A very holy and religious place with such an energy and everyone is believing a lot! This is one of the most fascinating islamic buildings I have ever seen and I can feel it a lot there!

It is having a lot of security there and everyone is hyped to go in and be there! I loved being there and can highly recommend you going there as well when being in Mashhad or in Iran in general!

The Shrine is amazing but I wasn't taking a picture of it! Also the whole complex is just impressive!

## A Haven of Spiritual Tranquility: A Review of the Imam Reza Holy Shrine

Stepping into the Imam Reza Holy Shrine is like entering a portal to another realm, a place where the cares of the world melt away and the soul finds solace. The air hums with a palpable sense of peace, and the intricate beauty of the architecture inspires awe and wonder.

From the moment you set foot in the vast courtyard, a sense of serenity washes over you. The golden dome, glinting in the sun, seems to beckon you closer, promising a glimpse of something divine. The delicate mosaics, elaborate carvings, and shimmering calligraphy all whisper stories of faith and devotion.

As you approach the shrine itself, an atmosphere of profound reverence envelops you. Thousands of pilgrims, united in their faith, offer their prayers and supplications. The air vibrates with the melodic chanting of verses, transporting you to a realm beyond the ordinary.

But the true magic of the Imam Reza Holy Shrine lies not just in its physical splendor, but in the spiritual energy that permeates every corner. It is a place where you can truly connect with your inner self, find inner peace, and release all the burdens that weigh you down.

Your visit to the shrine is not simply a religious experience; it is a journey of self-discovery. As you walk amongst the pilgrims, you encounter a kaleidoscope of humanity, each with their own story and struggles. Yet, in this shared space of devotion, all differences fade away, replaced by a sense of unity and compassion.

There are moments of quiet contemplation, where you can sit in the serene gardens and reflect on your life. Other times, you might find yourself swept up in the vibrant energy of the crowds, chanting prayers and sharing in the collective joy of faith.

No matter what your experience, one thing is certain: the Imam Reza Holy Shrine leaves an indelible mark on your soul. It is a place where you can find solace, strength, and inspiration, a place that reminds you that you are not alone in this world.

And so, it is no wonder that you yearn to return to this sacred space again and again. For the Imam Reza Holy Shrine is not just a place of worship; it is a sanctuary for the soul, a haven of peace in a world that can often feel chaotic and overwhelming. It is a testament to the enduring power of faith and the transformative power of love.

Amazing! This has really grabbed me by surprise. This is something new for sure. Can not compare it to some grand mosque or so.. Best to visit at Golden hour/sunrise/twilight.

No bags allowed, but there is deposit besides, for free. Entry is for free. Foreigners are only allowed with a guide (free). You might have to wait a few minutes until an available guide arrives. Opening hours for foreigners is 8:30am to 9:30pm

We have 12 Imam in our religion and only one of them has been buried in Mashhad which is located in the northern part of Iran. Ali ibn Moosa Al Reza who is known as Imam Reza is our eighth Imam and his Holi shrine has an amazing some made of gold. Each year there are lots of pilgrimages who travel to Mashhad to visit Imam Reza Holi's shrine because he performed many miracles for people who trust him. If you like to see gorgeous Islamic architecture this place will show you the power of Islamic art. When you go inside everywhere has an unbelievable mirror work as a decoration and a huge chandelier is hanging from the ceiling.

The shrine is nice and good atmosphere.

But it has unfortunately become just a propaganda platform for the IR regime. Speakers full blasting and pictures everywhere, they shove the stuff down your throat untill you wanna throw up.

LET RELIGIOUS PLACES BE; JUST RELIGIOUS, stop pouring your politics into these places.

Worth seeing but single use plastic is a big problem 😢
Beware of the enchanting effect of the place! You could spend some time mesmerized by the beauty of it, lifting your spiritual senses high up. The mosque and the shrine were decorated in accordance with what the name stands for "The King of Lights". It is kind of a smaller area similar to the one in Qom (Fatemeh Masumeh's mosque+shrine). The best thing is they assign the tourists with personnel that informs you of the place and the people named after it, which is a service we'd very be pleased to have in Qom as well. :) Be mindful that if you're a female tourist, the personnel in the security makes you wear "Chador" (full cover hijab), but it has a great feeling to it.

