Best Adventure sports centers in United Kingdom

The mini golf course has recently been upgraded and the new Astroturf surfaces are superb. Extra features have also been included to add more interest and the entire landscape around the course is attractive and well kept.
Prices are very reasonable with concessions for seniors and families making it an ideal outdoor activity for all age groups.
Refreshments are available in the club house so one can sit and relax in an attractive environment after an entertaining game and staff are always very welcoming and friendly.
Never been disappointed with our visit.

Kai and Mark were amazing. They were really funny and knowledgeable. I never knew my body could bend like that in the cave tunnels. I recommend doing vertical caving with them

Phoned up to book my daughter’s 9th birthday party here and they were booked up for the time that was suitable for her and her friends which was fair enough. So although it was a bit more expensive and as my daughter really wanted to have her party here we went ahead and booked it as a visit instead of a party.

On Arrival, the woman who I assume was the manager gave the kids their wrist bands and asked us if we had a cake, which we obviously did. She then asked us if we had a knife as we weren’t allowed to bring bladed articles to the venue… which we obviously knew so we hadn’t taken a knife.

Once all the children were in we asked if we could order in advance (for around an hour) 11 kids meals with drinks, (we did this to make their life easier) but was told we can’t order in advance, we have to order it at the time… so we did and although the food wasn’t great quality it wasn’t the worst either.

After we had let the kids eat we went to the kiosk to ask them for a knife to cut the cake and was given a plastic butter knife…as this wasn’t ideal we asked them (baring in mind it was dead and the other party had long since finished and had left the venue) if they could cut the cake for us to which they replied that they can’t as it’s not booked as a party, otherwise they could cut it. There were 4 staff including two young lads and a young girl and the woman, who I assume was the manager, pottering about in the kitchen with no orders or anything, watching on as we cut the cake badly using a plastic butter knife.

Considering they had been booked out and the party room was unavailable, so we had to pay more to use the venue than the party room would have cost. I think it’s disappointing that they wouldn’t even cut a cake for a 9 year olds birthday party.

Customer service means using a little bit of discretion at times, especially when it can make a big difference. With a 6 and a 9 year old we hopefully have many more parties at venues similar to Air Nation St Helens, but none will be taking place at this venue again and all for the sake of slicing a cake for us. Poor customer service and hopefully for future paying customers who are paying nearly £200 for a kids birthday party it won’t be too much to ask to cut a child’s cake for them.

Organised a multi activity trip in the Peak District for a bunch of Go Ape instructors, the second time using Lost Earth. Had a great time again, instructors top notch. Thanks to Rhys & Joe who took us caving, and Mark for the gorge walking, everyone had a great time - will be back

We had an amazing time at Millers Dale Viaduct Abseil! The experience was thrilling and so much fun. Our instructor Reece was fantastic—very knowledgeable and provided excellent local tips and ideas that enhanced the rest of our trip. Highly recommended!

Absolutely horrendous. Avoid this place at all costs. Staff member shouted at my 3 year old for having a shoe on. Hypocrisy of it that she's walking about with shoes on. I wasn't allowed on to collect my 3 year old after he ran on the big area on his own. Money before children's safety. Never again. Additional update..no one follows the sock rule I guess as long as they paid? Avoid.

We had a lovely time for my hen party with Mike! We did canoeing then raft building and it was a fab time! The lake is beautiful and peaceful, and Mike was a great guide! Once we were used to navigating the canoes he had us play really fun games on the water in the boats, then after lunch he offered tips on knot tying to help us build the raft (very polite and only offered what help we wanted!) and we took out our newly made HMS Greenwell for a spin on the lake! Great fun and a fab guide! Thanks Mike!!

We had the best time canyoning at Beezley Falls on Saturday! Our guide, Anthony, was really professional and given our relative lack of experience kept us safe throughout, the whole time being supportive and encouraging. It was such a magical experience, we cannot wait for the next Lost Adventure!

No wait to get in despite it being busy. I must admit, I was there with a friend and her children and so I wasn't really taking in the environment. However, it is all about the children having fun, and they were all having the best time, as it should be!!

Avoid!

I spent nearly £2k on clubs with a custom fit and never got on with them. I took them to Precision Golf for an independent club assessment and it transpires that none of the clubs matched the length or lie specifications that were recommended and ordered from Four Ashes. Worse still, the clubs were ALL different. No wonder I couldn't hit them.

I had struggled for 2 years and Four Ashes response was to reference the warranty (totally irrelevant) and refused to assist.

I'll never go back there and I suggest that anyone wanting an expensive set gives them a wide berth.

