Bella iglesia con una estructura medieval magnífica, en pleno cruce donde pasa el tranvía, es un ejemplo de la magnificencia de Turín
Bellissima Chiesa, monumentale e fuori dai classici giri turistici essendo un pochino più distante dal centro, visitate interno ed esterno.
This was our first destination after arriving in the town. After starting up the hill, we started wondering about admission fee and hoping we didn’t have to go back down and up again to stop at the atm. Their webpage doesn’t answer that … or I couldn’t find it. But it is offering only with no set admission fee. What a beautiful and peaceful place. If you go in the little store first then you can take the little staircase up to see the rooms. The chapel is also very beautiful.

Tucked away in the heart of Bologna and overshadowed by San Petronio and Santo Stefano is this beautiful Baroque church with a Romanesque facade that contains the mortal remains of Saint Dominic, founder of the Dominican order.
Outside, there is a large piazza containing a statue of Saint Dominic and two tombs with room to walk, and sit to admire the front of the basilica.
The chapel where the arc containing his remains is highlighted with three statues carved by Michaelangelo. All around the church are wonderful pieces by Lippi, Reni, Todeschi, Torelli and a host of others. If you are an art lover, you can spend hours here admiring the works without the large crowds at San Petronio or Santo Stefano.

An underrated gem hidden in the city of Rome. I nearly cried when I was inside. I’d post pics but for some reason my phone isn’t letting me but it is worth it.
Quiet and serene church, maintained by Indian Carmalite Fathers....it hosts the holy relic of St. Teresa of Avila! (One of her feet)

A beautiful church. I suggest seeing some of these with a tour guide unless yu are the type to read up on the history of these places in advance so you know what to look for and what you're looking at. Or just enjoy the beauty, a religious moment, or marvel at how much more important society was, to spend such tremendous wealth to glorify God, not a big thing in today's world. We build fabulous sports facilities not churches.
Absolutely gorgeous romanic church in Bologna, way less crowded and frequented than San Petronio downtown. We came for the Michelangelo statue, but that was just alright (no David, alas). We stayed for the lovely cloister that sits on the side of the church (pictures attached). It's not very clear how to get there so make sure you check directions or ask attendants.
unique place of worship with a church that should be a unesco designated building. the atmosphere is calm, reassuring and imbibed a sense of serenity and security.

Impressive Basilica built on the IV century on an ancient domus romana. Not only it has a beautiful inside chapel but outside there is Emperor Claudio old house and more historic features. Just amazing!!!
Not bad pricing, you have to cover up to go in as its religious, so they give you a disposable cover to wear.
Museum is interesting if you like that sort of thing. I was really kean on just seeing and learning about the skeletons that are there. It's pretty fascinating. Definitely worth a visit.

Nice wee church, you can freely walk around peacefully and enjoy it.

This church was a most pleasant surprise. I knew St. Dominic died in Bologna, but I didnt know his remains are here, and available for veneration! To pray the Rosary here was like praying the Rosary with St. Dominic, who loved Our Lady's Rosary.

Chiesa in stile gotico incredibile.. eretta a metá del XIII secolo conserva quello spirito medievale che ti riporta indietro nel tempo, complice anche la pavimentazione esterna alla chiesa ricoperta di muschio. Una volta entrati sembra di ritrovarsi in un antico monastero benedittino con dipinti magnifici e antichi stemmi sulle colonne. Assolutamente da visitare
Stumbled upon this place by accident. The front courtyard has a good aerial view of the valley below, church proper is a bit dark to see the fresco and altar pieces clearly. Small cloisters charming but the surprise lies in the museum in the basement: a surprisingly large collection of artifacts brought back from the missionaries from places like China and Egypt. Fell in love with the posters of Hell from 18-19 c Chinese prints, and the silky garments made for catholic liturgical use by local Chinese believers. They even have a mummy from Egypt to boot! At the entry of the larger cloister a note posted the revelation experienced by Camus at the very spot - what a nice surprise.
No pictures of the catacombs of Cappuccini, but I got a bit of the museum. Headsets are nice. You can go at your own pace and listen/walk around to each area. Definitely worth the visit if you want to go to some catacombs while visiting Rome.
You’re not suppose to take photos. I found out my 11yo snuck photos so here you go. This place is exactly as described. A lot of interesting artifacts before you see the crypt.

The church and museum of Cappuchin monks is interesting enough, but the catacombs filled with "art" created by the many bones of previously departed monks is macabre and brilliant in equal measure.

Cardinal FX Nguyen Van Thuận’s remains lie here. Sometimes the church is not open during posted hours, particularly at 10 am. The evening at 4 is more reliable.

The monk brought many interesting art from Chinese and Egypt when they were preaching in those countries. It’s fun to see the early international cultural communication of the west world starts with religion activities.

