Food was expected to be good, the oyster and scallop courses as well as the last dessert were what stood out. Given that fine dining is a lot about service and experience as well, these were really what created the 5 star rating. Being able to walk through the restaurant was incredibly unique and despite being busy, the kitchen staff were also friendly and welcoming. The service staff paid attention to our needs even before asking. Definitely an experience worth having.

Feels like a place that doesn't know what it wants to be, a clash of things that don't fit together. Firstly the food, it's supposed to be based on ancient cooking with fire, but then you get foams and pressed food and overcomplicated dishes that in the end have no clarity of flavour. For instance, the starter of ex dairy raw beef was completely overpowered by salty roe, and in another dish, you had fish, scallop, white asparagus, and duck all fighting to be tha star if the dish. The lamb skewer was dry and overcooked, and didn't have the smoky charred flavour I was expecting. The ambience is the same, where the kitchen is all clad in black metal and wood, and then suddenly there are white tile accent walls with copper which really don't scream fire cooking to me... Service was amazing though, and I thought the tour of the kitchen and moving around the restaurant was kinda gimmicky.

Portions are a bit too small but the food and service are amazing. I 100% recommend.
Great place. Amazing service and lovely atmosphere.

The menu is focused on wood fire cooking and you can certainly taste it in every course.

The dishes were hit and miss. Some dishes were really amazing some felt underwhelming and too gentle.

The scallop was the best I ever ate in my life.

The mushroom soufflé was so delicious and doing it in wood oven is definitely gutsy. The idea of mushroom dessert is not so appealing but they definitely nailed it 👍🏻👍🏻.

Such a creative and lovely restaurant crew! The menu changes every month and they never fail to impress. A lot of story telling into what went into the dishes, incredible food and great wines. Can only recommend
The dining experience takes you through the entire restaurant, even stopping in the kitchen to get a full explanation of their cooking style, and to savor two dishes.

I’ve been a fan of Francis Mallmann’s cooking after visiting his restaurant in Provence, and in love with open fire cooking after visiting Tobias Beck’s restaurant Ember, in Berlin. I’m really happy that I got to visit Ekstedt to experience more of what open fire cooking can taste like in a fine dining setting.

From the starters to the desserts, their spring menu was a wonderful dining experience. I will have to give the star of the show to the pastry chefs who presented us with a mushroom soufflé.

If you have a gluten intolerance you can safely visit the restaurant and eat to your hearts content. The menu was largely gluten-free, and the replacement for the gluten components were all made in-house, and delicious.

Highly recommended, albeit pricey.

What a great dining experience! Walked in for early dinner, no reservation and was lucky to be a solo diner and get a seat. Reservations needed! The Resto has monthly/seasonal themes, this experience was a multi course Izakaya with a fish main substitution. All of the dishes were very flavorful and though some small, they were filling. Service is fluid, friendly and impeccable.
Incredible experience, from the welcoming reception to the good bye coffe and dessert, and of course the food which was out of this world!
Incredible added value and super interesting to get to tour the kitchen to learn more about the ways of working and philosophy of the restaurant, really enjoyed it!

nice space despite being a bit crowded, we felt like the couple sitting next to us (group of friends) might ve felt too close as we were 30cm away. For the rest, great. We had a set menu and we loved it, also good service.
My husband and I went Woodstockholm as a part of our Stockholm visit. I wasn't sure what to expect from the sport's theme but what we got was interesting stories and amazing food! We went for the four course meal and all of them were delicious. The standouts for me were the octopus, the cod and the goat butter, which I had never tried before. The service was top notch as well and we had a great evening. Special shoutout to the staff for superbly accommodating my current diatery needs and the great variety of fun, non-alcoholic drinks. I'll definitely be returning.

We went here to enjoy our Christmas evening and we had a very nice experience. The restaurant is very cozy small, but for us it was part of the experience. The staff was very friendly and what attracted us most was the story telling of the dinner. Ours were sports themed and with each dish we got a interesting, funny story and delicious course served. Definitely recommend if your looking for something non standard dinner. Bit pricey, but the food was good quality!

