Visited this place for dinner after searching for Indian food. The reviews were good and so was the food. While nobody can match Indian golgappes, it became a memory as it was the first thing I ate in Sri Lanka.

When I ordered Prawns fried rice they delivered me chicken rice and curry, but charged for fried rice. Please if you don't have the items cancel order by your side. I have ordered more than 50 times. But if this kind of thing happens I can't recommend this shop anymore
Went on a Saturday night for a light dinner and got their chicken fried rice and chicken 65. The fried rice was mid but the chicken 65 was good. They had a nice atmosphere and the service was also good. They also had live music on that day and we really enjoyed
One of the best Indian restaurants in town. Food is delicious, made with authentic Indian spices, probably by Indiana chefs, made to orders and served hot. Portions of the two curries we ordered were not great. Ordering via QR code is convinientl, but would've been better if the payment could also be made online (when making the order).
The restaurant has two main parts - one themed a highway and other inside a boat. While the designing is proper and nice, both the themes don't go with the variety of Indian food on offer. And the seating isn't comfortable and lacks space. Background music (during our stay) was also didn't match the feel and mood of the taste and aroma of the food.
There's no onsite parking, so you will have to be lucky to find space along the main road. Staff were efficient but needs more training on customer service (letting the customers feel welcomed and cared). Cleanliness and orderliness are commendable.
Overall it was great food served in a not so great setting/atmosphere.

I recently visited "Indian Kitchen" and had a fantastic experience. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was cozy and warm, and the prices were reasonable. The service was also excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience.
Absolutely delicious food.. you hardly in general get good quality food in buffet but this place has outdone themselves.. we asked if they had chicken curry and they made us some and next day it was in the buffet too. I also said casual it would good to have more chocolate dessert.. Next day, boom its on the spread... Great to see a place to listen to their customers and the service was outstanding.. I highly recommend AYU.

Nice change to nearby big hotel, not as reasonably priced as other restaurants in the nearest town Benthotha (try seashell restaurant in Benthotha, about £5 there & back in tuk tuk). I wanted to try the giant shrimp which I'd seen on reviews, so ordered garlic prawns, but I got king prawns as large ones were apparantly out of season. They were as you'd expect garlic king prawns to be, have to say not entirely convinced they were fresh but it was quiet monsoon season & we were the only people in there the whole evening, so so I'd understand if they weren't. Came with a lovely fresh salad of not too sweet fruit like papaya etc that complimented the fish perfectly, along with a giant bowl of veggie rice which was cooked beautifully, certainly no chance of leaving hungry! Other people had the whole grilled fish which they said was very good.

Be aware 10% service charge is added automatically, which seems to be common practise, I think there may be a government tax added too - I didn't see a bill but it was about 25% more than I expected it to be, just over 7000 (about £20) for the prawns & a lion beer. The loos are pretty grim, so go before you go, lol.

Went for a lunch buffet. Had a wide variety of different types of cuisines. Some of those were delicious and some were average. However overall it was good. Had a nice time, the environment was so calm and quiet as it was less crowded. The staff was also friendly.
The food was alright, but it didn't quite live up to my expectations for authentic Indian flavors.
On the plus side, the service was prompt and courteous. The theme of this restaurant represents the kerala. It's still worth a visit if you're in the mood for some basic Indian cuisine.

Had a superb breakfast. Food is very tasty. Staff is very polite and greeted well. Wide variety of food. Definitely a good place to dine if you are looking for a delicious buffet.
Nice and clean place to have a authentic Indian food. One side of restaurant has interior design like a boat. Meal time this place is little bit crowded

Value for money , cheese koththu and mix fried rice are great , good portions of devel items also..pork ,fish...
Atmosphere is great.Service is very welcoming. Space is limited,but they have managed it nicely. Live music (guitar and flute) was there in the weekend which added more colours to the night. Prices are reasonable too. Another good thing is,the restaurant is open till midnight.

There was a certain set of variations, and Thai section foods were delicious, and the lady chef was friendly. Special note on the desert buffet!. They had a wide variation of dessert available and all ar3 delicious. All the staff members were friendly.

Very nice restaurant on the 4th floor at Mövenpick Hotel.
Wide variety of food and a good selection for the buffet. There are liver stations and carvery as well.
Desserts are also excellent.

Amazing evening with friends in one of the best family owned seafood spots in town! We managed to make a reservation and order our dishes evening before therefore the owners bought everything fresh this morning in local fish market especially for us! Be sure to order garlic or chilli prawns as they’re kings of the house and lobster is also to die for ;) A must see for everyone in Kalutara!

