Really awesome place to take the whole family. Excellent exhibit, my kids love it especially the tram ride and the aviation museum.
Like stepping back in time! What an experience, to learn where transport started to where we are today.
Enjoyed the tram ride extremely, especially the kids they were all smiles.
I took my young lad to MOTAT. Not our first time and certainly won’t be our last! We love this place, a tremendous amount of things to look and touch. The staff were very friendly and it was tidy. A great solo artist was playing on our most recent visit which added to the wonderful atmosphere. Parking easy to find. A must visit attraction.
We recently visited MOTAT with my two boys (7 & 8), and it was an amazing experience, especially for families with neurodiverse children like mine. My youngest is autistic, and I was initially nervous about the weekend crowd. However, the staff were incredibly supportive, providing noise earmuffs to help manage the noise levels. There were so many exciting things for the kids to see, touch, and play with, and the historical exhibits were fascinating. The facilities were top-notch, with toilets, eating areas, and seating available at every corner. Do wear comfortable footwear as there's a bit of walking involved to see everything. Definitely a 10/10 attraction – we’ll be back for more fun!
A glorious late May Sunday saw us at MOTAT.

Plenty of action for the kids and as usual the Tram ride to the Aviation Hall provides some further excitement.

Lack of the cafe was annoying, but apparently temporary. There were however some pop up stalls with coffee and snacks, but if you are after something more substantive - currently no good.

A fine day out with a steam train added in too.
The first time I saw those planes in person was an amazing experience. Their history behind during the war. Some vintage cars were my favourites. Interestingly, MOTAT has a sister-train of Melbourne.
A very interesting place to explore with a series of themed buildings to explore & interactive areas for kids.
The tram rides to the aviation museum run on a regular basis & add to the experience.
The staff were very friendly and helpful & the gift shop had some nice memorabilia.
My only negative was Google maps sent us to a small carpark on the other side of the road from MOTAT & we had to cross 4 lanes to get there.
Bad odour in main hall from cleaning.
Toilet not clean enough n poor ventilation
Good gathering spot to member those who fought and lay there over there, unfortunately never to return home solely. A solitude place to thank those who made it possible for the now to be here may they all rest in peace!
Great place for families. Lots of cheap paid parking and there is a free tram that connects both sites. I love the aviation hall site, but my only critique is they need more attractions for the little ones. An idea would be to have an actual airplane that people can tour inside, that would be really cool!
Beautiful space inside and nice ourdoor views. Staff were very polite and efficient. Would was delicious

Visited Sculptureum today. Amazing. Exceeded my expectations. The colour of the leaves are still so vibrant, even at this time of the year and that's just the trees! It's amazing how art can really trigger emotion. I came out feeling inspired and wanting to nurture my own (tiny) creative nature😍

Went with family, there were nine of us (aged 17-70+yrs) and everyone loved it! Plenty of parking. Well kept place/grounds. Popular restaurant. Staff are amazing, welcoming and friendly. The weather was overcast but umbrellas are provided for the walk/stroll. Awesome gallery and garden!

Excellent place to visit, something for everyone. Easy walk through curated gardens and galleries. Allow 2 hours minimum to soak it in. On-site cafe for a bite as well.
It's always easy to go to when it is voting season

We did as afternoon activities for family. We liked the sculptures and the walk around. We bought tickets on bookme for $27 per adult. Definitely better price than $50 on sport.

We had a couple of grabone vouchers and decided to visit. The sculptures and the gallery were outstanding. Great customer service upon arrival. Great for kids as plenty for them to explore, such as birds ,turtles, and a bunny. Restaurant and wine tasting require booking. Otherwise, hot chips, coffee, drinks and ice cream are available from the ticket counter.

This place is worth going, and I would like to visit again in the future:) It is saperated into three gardens and six galleries where there are more than 800 works displaying. I love the Palm garden the most, and the Pink Snail Garden is fun too! Other than sculptures, there are also some real animals, including bunny, turtles, parrots and so on. One of the parrots can say 'Hello' again and again, which made us lingering for a long time😆 Free carpark outside, and the ticket is 49.50 pp (it's 38 pp if you're a resident). Staff is nice and welcoming.

Shame about poor communication/service. I am vegetarian and ordered the vegetarian gnocchi. It came covered in roe. When I mentioned it to the waitstaff the questioned me about whether it was vegetarian (um, read your menu!!). I just pushed all the roe aside and ate it. Also, why does every menu have gnocchi for vegetarians!?

