This is the single worst experience in Israel. The service was beyond terrible. 45 minutes to get a glass and plate, another 20 minutes to get silverware. Can’t figure out what’s worse, the food or service….total disaster.

Staff are just kids . They don't really know what day it is. The pizza we ordered came out exactly opposite of how we ordered it. The fish n chips are pretty good.. location is good but the lack of good wait staff ruins it

The food here was pretty good but didn’t wow us. The taste was there but the pastries and fillings were quite dry. I pretty much soaked it in tahini to make up for the dryness. Also, we split 4 pastries, 3 beef and one chicken. The three beef ones tasted nearly the same, we couldn’t tell a difference between two of them, and the third one (the brisket) was definitely the best. We also have the chicken, which was pretty dry, but that’s expected as they are using chicken breasts. The starters were really good. We got the salad, which was well seasoned/dressed and had a variety of toppings that added to the dish and we got the potatoes, which reminded me of a better version of patatas bravas from Barcelona. They were well seasoned and came with two delicious sauces that rounded out the dish. Overall it was the restaurant was really good. There are many options around and this is probably one of the better ones in the area. I recommend.

We ordered take out and did not have a good experience. The fish did not taste fresh at all and in the end we threw away everything we ordered. When I called the restaurant to inform them (politely), the manager was very defensive and insisted that the fish was ordered that same morning. While this may be true, it still had a very strange taste and we did not feel comfortable eating it. I had to argue with the manager just to get a partial refund, which she gave us on the premise that the order arrived late (which after checking with the delivery service we were told it actually arrived early). The customer service was very poor in my opinion.
Amazing food selection, wonderful staff and great.location! Highly recommend.

Decor: interior has a nice modern art deco decor with plenty of interior and outdoor seating.

Service: getting a seat can be difficult on some nights, but make a reservation and you'll be fine. The staff are very friendly and always there when you need them.

Food: Everything is cooked to perfection. but lacks flavor on top of the base food. You'll get the flavor of the raw ingredients. Don't get me wrong, my steak was cooked to a perfect medium, but i wish they put some seasoning, or marinated the steaks. Even some salt and pepper would have done the job.

Overall decent value for your money, but don't Eccleston to be blown away

One of my favorite places near the machine Yehuda Market. The meat is delicious baked in a stone oven and comes with nice little salads there is also a non bred option Wich I took and was really nice. There is a lot of seating areas inside and out
Visited in the afternoon so not too crowded but really loved the vibe! The food specially the mama roll is so delicious! Leah was such a sweet lady and gave me great recommendations.

TL;DR: Not worth the price despite nice ambiance.

We called for a reservation at about 2 PM and they gave us their earliest, 10 PM for dinner. We were prompt and our table was ready. We were asked what we wanted to drink and asked for water; my husband added a shandy for himself. We got the beef carpaccio for an app, I got the sinta and my husband the beef fillet. We were not asked at which temperature we'd like the meat. I also ordered fries.

The appetizer came pretty quickly but the rest of the food took much longer, but I guess not unreasonably so. While waiting, we asked for more water (they brought mineral water in a bottle. Fancy, I thought!) When I got my meat, it was well done at the sides and barely medium in the middle. It was difficult to cut through with my regular knife, so I asked if we could have steak knives. They brought us one knife... for the two of us. I also had a few grilled veggies on my plate, which were stone cold. My husband's meat was better, but when he got to the middle it was blue. We called over the waiter, who disagreed that it was blue but took it back to the kitchen, where they split it and grilled it some more, and then we could eat it. I asked a waiter about the fries, and he said that he'll bring them for me.

So random: my husband's plate came with one random blackened piece of roasted potato. Literally charred black.

I didn't want dessert, so I asked for the check. They had included the fries (which never arrived), so I had to ask for them to be removed. They also charged us for two bottles of mineral water, which I was shocked by, as I had intended tap water and they never asked if we wanted mineral. I thought it was standard in the fancy place and was aghast that I paid 56 NIS for two bottles of water (!!!).

