Worth watching for this ticket price. Very informative for kids. Arrangements were really good.
Natural history museum, accessible with wheelchair. Welcomes you with skeleton world. First time I saw a blue whale bone. After that there is the birds world. If you go upstairs there are mammals gallery and assorted gallery.
Established in 1964, the Natural History Museum is located near the aquarium. It boasts an extensive collection of animal, bird, and botanical specimens, along with geological rock samples. Notable exhibits include the elephant skeleton and whale jaw. Stuffed birds and animals are displayed in their original habitats. At the entrance, you’ll find two tree fossils. The museum also features various amphibians, lizards, and crabs. Admission for adults is 30 rupees.
This place is good for weekends. Kids and family friendly. If your coming with family pls visit this place during working days in order to avoid crowd.
I visited this place for my 2 year old as it would help him understand some species up close and would help him when he goes to the zoo. Also it is inside a building so he will be able to walk a lot without much crowd. We went on a Saturday and rainy day. There was very little crowd almost 20 people or so. He loved the exhibits especially the wild animals but was afraid of the skeletons. He ran a lot from one exhibit to another and would address most birds as crow. He knew lion tiger and giraffe from his soft toys. Everything except snake and giraffe are stuffed live animals. They have maintained it well. Really good and would suggest others to see it
I was absolutely thrilled to visit the Natural History Museum in Trivandrum! As a history enthusiast, I was blown away by the vast collection of artifacts and exhibits that showcase the rich cultural and natural heritage of Kerala.

From the moment I stepped inside, I was struck by the stunning architecture of the building itself, which is a beautiful blend of traditional and modern styles. The museum's layout is thoughtfully designed, making it easy to navigate and explore the various galleries.

The exhibits are incredibly well-curated, with detailed labels and descriptions that provide a wealth of information about each artifact. I was particularly fascinated by the ancient stone sculptures, bronze idols, and traditional Kerala murals on display. The museum's collection of tribal artifacts and traditional crafts was also impressive, offering a glimpse into the lives of Kerala's indigenous communities.

What I appreciated most about this museum was the way it weaves together the natural and cultural history of the region. The exhibits on Kerala's flora and fauna, including the stunning taxidermy displays, were just as engaging as the historical and anthropological exhibits. It was amazing to see how the museum highlights the interconnectedness of human and natural history.

The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the museum's facilities were clean and well-maintained. Overall, I would highly recommend the Natural History Museum in Trivandrum to anyone interested in history, culture, or the natural world.

I would recommend you to visit this place. You don't have to pay anything to enter. You can see many flowers outside of the museum. You will see biodiversity inside the museum from different regions of India.
The campus is really awesome and calm and is well taken care of. No tickets has to be taken, the entry is free. As in for the exhibits, the collection is just ok. May be good for LP school children for a study tour. The place isn't much crowded anytime so you can have a pleasant visit taking your own time. There's a side entrance to Karanchi lake also near the entrance.
It's one the most underrated places of Mysore. It has the most peaceful vibe and a great collection of various spheres of knowledge. It's a must visit
An amazing place for kids and their education. A must visit destination for all.
Very well maintained place. It's all clean and nice.
REGIONAL MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY
A good initiative taken by Odisha govt for people to get more knowledge and information about our forest ecosystem and fossils.
Skeletal frames of various land and sea creatures are kept here for display. Must visit places for kids and family. It will be an educational and fun tour for kids. Special mention to the magnanimous skeleton of whales. Most of the bio-diversity of the Indian region can be found here.
Sometimes when a large crowd gathers then video-audio shows are also played inside the auditorium.

Entry Fees: free.

Overall good experience 😄
History! The moment you step in, you will be surrounded by the artefacts, sculptures, paintings, coins, stuffed animals, mummy (yes, mummy), jewellery, historical documents etc. If you love exploring the history then you will love spending 6-8 hours here.

