This is the main restaurant inside Cinnamon grand hotel. Good food! Indian food , Japanese food 🍱, Italian food and Sri Lankan food available for the buffet. Good salads and desserts 🍮 🍨 . Great selection of wines🍷 , beer 🍺 and hard liquor 🥃. Truly five star restaurant with fabulous service 👍

This definitely the best buffet I've ever seen. It has so many varieties and is so colourful! There are many cuisines to try out and each of the cuisines have multiple dishes to enjoy. This is one way to taste the food around the world without even travelling. It is around 6000 per person but considering the number of delicacies compared to other buffets which charge the same price, it is definitely worth it. Other than the food and their varieties, the atmosphere was pleasant and the staff were very helpful even though they were busy, they punctually refilled our glasses with water, not like most hotels where the staff only refills at the start and not seen for the rest of the buffet. I mostly have these types of mini inconveniences like this but at plates, I had no issue at all!
Went for dinner buffet. I would say it's one of the best buffets that has something for everyone.
Indian Corner and Sushi Corner are highlights of the day.
They have a variety of meats and seafood items including whole crabs.
Dessert Corner got a good collection, chocolate fountain, Rum pudding, Cheesecake, Curd, ice cream and the usuals.
The buffet is worth the price here in my opinion.
We ordered a variety of Mock Tail and the Pink Angel gives you the best experience, highly recommended.

The dinner buffet was top notch, and seconds only for the Shangri-La Dinner buffet. I really loved the Japanese cuisine section, it was exquisite. The dessert section was fairly okay.
The chocolates were nice, but all the chocolates in different shapes tasted the same. It was nice to see, but I was not a fan of the taste. "With all due respect, I loved the chocolate sticks, but not the liquid filled once😬."

We had a tranquil experience at the restaurant. The food was authentic indian. We went to celebrate our sisters b'day. Though we went there without any prior reservation, they provided us a scrumptious cake to surprise her. All in all we had a memorable moments there..

Servers will take your orders and bring food to your table if the line is too long. Which is very nice.

The store will be opened 24/7 is really great. The food tastes amazing the manager is helpful and kind the waiters are great but the only thing that bothered me was personally that atmosphere. If you are going to dine in I won't recommend it to you

We had a get-together there having separate places for those events as well like London Grill Hall, which had a nice interior and cosy setup. When it comes to the buffet it contains quite a lot of variety of foods and is delicious as well.
Located on the Brown's beach, with seating both indoors and outdoors. Went there for lunch and had devilled chicken and smoked chicken pizzas. Both tasted really good with ample toppings and value for money. The service was quick and friendly too. Highly Recommended.
Good quality restaurant with Professional presentation . Wide variety of western and eastern dishes that is regularly replenished during buffet service . Staff are helpful and are available for table service when required. We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and had most of our meals at the restaurant. Service levels and food quality was highly consistent over our stay.

Worst fried squid I had in my life. It included tartar souce in the menu, but I received spicy ketchup. Bartender offered mayo instead but never brought it to table.
Squid had a taste of arabian oil factory, while the chicken salad had more pepper than salad.

The setting outside is lovely but unfortunately the neighbouring restaurant started very loud music with a dj after half an hour or so so not so lovely anymore. The food was okay but steeply priced. The pizzas are enormous, big enough for two

We got a satisfied meal for a reasonable price. Buffet is available and a large number of people can seat at once. Wash rooms are clean. A crowded place at day time.
Went for the lunch buffet priced at approximately LKR 5490. The food was adequate, nothing extraordinary. They had a variety of cuisines such as Chinese, Indian, Sri Lankan and Japanese. However, each cuisine had a limited selection. For example, the Mongolian section only had rice. In comparison, the dessert section had more to offer in terms of flavour. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Checked on us like thrice.

Before I start, This is an Indian Cuisine but the main items they have are Rice items and Bread(Naan, Parota, Roti) items. Don't expect to get Idly, Dosai and Puri here. But you can find many intersting items from the menu.
You will be served with Tomato Rasam amd Papadam soon as you have arrived. That Tomato rasam is great.
We had Several varieties of Naan and some starters which are kind of a Yoghurt/Curd fries. That fry is called some sort of Kebab is something new I tried and tasted good. Naans are exceptional but smaller than what I expected with my experience with other places I tried.

Prices are expensive but you cant expect less from a restaurant thats inside a Hotel.