Another good spot in Shiraz to visit. Located directly at the main road. It's walkable if you are staying nearby District 8.

What's interesting is that you will find yourself looking at the ceiling most of the time, because it is so beautiful. Sit down at one corner and just start the wall ceiling around you.

I recommend visit during the evening time. Then, head out to grab some snacks nearby the streets. It's also walkable.
This place always brings me a sense of tranquility and peace.
It has not been repaired since the flood occurred last year, and there is a possibility of a flood in August. And it is very dangerous because of the river to become Imamzadeh courtyard.

From the courtyards, external hallways named after scholars lead to the inner areas of the mosque. They are referred to as Bast (Sanctuary), since they were meant to be a safeguard for the shrine areas

Bast Shaykh Toosi – leads to the Central Library
Bast Shaykh Tabarsi
Bast Shaykh Hur Ameli
Bast Shaykh Baha'i
The Bast hallways lead towards a total of 21 internal halls (Riwaq) which surround the burial chamber of Ali al-Ridha.Adjacent to the burial chamber is also a mosque dating back to the 10th century known as, Bala-e-Sar Mosque.

The sanctuary of Imam Reza (peace be upon him) in Mashhad Al-Maqdisa is one of the most famous religious buildings built in Iran. The building, which has the richest characteristics and elements of Iranian-Islamic architecture, annually receives millions of visitors and tourists, and has been renovated and renovated several times so far.

Mashhad, which was initially a small village built in Tus and in the village of Sanabad. This place became important after the burial of Harun al-Rashid in it, as it was known as the “Harounian Spot.” After the burial of Aaron and by order of Al-Ma'mun, a mausoleum was built around the tomb in the Khorasani architectural style.

Before Imam Reza (peace be upon him) traveled to Merv, he informed his followers that this place would be his burial place. After the imam’s martyrdom in Tus, his pure body was buried in that spot, and its name was changed to “Mashhad al-Ridha.” The tomb of Harun al-Rashid until the era of the emergence of the "Sarabdaran" government could be seen under the imam's grave, but the Sarbadars erased Harun's tomb.

Who built the first dome on the sanctuary?
After the Imam's martyrdom, he was buried in the upper part of Aaron's tomb. This spot was repaired several times during the era of the “Samanids, Daylamites, and Ghaznavids” and decorations were added to it, but the first dome built over the shrine of Imam Reza (peace be upon him) was by order of Sultan Sanjar the Seljuk over the holy shrine. The type of this dome was made of qashi and muqarnas decorated with mirrors, and it remains until now. Sultan Muhammad Khwarizmshah also decorated this dome with the best types of qashi at that time and also issued an order to add two mihrabs to the sanctuary. The dome lighthouse was built in the Ghaznavid era by order of Ibn al-Mu'tazz, the ruler of Shiraz
The holy shrine is in the city of Mashhad, Iran. Peace, serenity, fulfillment and love that your soul receives, can't be described in words. As soon as you see the holy shrine, you feel lost in its awe. Its an affectionating place. If you need spirituality and dovinity, please do visit this Incredible place.
Separate entries for men and women are made. Followers come from all over the world.
Nice place only at sunset time. In morning or noon time I don't recommend.
For foreigners you need ask the guard to send local guide of themselves.