Had a great experience on Saturday for our son's 13th birthday. Was really well organised and the instructors were awesome. The boys had to wait a long time as a young girl did not want to do the leap of faith but the instructor made sure that the boys got their chance to have a proper go.

Lovely and friendly staff members.
Toddler time is our favourite, nice and quiet with lots of room for a little one to play.
Very clean and a great environment.
Good food and drink with reasonable prices.

Went at the weekend with a few of our friends, kids loved it and been asking to go again. Food came out hot unlike some other places and food and drinks was cheap. Clean environment always staff walking around cleaning and always have smiles on their faces.

This is a fantastic activity in Bournemouth. The staff are all really lovely and the whole thing rocks. It’s very expensive at £25 but you can go round a second time for just a tenner.

We were bought a voucher for the zip wire. Bit nervous but decided to give it a go. Absolutely loved it. The young lady (Ferne) when we checked in was really friendly and helpful. This continued with the staff in the room where we had harnesses put on and up the top of the tower. All the staff helped make the experience a really enjoyable one from start to finish.
Once completed, there is a cafe at the end of the pier where we rewarded ourselves with a coffee and bite to eat.

A massive thank you to the Lost Adventures Team and especially our instructor Rhys yesterday. My son & I booked this day for his 18th, and we had a fantastic time caving, gorge running, and canoeing. Rhys is a lovely guy and highly experienced. he challenged our boundaries, but we never felt unsafe. Good kit and great venues. Highly recommended. This is a great memory for us.

Just returned from a school 3 day residential. Wow, what a great place. Alex and his team made it such a great experience for us all. The instructors were fun, supportive and encouraging with every child. Such a happy, energetic team! The facilities were amazing and everything just ran smoothly. We had such a great time and I can't wait to come back again!

Kids seem to have fun in this place but after an hour its a bit boring if you havent got the full package including cave etc. Generally its very clean. Toilets are just about spotless.
One thing they should reconsider is the high slide where only the birthday kid gets to go on while others watch. Its all extra if you want all the kids to enjoy the slide. Not very nice

Booked for our grandchildren, my granddaughter tried the High Line, she did get scared the staff were amazing encouraging her to complete it, eventually rescuing her. She still tried again.
Both grandchildren loved the Cave, they had a fantastic time. Apparently next time they need to do the Zip Wire.

We have to pay for adult entry tickets to enter and looking after children which is ridiculous. Free car parking was by the door.
Slide was the only thing that kids were interested and enjoyed but the area was disgusting and not being clean for a while. We went on Friday morning slot, air conditioning was not working on that time and we almost cooked 😂

From start to Finish we had such a great experience. We were a family of 4 with 2kids age 7 and 10. Big shout out to Rhys, who was our guide in the Peak District. He took us caving and gorge walking on a MAD2 experience. The equipment provided and experience from Rhys was spot on and we made memories we will treasure. Our children were very well looked after and kept safe.
Big thanks to the the whole team who aided with answering emails and tailoring the booking to our novice skill level.

This is a must do for the curious and adventurous.

If I could give less stars I would , arrived at 10.10am explained that my child is autistic and wouldn’t wait till 11am for the next session to get the full hour I asked if he could stay on for the full hour as that is what we would be paying for. , the manager was rude and told me no and no under any circumstances. Although I have done this several times when visiting before. The manager denied ever doing this and I was greeted with an attitude and abrupt manner. Once we had accepted that they would only have 40 mins by the time we had had the discussion , I then witnessed several family’s arriving before the session was due, and being allowed on before the correct time slot. When I challenged the manager on this she hid in the kitchen and I had to wait for several minutes before she rudely slapped a piece of paper down to write an email address on to make a complaint. She bare faced lied to me and said that the family I had pointed out had paid extra. This was not offered to me at the beginning, She then started on my friend for no reason at all and insinuated that she always complains and had an issue with her before. This was also a lie. Having left I then asked a family member to phone air nation and ask if she could book an hour and a half time slot as I knew she had lied. The girl who answered said sorry we don’t offer any other time slots other than an hour or 2 hours. The place is dirty the toilets smell and the manager can not deal with people or the public , and clearly couldn’t resolve the situation.

My daughter went on her year 6 residential here and the staff here were lovely. So encoraging but also understanding if a child didnt want to do a certian activity there. She has a slight fear of water so was uncertian about canoening, however one of the imstructors did it with her and she ended up loving it. A memerable experience, like a year 6 residential should be. Sorry wrong button pressed the first time around daughter wrote review 5 stars

We popped in after the Expo at NEC and had only booked the zipline, but we spent quite a while in there spectating the other activities. The zipline safety and staffing was impressive. We used the free assault course - really impressed that this was also staffed! The cafe was fab. Great theming throughout, we will definitely be back!

