Great little army museum and although it does not say it is cheaper for veteran's.
Lots of great information and artifacts on the British Army, ranging from its birth in the 17th century up until the modern day.

Highlights are the considerable amount of uniforms, artifacts, equipment and weaponry on display - as well as a Lynx helicopter and Challenger 2 tank.

There's also a lot of insight into day-to-day life of a soldier, their stories and the campaigns that the British Army took part in.

This place is a must for anyone interested in British military history. The museum does a great job of telling the history of the British Army and has an impressive collection of arms and artifacts. I’m very interested in the Anglo-Zulu War, so it was fascinating to see the display and painting of Isandlwana. Other things not to miss include the bones of Napoleon’s horse and Lawrence of Arabia’s robe, headdress, and dagger.

The museum inside is very neat, very clean. All descriptions are very nicely described, copied and numbered very well. Inside there is a great mix of three historical eras that fit together very well. The museum also has a bathroom, clean, which you can use, the shop is quite small but the prices and souvenirs are great! I recommend it for a small attraction.
Not very big, but interesting. You can see weapons from different periods, medals, uniforms and other military accessories. However, not as spectacular as I would have expected. There are not many fighting machines/tanks/planes or other massive exhibits.
You need 60-90 minutes to visit it.
Entrance is free.
The museum also has a cafe where you can also have lunch.

A fabulous place full of history and information! Very recommended to visit. Came here in the morning, and left for lunch, then still thought of it so came back and visit again. The cloakroom is free of charge, which is really impressive and the staffs are very friendly. Would recommend everyone to buy something or at least donate a bit to support the museum, it’s really a treasure to have such a museum for everyone, no matter military, veterans, civilians or just history-lovers like me! It’s also a good place for children since they have some places and activities designed well.

Good museum telling the history of war. Free entry and no reservation is needed.
Not as big as the major museums in London but it is enough for you to spend an hour there.

Loved out visit, the films being played really changed the pace from a typical museum experience.

This museum is the place to go if you want to see british small arms from history. Although they do have a great variety of arms from other countries.

The temporary exhibit on sheakspear and the army was thought provoking, despite not being a Real fan of poetry and theater it really made me consider how armed forces have been percieved throughout history

Really good little museum. If you are interested in the army then there is alot to see, at certain times you can handle objects. My son wanted to visit but he's not really into all the reading but still enjoyed it. We had a game of battleships too and a few goes on the shooting game. I'd definitely recommend a visit. Reasonably priced and ticket valid for 12 months.

This is a great place to visit for all the family. It really gives a comprehensive history of Army aviation. There's plenty of parking and a cafe to keep everyone well fed. Booking is highly recommended as it can get busy

Wonderfully designed museum, well worth a visit.

The museum tells the story of the Yorkshire regiments from their raising to today. The museum is designed chronologically, with exhibits and artifacts from each period. A helpful timeline shows key points, such as battles, world events, and the structure of the units, such as individual regiments being raised and folded together as the army reduced in size, but it is the artifacts on display which tell the story. I'm deeply impressed by the breadth of the items on display here, as well as their explanatory text.

Someone knew what they were doing, and had access to hundreds of years of artifacts to make for a compelling experience. Everything here is done right. The lighting, the organization, and there's even things for smaller kids to do. You can't go wrong with a visit.

Great place to explode a bit of amazing history with the family, young or adolescent - the exhibits are really family friendly and offer an education to those inclined to read and listed to the exhibits.
Great selection of aircraft from across the ages. The cafe was a great stopping place for lunch with the kids and provided a welcome break in proceedings to recharge the kids for the second half of the exploration.
My favourite exhibits were the massive wooden gliders from WW2 - amazing story and history in them.
Hey, if you're into war history, you gotta check this out! Take two hours to read through all the info, it's worth it. And the price is super cheap for such an awesome experience.
Incredibly interesting! Walked in to find a military helicopter on my right and a piece of the Berlin Wall on my left! The place has a very good cafe and displays such as the creation of the British army! It’s also free to enter, so that’s Maybe £30 saved!

Outstanding museum with excellent exhibits and a really friendly team. Great for families - their holiday activities look ace. The displays are fairly open and there are lots of interactive things to do.
Really interesting place to visit. Ticket price gives you 1 year of entry so you can go back numerous times.
Cafe food and drink was good and fairly priced.

