We only went to the side near the beach. The atmosphere was not bad. The dishes were definitely above average. The service was excellent. We got exactly what we ordered.

Amazing seafood mix grill. The food was absolutely fresh and delicious. A must visit for anyone who loves seafood. A good size portion too! All in all a great day for the weather and food!

Food was amazing, especially the fried rice and Chilli crab. The owners are really nice as well. Can recommend to everyone who is driving around looking for some good seafood in the area.

A very convenient place to have food or snacks. Parking available behind the royal mall. They have provided easy access to the coffee shop via elevator and stairs.

Disappointing Experience at Royal Garden Mall Restaurant - Seafood Fried Rice and Cheesy Spaghetti

Recently, my family and I decided to have lunch at the Royal Garden Mall Restaurant, it turned out to be a rather disappointing experience, especially when it came to the food we ordered.

Upon arriving, we ordered cheesy spaghetti for my daughter, , but there was no item listed as cheesy spaghetti on the menu. we asked customized one. they provided it.
Next, we ordered three servings of seafood fried rice, vegetable chopsuey, and one egg fried rice for the adults. Regrettably, the waiting time for our meals was exorbitant. It took over 40 minutes until our food was finally ready.
Moreover, the restaurant's lack of kid-friendly amenities was evident. They didn't have any children's chairs, Most family-friendly establishments usually offer kid-sized cutlery, but it seems like the Royal Garden Mall Restaurant was either unaware of this or simply indifferent to catering to children's needs.
Furthermore, the quality of the seafood fried rice was far from satisfactory. They served three portions of seafood fried rice on a single large plate, While the dish was listed as "seafood" fried rice, we were to find that there were only four prawns in the entire plate. Any other seafood ingredients were practically nonexistent, I suggest changing your Menu card from seafood fried rice to egg-fried rice with just two prawns. Overall, the taste of the food was underwhelming, and the seafood fried rice was, by far, the worst I have ever had. I have experienced seafood fried rice in Sri Lanka, Thailand, India, and Lao on numerous occasions. but the version served at Royal Garden Mall Restaurant did not live up to its name or expectations. vegetable chopsuey also same .

The only saving grace during our visit was the attentive service provided by the waiter. However, good service alone cannot make up for the overall disappointing experience we had with the food.
In conclusion, I cannot recommend the Royal Garden Mall Restaurant to anyone seeking seafood fried rice or cheesy spaghetti.

The lackluster food service and insufficient attention to children's needs left us with a negative impression. My family and I will not be returning to this restaurant in the future, and I hope that they take this feedback into consideration to improve their offerings and overall dining experience.

This is highly recommended if you are into authentic Italian food. (Pizzas, pastas, gnocchi etc.)

I went there for a dinner. I am pure vegetarian and even after the menu didn’t had many options, the owner specially prepared Cheese White Sauce Pasta for me. It was yum and delicious. The owners are very kind and generous. Totally a great place to apend your meal hours. Also they have many sea food options. I had Mango-Passion Juice in drinks (very tasty). Thanks!

My friend and I walked around for a long time in Kalutara looking for a beach front restaurant but could not find any until the tuk rider suggested this place and we were so glad. The atmosphere was very calming and with a very nice view of the beach. The staff were extremely friendly and provided an adequate customer service and they tended to our every need. The food was also terrific and upto standard!

Great location, when we arrived which was early the place was empty and we could sit right on the edge of the beach with the sea only a few meters away. We choose the mixed seafood dish and was extremely delicious. Definitely worth a visit.

11/10! Greeted with amazing service which continued throughout. We’d come back just for that! A wonderful setting - we came at lunch time but in the evening would be just as perfect! The food was absolutely stunning!!! ❤️ we couldn’t believe the quality and the price. We were speechless throughout the whole meal. The crab….. I could never get bored of it! A good place to have a coffee. Foods are clean. Variety of foods are available including cakes, short eats, plain tea, coffee etc. Breakfast is available as a buffet. Washrooms are available. Parking is available. Service is good. Staff is friendly. Price is somewhere around the high range.

This is a place where quality of its menu and the standard is maintained over the last 10 years.They have a special talent to produce the listed menu items with the authentic quality and taste. Well worth the money you spent.I am a hotelier myself and this is the only place i feel very comfortable and the only place where i can confidently recommend any special person for a meal or the place invite someone. Will always remain a loyal customer and will certainly do everything for such quality places to prevail in Negombo.

Food is good, lots of room for improvement. Lots of bakery goods and cakes.

Прекрасное место. Отличные цены и очень вкусно, морепродукты свежие. Всегда гостеприимно, на берегу моря под шум волны. Здесь бывает местный гид Рату, он очень хорошо знает русский, поможет всем чем сможет.

Я прямо была в восторге когда открыла для себя это место. Этим рестораном владеет очень милая семья. Один из сыновей очень хорошо говорит по-русски. Еда здесь просто потрясающая. За 1900 рублей нам принесли целый поднос еды и паракуда, и лобстер и креветки, и кальмары, и рис, и салат там есть. Просто отвал башки. Парень что здесь работает (да храни его господь) очень честный. Говорит: "я могу организовать вам поездку чтобы посмотреть на китов, но верят ли вы их там увидите. Обманывать я вас не хочу".
В общем, если хотите местную кухню, и чтобы всё не было мегаострым и сварено в литрах масла - то вам однозначно сюда!

