In my opinion, this is the prettiest ornate church in porto, the facade is stunning, the interior is beautiful, definitely worth a visit
Lovely place to visit night and day. The tower: stairs are not wide so best to go when not busy. Lovely views from the top. We brought a dual ticket which worked out cheaper with the museum.
The church at night has the light show which is very impressive and is 10 euros.

Porto’s narrowest house, separating two churches, is a curiosity from outside, but the visit (combined with the Igreja do Carmo, where the ticket booth is located) is unexpectedly extensive and fascinating. The rooms of the house are rather wider than might be imagined from the street, but the visit also takes in the church, its catacombs (in reality an underground treasury with a few bones on display), some of the rooms of the order, and a trip to the roof. It is all a labyrinth that is great fun to explore, and merits longer than might initially be imagined. There are a lot of staircases of various types, including spiral and some steep steps just before the roof, so it would be difficult for those with limited mobility. The whole complex would benefit from a one-way system, as it does get rather crowded on narrow stairways at times. However, it is definitely worth a visit.
The interior of the church is full of Baroque art and decor. Gold leaf covers almost everything making for a visual treat! Tree of Jesse is an impressive sculpture. Be sure to visit the catacombs.

Igreja do Carmo is an absolute jewel in Porto. The exterior, adorned with stunning azulejos, captures the essence of Portuguese artistry. Inside, the rich history and intricate details offer a mesmerizing experience. It’s a peaceful haven amidst the city’s bustle, perfect for reflection. A must-visit for its cultural and historical significance.
The tower great way to see Porto from above. The church is really pretty and there is a small museum with Catholic art and relics before you attempt to climb the tower. The stairs are a little steep and the stairwell is narrow, so it might be difficult to climb up if you're a bigger person or someone who has a phobia of tight spaces but the view is lovely and worth the effort.

Worth a quick visit. The usual Boroque architecture and decor typical of Porto churches... the gold overdone in the Main church. Some very expressive and beautiful statues
The basement I would avoid. Seems like a mass grave yard with all and sundry buried and numbered over the floor you walk on 🫥
Definitely worthy of a visit while in Porto. The architecture and gold gilt was stunning. I was in awe whilst walking around the church.

The catacombs and museum are also included in the price. There was no queuing when I went in and there's also a little shop at the end.

€9 entry and €1 for a guide booklet
Historic church in the city center. It features some relics, many colored statues of the passions of Jesus Christ and a mummy. More spooky than the standard catholic church. I do not recommend bringing children along.

Beautiful the details of the front of the church. Loved the inside too deffo worth a visit. Loved the fun fact of the 2 churches being connected by the tiny house built in the gap between later on, where the priest used to live. It’s 5€ entrance only cash. Not much but if you consider every paying entrance in Porto and Lisbon you’ll be spending a fortune. Otherwise 5 star
I’m dropping one star just because of the price. 9€ it’s quite pricey in my opinion, especially when you need to pay to enter any other touristy place. But the church it’s beautiful and very unique. I loved the inside and the catacombs.

Great views from the top, really enjoyed it, spent at least 30 mins at the top. Getting there takes a while because they obviously plan the route thoroughly through the church to see the museum-like rooms, chapel itself, and a green screen picture stop
Our nearby AirBNB church with lots of charming Portuguese style tiles and molding ornaments
This surely is a landmark in Porto and a must-see. Built between 1732 - 1750. The unique and impressive tower at the back of the church was built between 1754 and 1763. The tower is 75.6 metres high and there are 240 steps to be climbed to reach the top.
And if you're lucky about timing, you can enjoy the nice bells ringing.

A wonderful piece of art and architecture. Nice to take some pics - even though the angle is a tough one to get a really good pic. But as usual it's best to see with your own eyes and to enjoy the beauty of it.