The collection is huge and they are upgrading and adding a few more buildings to the current museum.
The entry to this place is free and they have ample parking space for two and dour wheelers. Can spend half day easily exploring this palce. Best place for kids to teach information in a fun way. They have maintained the place very well. They also have restrooms in this place.
A must visit for everyone, local and otherwise, to this beautiful gallery containing historical treasures. I have been told that the museum has been renovated recently and is excellently maintained by the staff. The opulence of the place still remains intact and the exhibit is excellent. A lot of information and displays to be seen and learn. The museum can be a terrific expedition for children and adults who enjoy historical scenes.
Best museum in Bhubaneswar. It educates people on environment awareness, sustainable living, flora and fauna in Orissa, and a bit about its history. Students and kids will find it very useful. No entrance ticket to visit this museum.
A must visit museum i would say.The collection of things are huge and unique. They have varieties of statues, idols, artpieces, clothes,Old Photographs,Old jwelleries and so on. The whole museum itself has a history of more than 100 years which depicts its importance. Also there is an entry fee of around 150 rupees which is worth it.
A worthwhile experience, definitely must visit if you’re in Mumbai.
Ranging from natural history to European art to archaeological India and much more , you can easily spend several hours here learning about this fascinating place
Loved the exhibits, the way the information is given, the light effect. A must visit if you like museums.
A nice museum with loads of beautiful pieces of local and national history. Unfortunately, it was very busy and tightly packed. The experience was quite noisy also, which detracted from it. The staff was lovely and keen to share knowledge but overall felt a bit like bumpercars. Reasonably priced tickets and a fun audio tour included.
The museum in Mysore is often overlooked, visited by few, Within its walls lies a diverse collection of animal species, making it a treasure trove for those keen on exploring the rich history of the animal kingdom. Especially beneficial for children, this museum provides an educational journey into the fascinating world of animals.

There is no entry fees.
It is indeed a marvel where history, art and culture all packed into one. Interestingly, this museum is fully autonomous. It is a PPP model that runs it.
Entry fee for Indian nationals is 150/- . Audio guide which comes with an player and a headphone costs Rs.50/- (You need to submit an original id in order to get this. The id card is given back upon returning the audio guide) The audio guide was good in terms of content and narration albeit a bit too limited considering the huge number of exhibits. (There are tens of thousands for sure) I often missed the numbers that marked the available guide narrations and could only listen to less than 20 in all. This could also be because we were not moving in any specific order. Also some portion of the museum was closed for maintenance (in Oct 2023).
One thing I noticed was that there is no restriction on photography which is cool. Talking about the museum itself, it offered a lot of variety – all neatly classified into the different halls. There were historic exhibits, paintings, fabric art, animal life, recreations of old and new settings etc. The domes are majestic, washrooms are neat, souvenirs are good (though slightly more expensive than what you might find right outside) and it is overall well managed and well maintained. You wouldn’t realize the time you spend there. I read that this building is listed as a Grade I Heritage Building and has received the award of excellence by UNESCO in 2022. It is also an UNESCO World Heritage site as part of the many Victorian heritage buildings in Mumbai.
A quaint museum in a beautiful, historic building. The diversity of India’s rich and varied culture is captured in a diverse collection at this museum. Ranging from natural history to European art to archaeological India and much more , you can easily spend several hours here learning about this fascinating place
Better than expected and entry is free, though needs a little upkeep. Very informative for kids.
While amble around the streets of Bhubaneswar I visited this place , indeed a very new experience and knowledgeable . I strongly recommend to visit this place once , you definitely going to acquire new things regarding our Wildlife , Landform , etc.
Very good place for eveyone, from all ages. It contains many ancient sculptures from our temples around the country and they are mesmerizing to see looking at their antiquity. The museum has many sections for paintings, weapons, different cultures, children section and many more.
It will surely take almost a day if one wants to see entire museum minutely noting all the details.

Also, if you show them a valid student ID, you get discount on ticket price.

