The surgery is always busy!.
They still register new patients but do not have time to see their existing patients. Very difficult to get a telephone appointment on week days, weekends and even as an emergency it’s very difficult.
Even with an e-consult they do not respond on time.
Once an appointment has been finally made with a GP they are fair with the treatment.
But most of the receptionists are not very helpful or forth coming. One receptionist who, I found a little approachable and friendly is Shehnaz.

Terrible experience, wrongly diagnosed shoulder issue, given anti inflammatories that were not supposed to be given to asthmatics. The Dr was complacent, didn't even look at my shoulder. Hurried and quite distant in approach. My local GP has since assisted. Tried to call today, woman on the phone started to tell me the line was broken on the phone deterring my call, she simply went quiet and didn't speak any longer. The entire practise is a sham. Complaint passed to NHS.

The Oak Tree Medical Center offers services that are comparatively better than those of its peers in the area. Their website is decent, and online appointments are handled promptly. Special mention goes to Dr. Kanagasundrem, who is notably empathetic and a good listener, always willing to help.

I’m 24 weeks pregnant, I’ve been in horrible back pain till the point where I can barely move & severe headaches. I’ve went in all they have offered me is paracetamol, your health isn’t important and prioritised in other words. Despite me being pregnant they don’t care. Most of these receptionists are rude on the phone and have attitude. Absolutely horrible how you’re treated, and all they seem to offer you is paracetamol despite being in severe pain or having severe headaches.

Absolutely clueless and inefficient. Came 10 minutes early to find queue out the door. Around appointment time went to the front to tell them I had an appt they told me to go back and queue up. Another father and his child who had just arrived walked to the front of the queue told the receptionists that they had appt and were sent up immediately for their appt. Asked from the queue what was happening and a receptionist formed a queue for appts. Sent up for daughter’s appt 20 minutes late. In the 4 years we’ve lived in this area the automated sign in screen has never worked. Ridiculous.

I was called for an appointment to see the nurse. However, she had an emergency and had left. I was left waiting for 45 minutes and then was told that someone else will see me. Unfortunately, the other nurse was attending to her patience whilst I waited further 45 minutes. In the end, I had to leave due to work commitments.
I am disappointed and annoyed that my time was wasted and I was still not seen after waiting 1 and half hour. It would have courteous to call and cancel or rebook the appointment.

I have been a patient of the practice for over 25 years now, although thankfully hardly ever visit the surgery and when I do need to, I know it can be challenging to make an appointment to see a doctor. However, I have had reason to visit recently and would just like to share that the service, care and attention I received from Dr Kanagasundrem has been first class! Not only did I benefit from his vast experience and knowledge, nothing was too much trouble for him when reviewing my issues and he was extremely thorough to ensure we reviewed and explored all avenues to determine the root of the problem, so thank you Dr Kanagasundrem.

Good practice with caring Doctors
I recently had a concern and Dr Sharma treated and quickly requested the necessary tests etc ASAP. Also she quickly followed up and communicated with me as soon as my test results were in informed of the outcome. Amazing service and care.

None of the stars deserve the service. The reception department is bad and racist towards foreigners, and after waiting an hour and a half while waiting for the call time, they close the conversation before it ends. I hope this does not happen again.

After waiting for my appointment on the phone for two hours, and then the phone was disconnected because I am a foreigner, and it was disconnected in my face. Then I tried again. I waited for the doctor to call, but he did not call. Very bad service at the reception desk.

Rang today for an appointment, was No. 11 in the queue, got cut off. Rang straight back, got to No. 10 got cut off again!, Rang back, no appointments available. This is not the first time this has happened. The telephone system is a complete joke.

This is how work out GP practice. No patients but also not available appointments. I waiting for blood test and they late 😡🤦🏻♀️

know in the morning and they assured me the appointment would be for both and now changed their minds and completely left me out of it and without appointment, they never have availability or appointments any time we call they ALWAYS say their fully booked even when we try to book in advance . I am also taking regular medication that is making me unwell I've been trying to get a new appointment to sort this out and I have been ignored as usual . I am not happy at all with the GP service and I believe this should change asap !