Amazing little place. Can't believe how many meaningful objects and stories they managed to elegantly fit in there. Most of it local units related that were deployed worldwide and took part in many historical events.
Definitely one of my favorite war museums with its own distinct personality.
Cheap entry and cool stuff in the souvenir shop as well

Absorbing place and a great cafe .Entrance fee is valid for 12 months do subsequent visits are free.
Great people to get on with in the entrance part, a wonderful museum for all type old and young had a fun day and lurned some things I never knew, come along you'll enjoy your day out here.
Had a great walking tour of Thetford on Sunday. Great weather and very knowledgeable guides, time flew by. If you get a chance book up for next year when the bookings open. The places apparently go very quickly. Museum is free to entry.
Been on the bucket list list , was brilliant free too with nearby filming locations , famous Jones’s in nearby steam museum, friendly informative staff plenty to see a must for the fans of the show loved it , should be supported by local councils as the money they bring to the town be thousands, or national lottery grant 👍👍👍👍
This is the place for all dads army fans . Tucked away in sleepy Thetford, Norwich. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Some of the information provided by friendly helpful staff was amazing. A must for all fans 👍
Today, we had a great Thetford location tour by Rod, and two other museum volunteers (sorry I can’t remember their names!) The tour was brilliant, and packed with details about filming locations around Thetford. It was very well planned out and so many memories of a great British sit-com we all love. Dads Army was the best, and the museum staff keep that memory alive. Following the tour, which finished at the Museum, we had refreshments and a good look around at the artefacts and mementoes of the series displayed within. I wholeheartedly recommend booking a location tour when dates become available, which fill up quickly! No visit is complete without taking home some souvenirs from the well stocked gift shop. Well done to you all!
Very good, bit small, but worth a visit if you're in the area. Small museum, tea room and a brass band. Free entry, free parking and dog friendly.
Inside the Edinburgh Castle has three Museums, Royal Regime is one of that.
Which is located in front of the Royal Scots Dragoon Museum (Pipe man).
It is little bit smaller than (space and other things) other two museums , but worth to watch.
No need to buy ticket for this, you can enter freely after you entered the castle .
Absolutely amazing place , lots of original props from the show very informative, lots to see and a lovely little cafe as well .plus, it was free entry, which was amazing . They have a great souvenir shop where you can purchase lots of dads army related items . It was not a particularly large museum but had so much to see and do in there that it felt big if that makes sense .plus so many more dad's army related maps of the area and filming locations . Wonderful informative and helpful volunteer staff . A must see place to visit in the beautiful town of Thetford
Great walking tour. Guides informative, funny and made the whole tour enjoyable. Great to see Jones's van on the move. Loved the museum. Cup of tea was very welcome. Highly recommend.
Good displays lots of good things to see .
The down side is the lift I came here with my boyfriend who was disabled we got stuck in the lift we had to get rescued by the fire brigade we got told we would get a phone call but we are still waiting.
The sad part was it would have been nice just to see how we were doing !
We might come back but we will not be able to see all the museum neither of us want to risk going into the lift again !

Fantastic visit! This is not a very big space but it is packed with interesting items. 3 floors! If you stopped and read everything, you could easily spend a day here. The entrance fee is under £5 and lasts for a year! Best value I have come across. I really did enjoy my experience here and wish I had had more time.
Fabulous place, I think it's voluntary run, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff. Dog friendly. We had tea and cake in the Marigold Tearooms, sat outside because we had our dog. Really lovely place. Donation boxes around as entry is free, more than happy to donate. Brilliant.
Another great museum to see within the castle grounds
Informative museum of Scottish military history located inside Edinburgh Castle. Many amazing authentic pieces demonstrate centuries of military superiority. The walk is well worth the trouble to reach this one of a kind museum. FOLLOW ME for more thoughtful recommendations as I travel the world 🌎

It had a lovely appearance from the outside. Some interesting history, but tired displays and lighting. Needs a modern pick me up to match the bright foyer and building…

The Fusilier Museum is an excellent place to visit. Very interactive and well laid out. A historically well researched and respectful representation of the regiment, past and present. Well worth the entrance fee, valid for visits throughout the year.

Great place, friendly staff should advertise helpful. I organised a tour for 15 people with Paul, who is very knowledgeable and has plenty of stories. The place is packed with memorabilia connected to the Lancashire Fusiliers, both past and present. Well worth a visit and your ticket of £6.95, or £5.95 for senior citizens, can be used over and over again for the following 12 months. There's a nice airy cafe on the 1st floor and a great gift shop for last minute presents.
Interesting military museum with detailed but not overwhelming materials. Worth to visit.
As a history buff I have to say that I cannot fault the premises on the day I have been blown away by the experience, well worth a look at during the viewing of the castle, staff are very nice and friendly and helpful. The place is steeped in history, well worth a visit then a revisit.
Museum dedicated to military uniform and medals. Interesting and lots of artifacts on display for the visual learners. Worth a visit.
Excellent fascinating museum for anyone who loves military uniforms and history.