Some of the staffs are rude to answer when we ask about the food. But food portion is good tasty thank you.
I want more chicken for your kothu
It can be reserve for only Sri Lanka police officers only.
The owners sat us up directly on the beach. Do not expect luxurious experience, this is a rustic place. The food was ok or a bit below average, a bit overpriced for the quality. The staff was nice though.
We ate breakfast here everyday for all 10 days of our stay and surprisingly never tired of the various offerings. Chef Rohan introduced himself on the first day and took special requests. He took really great care of us everyday!
We enjoyed the buffet immensely - from the soups and South Indian, to the grilled tomatoes and scrambled eggs on toast, freshly made passion fruit juice and so much more.
They provided a kids activity area on the weekends too. We also enjoyed their room service offerings.

This’ll be my favorite restaurant. It was my first time to visit there for our anniversary dinner and the food, staff,service were amazing. It’s an international buffet with different cuisines. I loved the dessert options and mostly the red velvet ice cream. We got a complimentary cake as it was our anniversary. Overall vibe is really nice and highly recommended.

I was wondering where to eat delicious pizza and i saw this resturent. The view was beautiful and the resturent was superbb! The pizza was great and mocktails tasted good. I will go to this place with my family for sure👌🏼
Simply marvelous the room was amazing the staff are helpful. Very peaceful and quiet, the food here is amazing too if you are looking to kick back and relax this is definitely worth looking into.
Terrible customer service, under seasoned food. The seafood isn’t even fresh. The prawns were actually shrimps. The cuttlefish tasted like anything but that. Everything had a pungent taste. The soup was sour, when was cream of mushroom soup sour? When asked to speak for the manager (we had actually asked the manager) kept us waiting for 20 minutes to speak to a guy who said he in fact not a manager. Afterwards proceeded us to ask to pay for overpriced sprite named as a mojito, since we drank it. Obviously had to wash down the absolute repulsive taste in our mouth with something. If you’re a local this may not be the restaurant for you.
Cool beach vibe, really nice Thai and Chinese style food. Cocktails could be improved, coz found them a little too sweet, although presentation was great! Lovely place for a date night!

Went for dinner. Had cheese naan, plain paratha ,Thantoori roti with Navaratna dhal. While our experience was pleasant and food was ok. I feel the quality of the breads should have been even better.
Another complaint was that I had to go to the washroom to wash my hands. Which is outside the restaurant bit far. Given the fact Indian food is meant to be enjoyed by hand I wish there should have been a wash basin nearby.
The restaurant is also small that makes it bit noisier .
The overall experience was ok just pointing out shortcomings.

Food is reasonably priced. Rice and curry, fried rice and biriyani available. Prices are cheaper compared to the other places. Lot of seating capacity available. And the waiters are quite friendly. Premises is clean and well maintained. Food is also fresh. Parking is freely available. Lot of working crowd visit here for lunch. Takeaway and dine in both available.
Food was not that much tasty but it was ultra expensive when It is compared to the other star hotels in Colombo. Perfect Ambience and we can allocate specific closed private rooms for our family or friends with free of charge where we can play songs and dance. As far I know, this is the only luxurious restaurant in the city with private rooms inside for free of charge.
Reasonable price, Chicken, veg, beef, saman all kind of cutlet and samosa same 50rs each. even its veg or non veg price same.

The waiters seem to be running pillars to post and seem to be lost as if they did not know what to do.
When the food finally came they were unable to serve everyone and several of us did not get what was ordered utter chaos.
Even a simple thing like serving drinking water could not be carried out correctly as a few bottles of water were randomly placed at the table which was not in the right ratio.
When portions of Chicken Tikka were served no one bothers to check if they wanted the onion salad which was part of the dish.
The food (whatever we got) was nothing great.
The average cost per person was LKR 8000 which was exorbitant considering we never ordered anything other than the main course.
Overall a very disappointing experience and I would not like to return again.

1st visit, You can find authentic Indian cuisine here. A fabulous 5 star restaurant with fine dining. Tried several bread options in naan and mutton stuffed kheema. Non veg and veg side dishes are also exceptional and quite mouth watering.

Again decided to have lunch there. This time we wanted to try a rice dish. We got lamprais. But to be honest, it wasn't like Lamprais. The taste was not that good.

The place gets crowded in lunchtime. We ordered kottu from the cashier and had to wait around 15mins to get our foods. A chicken kottu is priced at 580LKR at the time of this review.
There were good amount chicken in the kottu and had a appetizing look. But unfortunately the kottu was not good. The chicken was so dry and so greasy. Salt taste was too much.
My friend said that the place has good food usually. But unfortunately at our latest visit the kottu wasn't good and can not recommend.