Clean and hygienic please. Friendly and good workers. tasty foods. different types of cakes, different types of buns, coffee and milk items are there. Reasonable prices . Always busy coffee shop. Drinking water is the problem in this coffee shop. because they have a water filter but there don’t have cups or glass for Drinking water. We want to ask the staff to the water glass. They will give empty glass .

We had a “spend the day” with my mother-in-law who is 91 years old. This is a very charming place for such an event. Although we have booked the cabana, due to number of steep steps, my mother-in-law did not want to use it, but cabana was well kept. The food and fresh juices that we ordered were of excellent. The wait service was superb. We gave 5 star recommendation.

Go eat something here! Good menu with different types of coffee, fruit juices, smoothies, western food (burgers, pizza) but also very good local food (chicken curry was awesome). Also have typical Sri Lankan coffee. Right at the beach (also beach entrance) with a beautiful view. Nice owners, good music and you're able to exchange your reading book! :)

Location and the surrounding is nice.but if you are going to book this place for a wedding please don't do it.Because management is harsh and not friendly. Service is worst.We went for a wedding function. they didn't let us park the vehicles near the hall. They advice us to park it 50m away parking.but i noticed many have parked the vehicles who came for the restaurent.also we ordered 150 plates,when the wedding is going on and the guests took 130 plates i asked them to refill the shrimp bowl ,but when i checked they filled it only with the gravy.without any shrimp.We then ordered another 20 plates extra.but the same thing happened.and also be carefull coz when we count the plates at first there was 100 but when we hand them for the guests there were only 93plates.Toilets were worst.they didn't cleaned it before the wedding.I hope management should see this comment and improve.And another funny thing happened.one of the management guy came and put desserts to a big plate and took it inside when theres another 15 persons remain from 150 plates that we ordered.I won't recommend this place for any one.and please just avoid it from booking it for the weddings.😡😡😡😡😡😡

I enjoyed dinner at the Paradise restaurant tonight. The waiter Chandru was extremely friendly and attentive. The drinks are cold and the service was fast. The food was very fresh, well prepared and seasoned.

The mixed seafood grill was 6500 SLR or roughly 32 USD. The platter had a generous portion of lobster, crab, prawns, fish and calamari served on a bed of chips and rice. The food was enough for two hungry guests.

They expertly blended Sri Lankan spices through seafood to create an unforgettable experience.

We will visit this restaurant again!

Nothing has changed here. Am amazing place with an amazing ambience. The owners are still keeping things up to the mark. However there was no ice cream when we went ☹ but the coffee and food was still very good. It’s a must visit place if you are in the Negombo area. You end up dropping in for a small coffee but will end up having something to eat for sure 😊 Do try their pizzas, they are very nice… However this time around we didn’t have them.

Located near Wadduwa, Thalpitiya. Good atmosphere at night. Food was good and you can access to beach as well. Prices are somewhat average and 4/5 in terms of value for money. No instruments allowed in the area but you can use it near beach. Friendly staff. Overall good experience. Recommended for any kind of function. Better if they can make the table arrangements a little better.

Excellent place, wonderful food, perfect vibe! Have found this place and came back every day, every place around is a waste of your appetite. Jani - the owner - gets his seafood daily from the market himself, wonderfully cooks it himself and serves you with warm openness. You feel at home far from home. Go shrimps - they are the best. And stay for the party!

Cool calm environment with the sea view to have a drink with friends. Food taste also good. Try crumb fried sear fish. Somedays they have live musical session too.

Note: There were few dogs and they are sleeping under the tables. So check before you sit.

Very unique place to eat as it is on the beach, surrounded by wildlife but Jani prepares delicious seafood! Although it is currently shoulder season and there are not many tourists around, the fish, seafood and fruits are fresh. Can only recommend this place!

Great place for Seafood. Lobster, prawns, crab, calamari... Everything done to perfection. We had a rollicking time at lunch today!

We went here several times while we have been in Kalutara. The seafood as well as the dal curry were super delicious, probably the best we ever had. The lobster is highly recommendable. The owners are super nice people. Do not miss going there while you are in Kalutara.

During our 7 days stay, we came 5 times to have dinner at J Lobster. While especially in that area it is almost impossible to find authentic food from Sri Lanka, Jeewan (owner), his wife and his brilliant chef are creating the perfect Sri Lankan food experience. Make sure you eat the seafood platter.

Found this lovely Seafood restaurant, I had the mixed seafood plater and was absolutly amazed! The food was incredible and the host Gihan Cooray was so welcoming and friendly, he made my stay unfogetable with friendly chat and outstanding service and such great food. Toped off by watching the sun melt into the Indian ocean! Will definetly be visiting again! Would highly recomed Barasti beach resort for food and a great night sleep