I tipped 18 percent and my total was 575. Honestly I felt ripped off; the meat was only ok, mine was dry and neither were cooked properly, we didn't get fries (which would've helped the lackluster meal) and the ambiance of the boardwalk didn't make up for the ridiculous price tag.

I will discourage my friends from coming here.

Just terrible. I asked for water on a boiling hot day from the waiters who said they would bring. 15 mins later still no water. I went to ask the workers behind the bar for water, they refused to give me any and said the waiters would bring me water. Took half an hour to get water (we were also one of 3 tables at the time). We ordered 2 salads, each was inedible (and we are NOT picky eaters). I went to the bathroom and there was no soap so went to the makeshift kitchen (they were doing a renovation) and THE KITCHEN STAFF ALSO HAD NO SOAP!!! Honestly, been twice and was terrible each time. Will never be back

After a specially tough day and several hours of driving from the south, we stopped at this branch of Japanika to pick up a late dinner.

A welcoming man took our order and another lovely waitress was empathic to how tired we looked.

They both invited us to sit at the bar while looking at the menu, and then again while waiting for our food, and we accepted gratefully.

Oddly, the bar tender wasn't as kind and when we set down the second time to wait for our food he rudly asked us to get off the bar if we don't order drinks (he knew that we were waiting for our take out, and our order did include drinks, but they were to go).

The bar had 9 sits and only one was occupied, yet he chose not to share his empty sits. How sad to see that despite his advanced age and the grey in his hair, he is yet to gain the wisdom that a little kindness can go a long way...

The food was as good as usual, we generally like the Japanika brand and service.

The food was good - but we had such a bad experience and don't want to go back. We arrived around 6:45pm and asked for a table for three. They put us down on the list but couldn't tell me how long the wait was or how many names were on the list before me. I waited for forty minutes while standing and waiting with no update. Finally my name was called and we were seated.
We got no service. I waited around for fifteen minutes while actively trying to get someone's attention for us to order. After someone finally took our order, the food came quickly. However, we couldn't eat the food because we weren't given utensils. We then had to track someone down to give us utensils to allow us to eat. The food was tasty.
We asked several times if we could order dessert but they told us we couldn't order dessert until they cleaned up our dinner plates. Well, we waited for fifteen minutes for someone to clean up our dinner plates. Nobody gave us any attention during this time. We ordered dessert....which took twenty minutes to arrive.
Finally, we got the check which included an automatic 17% tip which we absolutely would not have given them.
This was a waste of our time and money and we would not recommend eating here.
Great dairy option in Jerusalem!
We ordered from both the pizza and Pasta sections, as well as an assortment of appetizers, and everything tasted great.
The service was friendly, helpful and accommodating.
This was our 2nd visit to this restaurant and we're sure to be back again!

Visited Caffit multiple times for breakfast because of hotel link, and sampled different options from the menu. I used to go there in the late 80s and the 90s, so also have memories about it. The food quality is very high and everything I tried was fresh and nice. The Jerusalem salad and the shakshuka are great. Big portions and lovely service.

I went to this restaurant with my girlfriend on her birthday. Firstly, we had to get our own menu after 15 minutes because no one wanted to help us. I walked to waiters three seperate times to let them know we would have liked to order. After 30 minutes still no one helped after which we wanted to know why. We were told by a rude waitress to stay “patient” with an angry tone which cannot be used on customers. Another waiter even offered us a mojito, but the damage was already done and we wanted to leave. Worst bar experience in tel aviv…

WORST RESTAURANT I HAVE EVER BEEN TOO, AND THE RUDEST OWNER EVER. AN ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING AND RUDE PIECE OF DIRT. I HOPE HIS BUSINESS CLOSES DOWN. HE DOES NOT DESERVE TO RUN A BUSINESS. WE HAD 19 PEOPLE THERE AND WE ASKED FOR 4 DISHES TO BE TAKEN OFF AS 2 WERE SENT BACK 4 TIMES AND 2 KIDS BURGER MEALS CAME AN HOUR LATE. NO APOLOGY, NOTHING JUST 'You eat, pay the bill!'. If this was the last restaurant on earth I would not eat there. Save your money.