We went to the main restaurant (lower part) last night to eat a ’Christmas meal’ with five courses. We were not very impressed for the total price of 1200 SEK per person. The view of Stockholm was fantastic but the food and service were not. Some of the courses were bland and tasted too much of raw onion. The dessert was very hard and was probably not very fresh. The wine selection (vinpaket) was of the lower quality. We were asked to keep the used utensils between each course. Nobody told us what the different courses were until we asked. They brought the bill before we asked for it. It felt like they wanted us to leave to clear the table for the next guests (and there were no guests waiting). In fact the restaurant was half empty when we left. If we ever go back it is because of the view, but then we would have a burger or something similar. I'm giving 3 Stars only because the view of Stockholm is breathtaking.

What an experience! The host, Ian, welcomed me even though I didn’t have a reservation. I was given a spot at the bar and tasted the smoky twist on an Old Fashioned, which was delectable. There is a handful of cocktails and each is a take on a classic. The wine menu is a thing of beauty, even by the glass. Swedish wine, both sparking (an affable variety, Solaris) and still, feature by glass and bottle menus. There are classic options and iconic wines, classy new world options (like Hamilton Russel) and an orange wine.
I was lucky to receive a tour of the kitchen where the chef kindly showed us how the wood fired Swedish ovens work. All the food is sourced as locally as possible, with many ingredients conserved from the summer months.
The menu is 16 courses. I only tried 4 and each morsel left a memory of layered, unfolding flavours and textures, crafted and sat on beautiful ceramics.
It’s worth noting the diversity of the youthful team, adding nuances to the dishes with inspiration from various regions in Sweden and further afield.
The atmosphere is relaxed enough to attract a diverse crowd of food lovers, there was a young couple, an older group of friends, a couple of lone travellers (me and an American lady). That said, you do know, as soon as you walk in, that you’ve entered into a place for serious food lovers. There’s a focus about the place, with each member of staff deeply attentive to the main event - serving you.
Prepare to be pampered into an olfactory journey by these masters of food and drink.
Worth a journey to Stockholm. Enjoy!

The fish soup (fish and shellfish casserole) tastes really great! I love it.
The chocolate lingonberry truffle is also delicious, (balance of sweetness and bitterness)!
A little too expensive but has a cozy atmosphere for small talk.
The most impressive dining experience I’ve ever had. Truly was blown away. From moving through the space, having first courses by the fire, sitting at chefs table and such lovely service / managers… really amazing. Loved all the fresh and local ingredients. Having the option to do the juice + wine pairing was perfect. Expect 3 hours +. Thank you from NYC!

I had a spot by the bar and ordered several dishes as per my own choice - ending up eating too much but I was happy about it. I loved it, every dish- from the reindeer snack, to bacalaitos and duck pancakes. The last meal, I opted for a vegetarian option, called okonomiyaki - one of the best meals of my life. It was an incredible explosion of flavors. I’d make the remark of too much salt as well, less would work equally well in the majority of the cases.
Service was adorable, absolutely. I had the feeling it’s one of this beautiful discoveries that will live long in my memories with the wish to come back and relive the same.

Wow! Do you know when the food is so delicious it tickles you with joy? This is seriously one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to - beautiful intimate space, unmatched service from my host, and the food delivers truly unique and exquisite flavor combinations - oxtail, black currant, pork chop, cheese, honey, monkfish cheek, and apple just to name a few - and their pairings are perfect. I wish I had a legit camera to capture the beauty these plates displayed, and I also wish I lived here so my wife and I could frequent this fine establishment.

Food was good the service was awful a few mins before closing and the guy definitely could not be bothered even getting me a soda for his life….. he was like we close at ten umm yup two mins still left could had rang up a sprite and called it a night but absolutely no accommodation for that 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️
Good example of how traditional cuisine can be served with chic. Interior of wood combined with arts gives very special atmosphere to the place. Food tasty, nothing special, but tasty.

