I like the grill chicken here, and Ruan’s service is good and with big smile.
Ruan was a great host. My partner and I were the only non Japanese people there and we were made so welcome! Highly recommend!

French toast is very disappointing, the cream melt and the bread is like soaking in milk.
An excellent experience by all measures. The food was delicious across the salads, mains and dessert ordered. The service was fabulous. The atmosphere was great. The whiskey was the reason we had visited and was outstanding - the selection is huge - it covers an entire wall which is a sight to behold - very wide but also ‘deep’ distillery wise. We asked for some new recommendations to taste and received interesting ones - interesting enough for us to want to purchase. We also asked for retailer recommendations and a printed list was provided. Essentially an must visit place for the whiskey lover or the whiskey inclined

Last night in Japan after a 2 week trip. Booked here in advance. From the moment we walked in, staff were well dressed and friendly. The venue was clean and had a fantastic atmosphere. Drinks were delicious and not too expensive. A great place indeed. I highly recommend the Honey Old Fashioned.
The food is delicious especially the Charcoal-grilled Black Satsuma Chicken and Seared bonito.
The vibe is great and the service is good. Ruan is very helpful and energetic.

This place is surprisingly amazing, it’s one of the few western restaurants you can find in the station (the rest are either Japanese or just bento stores) along with some beautifully cooked steak (I got the Hamburg) the rice also tasted nice. Inside the restaurant it feels like you’re riding on a steam train in the early 1900s. Super convenient

The whiskies lined up on the shelves are a sight to behold. There are many whiskies that I have never had before that I am interested in. There are always 1,300 kinds of whiskey in the store.
How do you get the whisky from the high place?
The interior is not too bright, but has a moody atmosphere, and the candles on the tables are very cute.
The food.
The food and whiskey pairing course was very rare, and all the dishes were very delicious.
What was very surprising was the variety of ways to drink the whiskey.
I thought it would be straight, on the rocks, or with soda, but the whiskey served in a variety of ways was very rich in flavor, and it was a time when I learned more about whiskey.
This course is recommended not only for whisky lovers, but also for those who are interested in whisky but would like to try a variety of whiskies.
I highly recommend this course to all whisky lovers and those who are interested in whisky but want to try different kinds of drinks! Menu

Original blend Nikka Whiskey with water
The pairing of "Oak Aging" was very good. The original blend of Nikka Whiskey was aged in a barrel and served in a bamboo glass.
I was really surprised at the mellowness of the whiskey, which was finished by using a method commonly used for shochu called "pre-wari," in which the liquor and water are mixed together in advance and allowed to sit. I didn't know it could be this mellow,
I was told that water and whiskey are united at the molecular level, and I would like you to experience the taste.
The staff, who are very knowledgeable about whiskey, taught me a lot about the dishes and whiskey, which was very informative.
It is also interesting to taste the couscous of the dishes and then drink it to get a different taste.
I was able to learn more about whisky by tasting it with the dishes.

10,000 yen
The course consists of 6 dishes and 6 paired whiskeys.
This price is very satisfying for the number of dishes and the volume. Recommended for anniversaries.

Excellent staff and some knew English. The selection of whiskey is incredible. Reasonable prices. Although food is very small plates. The appetizers were the same size, if not larger.

Impressive selection of Japanese and international whisky. We wanted to try Japanese whisky before we bought some and this restaurant had walls filled and a large and detailed menu of options. The service and drinks were so well done that we spontaneously stayed for dinner.

Go in from the Shin Marounochi building entrance, take the elevator in the middle (not the 1st one on the right) to theA DJ was playing when I was there on a Thursday night. Great ambience, nice view.
Should sit facing the Tokyo St on the north side (right near the elevator side). The Margarita Classic ordered from Mole Taqueria Bar was great.