It's located on top of a hill. Nothing tough, but may be a bit difficult with wheelchair or stroller. The old town center of Porto can easily be done by foot. We just did the Rua Santa Catarina, Rua das Flores and then headed here. Makes a nice walk.
This is a classic beautiful church. Unfortunately by 8 AM it is crowded with tourists. They’re not there to look at the church but rather take selfies. If you really wanna enjoy the church, get tickets in advance and enjoy them. Beautiful interior.
Small church located near my hotel. Entrance fee is very reasonable, only 1 euro. You get to visit a small museum inside the church.
The experience was one of a kind. You need to take more than 200 steps all the way up to reach the tower and the view on top is breathtaking! I highly recommend this! 👌

The architecture and design are amazing. The church adjoins another, and there is a 'hidden house' between two. You can climb right up to the roof, which offers great views onto the square below and old town. Cash only accepted on admission.
Lovely square it is situated in. Quaint and quiet. Great parking. Service was being held on our visit so it made it extra special in the local language. Cemetery near entrance was amazing as well. Had many family chapels with tile and old world architecture.

The exterior of this church is hard to miss - imposing atop a small hill. But it is also worth a visit inside. For €1 you can see the church and a charming little museum attached. Closed on Mondays.
Really beautiful Church in the heart of the Porto Riviera.

The ticket prices are Euro 9 per person and an English written guide costs an additional Euro. It's expensive but it's worth it frankly as the woodwork with the gold work is incredible and must cost a fortune to maintain. We didn't visit the catacombs but the ticket prices include this.

Make sure you take in the Christ genealogical tree. Again a must visit if in Porto.
Religious, baroque, neoclassical and neobaroque architecture. Church with a longitudinal plan, with one nave, internally defining an elongated octagon, and a deep chancel, with several attached volumes, some of later construction, with neo-baroque language in the stonework elements. Harmonious main facade, completely covered in blue monochrome tiles on a white background with scenes alluding to the patron saint, dating from 1932, characteristic of the Churches in the Porto Region in the first half of the 20th century.

Amazing view from the top of the tower but be prepared to stop on the stairs to let people pass on their way down or up. It's a small passageway! Gorgeous church!

Absolutely worth the 5 euro entrance fee. The carmelite church has adjusted itself to tourism and allows you to truly understand the sculptures and significant collections with placards in English and Portuguese. You can also visit the hidden house which is sandwiched between the carmelite and Protestant churches to ensure they don’t touch.
Only saw the outside of it but it’s a very nice church if it’s on your way
The Sanctuary is huge, very beautiful the main church is amazing, inside was a wedding and was decorated. Very peaceful and tranquil. It wasn’t too full.
Beautiful and historical peaceful ❤️ touching place.
Visiting Our Lady of the Rosary Basilica in Fatima during World Youth Day 2023 was an unforgettable experience. The beauty and serenity of the Mass touched my soul, and hearing the “Our Father” and other liturgical prayers spoken in numerous languages was profoundly moving. It was a poignant reminder of the true universality of the Catholic Church, uniting people from all corners of the world. The architecture, the atmosphere, and the shared sense of faith created an inspiring and deeply connecting experience. Whether a person of faith or simply a lover of history and culture, this Basilica is a must-visit.
A must visit church and the ticket purchased includes the older church, artifacts/museum and the catacombs. We visited around late afternoon and it is next to the stock exchange building or the commercial plaza. There were no queues to purchase tickets or to enter the church. It was a relaxing, soul searching + architectural experience. Photos are not allowed in the older church but the interior decorations and depictions are amazing and a feast to the eyes and soul.
The catacombs are next to the newer church and it's well managed and amazing to explore.
The artifacts/museums are not that exciting once you see the older church, catacombs but worth exploring.
Zeer mooie kerk.Erg rustig.³
Beautiful church in the centre of Oporto. The facade is impressive with amazing colourful tiles. This is a place to visit and see in the city. Do not miss it.
It's a beautiful and quiet place to visit the two shepherds' tombs, go to mass see the arquictectur pray , etc.
First off, I think this church is worth visiting. The woodwork inside is spectacular and richly detailed. There’s also a chapel with rich details as well, and there are catacombs. Note that this is no longer a working church, but a monument. He will not be able to take pictures inside the church itself. You can buy a nice guide for 1€.
I have 2 star because of very un organized system . I have been to several tower but this one is worst. Line to go up is terribly long like other, and they will take the opportunity to get money for the photo op. If your lucky before you even go around the tower it will take 45 mins you go around. ( you will be trap). They just let anybody to go up and down you will come across in a space of 70-80 cm not possible for 2 people (up/down) if your claustrophobic not ideal.i was standing 10 mins waiting to be out of the stairs as nobody manage people to moved. value for money 💰 is not up to the task. Waste of time .
I mean I have seen a lot of churches and cathedrals but without any doubt this is one of the most notorious ones. It has two buildings. The one the right is absolutely incredible. You are not allowed to take photos inside and I respected that and did not take any photos. The one on the left is small and peaceful.
I went here during April 2023.
Stunning architecture and amazing cleanliness. Gives off a very holy vibe while also being visually impressive.
If you're Catholic like me, you have to come here. The exact spot where the Virgin Mary appeared to Jacinta, Francisco and Lucia. So beautiful to be with so many people of faith.
Local simples mas bonito
I visited Fatima(Portugal), for a special reason that is to give thanks, prayers and gratitude 🙏🤗. I really enjoyed the afternoon, i felt peaceful, humbled and I really appreciated the silence and the quietness.
Holliest place of Portugal for Christians, its worth thr visit. Nice alley and well maintained Basilica, with no cost to visit. Easy access for elderly people with free toilets. Recommend the visit.
It was built at the end of the 18th century.
The church has three altars in the neoclassical style, on the throne of the main altar rests the image of Our Lady of Mercy.
There is a museum, for a small fee.
This is one of two minor basilicas within the Sanctuary of Fatima grounds. It is located at the northeast end and flanked by long colonnades.