Nice dessert though.

A truly amazing place, well worth the hour drive out of Auckland. Spent a good couple of hours here wandering through the amazing outdoor sculptures and gallery inside. I thoroughly recommend this place.

Plume Restaurant and Vineyard hosted our wedding ceremony and reception earlier in May 2023. Fantastic cheese boards and three course meal, wonderful wine and a great venue - even an outdoor option when the weather doesn’t play ball! Not mention the team, especially Farida and Sebastian who were a pleasure. Would highly recommend Plume and their wedding packages!!

Took the kids for a day out at Sculptureum and we loved it. The grounds are beautifully kept, the staff are welcoming and lovely.

We enjoyed the art and gardens so much. Didn't get a chance to eat at the restaurant but we'd love to do that next time.

One of your classic outdoor museums, quite a lot of visitors but didn’t feel too crowded. Worthy of visiting once. Not sure about a second time though. You can spend half a day there, including eating at their restaurant.

The absolute stunning place if you are interested in different forms of art. I loved gardens and art gallery.

Kids will love this place with multiple farm animals and birds in the gardens.

Must visit if you are close to Matakana and I personally feel its under-rated place. But worth to visit it.

Dined here on a Saturday evening. Beautiful setting outside with great views. The salmon starter was top notch but the show stopper was the fish and prawn curry.. wow.. so well balanced, a mild curry but the flavours blew me away, honestly one of the best dishes I have ever eaten.. just amazing.

I cannot rate this restaurant highly enough. The restaurant has a new chef and it shows. The food is next level and you almost forget that that you aren’t in Auckland with the high quality of the food! These views will remind you of where you are though, with the amazing landscape.

I had the Scallops with white asparagus, shitake, onion dashi, lardo as a starter. It was absolutely delicious! Absolute umami bomb!
My husband had the smoked beetroot cranky goat curd, green gooseberry, buckwheat, beetroot ferment. Great combination of flavours and beautifully presented. Again out of this world, and absolutely delicious.

For mains I had the kiwi fish catch (John Dory) chilli prawns, seeds, curried beurre Blanc. I can’t rate this dish highly enough, I’m dreaming of it now and already planning my next visit! 10/10! Please if you go, order this dish, you won’t be disappointed.

My husband had the Easterbrook farm duck breast orasfarm lionsmane, leg potato roulade, buttermilk shoyu. Well seasoned, nice and pink and the skin was rendered beautifully. 10/10

Desserts I had Annabelle sheep milk cake, milk crisp, hickory and bay leaf ice cream. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I am glad I ordered it, it was beautiful. Hubby had Coconut millefeuille, fermented grape, fig leaf, whiskey snap, absolute perfection. We had the dessert wine, which you must try, it was a great match.

If you are looking for somewhere new to try, make this the place to go. The food was outstanding and hopefully like me your new favourite destination restaurant.

Went to a wedding here a couple weeks ago as a guest. Quite dissaponted that when drinks were bout and left on either tables ether so a boogie could be had or something to be taken to a car, staffed cleared them even if the bottles were untouched. Manager was completely unprofessional, disgustingly rude as she was communication with profanity and outlet refused to admit to what was happening or offer refund. The bottles bought at the bar weren't bought full priced. As a customer assistant myself I found it an incredible display of ignorance (maybe because she thought everyone was beyond intoxicated.. sorry no) and automatic poor service. Just ruined a whole days of good service reputation. She wouldn't provide her name and neither would the security. Just keep that in mind.

My first time at the pavilion, and everyone I spoke to found it very difficult to navigate such a sprawling complex, as there are no signs or maps. No complaints otherwise.

Nice space for the community. Was there for the culture festival and it was beautiful to see all 60 different cultures coming together to celebrate and learn from each other
They have nice play ground for kids and a big, clean community center.
Love it! Learning about commitment for a common good in the World Wars! Extensive grounds with bike & man walk_exercise track with accompanied extensive play-sports ground and community centre. Well placed outdoor exercise equipments, roller skate oval and children playground. The long exercise track for man & bicycles are along beautiful stream of water and tall willowy trees. If you love nature the Wesley side of the track provides nature sounds of wind, birds, water and ducks!!