Whisky selection was amazing! Great atmosphere especially for a date. Service was good but nothing special. Messed up my dad’s drink order. Prices were ok but for the portion size of whisky on the rocks were a little small. Overall I’d recommend at least once.
EXCELLENT COURSES. A vast variety of whiskey and, of course, other delicious spirits, wine, and beers. Atmosphere was very calm, romantic, and relaxing. It is such a pleasure to be in this type of ambiance. The music selection was completely on point. A mix of everything in soft tones. If you are in Tokyo, it's a MUST VISIT🫶🏾

So I ordered it since its the highlight of the menue.
It’s served with thick break which made the french toast mushy inside like an egg.
Its good but not tk my liking considering I have to pah 2k yen for it.

Conclusion: Impeccable flavors, service, ambiance. Those who are fans of the Iron Chef will not be disappointed. Exceeds some US-based 2/3-star Michelin Restaurants without exaggeration.

We arrived a couple minutes after our lunch reservation time but was graciously received and whisked away efficiently, but not rushed, to our table.
Ambiance was one of elegance, but not stiff.
We elected for Hiroyuki Sakai's signature course, which is represented on the reservation website as "坂井宏行スペシャルメニュー".
I will not go into detail of each dish, but they represented an escalation of seafoods and poultry and beef, where vegetables were just as much the star. Dessert, depending on your course, involves some degree of welcomed choice or interactivity.
It goes without saying that the ingredients were fresh and high quality. But happily, the execution in presentation, combination of favors, and attention to detail exceeded any standards demanded by the ingredients.
Television fans like us will hopefully find the dishes nostalgic, surprising yet familiar, as we did.
Wine pairings as recommended by the sommelier were complementary to the meal and does not stray into decadence.
Offerings represented a global variety. Starting with the seasonal Aperitif recommended.
Final advise: If you are booking a reservation, be careful to book the correct branch. Each branch offer its own distinct reservation slots.

Amazing selection of whiskey in a very upscale environment. The staff are super knowledgeable and they have whiskey from all over the world. It was a really fun spot for a group and I definitely recommend trying a number of different whiskeys to get the full experience.

Luckily to have breakfast without waiting. But only French Toast n Chowder soup on weekdays breakfast time. Reli impressive！
First of all, LOVED the musical selections playing in the cafe. The cafe has a very relaxed vibe and was a nice analogue to places I frequent back in the USA. The staff was friendly and my salad with tuna was very good. Really like this place.

お客さんがたくさんいらっしゃるなかベビーカーで場所を取り、途中騒いでお騒がせしてしまったのですが、とても優しいお声掛けやご配慮を頂きました。ご機嫌斜めの息子を揺すりながら食べていたところ、ゆっくり食べてと代わりにベビーカーを揺すったりしてあやしてくださいました。
こんなにも温かく優しいおもてなしは初めてで、嬉しさと感謝と感動で食べながら涙が出てきました。

It was a true pleasure to dine at the restaurant of one of my culinary heroes, Chef Sakai Hiroyuki.
The service was gracious and attentive.
The vision of each dish and wine pairing was touched upon in a concise way without being overbearing.

Good service but table seating could be better. If you’re just having coffee those low coffee tables are okay but if you’re eating lunch it’s a bend and stretch exercise.

It’s an ok restaurant, both the decor and menu remind me of what used to be considered fancy in the 90s. The red wines by the glass were very good. The service was nice and friendly. Food wise it’s just ok, not very inventive or modern, the beef dish was was the best. Price wise there are much better alternatives for half the money nearby. We still had a good time trying this place.

The restaurant is beautiful, but unfortunately they do not have a variety of food. There is no pork or alcohol. We came to try the French toast, but unfortunately it contained pork fat!!!! Therefore, we ordered the beautiful salad, which contains more than 22 different and useful vegetables. We ordered salmon and a grilled vegetable sandwich. We thank the waiter, Dylan, for his cooperation with us.🤍

High end experience in Tokyo Midtown. Truffle dishes are fantastic. Where food is art. Had the truffle set meals and every bite is an experience .
My favorite French toast place! Went there 4 times and I still crave it everytime. Also it was always nice to be served by a person with great positive energy like Dylan!