Amazing and wonderful Shrine, you can imagine the beauty of the Zakhrafah (زخرفة) and the artistic touch in the architecture, here you feel peace and tranquility. A safe place, far from the hustle and bustle of life, peace of mind. And most importantly, you can find “yourself” in such a spiritual place, and strengthen your faith in God and trust in him. My advise to those who haven’t yet visited this place to visit it as soon as possible.🙏🏼

Wonderful place, such peaceful and serene atmosphere... There's free tourist information service where you can get information about everything. Actually, we were said that it was compulsory for foreign tourists to be accompanied by an attendant who provides information for free, and it was really helpful. The traditional burial place for prophet Daniel is similar to no other tomb in Iran. The architecture is exceptional. The inner part has beautiful mirror-working to show off the fantastic Persian art. They will offer a chador (Hijab), so if you go as a tourist, you can also enter the inner part of the tomb.
The site was given this name due to the nature of the discovery of the site by Ayatullah Dastghā'ib (the great grandfather of the contemporary Ayatullah Dastghā'ib). He used to see light from a distance and decided to investigate the source. He found that the light was being emitted by a grave within a graveyard. The grave that emitted the light was excavated, and a body wearing an armor was discovered. The body was wearing a ring saying al-‘Izzatu Lillāh, Ahmad bin Mūsā, meaning "The Pride belongs to God, Ahmad son of Musa". Thus it became known that this was the burial site of the sons of Mūsā al-Kādhim.

You have to visit the Shah Cheragh shrine in the evening. With the artificial light you will imagine yourself in a story of 1001 nights. There will also be lots of Iranian people that come here to tribute honor to the Shah.
The access is free and you will be asked if which language you speak, so that they organise a guide (also free) for you to explain and discuss. It has been a wonderful experience visiting the shrine and talking to people.
This is a very nice green spot in the middle of the brown mountains.

The tomb of the profet Daniel is a short walk away from the Apadana and the museum of Shush.

Imamzadeh Saleh is the name of the cemetery in the Tajrish region of Tehran. This is a famous shrine of Tehran, with an area of three thousand meters in the south-east side of Tajrish Square. The original monument is a quadrangle with a magnificent square with its inner space of 422 thousand and 50 square meters with has tall walls. Due to the arches of the vaults, in terms of the style and architecture of the monuments The Ilkhanite era was most likely to be built in the seventh and eighth centuries AH.

What is the point of visiting this place. Did Daniel even exist? He is supposed to be a Jewish Prophet but the place is run completely Islamic and women have to wear a "chador" which is an overall veil just to go into the courtyard.
I highly recomend coming there to visit Daniel the prophet's shrine, next to it there is ald ancient shush, also worth to visit despite no much was left. It is worth just to stand there and let history speak to You! People are very friendly and can help you to move araoud just to spend time with visitors. I was amazed by hospitality of Iranians
A holy place for many religion in shusha and people so respect to him

Daniel is one of our prophets who his tomb is located in Susa in Khuzestan province and near Shaur River.
He lived in Babylon at the time of Nebokad Nasr the king of Babylon. He was the minister in time of Syrus The Great.
Daniel's tomb is located in Susa with a very nice and specific architecture.
good...
If there is not too many people, maybe you can sit back and relax inside the holy shrine. Sometimes they serve you with breakfast early morning. During certain celebrations there is crowded and you can hardly get in. It is the most famous holy shrine in Tehran. You can also visit the small bazaar beside this place.

Well they say that Biblical Daniel who was the fourth greatest prophet is buried there. But it's a simple Imamzadeh situated in Shush. And like many of the Imamzadehs in Iran, this Imamzadeh can also be fake. So you don't have to believe that Daniel had really been buried here. The only interesting thing can be its unique architecture. But domes like this are quite common in Khuzestan region. The place is surrounded with Arab people who sell various things.
Just sit inside the building and watch the pilgrims praying. Feel Shia Islam in action.

Although I'm not a religious guy I visited this mosque to admire its beautiful skyline, architecture, various ornament details and last, but not least, to socialize with some girls. (I promised them to publish their photo, so here it is).
The most beutiful shrine in Iran IMHO (I haven't seen them all, of course). I arrived here before 11 pm, such night sightseeing was more attractive than during a day. All lights were on, it was after the rain and on the ground lights were reflecting / shining / glowing in puddles. The view was breathtaking. Just take a look at my photos.