The waitress/ hostess, Chen, NEEDS to get promoted, given a raise, ANYTHING!!!
For context, I’m in a summer program, and today was a fast day. To compensate for the hunger, we went to this restaurant. Now, it was a fixed menu, and no one could specifically order something that wasn’t being served. I didn’t listen and still tried to order.
The staff by the kitchens were so rude, and they weren’t paying attention to me…
Except for Chen.
She asked me (in a very kind tone) what I wanted, and when I told her what I wanted but she didn’t understand me, she was like “lemme show you the menu so you can see what I CAN do” and then when she put it in I was like “pls make sure there isn’t a lot of oil in the process of making the food” (bit extra but oily things make me nauseous, so) and she said she’d tell the chef.
But this was… astronomically kind…
So me and my group were getting ready to leave, and while I never specified whether my food would be dine in or to go, when I went to get my food, it was ALREADY in a to go container!!!!!!! HOW?!! She couldn’t have known, but she was awesome and so accommodating. 👏👏👏👏👏👏

The food was not good at all. I was there with my friend and we were both disappointed with the food. What made it worse was the waiter... had no concept of service, and the employees were loaded talking and not paying attention to the customers... I think all the guests were looking for the staff as they all stood around the bar talking very loudly. And I'm not sure why, but the hot dish, even though obviously ready and not fresh, came out like 5 minutes before the chopped salad that had no taste and the tahina was just water with no salt and no lemon. We asked for a lemon for the salad, finished eating what we could, and paid, then the waiter brought out a lemon... again standing at the bar. I'm not sure, but I think the managers were standing at the bar as well... lead by example.

The place seems like a lovely place at first but the food was low level and very expensive. We were afraid to eat one of the meals because the meat had a funny texture. The service was not good but also not awful. To sum it up, the place has the highest level of kosher that may affect the taste and the price but you will pay two/ three times more than you should for that type of experience.

שירות מזעזע
חיכינו הרבה מאוד זמן
הביא לנו משהו הרבה יותר קטן ממה שהזמנו ולקח להם הרבה מאוד זמן לסדר לנו את הדבר הנכון
פשוט בושה
The food was very good - a lot of options including very out-of-the-box ones (for example sushi with melted cheddar - didn't test). The service was long and bad even though there was a lot of waiters and no much clients, and the place could appreciate a good cleaning..
Great little sushi bar with a nice selection of delicious food. Ignore the odd layout inside and go with the flow. We were a little unsure at first but the place quickly grew on us once the food arrived. Unlike many places with bland formula sushi, there are some creative choices with good flavor. Would certainly return again.

Went there with a dining partner who doesn't speak Hebrew. Asked for an English menu for her. Got a lecture on needing to speak Hebrew in Israel. Dining partner got up to use the lady's and as she is headed away the server asked if I was ready to order. When I explained that I wanted to wait for my dining partner to be able to come back and look at the English menu that the server brought as she asked, got another mini lecture about wasting the servers' time(restaurant only had three tables in use including us and two already had their food). That was pretty much the tempo for the whole meal. Mediocre food at a premium price served by wait staff for whom rude would have been an improvement.

It is such a shame, such a beautiful place, decent food, and the service and tables are rough. The workers are hard working, yet it seems the system is flawed. Definitely time for self reflection as a business if a large group of people complain. My experience in other locations has never had any flawed, yet this one time and time again there are many. So I can only assume it is some operational and kitchen issues.

But the views are great 👍

Great place very close to Machane Yehuda market. Kosher place.

Fantastic food. The shambushaks are delicious and very filling.

I had the brisket (A+). It was soft, juicy, and delicious. My partner had the tongue (A+).

They had a mint and coriander sauce which was magnificent.
We had a private function here. It is a kosher dairy restaurant.

The food was delicious: I liked the pizza (A+), the hummus (A), the babaganoush (A+), the fish kebabs (A), and the fish "shawarma" (A).

Excellent environment. A pleasure to eat at the bar with Thal and Joan, with their advice and great attention. The quality of the sushi is supreme, highly recommended.