Truffle specialized restaurant in Roppongi. Went for dinner and had a course menu with wine pairing. The course itself was good, and we could select dishes for every piece of the course. However, naturally that beat the purpose of the wine pairing… Which I felt that became very unnecessary, and poorly done. That being said, the food was very good. The starter of a modern take on burrata cheese was very good, and the tagliatelle pasta was also beautifully made. I will admit that I did not think that the lamb on the main dish was que that good. It was a bit dry. The yuzu cheesecake for dessert was quite good as well. Overall, I thought that there were creativity in the cuisine - with proper flavor. The restaurant itself has a clean atmosphere, with a lovely balcony with terrace seats. The staff is kind and showed flexibility to adjust to some requests. The price tag felt normal for the location but I felt that the wine pairing was not worth it.

Really good meal! Very friendly service and they were super accommodating to try and translate the menu with us. Would recommend for a date night out.
It's a lovely relaxing place for lunch. Lots of space. The staff are very friendly. Menu is on a tablet, which is easy to use and in English to. Would recommend if you need to put your feet up after walking around all the shops .

Good spot for a quick bite in the station. Menu is a little limited, but the food was tasty and the staff were very nice and attentive.
I showed my allergy card as kiwi will literally kill me if I'm near it. I saw a graphic that gave me the "hmmm, maybe?" And the team was absolutely fabulous in checking with the kitchen, making sure no one near me had the desert (sorry to anyone dining near us!), And over all were just fabulous. We were happy to move on if the accomodation couldn't be made as it was just before the dinner rush.
Although we didn't see Sakai-san we had an amazing time here.
Our waiter who spoke great English (for those non-japanese speakers) also told us that he generally takes Sundays off.

Delicious French food very friendly staff
The food was very good, and for that I give 2 stars. But of course the service matters as much as the food, and respect for an occasion, but the service was bizarrely both great and terrible.
I (white American) was with my friend, both of us women, and it was my friend's birthday celebration (the restaurant knew). At the beginning of the meal, our server made a special point of enthusiastically emphasizing the "endless bread". Whenever we finished a small bread roll, he would bring more, especially as there were often several minutes' waits between courses. My friend, who is Asian-American (not Japanese ethnicity), and I, had not yet eaten that day, so we ate more bread than usual, but not a monstrous amount, and we both ate the same amount. At some point, the waiter addressed my friend (not me) with a loud exclamation, telling her exactly how many bread rolls she had had, and that "it was a record!" We were completely aghast. I have no idea what he was thinking. At this point, I felt he was trying to pigeonhole her by her non-Japanese Asian ethnicity as something negative, so I just said again that she was only American (we spoke only in Japanese, which I am conversational in, so this negativity was not a lost in translation kind of thing).
While the rest of the service was great, and our waiter was obviously professional in every other respect, the explicit shaming over how much my friend was eating, and the casual anti-Asian sentiment left a bad taste for both my friend and me. Especially on her birthday celebration! We bore it all pleasantly, as we didn't want to completely ruin the night, but we ended up happy to leave. I honestly don't think that the server meant to bother us, and maybe it was because he was an older gentleman with older sensibilities, but perhaps he thought that his behavior was completely appropriate. I recommend that this restaurant educate this server on how not to offend guests, especially on a special day.
I do not recommend dining here at all if you are a non-Japanese Asian. I will certainly never return.

The food was beautifully prepared and delicious. If you enjoy truffle, this is the place to go. I ordered lunch set A (¥3500) with salad, duck and chestnut pasta, dessert and tea. My partner ordered set B (¥5500) with amuse bouche (amazing egg truffle), pate de compagne, added an extra truffle risotto (¥900), seaweed fugu with freshly shaved truffle (deep fried blowfish inside a seaweed cover which was very unique and tasty). The desserts took a bit of extra time to prepare (~30 min) but the presentation was amazing.