Sehr interessante Basilika, sehenswert. Leider unverschämtes Personal am Eintritt zum römischen Haus unterhalb. Verwiesen uns am Mittwoch auf Öffnung am Donnerstag. Um 15 Uhr ohne weitere Erklärung: heute geschlossen. Einfach so. Außerdem sind fast alle Sehenswürdigkeiten um 17.30 geschlossen. Müllberge rundum, Bierflaschen und Büchsen massenhaft auf Plätzen und Straßenrändern. Viele Objekt geschlossen, viele Baustellen . U-Bahnhöfe mit defekten Automaten und Rolltreppen. Einfach Katastrophe

Worth a walk up the hill. Came on a Monday, so the museum was closed, but the church and convent are worth the visit. Peaceful.
If you ask nicely you can be led to a side altar to venerate the relic of St Teresa of Avila.

Basilica of San Domenico is a little off the beaten path, but not so far as to discourage you from visiting. Take the time to discover the church, the piazza that it sits on and the neighborhood around it. The church has impressive art and an altar which is extremely elaborate.
Splendida Chiesa nel cuore vivace e popolare di Torino: laddove, dal XIV secolo in poi, si manifestano le trasformazioni sociali, demografiche, culturali della città, là i Domenicani sono presenti per testimoniare il patrimonio teologico che la Chiesa cattolica romana offre agli uomini e le donne di tante provenienze geografiche e religiose, oggi e nei tempi passati. All'interno, splendidi gli affreschi della cappella delle Grazie. Sulla facciata esterna, e in sacrestia, due lapidi ricordano il sacrificio di Padre Girotti.
Die Basilika Santi Giovanni e Paolo ist eine romanische Kirche in einem römischen Wohnhaus aus dem 4. Jh.. Sie wurde im 12. Jh. erweitert und das Innere im 18. Jh. renoviert. Sie ist die Klosterkirche des Passionistenordens. Die Kirche wirkte im Dunklen nicht so einladend auf uns, dennoch war sie interessant.
Wenn sie beleuchtet ist, ist sie bestimmt sehr sehenswert. Das können wir aber nur schätzen.

Highly underrated church, well worth the visit

Un tres bel endroit le cloitre est de toute beauté avec de tres belle sculture sur le haut des colonnes serties de mosaïques. Un exposition temporaire sur l'archéologie des fonds marins est tres instructive
Pretty (and not too gaudy) Catholic church
Una bellissima chiesa, ho avuto di parlare con un francescano sono rimasto colpito positivamente dal suo modo di fare, trasmettendo pace ed amore. Mi hanno gentilmente detto che potevo fare le foto. Allora interno ce anche un parcheggio ma nei pressi si trova anche il capolinea di autobus. È facilmente raggiungibile. Il posto è molto bello e porta una grande pace interiore. Fuori nella piazza si trovano diverse attività commerciali tra cui bar e ristorante. Chiesa da visitare.

Unique place place to see one of the ancient churchs of Rome not full of Tourists, but close enough to the Colosseum.

If you are visiting Fiesole, please take half an hour to climb the steep road up to the convent. You will be rewarded with 1) splendid views over Florence and 2) a free entrance to a small but interesting convent museum (accessible via the church).

Eintritt frei und sehr schön von innen. Besondere Atmosphäre durch die Baumaterialien und Ausleuchtung. Zuweg ist etwas verbaut und schwer zu finden.
Wonderful monument of medieval culture and architecture. It was the burial place of local aristocracy. Alas, church was badly damaged in 1944 when it was bombed by Allies. Fortunately some frescoes of XIV century survived and you can find them in the last Chapel on the right hand side. Admission is free but any donation is welcomed and highly appreciated. Visitors are allowed to take non commercial photo without flash light.
Santi Giovanni e Paolo liegt über dem Colloseum und dem Circus Maximus. Die Kirche war sehr schön geschmückt, vermutlich wurde hier heute schon eine Hochzeit abgehalten. Die Kirche lädt ja förmlich dazu ein.

It's a very artful place where you can find the famous Ark of Saint Dominic made by Nicola Pisano and some statuettes of Michelangelo: San Petronio (the patron saint of Bologna), a candlestic-holding angel and San Procolo (closely recalling the statue of David, made ten years later).
Really nice museum. Lots of good information to read as you move along the exhibit. Several interactive elements. The highlight is the crypt of art created with the bones of various members of the order. It is both a little creepy and strangely beautiful. I have never seen anything like it. The only downside is that the museum doesn't allow photos. Then they gouge you on the price of postcards. That aside, cool place to visit.
A very informative and interesting museum, even for a non-catholic person. The presentation was clear, engaging and easy to follow. The crypt was jarring, yet somehow completely captivating. You know that as uncomfortable as it might make you, there is something wholly unique and special about the space and experience. Well worth the time and money.

Never knew about this! Interesting if rather creepy use of human skulls and bones for artistic design by the capuchin monks.

Da visitare assolutamente, conserva il corpo di San Domenico nella famosa arca di San Domenico, in cui c'è anche una statua di Michelangelo, inoltre all'interno c'è la tomba di Re Enzo Hohenstaufen, figlio di Federico II, morto a Bologna e qui seppellito. Se venite a Bologna non potete non vederla! (PS due sabati al mese i padri domenicani organizzano visite guidate alla cella di San Domenico e alle stanze del tribunale della santa inquisizione, il frate che vi farà da guida è simpaticissimo e preparatissimo!)
