My mom was in West heath hospital for 3 weeks staff there were so caring and helpful they made my mom who is 94 so comfortable and she felt cared for every day thank you to all the staff on ward 11

What a clean home and lovely staff as well as the care manager as well very friendly and very helpful. The home is set in beautiful surroundings. Keep up the good work every one !.

My nan was here for 4 years after moving around multiple homes before. The care she had was brilliant, always entertained and well looked after.

My mother has been a resident of Abbotsleigh for 12 months and I am delighted with the care she receives and how she has settled down. It is quite a distressing time when a loved family member is struck down with Alzheimers dementia. My mother was clearly stressed, confused and aggressive towards strangers and new situations. Through it all the team at Abbotsleigh have been calm, reassuring and patient. It has worked, my mother is much calmer and due to the relatively low turn over has become comfortable with all the members of staff and regularly of her care tells me that they are all wonderful and caring towards her. I have been involved in every step to the level I wish and the staff are always polite and willing to answer any questions I have. I am pleased that my mother is in such a safe and secure caring environment and I applaud their substantial efforts to make the lives of the residents as enjoyable as possible.

My Mum was placed at Abbotsleigh Care home for end of life treatment. Her care was exemplary from the time that she arrived there until she passed away on 11.09.2023.
She was given excellent care, love and attention by all the staff. We were kept informed and updated frequently if there were any changes at all.
The visiting family and friends were all shown friendship and consideration by the Abbotsleigh Team. Nothing seemed too much trouble.
We were so grateful that Mum's last days were the best they could be, under the circumstances.

My dad was admitted to ward 14 from heartlands hospital. The nurses and the care assistants involved in his care was absolutely amazing. Unfortunately dad got ill and was transferred to Moseley Hall hospital because they haven't got a over night doctor on call. Thank you to all the staff you are fantastic

Good place to work and be cared for

My father in law has been staying at Larchmere for several months, so we have got to know the place and the brilliant staff that work there.
I must say I have never experienced such a warm welcome every time we visit, all of the staff are so committed and go out of the way to care for, and entertain all of its residents. Most days they organise wonderful activities and often lunch trips out to the local pub with the residents relatives.
If you are looking for a friendly, clean, wonderful atmosphere and amazing staff to look after you or a family member, I recommend you go and visit and take a look for yourself.

Larchmere is a lovely rural home, small enough to have a family feel. Staffed by a dedicated team of people working together to meet the needs of all the residents. Their activity team provide a monthly schedule of varied daily activities, in house entertainers and outings for residents and family to participate in as they desire, all of which enables those there to live their best possible lives.

My husband has been a resident since July 2022,the care he has received is second to none.Confidence is inspired the minute you walk through the door, there is a cheerful atmosphere provided by very caring staff who always have a smile however difficult the day. Activities from quizzes, games and crafts, animal visits and a variety of visiting musical entertainment are provided by a dedicated and enthusiastic activities team. I wouldn't want him anywhere else.

My Father in Law is a resident at this care home, he has complex care needs and is in the final stages of life. I cant recommend Larchmere enough, there is an established team of care and nursing staff and they are brilliant with the service users, treating them with dignity and respect. They make sure that everyone has what they need to be comfortable and happy. The activities are thoughtful and plentiful, the facilities are also good and perfectly placed for the residents needs.

Recently had a positive experience with manager Nikki.

My. Mum has gone from almost not being around to making Great Progress All Great Thank you to Abbotsleigh care staff 👍👍👍👍 Thank you SO VeryMuch xxxxx

Happy Christmas 🎅🏻 🎄

I've been taking classes with Sandie for many years now, and have never been bored! She is a great teacher, communicates clearly and patiently, and is always willing to offer advice and share her knowledge of all things Pilates and Osteopathy (as well as life in general!) Adapting to giving classes on Zoom presented a challenge she has risen to heroically, and I continue to look forward to my weekly session.

Stiff neck and back from an office job or mid-week low mood? Pilates classes with Sandie can help for both! Sandie is the most resourceful, knowledgeable, warm and funny movement teacher I have come across - there is no problem Sandie can’t help with. Her background in osteopathy means she always looks at things from a holistic point of view.
In the beautiful venue of St Barnabas Church or from the comfort of my home during these times, a Pilates class with Sandie leaves my body comfortable and my mind relaxed. I couldn’t recommend her more – so lucky I found her!

I met Sandie 8 years ago after years of back pain, a slipped disc and spinal surgery and I'm sure it is her and her pilates classes that keep me moving and upright. As a trained osteopath she is reassuring and encouraging and stretches us both physically and mentally in a safe and fun environment! I really recommend her.

Sandie is a perfect Pilates teacher, ensuring that all the exercises are matched to our needs and capabilities whilst continually pushing us on further. The classes are also filled with laughter - always important! I would thoroughly recommend her classes to both beginners and experts.

I have known Sandie for almost 18 years and some regular Pilates sessions with her twice a week since! She is a fabulous teacher. Very experienced and continues to develop professionally all the time. Her classes are really good fun. There is a always a professional ambiance but scope for chat and interaction with the other class members. There is often a new element to some of the classes so they are never boring. She pays attention to detail, including always asking about any injuries that we may have sustained in order to work with those problems rather than ignoring them. This is always helpful.
I’m most recent months with Coronavirus amidst us, she has turned her skills to enabling us to continue with doing Zoom Pilates. It wasn’t the easiest of transitions for her as it has always been a face to face , personal interaction. But it has worked amazingly well and long may it continue whist we cannot meet in person.
I can not recommend her and her classes highly enough.

