New PCP & practice using my pistols as well now.

Amazing place. I have never held a gun in my life. But Rick was wonderful. He guided us very well. Really love the experience. He is very particular about safety too which is great especially for kids. Highly recommend. Will definitely go back 😃

I was privileged to be allowed to paint and draw in the beautiful grounds The castle is of two parts and sits high on the eastern bank of the North Tyne river in its beauty and solitude I was able to watch peregrine and buzzards on their quests for prey. It is open to the public in afternoons and is an opportunity not to missed

Thanks guys for such a wonderful visit. We visited Bristol Activity Center for Paintball in June during the hot period and as you can imagine it was hard work.
We had 6-7 games of fast paced paintball games, including capture the flag, bomb and TDM.
Pricing of paint and other ammunition was quite expensive although the paint grenade deals are pretty darn good.
The marshals were fantastic and very helpful, the safety side of the place is 10/10.
With hot food and drinks available at the canteen. Don't bring your own food inside policy which is a bit strange. Guessing it's to do with rubbish.
Lots of other things to do at the center including archery, airsoft, zorb balls and more visit their website.

A brilliant day at the range! Rick is a great friendly bloke who met us outside when we arrived, showed us around and got down to business. First things first safety, Rick is extremely thorough with this and I'm pleased he was. Shows the level of discipline and professionalism. Through his banter and knowledge he got us up to scratch in no time hitting bullseyes! We did the archery and Air Rifle shooting. Both great fun and entertaining. We really appreciate the effort and professionalism Rick showed to us. We can't recommend this place enough. If it was local to us we would be there every weekend! Cheers Rick 👍

A really brilliant afternoon.
I feel so lucky to have managed to come upon this beautiful property in Northumberland.
Chipchase Castle conjures up all those images of a stately home set in rolling parkland.
The guided tour was well worth the reasonable price and it was obvious the guide felt an affinity with the house because he transferred his enthusiasm to those he was showing around.
It doesn’t appear to be promoted, I’m not sure if that’s a good or a bad thing, I was privileged to have had the house and gardens together with fewer than 20 people whilst I was there.

Chipchase is still a private house but for £8 per person, you can get a guided tour of part of to house. You will also get access to the Chapel in the grounds and the garden. Tours start every half hour. The house is only open in June from 1pm till 5 pm so ch3ck the website before visiting. Carpark in front of the house, use the main entrance from the road to access it as there is no brown signs. Guide book avadible for £2

Fascinating private home which has changed times many times. Originally a Norman Peel Tower, then a Tudor house and finally Jacobean. Wonderful carved fireplace upstairs, some fine porcelain, furniture and paintings. Free to Historic Houses members. Recommended

Came for both indoor archery and rifle shooting. Both were done and set up really well with friendly and caring owners. Definitely recommend anyone going by their own or with a group, you won't be disappointed.

Great day out. 2 adults, 4 teens. Excellent VFM. Rick very knowledgeable and helpful, Vic equally as lovely, helpful and makes a fab breakfast barm. Highly recommend. Thank you for a fab family friendly day out away from the rain.

Went today to do archery 🏹 for an hour with my wife and grandchildren Josh and Evie. We all had a fantastic time. The owner Rick was extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. A perfect tutor for the novice. All four of us managed at least one arrow in the bulls eye. Will definitely go again and would recommend it to anyone.

Want a fun day, then book here.
The Bristol activity centre certainly made my friends 30th. They open specially for us and also helped us make our own package which suited our needs.
The paint balling was absolutely a blast and enjoyed every second of it. The battlefield which has been made is full of places to hide (good/bad) hidden tunnels and fun games to play which as search and destroy. The shop for the paint balling was reasonably priced and offered good packages to go along.
Myself I upgraded my gun for only a £5 which I thought was a fair price where some sites I have seen charge £15 for this
Once we had finished our paint balling we then settled down to have the meals which where provided the centre, with a mixture of burgers and hot dogs, depending what we ordered. There was even options for vegetarians which I felt was very accommodating, the little shop would even do hot drinks like tea or coffee.
After this we moved onto quad biking we’re we did a mixture of steep hill climbs and drops and some slight minor off roaring. I did feel this course was rather simple and did not offer much for an more experienced driver, never the less is was fun and really enjoyed the driving.
The only thing I felt could be improved was making sure both teams are ready to start playing paint balling instead of 1, this often left one team at a disadvantage. Most the time we wouldn’t be at the start position and the whistle would blow when we was in the open and isn’t even have a chance to talk about a game plan.
This was a shame as it did result in us not knowing who was doing what, and then the instructor shouting at us saying we don’t listen and don’t have a game plan.
I did feel the attitude of the main instructor was rather rude, as he would snap at people and talk down to them in a demeaning way, even for little
Things like a wrong gun being marked or if they did something slightly wrong.
In short I would say go here for a good time, and the woman and man who owns this did a fantastic job making sure we had a brilliant time
Massive thank you for giving us such a good day.

This is one of the nicest places to go for a day out in the countryside, the host is one of the most interesting people and has some fantastic stories - highly recommend.

Amazingly beautiful in every aspect, chipchase castle takes your breath away. I absolutely loved it, I don't think I've ever been so intrigued by a building before. The guide gives you really interesting information and stories about the castle and costs £6.00 for entry. After your show around you can go and explore the rest of the grounds such as the chapel and the the most beautifully designed and coloured garden you will ever come across with a cute little shop tucked away within. A MUST visit place most definitely. Family friendly also 😊