They hd briyani , to say it was good but there were no proper condiments to eat it such as a spicy gravy and a proper raita.
They offer free rasam which is horrific. Since i have tried rasam from chutneys and grand hotel nuwaraeliya. You can use it to wash your plates from it no worth at all. All in all what i would suggest is that try other resturants such as chutneys at cinnamon you will feel the difference.

Came here for lunch today after a hot first day in Colombo. Super helpful young man serving. Although all the local people were eating traditionally he gave us forks and spoons and gave my husband a variety of dishes to try. I had the chicken and biriani which was very tasty. Along with my husbands large serving of various curries and large bottle of water came to R1200 (£4.36). Highly recommend
Very tasty food and good ambient. Amazing seafood choices at good prices. Lobster, prawns, fresh fish & fresh tropical fruit juice (mango, passion fruit, papaya etc) 😋 I appreciate that they are able to prepare non spicy food when asked. I had a lot of trouble with this in Sri Lanka, most places with local food will consider non spicy a food that is 🌶️🔥 to me and can't eat it. It's really annoying especially when you're hungry. Never had this problem at Sea Shells, totally recommend it

Went to a Weekend Dinner Buffet here. Staff was kind enough to arrange a complimentary birthday cake piece as we went for a birthday dinner. The place was crowded but the staff cared about the customers very well. The buffet had a good selection including Indian, Continental, Sri Lankan, Italian sections and a salad bar. Food was great but not exceptionally tasty. The desserts were even more delicious. Overall I can recommend this place for a meal at an expensive price tag.

Nice environment by the side of the sea. Great options for seating; 1. Inside the bar which is calm and quiet, near the drinks and close attention by the staff, 2. Garden which is green, a bit noisy but pleasant environment, 3. Close to the beach which is nice breeze, a bit to yourselves or group and nice views. Overall fantastic experience. While visiting Sri Lanka and staying in Wadduwa last week I walked into this restaurant with a group of locals. The staff proceeded to turn us away as they refused to serve locals (despite having zero customers anyway). Thankfully nearby restaurants (e.g. Green Lobster) weren't discriminatory and served excellent food
The Cod Father is a discriminatory establishment that does not serve Sri Lankan locals / local-looking people. Cannot review the food itself as they informed us that we could not dine there. It is absolutely disgusting (and unlawful!) that places like this continue to operate in this way.
We were rejected service at the restaurant because we were categorised as locals. Disappointed that places like this are allowed to operate in Sri Lanka, that discriminate on nationality and skin colour.
The COD Father refused to serve us because we are locals/look like locals. Would not recommend going to establishments with discriminatory policies of this nature.
Great food. Cheap, so do not expect a lot from interior. though food cost less, but tastes even better than in a close by better looking restaurants
My last holiday in Sri Lanka for 2019 was celebrated there during presidential election day night.love the sea just front of the property. Thanks to SLP department, keeping it good.special mention about caretakers of the bungalow. The police officers.

Delicious healthy buffet and reasonable prices for Breakfast dishes. A good place to bring kids for having foods. But they are not provided table service facilities,. And also they are offer good tea options.

We tried this place for late lunch and the food was the best we had in Sri Lanka. If you want to get the real experience of the cuisine you are on the right place!!Very typical. Staff very nice and friendly. The cleanliness is doubtful but we love it anyway! Super cheap and hot! (Not like tourist version hot) . real Sri-Lankien food! Thank you!
This is restaurant and they were offering buffet in lunch time. The price was 495 per one for food and drink. But they serve very sweet drink only, then staff came to me and ask do you wanna have a bottle of water? Then they were saying that it's separate charge. Actually the score is not only by this. Food was not really good and the price is not for it. And lastly, they brought "normal water" Lol. They don't put the normal water on the table. Anyway Lol.
Really good. You can see the seafood set for 2 (before and after).

Chairs are very comfortable in this hotel.
But inside of the hotel too hot and no good ventilation. Service is not perfect. I ordered the food, but servants got very much time to serve.

Great restaurant! Always fresh and tasty food. I can recommend seafood. Owners are really nice and friendly people.

A refreshing change from our hotel catering to the needs of the whole family from spag bol for kids to delicious fish for mama. We returned over and over again. Lovely to support local trade. Service relaxed. Don't come if your in a hurry!