Extraordinary restaurant with great ambience. The dishes are laid out by taste and prepared very creatively. The presentation is very appealing and there is the possibility to order a wine corresponding to the dish in each case. The service is attentive and friendly, and the price-performance ratio is reasonable. A recommendation for all who want a very special taste experience that will be remembered.

Amazing experience. Food was amazing, the vegetarian menu was part of the theme and not an after thought. They paced the food with a lot of time in between, we sat for over 3.5 hours and it never felt rushed, even full or bloated after all the food. Wish we had the capacity to try each flavor. Highly recommended!

Only negative was it was packed and noisy.

Food was nice, but the service at the end was awfully rude. We wanted to separate the bill, I asked first if it was possible. The waitress said yes, but she just split it 50/50. That’s not how you do the bill separation. So I asked her if she could do it by the dishes. Then she said yes, but she was saying things like “but I have to walk to the cash desk again and print the bill again”. Excuse me?! It was only 5 steps away and you couldn’t bother to do it and at the end strongly suggesting us for tips?!?! So my overall experience was nice food, but the restaurant definitely needs better service management.

Visited Smak in Sep 2023. An absolute delight to find a tasting menu that has a dedicated vegetarian list of dishes and you can pick the ones you like!

I had a choice of 10 savoury and 4 sweet. Picked 3 savoury and 2 sweet. Every single one utterly delicious and packed with complex flavours. Wine pairings available too. Definitely quite a pricy meal (but we'd had some much cheaper meals earlier in the week so could justify this as an end-of-the-holiday treat).

I love the fact that their menu changes seasonally, and if I'm in Stockholm again any time soon, I will definitely be making another visit to Smak.

Not giving Frantzén 5/5 should be considered a crime. This is one of, if not the best food experiences you will have in your life. The food, together with the atmosphere and service is nothing less than amazing. Nothing at this restaurant is taken for granted, it's perfection at its best and words are not able to describe the experience. If you like food experiences, go to Frantzén.
In general I like this restaurant. My dish was great and I really enjoyed it, but my colleague’s food was not so good. What is worth to mention, the restaurant resolved it in a very professional way, therefore I can recommend it
Amazing and centered Restaurant in the capital, the food was exceptional. The typical Swedish dish was really tasty. The personal was really professional, polite and friendly. For me the best service so far in Sweden.
The restaurant has a proper size, so they handle the clients in a more personal way. You can also seat outside.

The restaurant is very small, and sitting at the bar next to strangers that scream is not an ideal way to start your evening. Regarding the food (theme pancakes), nice presentation but rather uninteresting flavors and very small portions. We had the four course menu, and that was in no way adequate amount of food. The service was lovely but unfortunately not enough to even it out, we won't be coming back.

Very classic and old world elegant atmosphere and it even has booths inside. And who doesn't like a booth? They even had a library ladder to reach the wine and liquor bottles! The food was very good. Though the shrimp salads were a bit underwhelming. I had the Duck breast which was excellent as was the lamb shank. A lot of people got the meatballs there which I don't understand the attraction of anywhere. But they all seemed pretty pleased. The wine was a bit pricey so we stuck with beer. The Venison Tartar was also very good. The service was very good.

WOW! Reservations a must. There are two seatings each night and courses are served at the same time. Don’t be late and dress well!( Not stuffy, but jeans and hats would be out of place. )Small, intimate vibe. The menu changes, so check current menu. The service is impeccable. Every dish is described in detail. The wine pairing is perfect. The staff have extensive knowledge of wines. The food was sublime. The service pace is relaxed and perfectly timed. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Frantzén has quite literally blown my mind and totally exceeded my expectations after having visited their sister restaurant Zén in Singapore. Thanks for making this such an incredible dining experience and lifelong memory for me and my family. I loved everything from start to finish, but the French toast will always be my favourite. Food prices for me are quite normal, I could say even a bit low for being in one of the only rooftop restaurants in Stockholm. The drinks on the other hand are slightly more expensive. Food quality was good for us, quantity too. The salad that came with the chicken was a pleasant surprise.