Good party for kids, lovely staff. The only thing I thought that could be a little different would be the 'mix and match' of activities and time to do them in. When it's really busy, the kids might have to wait a fair bit to do an activity. But, I'd recommend it for sure! Oh, the chips were lovely ! ;)

Excellent range ! Beautifully kept , a real treat to use . Ball collection issues seem to be troublesome in very wet weather, creating early closing hence the 4 stars . Would give 5 if rectified but a great range nevertheless.

Great place to go as a day out, but if your thinking to book a party, don't do it and go somewhere else.

Great experience at Bear Geylls Adventure. Went on the high ropes. Staff were really friendly and helpful on the apparatus. Would definately go again.

Came here yesterday for the shark dive with my friend, and I was so nervous about learning to use the scuba gear. I felt immediately at ease with our instructors Ollie and Mike who did such an amazing job of getting everyone trained up and comfortable with what we needed to do.
We were so well taken care of by them and all of the dive & snorkel staff who were fun and friendly.
Seeing the wildlife in the tank was unbelievable, we were lucky to get quite close both of the nurse shark and zebra shark as they rested at the bottom.

Definitely give yourself a lot of extra time to park before as events at the NEC can gridlock the roads, we aimed to be 45 minutes early but were only just on time

Loads to do at the adventure center so we will definitely be back !

My daughter had her 9th birthday here, and it was fab. It was well organised, and the staff were very friendly. The only thing to be aware of is that if you want to watch the children bounce around you can get a view only pass where you can walk around the trampolines, but you will need to buy their non slip socks. They are only £2 but a slight annoyance as you would only be walking around, not jumping on the equipment.

Overall, it was a great place to have the party and my daughter loved it. We will be back.

Arrived to jump heaven to queuing out of the door there was not enough staff on the desk to deal with people who had filled in the waiver, those going to a party and those who had not filled in a waiver everyone in the que had phones so I'm not sure why this had not been done! The boys missed out on 15 mins of their time due to the strict timetable inside. £12 per hour. Boys were a little disappointed! However cafe was reasonably priced and the boys enjoyed new equipment to play on/with.

Had the absolutely best day for my little boy's 8th birthday (Harrison). the lovely Evie greeted us and went through everything that would be happening throughout the day and ensuring we had everything we needed and was there for any questions we had (I cannot praise her enough she was so busy but had a constant smile and nothing was too much trouble). Our party host (i didn't catch her name) was fab, interacted with the children and made sure everything in the room was perfect.
I will be 100% returning and would recommend this as a kids party setting as literally everything is taken care of. Thank you Evie and our lovely party host you made sure everything was perfect!

Went here yesterday in January with my partner for axe throwing and it was so fun. Really good for letting off steam and having a laugh. You get half an hour with some time being instructed using different axes. Within ticket price you get access to the assault course which is brilliant. Would highly recommend for families with teenagers that need to release some energy and also work team building days.

Excellent place for kids n adults. I think an hour is enough to get around everything for a girl who's 3. The trampolines and slides are excellent and the cafeteria. It's not expensive Either for under 5s defo a place to go if you want to have a birthday party too. Love jump heaven !!

This is a well equipped, clean and warm center. Great base for outdoor education, family get-togethers and the woodcraft folk Eastern region AGM. We come every year and love our weekend away.

Nice choice of activities and engaging staff members who look after you well.
Downside, activities we did were short, about 20mins each after the briefings, making it a very expensive experience for what we did!

We did the I fly and assault course, while the I fly was good and worth the money, I didn't think much of the assault, it took less than a minute to complete. The facilities are great and the free sanitary in ladies toilet is a nice touch.
Have to say it would be nice for the staff to have it built in about validating the parking token, I actually didn't even see a sign, although my son said he did after we got bk to carpark, I had to send him back to get the carpark token validated for it was going to cost me £25 once done it cost me £3.50.

We took our sons to rock reef for the first time this weekend for my youngest son’s birthday treat, they both had a brilliant time.

All the staff are very helpful, good safety briefing with clear instructions given.

There is a good selection of different climbing walls, I loved the fact you could easily see what walls are in use from the padded mat that goes down on the floor when you climb, it really easy to spot which walls were free without having to constantly be looking up. We didn’t have to wait long periods of time for any of the walls, it was very well organised.

They decided they also wanted to do the pier cave (and wanted me to join them too!) warning for parents - it is very narrow inside the tunnels! Just the one time around was plenty enough for me 🤣 they enjoyed going around a few more times without me, but didn’t do it for a full half hour.