Wish I could give negative stars. Staff with an attitude. I couldn't even get them to take my money. I asked a staff member for the check and he told me he can't help me. I asked him to just tell the hostess whom he was walking toward and he just said, "no." Then he proceeded to have a conversation with her. The schnitzel was made from turkey and was definitely from a frozen package as were the fries. The burgers were fair at best. Stay away, food sucks and the service worse.

Fantastic surprise restaurant. Excellent food and service. Our tour guide recommended this place. It's the place he took his current wife to on their first date. It is not a romantic restaurant in my humble opinion. The food was outstanding though. We had one veal and one brisket Shamburak. A Shamburak is a kurdish-syrian pastry

Great place for dairy food! The restaurant offers a delectable selection of dairy-based delights. There is Free parking which is hard to find in Jerusalem. Finding a spot is hassle-free. The lovely atmosphere adds to the dining experience. Adjacent to the restaurant is a picturesque lake, where you can enjoy your meal while observing wildlife. It's a perfect combination of delicious food and serene surroundings.

Brisket was amazing. Syrian kebab ground beef was good but not as epic. The sauces and condiments we got on the side were fantastic. Could not decide on which beer and the server brought some to taste.
Ambiance is casual. It’s crowded and loud. There’s room to sit at the bar and watch the baking of the pies. Also seating outside.

We came for a sister's lunch hoping for a nice time. We were sat outside in the cold, the waiters constantly forgot we existed. The food was mediocre, quinoa wasn't fresh, vegetables were old. Every dish came at another time so we didn't actually eat together, one finished and then the other came.
Never going there again!

Very slow service, and everything took a very long time. But the food was fresh, portions a little small. But fine overall.
Got there on a business dinner event. Will not go back.
Its a nice place with parking, though the lack of signs made me wonder around looking for the entrance.
The food was not impressive, but fresh and well made. Garden salad with courtly cut tomatoes is nice but it doesn't reflect the cost.
Some dishes were served on paper or thin cardboard that made it difficult to serve and cut. It's not practicle and doesn't add any value in my opinion.

Overall, mediocre experience.

The restaurant is inside the hotel. Beautiful place and decor. We tried some dishes since we had a show to go to near by at the Beit Lesson theater which is about 6 minutes away. Had some fish dishes papaya salad and Susi. Wasn’t bad nor anything special about it also didn’t like the dominant spices and mayo. I will return for the atmosphere and great vibe of the place. And the drinks.
Nice place! Good atmosphere. The mochachino and pizza were great and the staff were very nice and service quick.

OH MY GOD!!! This is my second time in Tel Aviv and OH MY GOD. I loved this place. The staff, the food, the concept, everything is amazing. I want to come back every time I visit this city. Food it’s just an invention, it’s art in its pure essence. The beet root, the sashimi with the purple wasabi, the salads, the desserts as the brownie, the judea wine and the margarita. No words , no stars could explain the magic of this restaurant. I’m just astonished. Thanks for everything!!

Bottom line - if you have a nice budget and want to eat in this part of town, then this place will do.
They offer some signature dishes which I can recommend.

Pros: size of portions; quick service; quality of food; decent vibe.

Cons: very expensive; location has no easy parking; no meat dishes (it's Kosher).

This is a great spot for a very impromptu meal for us. The seating is very comfortable inside and outside and we were giving great service. We happen to be on the right timing for the business lunch, which was from 12 to 5 PM. The best was the appetizer, the pea soup was excellent, and so was the salad. I think the very best after that was the steak – it was cooked perfectly and hard on the outside nice and rare on the inside, and the wine sauce was literally perfect. The chicken pasta was a little weird, but also cook perfectly. Overall a very great experience and we will definitely go back. The service was also excellent!
Visited this restaurant while touring Old Jerusalem. Great staff, great atmosphere and good wine. Spent a relaxing hour chatting with the bartender. Wonderful break for after a full day. Highly recommend.

I always love this place. I usually go to the branch on Emek Refaim street but this was an even better location as the parking is easier and the view of the botanical gardens is spectacular. The restaurant itself is beautiful, service is good. The menu is varied and my favorite dish are the Teriyaki Salmon Skewers served on a bed of basmati rice with green beans and peas on top. It’s something very special. The pasta is excellent and the kids menu is nice sized and reasonably priced.