I started learning pilates with Sandie several years ago. She is a great teacher who gently encourages everyone to learn at their own pace, taking into account any limitations and always with care for safety. As a result the classes always provide the right degree of challenge in a friendly and supportive way

A Pilates class with Sandie is an absolute joy. She combines expert knowledge, teaching and guidance with humour and sensitivity; the result being that I leave every class feeling better not only physically but emotionally as well. A wonderful way to spend an evening after a long day.

I did my first Pilates class in 1993 in KIngs Cross and was hooked.
Since then I have continued to practice and moved to Pilates in Dulwich approx 23 years ago.
Sandie is a brilliant teacher. Her attention to detail is second to none. Our classes are small so she can work with our individual strengths and weaknesses and her eagle eyes miss nothing. I think one of her strengths is her explanation of each movement and why we do it. Correct technique is always emphasised and equally importantly she encourages you to develop a real feel and understanding of how your body moves.
Over the years, our bodies change so much but pilates has kept me flexible and my joints mobile.
It also has to be said that she has a great sense of humour so classes are a joy and a pleasure to attend. I always feel the benefit of my class even when I feel so tired I do not think I have the energy for anything.
Having your pilates teacher being an osteopath is definitely an added bonus. Sandie brings all her knowledge and skill to the class.
I am always confident in class because she takes care to know how each of us are feeling and if there are things I cannot do she will always have a tailored alternative.
I would say if you are looking for a pilates teacher who is really committed to helping you maximise your ability to move, keep your joints mobile, who understands the connection between mind, body and emotion then you will not find a better teacher.

I spent time here You guys are great and helped me out. I've been out now for 7 years and I haven't been back since. I'm now married and I've got a great relationship with my family thanks to you all. The staff are great and I wouldn't change my time there for anything. Thank you very much.

Very caring and friendly staff. Always feel welcomed. Grounds are well cared for and looked after as well as the residents inside. Food always looks delicious and is well presented like it would be in a hotel.

Visited a friend who has been at the QE for some time and then moved to Moseley Hall for a couple of days then to Willow House at West Heath Hospital for rehab. The ward and staff were very pleasant and helpful. We think that her rehab will progress positively of the next few weeks and hopefully she'll be going home before long :)

My Dad recently spent almost a month in the Willow ward.
The staff were EXCELLENT.
Always cheerful and willing to offer advice and information when asked.
They were all superb.
The hospital itself is spotlessly clean.
Well done to all.....you deserve all the praise you get.

After reading the poor ratings that other people had given West Heath Hospital, I was aprehensive about what we would find when we went to visit a close relative who is recovering from an operation on her hip.
I can't comment on some of the complaints made by other people reviewing this place, but in my opinion the staff were kind and friendly, the ward was spotless and cheerful, and by all accounts the food was excellent.

A member of my family is currently in this home and has been for a a couple of months.
Some staff are very caring and nothing is too much trouble but then are other members of staff that have no compassion to the resident or to the family member.
It is very important that staff realize that a families loved one is in the unit and they should be careful how they talk about that person as i have had to make a complaint in regards to the way we have been spoken to and also my family member.
I do not think that enough is done with the residents and they seem to just be put in the day area and no activities take place or one to one chats with the resident.
I find that a lot o the time the staff are huddles together talking and eating and are not concerned about what is going on.
We have had issues with dirty laundary being sent home with soiled pads in and also lost clothing which is very annoying.
The home is kept very clean and the meals for the residents seem to be healthy and of a good variety.
I feel it is very important for all staff to think about how we feel as family as some of the attitudes stink compared to others

An absolute disgrace of a hospital, my grandad was checked into willow ward, who were on arrival rude and uncaring of my nans need to use a toilet even going as far to tell her there were no visitor toilets (my nan is a kidney cancer sufferer so was very uncomfortable and distressed not using the toilet). I visited my grandad at willow ward yesterday 6.7.17 and on my arrival was 28 degrees, i arrived at 2pm and left at 4pm durin this time (we were in the garden area) not one staff member came to check on my grandad or ask if he needed tolieting or a drink of water in the heat in fact i had to go and get a drink for him and ask a relative to bring water with her as none was available for my ill nan. There is a lack of caring nature, and each time i have visited random patients have asked me to ask for a nurse as they have been waiting for the toliet. My grandad has a high risk of falls and is unsteady on his feet and i have observed him being left unaided and unattended in the toliet while the staff member takes a stroll up the corridor ( he was only taken to the toliet at all because i put him in a wheelchair and took him to a staff member) so then i took over anyway to assist with his tolieting so may as well have taken him myself. There was a lack of documentation about bruising on my grandads body and when questioned about this the paper work appeared from nowhere. My grandad also has parkinsons and needs medication at specific times each day or begins to shake the medication is not given at the same times as they run late constantly, and when i questioned this it was laughed off by staff and i was told they would be back on track the next day!!!! This is not good enough and i would give 0 stars but it wont let me post without putting at least one star

Lots of good reports

IS THERE ANYBODY WILLING TO PICK UPTHE PHONE. Today, 16th March 2017 I tried to ring the Willow Ward, No body could be bothered to answer. I asked switchboard to put me through to Patient Liaison (sic) again no one could be bothered to answer. Care includes answering the phone. Overpaid and non caring.