Thank you rock reef for the 1/2 price locals offer you have running, we really appreciated it! The boys are already asking when we can return, so we will be back again soon.

Our 1st time here with my foster son and his friends and they had the best time, it’s like Aladdin’s cave with floors of fun you can’t see.
The food was better than most for a play centre and the staff go out of their way to make your experience here great. Will definitely come again.

A great place with a wide range of activities. I took my Daughter who is registered blind and they were wonderful. Special thanks to Connor who accompanied my Daughter on the high ropes and literally showed her the ropes. We did archery with Matt who put balloons on the target so my Daughter could hear when she hit the target. A top notch and inclusive experience.

I went there with my son for the weekend with the Tourettes association.

The woodlands staff put in a number of different activities for us all to participate in, including kayaking, canoeing, zipline, Wall climbing and tree tops to name a few.

The cabin we stayed in was nice. Back to basics... only beds in there. Short walk to the toilets and showers.

Really enjoyed our time here and will look at coming back again in the future.

Just had our daughters 7th birthday party here today and our party host was great infact all the staff were , the kids had a great time and we can't wait to come back :) X

We went for the Segway forest experience over the weekend and we an absolutely amazing time. Our instructor Erin did a fabulous job she was happy, friendly and very professional, highly recommended. The forest is beautiful and it even nicer when you can see it from Segway. Thank you for the great experience.

Lovely forest with lots of different things to do, my son loved the GoApe, you can choose different levels that are suitable for their capabilities. My son did the tree top adventure +. The staff were friendly, informative, and safety conscious at all times.

Lovely location, nice play park for the little ones. Treetop challenge was definitely great fun. Kinda wish to have upgraded to challenge +. Either way, it was worth it. The only downside is parking, going into double digits ££ fairly quickly.

Great fun to have in an afternoon, we did the challenge plus course and it did not disappoint us, although we did finish it very quickly (2hrs) but the activities and course were fun and exciting. Worth the trip from London! Staff are also friendly and knowledgeable and easy to interact. The only downside I would say is that there are very minimal instructors around the site in case of an emergency. Would recommend.

Visited here with my little girl because we won a voucher for 10 free climbing sessions.
Despite the free sessions the staff are still very kind and helpful towards us. Will return after we have used up the voucher. Thank you.

We book the Thorpe Woodlands Centre every year as our annual family getaway. We are a large group of 30. The staff are incredibly wonderful. Very helpful and friendly.
Special thanks to Tim who is extremely nice always during our stay.

Very fun (if a little terrifying) adventure through the trees. The initial safety explanation is succinct and engaging, and then you're left to have fun clambering across shaky bridges and tightropes.

We then spent the rest of the day exploring Thetford Forest, which included playing some adventure golf, and taking part in orienteering.

If the weather's on your side, this is a really great way to spend the day! 🌲🐒

This was our first time at Thetford and we had a super time, my grandson did the Adventure +, thoroughly enjoyed it. The instructors were friendly and made sure everybody knew the rules. We took the dog and walked her through the forest which she really enjoyed. Nice cafe

Best day out for the children. Book in advance. Lots to do from rafting and canoeing to tell tree climbing, adventure trails and cycling. Well worth a visit. Cafe, restaurant and amenities available. Lovely walks and horse riding trails.

We have been a few times as a family and always enjoyed it! The staff are friendly and it’s a decent value family activity

Had a great time at Go Ape Thetford. The course was challenging but achievable for us, and we are reasonably active but did not have any climbing experience. We took our time going through the course, and it took us around two hours to complete. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the comprehensive safety briefing made sure that we felt confident throughout the activity.

The surroundings are beautiful and there are trails you can go biking or walking on after finishing at Go Ape. There are also free toilet facilities and a drinking water tap to fill bottles. The cafe serves hot food, including burgers and macaroni cheese, as well as sandwiches and pastry items. Parking is a bit steep at £3 an hour, but we received a voucher from the Go Ape staff for free parking the next time we go.

Overall, we enjoyed it a lot and would consider going to other Go Ape sights around the country.

The team is really nice and encouraging.
The harnesses and equipment are taken care of and checked after each use.
The courses are thought out with one exception (the reason I've given 4 stars instead of 5) 6 year olds+ are allowed on without an adult. My daughter, being a new 6 year old, was feeling brave and wanted to do the course alone. And although she's tall at 4ft, there were a few parts of the course where she struggled clipping herself on. Luckily enough, a slightly older kid was happy to help her, but it did make me slightly nervous from the ground. It needs a minimum 4ft 6-inch height limit for unaccompanied children.