Service was friendly and fast.

Nice atmosphere, not special.

I just like that it's affordable.

Great venue at what must be highest dining spot in town. Food was great although no flexibility for the fussiest eater in our group. Biggest issue was being rushed by unsmiling staff who were desperate to turn the table. They brought the bill without me asking and I had to point out that our reservation was for 2 hours. At least we got to finish our coffee!

Charming restaurant. Servers are working non-stop. Every dish was delicious. Toast Skagen was the best of them all. It did take a while for our food to come out. Main course came out over an hour after we were seated and we ordered without any questions. A few tables seated after us finished well before us. A little strange but still highly recommend.

I’ve been here around 5 times before, so when my friends told me to have a dinner here I was happy 🙂. I came earlier and had some cocktails and olives. The olives come packed in a jar the same way you buy it in the supermarket instead of being home marinated as it usually is… after we went to the table and ordered more cocktails and drinks and chose our food. Me and my friend love to share every time we go eat out so that’s what we did. The tuna in the ceviche was not fresh and it didn’t had any citrins to hide it and it was missing salt as well. The tartare was cut in big squares which is not traditional and was very hard to chew, but the presentation of both dishes was very beautiful. The burger was good but the side sauce very basic. The chicken salad was missing 1 more chicken piece and the sauce was tasting fish too much and too salty. Also the rodding was over cooked. Overall the main courses presentation was not as beautiful as the starters. The desserts and espresso was perfect 👍 we also had trouble with the bill 3 times… I just want to say that this review is not to judge but yes to help to get better as I was there 5 other times and everything was great 🙂 hope this was helpful and see you soon for new experiences

Intimate and small neighborhood eatery focusing on seasonal and local plates. The table seating is designed very open and rustic, there is one large table in the room which is surrounded by other minimalist tables.
The dinner consists of a short and a long tasting option with 3- or 6-courses (plus amuse). Fish and meat options are really good here, the salad was too simple for my taste. The dessert wasn’t outstanding, it was a rhubarb compote with, vanilla bean ice cream and spruce oil.
I recommend the restaurant for the quality of the food, but I don’t recommend the short menu just for the price ratio (large menu is only 200 krona ~ 17€ more).
The drinks menu is very limited too, which isn’t automatically bad. But again, the price of wine by the glass is the same as the price of champagne by the glass, which may be unusual or unexpected. The wine was good though. It was 100% Chardonnay from Burgundy, with notes of green apple and peach. Very fruity and easy to drink.

4.5 overall, rounded to 5.
5 star for food and wine pairing. All dishes are so delicious and very interesting wine selections! Staff were friendly and would introduce everything. Michelin 1 star level.

I would minus half star:
1. You get full, but not that full. Out of 6 courses, there were 2 deserts. It would be good to switch one to a warm dish.
2. Drinks are a bit overpriced. 1 small glass of champagne is 200kr, and a watery coffee is 35kr(they pull a half cup only).

Woodstockholm is a fine dining restaurant in Stockholm that delivers a unique culinary experience with a 90's theme. From the moment you enter the restaurant, you are immediately transported to a different time with its nostalgic decor and ambiance. The restaurant's attention to detail in every aspect, from the music to the cutlery, is impressive and creates an immersive experience.

The highlight of the restaurant is undoubtedly its outstanding menu. The dishes are expertly crafted and feature amazing flavors that blend perfectly. Each dish is presented beautifully, making the dining experience visually appealing as well. From the appetizers to the entrees and desserts, every dish was exceptional, and it was evident that a lot of thought and creativity went into each one.

The servers at Woodstockholm were polite, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They provided excellent recommendations and were happy to answer any questions we had. We felt well taken care of throughout our meal, and the service only added to the overall positive experience.

Overall, Woodstockholm is a restaurant that I highly recommend. The attention to detail, exceptional menu, and excellent service make it a must-visit for anyone looking for a unique fine dining experience!

