Absolut confusion, very long waiting time even with appointment. (8:30 … at 10:00 still no doctor in sight) Then long discussion until clarified that letter of guarantee is valid. Like many other reviewers write, if you care about your time. Don’t go there. I will Never again …. I go Gleneagles. Curious whether I get the standard generated reply for low rating review.

One of the most important and highly reputed hospital 🏥 in Penang Island and GEORGETOWN area which is situated on the city center connected with so many residential areas and commerical aspects nearby. Coming to the point and highlights of the hospital is 1.Service is Good enough but the waiting time of doctors appointment is to be taken longer and half of the day will be gone each time to Visit this place
2. Such a spacious area of each floor to be separated with clear board signs to be reached easily to the place we have to go
3. The most important and good thing is For the child care they allotted one full floor and set up with the children's playing area on the third floor to avoid the disappointment of waiting a long time to meet the doctor. Mrs. Jayanthi Carens looking for my wife which gives good 😊👍 kind of service on medication with each time clearly explanation of baby growth.
4. Good Lab set-up with little fast service for blood test on time .
5. Cafeterias are available at the ground floor with spacious seatings at the end of the hospital.
6. Car Parkings are available separately for the Out patients on the separate parking 🅿️ building for four floors each time we can get easily to the car park but it's little congested during many cars inside. TNG wallet entry at the entrance and exit ,so better we carry the TNG Card each time whenever you visit the hospital.
7. The biggest let down of this hospital is frustrated waiting time it kills the total day by waiting itself . So better you can go early to avoid long waiting times especially for the kid's doctor.
8. Finally I wished to mention about the location situated of this hospital was fabulous 😍 and beautiful greenish natural surroundings of tree's atmosphere of hilly view.

Just a minor suggestion on the waiting time for follow-up after discharge. It'll be good if TV is turned on and some soft relaxing music is played at the waiting area to soothe the patients. This aside, would like to give compliments to the staffs of the hospital who attended to my mum from 18 to 23 Dec - Dr Lee of Neurosurgery and other medical staffs are so helpful and attentive to my mum who got admitted due to road accident. Thanks and keep up the good work!

The health-screening process was efficient and thorough, and my Dr. explained things very well. The dentistry service was also top-notch. All of the staff that I interacted with were friendly, kind, and helpful. I highly recommend Island hospital. As a westerner living in SE Asia, I am very thankful for the quality care available here.

My highlight;
1. Receptionist on macalister wing is helpful with all information we need from the registration process to the doctor schedules.
2. The service and waiting process for the doctor is quite long
3. Then If it turns out you need a laboratory examination, the waiting process for it to be served is quite long
4. It seems like this hospital lacks medical staff

The receptionist of pressing number is taking thier own sweet time to switch on computer and press number for queing number 1 (from 4am standing Infront of counter). Where we can actually press the Number and take a sit. Then the registeration counter also super slow....should come in 15 min early but coming sharp 7am then only switch computer....then the scan barcode registeration can press number faster then 4 am standing number 1...what a great system which create by island hospital

Very attentive staffs/ nurses in the I-Health clinic. The spacious and comfortable waiting area makes the waiting time very well pampered with attentive staffs handling the procedure step by step and keep our waiting time very minimal for the entire full package medical check up… they also try their best to assist the report to be ready within short period of time. last but not least is the attending staff - Ms Tan xxx Chan ( sorry can’t remember her full name) who attended my consultation for the check up package, additional service for helping me to do registrations for my other doctor follow up.. overall experience with Island Hospital health screening team is superb 👏👏👏

The staff really great, cheerful also helpful me to find my products and he suggested and explained well to me about the product, Mr Haikal . Great staff 👏🏻. Please find him if been there. Keep it up 👍🏻

First time here, planning to get second opinion for my wife. Hopefully everything is allright.
Doctor cost around 250-300 ringgit.
The Hospital is clean and modern, looks good.

Clinic operating hours is till 11pm, but when reached at 9.22pm, the reception nurse told that clinic closed for registration. This is not the first time they behave like that. Super lazy clinic.