This was bought for us as a gift, Archery and Axe Throwing. Venue is easy to get to, clean and well set out. Various activities available, each housed in their own specific area, axe throwing, shooting, archery, climbing, shark diving, escape rooms. Each activity needs to be booked separately, age restrictions apply, (18 for shooting, 15 for Axe throwing, 8 for archery, ), so check before booking. Arrive half hour early to book in and fill in waivers and validate parking token for reduced parking charge ,( East 5). Cafe on site , drinks and snacks at reasonable prices. Small gift shop, also reasonably priced. Staff at the venue are helpful , friendly and knowledgeable . Axe throwing in particular was great fun. Full instructions and safety advice is given at activity start, (5 minutes). Axe throwing lasts 45 minutes. Archery was also very good, professionally run with a clear emphasis on safety. Session length was half an hour. Full use of assault course is included in the price, however we didn't use this due to ongoing knee problems, but guests using the course seemed to have a good time. Great day out , sessions could have been slightly longer but would definitely go here again. Prices of activities vary from £20 upwards, booking in advance gets cheaper price . Excellent.

My daughter and I had an hour of really good climbing experience with an instructor for £30. Really good value.
Due to the gradual nature of the lesson, my daughter was given the confidence to reach the top of the wall.
Highly recommend 👌

Fantastic entertainment for kids & adults! I took my daughter & her friend both 7 years old & they loved it.
Slightly more pricey then a few other trampoline/play centres but well worth it. (£10 for an hour) (£2 for socks). The hour went too fast with the amount of different things to do. Good selection of food/snacks & drinks. Ample seating area for those who would rather watch. Very Clean throughout, nice, friendly staff. Highly recommend & will be returning soon!!

I had booked it for my son and didn’t expect to take part never mind enjoy it but i was welcomed to join in and was glad I did!
Very safe and supportive environment while still feeling challenging and fun.My son (age 11) thought it was the best thing we did on our few days away.

My son had his 8th birthday party here recently; he and his friends had loads of fun climbing and caving. The instructors were great with the kids; both those that had climbed before and complete beginners, and all the kids had a blast. Very easy as a parent too; we just turned up with a cake and lunch bags and Boathouse did the rest. Would highly recommend!

Cute, fun, family owned gym with all you need to get started with climbing or to get a good workout if you're experienced. Super reasonable prices and very friendly staff.

Can not rate this place highly enough! My 8 Yr old daughter just had her bday party here and the kids all had the most incredible time. So so many activities to do for children and adults. The staff were fantastic with the kids and really helped with their confidence. Will definitely be going back again and again. Worth every penny!

We booked an activity day to celebrate a 30th birthday there were 7 of us, ages 58, 52 31,30,26, 26 and 22, Naomi looked after us for the day and she was fantastic, we did zip wire, archery and raft building. We were going to do treetops bit unfortunately the eldest of us was a little large around the middle and was told he couldnt do that so we swappped things around, really recommend and would love to do this again.

Perfect adventure. My partner and I had an amazing day climbing, caving and gorge walking in Nidderdale (MAD 5). Our guide Richard was fantastic, he was knowledgeable and made us both feel safe and supported doing activities that we had never tried before. We would definitely recommend and would definitely book with Lost Earth Adventures again.

Reasonably priced

Glamping fantastic! Stayed in the Escape Pods for the weekend and it was great. The large hall and outdoor kitchen made cooking and eating very easy. The cooker is commercial grade so was able to cook a lot in one go. With the facilities, toilets and showers, just a short walk away, both kept clean over the weekend. The woods are great for exploring and a firepit at night added to the enjoyment. The pods were so warm overnight, with an electric heater if needed, but it wasn't, all very comfortable. There are coat hooks and shoe boxes outside in the porch area to keep the pod clean and dry. You're away from it all, so quiet, almost back to nature.

Great mini golf course and kills and hour or so for a reasonable price. Top tip! Watch out for the rapids that give you a chance of a hole in one when the ball goes over the grid..... Around hole 12 I think......

Excellent Accessible boats easy to manoeuvere and good fun !

Visited with my daughter. Both new to climbing although we did visit here once last year. Brilliant instructor led session, introduction to bouldering and a go on the automatic belaying (not for the fainthearted!) We only spent an hour but were impressed by the cheerful instructor (sorry I didn't get his name) the safety instruction and also the flexibility of the staff- while we were there they received a last minute booking and agreed to stay an extra half hour past closing time. It seems to be a small centre but there's a lot there. Really enjoyed our visit and will go again when we visit Llandudno.

I came here for a mini golf tournament and I must say it was a tournament worthy course. Great holes with a really lovely feel. Really nice water features. Really friendly staff and a lot of hand gel dispensers available.