What a really lovely experience! Restaurant is a few doors away from the gates of the Anantara resort. There's not a huge amount of tables so my husband went to have a look during the afternoon and get a menu. He ended up chatting to the owner and having a beer! I recommend booking with them and if you're after seafood then try to let them know what you want so they can arrange everything fresh that day. We had garlic butter prawns (requested with just the tails for ease) and they were amazing! This came with rice, salad and daal. The restaurant is attached to the front of their house and the whole family get involved with serving. If you want a truly authentic Sri Lanka family meal, this is the place. Wonderful food served with love.

It's special for dolphin kotthu .. good customer care service quantity and quality of food for the money was acceptable.
The sea food soup was perfect, cuttlefish fish and shrimp was cooked perfectly and was a good starter. Sea food rice was very good was already half full with the sup but finished the rice too. prizes was good with the current situation in Sri Lanka. location was good too enjoyed the restaurant a lot. Pleasant surprise was that it was home cooking done by the owner's mom.

Went there for Lunch Buffet on 6th August, 2022. Nothing much to choose. No Seafood. Only two rice choices and only one noodles choice. Only Two variety of Chicken and one of pork item were there.
Food quality and taste was good. But it would be much better if their buffet menu was bigger like before 1-2 years.

Many Foods Good Price But Can't Expect Hygiene
Was there for the lunch buffet recently. Decent set of variations and delicious food were there. Special note on the desert buffet!! Didn’t see it at the beginning but if did, would have started from there. They had a wide variation of dessert available. Live kitchen had few good meat options as well.

Nothing but excellent 💥
This restaurant is a local gem. We were staying at Anantara and we thought to try it given the reviews are good. The restaurant is basically the front yard of a house so it is basic but this is exactly why you go there. Food is excellent and the owner is very welcoming. Prawns and Lobster are better than the 5 star hotels nearby at 1/5th of the price. Try the Red Lobster it you are around and support the local owner.
I think it's a best restaurent in kattankudy all ways tasty food freshly making and, kottu is amazing taste specially ghe kottu. cheese kottu. mix rice.we all ways visiting with family staff are friendly price cheap and best I highly recommend your restaurant keep up same quality all way's

We have orderd full chicken fried rice yesterday. Btw we coudn't find any pieces of chicken. Not worth for 100Rs. Really dissapointed

Very low quality foods. Don’t buy from this restaurant. Made a online order due to lockdown reason, can’t eat the food and too much unpleasant taste and smell. Dustbin is the suitable place for Gulf restaurant foods. Waste of money.
5 stars for chicken kottu compared with price. Chicken kottu actually do have enough chicken to satisfy our mind and tummy.. well worth the price and potion size too.. only take away
I would say fairly a good place to have food. They serve various type of food. Only had a mix cheese kottu and it was really good. Large kottu is more than enough for two people. Bit busy with the orders and it'll take some time. Dine in is available. Good parking space.

Ставлю 5 зірок виключно за екзотику і кухню. Дуже смачно. Хлопчина повар молодець. Реально смак домашньої місцевої кухні. Тут тихіше і менше людей ходить. Ремонт ніякий, але кухня перекриває все. Подарував Хлопцям український прапор. Відразу підняли над дахом. Рекомендую.

Authentic yazhpanam menu, we had rice with chicken , mutton, fish, prawns all tastes very great. We loved the taste,as a people from Tamil Nadu. Must try. Loved it

If you are a fan of sea food free of MSG, this is the best place to be with your family. Very friendly owner. Clean and small place. It will take some time to prepare your order as they dont have any precooked item to serve you. Everything you order will be freshly cooked that time and served. They only accept cash.

A good buffet option in Colombo. We went there for a dinner buffet on a weekday. The llace had a few guests. The staff were veey warm and courteous. They speak well too. The ambience is really good.
The buffet spread is good. Especially the Indian/SriLankan and the Dessert spreads were really good. The cost is a bit high but worth it. They also have a live icecream counter. Overall the experience was good.

Разнообразие небольшое, но все морепредукты свежие, готовят быстро, учитывая все пожелания. Рестораном это место, конечно, можно назвать с натяжкой: несколько столиков у бассейна и на поляне. Но обслуживание толковое, честное, никто ничего не впаривает. Чисто, вкусно и безопасно, а это главное!
Вкусная еда, суп самый вкусный из всех ресторанов (Оазис не так понравился), креветки джамбо крупные и вкусные, кальмары пряные и нежные) Удивили животные здесь: собака хозяина самая большая и красивая за все пребывание на Шри-Ланке, кошка чистая и красивая, аж покормить захотелось)