Child specialist used to examine patient and explain well. Came back after so long...consultation was about 5mins and thats it

The doctor and medical staff expertise and service is really good. No doubt. 5star for their service to patient.
The problem is their account department.
My wife admitted to undergo surgery. 2 specialists doctors attending to her case. After 2 week from discharge got called from hospital telling me the final bill is ready and asked to settle 10% Co-payment (insurance cover 90% only).
I settle it thinking all billed is cleared.
Problem started after 3.5 months. Received WhatsApp message from hospital saying there are outstanding bill for 2 visit (take note that the 2 visit is before I received call from hospital about the final bill status).
With my super busy work I have to spend many days and hours to recalled back the whole chronology, check payment receipts etc. Then only understand there is one bill is left out from the payment.

Who's fault is this?

I hope the account department will work more efficiently and do not repeat this mistake again.
Now I cannot submit again claim to my company for reimbursement as my file is already close when I submitted the reimbursement for the cash I paid for the so-called final bill 4 months back.

I been calling to 04-2383424 from 9.50am - 12.00pm but no one is picking up the phone. Just a simple calling want to get my client insurance status but no anyone who assist me.

Client having bed experience also,, keep telling my client regarding the fee charges will be how much high instead of helping her to do test immediately although she is in emergency.

Btw, two star is for high tech & good service of nurse.

Just out from this pharmacy...U have worst staff here...esp the Chinese lady staff...no courtesy to ask what customer need.....very rude...idk how come you still keeping a rude staff there 😤😤😤😤..

I did a medical checkup for the first time in my life here. From my experience, I can say that the flow of medical checkup operations is clear and effective, it's just that patients who want treatment/medical checkups here have to be patient in queuing.

My tip is to come in the morning to register for a medical checkup or you can register directly through the Island Hospital website. Then for those who want to consult with a doctor, my advice is to come before 7 am so you can take the queue quickly.

Worst pharmacy. The staffs are rude especially the Chinese lady.

First time take MCU here. All staff was very helpful and nice, the process was very efficient and not taking a long time to wait.

Register at the new Peel Wing building, there’s an underpass if come from the old building. MCU at 2nd floor.

The test taken quite complete for very reasonable price and comes in detail report. Start registration at 8.30 AM, test taken around 2 hours. Then will get breakfast & lunch, and at 2 PM the result already done along with doctor consultation.

The result is very on point and the nurse also only giving the test that we really need, no added on too much.

The new building is so neat and comfy, there’s cafetaria also coffee shop on G floor.

Nice and clean overall. Good doctor and helpfull nurses.
Hospital has many counters, but not many employee to accupy them.
I suggest Ward room need to have floor mat, to avoid slipery.

First time visited from Surabaya, Indonesia. We booked appointment with Dr. Chow & also full health screening for the next day. All done through online system. When we arrive there, they help us and direct us what to do and where to go. They also help us keep our luggages because we couldn’t check in yet to our accommodation. The doctor and the nurses also polite and helpful. The only downside is the waiting time is so long because so many patients.

For health screening we came at 8 am, waited for an hour to be called, then finished at 12-1 pm. Then we need to come back at 3 pm to see doctor to read the results.

I am from Jakarta and went here for my own health check up with other family members.

Despite all the good things about the doctors, my first experience mostly was not that pleasant. Not all, but some of the people here (esp the front desk people) are not friendly at all! I am sure they are aware how many Indonesians coming there and as a foreigner, it is normal to be confused and need some guide on where to go, who to ask, what to do next, etc. And some of them seem like resistant to even listen to my question.
Nurses are nice and helpful though, at least based on my experiences.

The hospital itself is clean, nice, and cold! It has water dispenser everywhere, a cafetaria, bakery, but not a lot of food options nearby the area. I was surprised to see the cleaners in the hospital cleaned every single seat, including every single arm rest.

Hospital front desk service is not open for 24 hours.

Was there to get some common med. There was only one pharmacist when i visited. He wasn't friendly, and was very unprofessional when I asked questions. He seemed to know nothing.

Great service to recommend suitable test kit and arranged delivery received within 24hr during this covid time 👍🏻