I would highly recommend to visit this amazing place, so much of knowledge to gain. One will need minimum 2 hrs to visit all things here shortly and maximum 3 hrs to visit in details. Superbly structured and well maintained. Exhibition is awsome. Details of Bio-diversity including all parts of India & world are shown nicely. The animals, reptiles, birds, etc are exhibited beautifully. Kids and animal lovers will love this place. But needs more attention of Govt. for even more development as it is located in centre of the city. Needs more skulls as kept in kolkata musuem.
Entry is free. The museum contains world's largest egg. So many dead butterflies and snakes are there. Bones of fish ranging from small size to 30-foot large whales are there for display. It contains a lot of information about Odisha. It needs proper maintenance.
This place is superb.. they have real Mummy as well imported from Egypt. When i visited this museum, the Navy archestra was going on, We really enjoyed that show. They prepared a well classified room for all the types of criteria. You will really enjoy your time here. It's worth knowing our history in a very good manner..
You won't regret it after visiting here.
Good place to spend some time and gain a bit about different historical things. Children will like it. It will take hardly half an hour to complete. Free of cost
Absolutely! Visiting the regional state museum was an enriching experience. The exhibits were well-curated and offered a comprehensive glimpse into the history and culture of the area. The museum's layout was easy to navigate, and the displays were accompanied by informative descriptions. From ancient artifacts to modern art, there was something for everyone's interests. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, ready to answer any questions. Overall, the regional state museum provided a captivating and educational journey that left me with a deeper appreciation for the local heritage.
One of the best museums in Bhubaneswar which depicts the natural history of the area. I have been visiting this museum since 2006 and many things have changed since then. Mention may be made of new displays and additions. Some displays are under renovation so don't mind the workers. Must visit for kids and students.
I wanted to take a moment to share my thoughts and feedback about my recent visit to [Museum Name]. My experience at your museum was both educational and inspiring, and I wanted to express my appreciation.First and foremost, the exhibits at RMNH were thoughtfully curated and provided a comprehensive insight into the subject matter. The attention to detail and the quality of the displays showcased the dedication and expertise of the curatorial team. I found myself engaged and captivated by the wealth of information presented. The interactive elements within the exhibits added an extra layer of engagement and made the learning experience more immersive. The combination of artifacts, multimedia presentations, and interactive displays effectively conveyed the historical and cultural significance of the topics covered. Moreover, the museum's layout and design were conducive to exploration and discovery. The flow of the exhibits and the way information was organized allowed visitors to navigate through the museum effortlessly. Additionally, the museum's ambiance and lighting created a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The museum staff were incredibly knowledgeable and approachable. Their willingness to answer questions and provide additional context enriched my understanding of the exhibits. Their passion for the subject matter was evident and added to the overall positive experience.
I generally like visiting museums, especially Government museums, and this one was no exception.
At ₹ 150 per head (including mobile photography) it's really worth it.
There are three floors of exhibits, and one of the exhibits is an Egyptian Mummy. Though the specifics about the mummy are not mentioned, there are general descriptions about Egyptian burial practices and other important facts about life in that period.
The other floors too have thoughtful arrangements of the exhibits, with individual or collective commentary attached.
Spent a very pleasant two hours there.
Generally worth a visit when in the neighbourhood, if only for the large collection of items and the very imaginative display.
One of the must visit places in Mysore. Such an informative yet entertaining places out there. I never thought kids could enjoy so much in a museum. They also learnt a lot. Free entry, no one to restrict visitors and peaceful and clean environment makes it worth visiting every single time. Taxidermy of animals and pictorial representation of evolution are the highlights. Must must must visit if you are planning a trip to Mysore. It's quite close to the palace so u don't have to wander much.
Nice and calm place. My kids loved this place. There were many lions, tigers, elephants and fishes that are stuffed. They have a nice garden. Touch, feel and learn garden is not working now. Place showing human evolution was also wonderfully maintained. There is ample car parking space and no entry fee or no car parking fee. There is direct entry to karanji lake from this place.