Do not go to this doctors made me and my partner go days without tablets staff are rude at the front desk plus wated on phone for over hour after being told no appointment s left to sort are tablets but got told to ring at 9am which we did not happy 😒

Rang at 8.00 for my partner due to lump and didn’t answer kept ringing when eventually answer offerd a 3 week later oppitment , reception staff are rude have no sympathy ! Deserves to be shut down always a recurring situation

Two weeks ago I got two pre booked appointments for next day,
I got blocked duct and it turned into abscess so this time I had to do review check up and there is another lumps so I wanted to have check up as soon as possible , I don’t want another abscess situation, but this time I didn’t get pre booked appointment,
Receptionist told me they don’t do pre booked appointment , if you guys can’t do pre booked appointments then how come I got two pre booked appointment earlier.
And there is one guy mention in review he always get pre booked appointments.

You’re waiting at least an hour to speak to a receptionist, even if you call at 8am. This surgery has not recovered since COVID, something seriously needs to be sorted as this is not acceptable

Michelle was very helpful and made a complicated case stress free. People need to remember that most GPs these days are extremely busy and any perceived problems they may have with the place are going to be found everywhere. Keep up the good work Ormeau Park Surgery.

I honestly can’t believe how unserious they are when it comes to patient care . I called them to arrange an appointment to see a Gp to get prescription for iron tablets and folic acid as Iam pregnant. And recent blood test shows my HB is low . Explained all the symptoms I was experiencing including nausea and vomiting , fatigue and dizziness , the excessive vomiting means I need strong anti emetic. I was told someone will call me on the day 13.06/2023 I called the surgery around 8am best believe nobody called me. I will not recommend this surgery to anybody. No compassion at all

I have the used for general check up and blood test so far and it has been superb so far.
Booking appointment has been easy for, even getting same day appointments. You do end up on call que( was on call number 22 this morning!) but still managed to get same day appointment.

Always been able to get an appointment. Even when you phone on a Monday morning and your 25th in the queue.

Absolutely amazing staff, Doctor Sandra and the reception staff who were working on 23/12/2022 pretty much saved my life by submitting a 2 week cancer referral before the christmas break, they went above and beyond to make sure that I got the appointment asap. Cannot thank them enough.

Unlike the other reviews, the GP, nurses and receptionists have left me with an overall very positive experience. Yes, the building doesn't look great and would benefit from a revamp but most importantly the staff treat you with care and that's all you can ask!

Abysmal. Never get through. Phone just cuts you off. If you do get through there fully booked after 200 times of calling. No point having a doctor as you can never see one.

This surgery is useless , been a patient for 6 years . It has got worse with every improvement they bring in ,can never get an appointment waited nearly an hour on phone today from opening to make appointment. Same everytime you ring either appointments gone or on hold for over half hour .No help from receptionists on most enquires, No bookable appointments in advance are ever available, even for those with long chronic conditions no regular contact with a GP / nurse . Pot luck you might get to see or speak to a GP 3/4times in a year about ongoing issues .

Never had an issue with this surgery, the staff are always polite. the surgery uses an online platform called e-consult for bookings which is very fast, I always get called back and just last week I had an over the phone appointment, the doctor was fantastic due to the doctor not been satisfied with the outcome she called me in for a checkup.

Useless doctors. Cannot book an appointment ever to see a doctor in person. You have to call at 8 in the morning for an appointment the same day and when you finally get through to them all the appointments are gone so you have to call back the next day. The appointments are over the phone first which is a waste of time for an ear infection that I needed to see the doctor for and also needed the doctor to feel my son’s stomach. They refused to book him a face to face appointment and said we need to go to A &E which is a waste of the hospitals and my time as it is something the doctor can do themselves without us having to wait 4hours in the hospital. They always mess up my son’s prescriptions even though he has had the same ones for 3 years, when you ask them to rush a prescription through that you need asap (as they didn’t send it to the chemist) they take too long to sign it off and leave you without the prescriptions you need

Very rude staff. Snotty and superior. Not an isolated incident either, the last two times I've phoned for an appointment it's been like pulling teeth. They insist on treating you like an 18 year old who is trying to skip work.

Difficult to get through on the telephone. loads of hrs waiting for phones as always engaged. good doctors but rediculous telephone oppointments, over prescribed patients with little staff to attend telephones. I often give up and suffer, then have 10 minutes or less as staff advise me once a year short periods of consultation.