I really love this place. There is a great outdoor patio that is lovely to sit during the cooler months. Indoors is light and airy and comfortable as well. The menu is varied, food is excellent but a bit pricey. My favorite dish is the teriyaki salmon skewers with rice. Again, a bit on the expensive side but it’s special and different.

so good!! The bread is not only chewy but also crispy, so delicious! just baked, having the smell of wheats. The ribs have great seasoning, juicy as well. Love it!
Came in for an incredible team lunch. The food was amazing (and kosher). It was a delightful and playful meal that had multiple courses. They brought out these beautiful foods quickly and there was plenty to go around. The whimsical take on items like the chicken schnitzel or beet dish was lovely.

Every course was spectacular!

I chose to eat in this restaurant, because this is one of the only Mehadrin Kosher restaurants in Tel Aviv.
First off, it is a very busy restaurant even on a Tuesday night.
I put my name to the wait list and wasnt given instructions where to wait.
After a short wait, luckily I heard my name being called and sat down. Because they have a lot of demand, they need to configure the tables all the time, as a result of that I was asked to move my table’s location twice, which I didnt mind as much.

What bothered me here was mainly one thing, there is a person who kept walking back and forth in the restaurant and monitored waiters and waitresses checked the tables, something must have bothered him a lot because he started arguing with the waitress. Most people probably didnt notice it, but I did.
It is not a good feeling to support such business who doesn’t respect their employees and scold them in public. Sorry to experience this. No great food would make this up.
Malka is a great restaurant experience. You will get delicious chef level food, interesting and exciting menu and fun staff. The place is full of vibes and you’ll feel like you had a night out. This is a Eyal Shani restaurant and is kosher so it’s a real treat for kosher diners and non kosher alike. I got a bunch of dishes. Their famous shnitzel is worth trying as it’s very clever. Also the blintz with pulled beef. Other dishes were great too. Lots of fresh vegetable dishes and meat dishes. I included the menu so you can see. Well worth a visit. A little pricey but worth it.
Excellent food and pleasant ambiance; simple, well-prepared and plated (on cardboard slabs!) Israeli cuisine. Very busy/noisy lunchtime office crowd, but with outside/inside dining areas, and friendly staff.

We were there in an birthday event. I believe that the people who invited us paid a lot of money but the guests got second rate food. Most of the salad and dishes (pasta, pizza) were too salty. There was nothing special or tasty except of the chocolate cake which was served as a dessert and was OK.

Mixed feelings.
There's both indoor and outdoor seating, a "smoking section" outside and the decor is pleasing, though it does feel crowded.
I ordered the fungi pizza and my husband got salmon shawarma. As entrees go, the pizza was a nice size and very delicious (though could've used more mushrooms(, but the salmon shawarma was a bit deceiving. It needed a side salad to round it out as an entree, and we had to ask for the tahini that was supposed to come with it as it was omitted. Also, the menu described it as being in "frena bread", and had we known that they meant "pita", we might have skipped it, for it wasn't satiating enough for my husband.

We were standing at the front desk taking care of our bill when a waitress passed by and tripped. Her tray flew to the ground, glasses shattered and a wave of sauce spattered my husband's jacket and pants. They apologized and tried to help dab it up, but the sauces appeared to be oil-based and the jacket and pants were stained. We're going to have to dry clean them.

I was surprised that nobody offered anything, not a free dessert as an apology, not to pay for the dry cleaning, nothing. We left with a somewhat unpleasant feeling.

EDITED TO ADD: I sent the second half of this review to Caffit's facebook page, and they contacted me! They apologized again, offered us to bring the clothing to the restaurant for them to clean and have prepared us a voucher for a free couple's breakfast! Now that's more like it! I'll let you know how it is. :)

The Kosher restaurant of Eyal Shani which is also a home for youth at risk, a noble cause for itself to enjoy this great place for wine and dine. The place offers great seasonal cousin with a lot of fresh vegetables and fish. Go for the Eggplant with the tomatoes foam, and the night roast. The fish is also a great catch!