The exterior features a single tower with niche and statue of Our Lady of Fatima along with a cross and crown topping the steeple. The interior is a barrel vault shaped nave with modest decoration. Side chapels have gilded altars and contemporary stained glass windows and other artworks. You'll see the tombs of the shepherd children who experienced the apparitions on the sides of the main altar.
First, we had a small dog, and we asked if we could come in. And they let us in if the dog would be on hands!
The entry fee is 1 euro.
It's good idea to spend such small amount of money and get inside, at least because of beautiful stained-glass windows. I have never seen such a style in churches before. They look quite shape of art and unusual.
Very nice 👍 place
It is so beautiful inside and out
Oh wow I live this Church
lovely baroque church
When I visited Fatima Sanctuary I also went to the Parish Church as I wanted to see were Francisco and Jacinda were baptised, its a lovely simple church with a lovely main alter and side chaplets, also a beautiful baptismal font
A must see. . . Built and loved by the local people. . .
Je voelt er de oudheid.
Beautiful church.
Took many photos visited here as my mum wanted to visit here but didnt make it .
It is simple, quiet, and good for praying. The museum attached needs to be paid. It is close to Sé Cathedral (in front of).
A sacristia tudo lindo.

A very small town with cafes and pizza. Was a nice to see this beautiful church, while eating cake and drinking tea. Very Art deco
A lovey small chapel. Thou it was simple but I prefer here because I can feel the energy there.
On the way to see my customer, I have visited this church yesterday afternoon, It is such a quite and peaceful and amazing place, located on a small hill, The wind blows white clouds……lovely!
Church dating from the eighteenth century. Together with the cathedral and the Grão-Vasco Museum, they surround the magnificent "Adro da Sé".
The interior of this church is simple but harmonious.
Through a side door to the church you can access the Mercy Museum of Viseu
The church faces the catedral, curious.
Lovely old church with special pieces for the children of Fatima. Beautiful statues including Our Lady of Smiles and the baptismal font where Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta were baptized. Make sure to stop in the gift shop.
Peaceful and faith. This place is a refill of life.