山口のポン酢屋さんが営む割烹ということでしたが食材は全国から良く目利きされた素材で大変美味しく頂きました。
また、さすが調味料の会社の目の付け所として九州から新潟まで5つの地域の醤油を卓上で試すことが出来、同じ素材で味わいの違いを楽しむことが出来ます。（刺し身の魚で使い分けたり同じ魚を違う味わいで楽しんだり）また、焼き物では洋風の衣を載せてみたりバルサミコで合わせたソースを添えてあったと新しい味わいも発見でした。ランチの時間帯の単品メニューも魅力的でしたので次の機会にはこちらも試してみたいと思いました。

We had a small wedding celebration dinner with our parents here and the dishes and service was great! The dishes look small and fancy like most fine dining but at the end of the course we were pleasantly full and very satisfied. Very welcoming and friendly staffs too!

¥3300 lunch course. Tea has that soapy taste to it. Everything was delicious otherwise. All men staff except women in the kitchen—the male staff in black wasn’t very friendly at all. Shouldn’t he be more approachable? His voice was a bit too loud and authoritative too when he asked which type of pasta and dessert I like—I’m a customer, he seemed to have forgotten. Also it takes a while for them to take orders and also to serve food.

Amazing place, kind owner and perfect lighting.
Ordered a dinner course for my husband’s birthday. Lovely atmosphere in the evening especially on the terrace, with great service. Each dish has truffle as it’s the restaurant’s speciality, but the elements of truffle are not too overpowering which I appreciated. Some dishes were amazing and some were just good. I think I’d like to come back for lunch next time! Thank you for a wonderful time :)

I really loved the old vintage train atmosphere. Really good idea to be able to eat in train transit at Tokyo Station. And their Hayashi rice was *chef's kiss* ! :)
Excellent meal and amazing service, makes this a must visit restaurant again and again. The outdoor terrace is so beautiful and all items on the Sakura tasting course were very delicious. Only wish portion sizes were a little larger since we wanted more of the delicious courses!

Delicious selection of bread that is free with any meal you choose, plus you get a drink included as well with the salad or pasta meals for 1000 yen. They also have a roast beef dish, a lasagna meal, and desserts. The coffee is pretty high quality as well if you order it outside of the set meals. The service is pretty good as well.

Little gem in busy omotesando. Not that expensive and the staff pays attention to details. Food great and tasty.
Owned by Iron chef Sakai, but the resident chef designs a fantastic menu executed with excellent technique that is both modern and classical. Gone are the 90's towers and minimalistic plating, but classical enough to not see liquid nitrogen involved in every other dish.

Great place with good food at a proper price. Truffles are used exquisitely in many dishes, and presentation is also paid attention to. Some of the dishes might take some time to come out from their kitchen, but the taste was amazing.

Aoyama location. 2 different menus available. This is a more traditional fine dining experience with a welcome drink and amuse and feels a little more formal than the sanno location. Prices are just a tad higher than the sanno location. Chef did come out to greet us when the actual dinner amuse was served.. Food, like the sanno location was uneven but generally good. Service was good but service staff is only minimally proficient in English. Considering that this is Japan, we found it very odd that they crumbed the table only once (before dessert)(also true for sanno location). Also, considering that this is a French restaurant, we found it kinda odd that they served olive oil for the bread instead of some chichi Japanese artisanal butter (also true for sanno location - same olive oil). Complementary petit four came after dessert however not to-go like the sanno location. We both got the menus as souvenirs. I asked if Sakai-San is still cooking. He is not. He now primarily does appearances at events. He is however going to have a collaboration event with Chinese iron chef Kenichi this coming summer 2019 (if I understood correctly).. So take note Iron Chef Japan fans..

The owner, who goes by the nickname Boss-san, gave me a hardy handshake and farewell after the show.
An intimate, welcoming, hide-away of a jazz club in relative walking distance to downtown Sakae.
I definitely recommend it if you have the chance to go.

We had the best time at this funky and intimate jazz club. The owner is warm and made us feel very welcome. The liquor selection is impressive, and if you don't see what you want on the drinks menu he will create something else for you. The food menu has appetizers, entrees, and desserts. The trio performing that night was excellent. We will definitely be back

Nice place with lots of couches. The lasagna lunch set was delicious, but it was an enormous amount of food, and so 1300 yen. It wasn't a bad value, but less food for a slightly lower price would have been totally sufficient. Check it out if you're very hungry!