I eat at my hometown branch from time to time, so Japanika is no stranger to me. This is another Great branch by Japanika. We came for lunch and the place wasn't stacked. The waitresses were kind and the food was great as usual. Had a great time.
Great restaurant offering a dairy menu with traditional "American-style" Italian offerings. Excellent place for dates! They have a private room too for meetings or larger groups.
משלוח מהיר!
פיצה מצויינת!
שירות מצויין!
וגם מפנקים!!!
תודה רבה פרגו!!!
I am a tour guide and I recently brought a small group to the restaurant for lunch. We were all very pleased with the food, service and environment. A special thank you to Amir who graciously helped us build a menu that suited our needs and budget.

Ok, only reason for coming is if you need some place with kosher certificate. The meat is at its best mediocre, price high, service poor, main dishes were on the table few minutes after starters like they were pre-cooked and warmed up in microwave. Nothing wrong with that, just not in the place with such prices. For me it's never ever again.

The food was great. Not too expensive, considering the quality of the , food, service and ambiance. The waiters were very friendly. The portions were large and delicious. They also had a substantial kids menu which is always a plus when looking for a place to eat out with kids.
Fantastic unique atmosphere underground in an ancient vault next to the Temple Mount with original design decor and great food. Great place for a celebration.
Delicious food really homey will definitely come again.

The sushi was tasty, fresh fish and good rice. The place is very crowded and the sitting arrangement is not so comfortable. Also because of the crowdedness it was really hard to find a waiter at any point of the meal. Prices are reasonable and overall for a kosher place it was pretty good. Perhaps it’s best to reserve a sit ahead.

A really nice and intimate coffee-restaurant place in the middle of Jerusalem. Great, tasty and quality food. Service is friendly, fast and welcoming. Their green Shakshuka is really good! You can also have take away.
Enjoy :)

Excellent pizza
The steak was excellent. It was however very pricey and the portion was quiet small. I guess the way steaks are sold in Israel is by the ounce which is also the price listed. There's also a minimum of I believe 6 oz. I don't often have the opportunity to have good kosher steak so I splurged, but I certainly could not afford to do that often. My wife had the fish special. I think it was Cod. She claimed it was very good as well.
Tourist restaurant. Prices are high, food is medium quality, there is a strange smell inside. The only 2 good things in this restaurant is that it's Kosher (if you care about that) and the fact that it's very close to the Kotel.

Lechem Basar was phenomenal. I was staying just around the corner at The Dan Boutique, and it's just a three minute walk.

I had the house bread as a starter, warm & soft, super tasty. For my main I had the filet, which came with plentiful veggies and roasted potatoes. It was tender and the veggies and potatoes were great, so fresh.

It was a delicious meal, one of the best I had on my trip. Highly recommended!

A chain of sushi restaurants. Located all over Israel. This one, in hertzilya is quite large, they have good seating facility. The food is Asian and the variety is pretty nice. They also have vegan options which is really good. Good to sit for a quiet dinner with friends and family

We were 5 friends and we shared all the dishes. All dishes were very tasty. The Fish Hreimeh and the Minute Steak were turrific!
I gave 4 stars and not 5 because the price of some of the dishes (like the vegetables and falafel) were expensive (although in the end the total for each of us was 270nis which is great)

The place itself looks nice, bright and comfy.
Service was satisfying and fast, restaurant was empty as well.
As in food it was okay, the noodles are good although are just too full with sauces, although it's still worth it.
In the other hand, the sushi was horrific. The fish had a strong taste of as it was frozen and unfresh, the price also doesn't show any fair value, would recommend to avoid their sushi.
Prices in general are fair.

A fab place with a great view to one of the main streets of Tel Aviv. A good service that comes with amazing food dishes that not only look good but taste even better.
I don't think I've had the pleasure of such great sushi in the last couple of years.
I'll be coming back here a least once a month.

Very good location and restaurant is well designed.
Service is great, professional and fast.
The Rib Eye Steak and Salomon dishes are small and pretty expensive (1 star less)
The Senya (chopped lamb meat in cooked bred) is big and very tasty, flagship dish of the place.
Very nice lunch spot in the Old City with very friendly staff.