The food was really good. The meat was perfectly grilled, with strong smokey taste. The environment was interesting, but not such a casual steak house.. Kind personal and fast service. The only thing I noticed and annoyed me was that there wasn't a food choice on menu to totally satisfy me. For some reason I felt that always something is missing or something is less or more to each choice. But for sure I enjoyed it a lot and it is worthy.

My initial impression of the restaurant was underwhelming due to its unassuming exterior. However, upon entering, I was greeted by friendly staff and a well-dressed clientele. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, setting the stage for an enjoyable dining experience.

The food was nothing short of amazing, with a particular focus on mouthwatering meat dishes. The convenient location, just a stone's throw away from Odenplan station, made it easily accessible. Overall, this restaurant delivered an unexpectedly delightful dining experience, and I would highly recommend it for a memorable office dinner or special occasion.

The food was overall delicious. The Jerusalem artichoke soup with scallops and lemon creme had a great contrast with the acidity of the lemon cream and creaminess of the soup. The reindeer roast beef was absolutely cooked to perfection. It was so tender and the mashed potatoes and lingonberry sauce complimented it so well. The fish and shellfish casserole was also delicious and very light. The mousse was dense and the crunch really made a difference. The service and the ambiance are also top notch would recommend it to everyone that is visiting Stockholm.

Had a company team dinner here, we were not disappointed but also not necessarily impressed overall.
What is def impressive is the view, very hard to find a better one in Stockholm, so def recommend for drinks with a view.
The food was ok but nothing outstanding I would say, especially for the price, still in line with Stockholm avg tho.

Only had drinks there. The selection is good, the prices are reasonable and the view quite fantastic. The place could certainly be made more comfortable though and the whole “booking to get a nice table” is far from optimal. That being said it is still a very nice place with a perfect view over the whole of Stockholm.

Overall the food quality and quantity doesn’t match its price.
Highlight: Beef tartar. The aged beef paired perfectly with black truffle, and the cut of the beef was without any bit of tendons. The texture got neutralized by the crisps and cream cheese. It was the best beef tartar I had in Stockholm, but it could not save the whole menu.
Worst Dish: The duck. The duck skin was very soggy and the meat was super dry. The side root was hard as rock.
The other dishes were plain. You can feel that they were trying to be creative, but unfortunately it didn’t end up in good results. For example, matching crayfish with cheese beans stew is creative, but the type of cheese they chose was overwhelmingly strong and you cannot taste the original flavors of the crayfish.
Furthermore, I was barely full after the dinner. Unfortunately with this price range, you can find a bunch of better places in Stockholm.

The best restaurant I've been to this year. They have it all. The best ingredients: king crab, lobster, aged balsamic from Modena, in-house caviar, truffles from Zaragosa and scallops. The best service: Andre, Markus, Neils, Chris, Frida and more. The best incorporation of ingredients into their menu. And their pastry chef with the fresh madeleines are to die for. Mind you it is also the priciest restaurant I've been to but as the adage goes you get what you pay for. In this case you get even more. Thanks to Frantzen to a memory that'll last a lifetime.

We ate delicious food paired with wine. Each food and wine was served with detailed explanations, and every food and wine was fantastic. Compared to the satisfaction of the food and wine, the price was not so expensive. A restaurant that I would like to recommend to tourists visiting Stockholm.

Very good service and excellent drinks but if you are on a budget go somewhere else.

Ok here we go folks. Time for the main culinary event of any trip to Stockholm and/or your entire life. Björn Frantzén finally got his third star after opening Frantzén 2.0 back in 2017. The new venue is essentially perfect in every way and it clearly shows that this has been designed from the ground up. Quite literally as they have a lobby where you are welcomed and then you take the elevator up to the lounge while Welcome to the Jungle is playing for some reason.

In the lounge they serve a couple of snacks while you peruse the beverage options. Much like any restaurant of this standard they offer a selection of wine packages and juice options. After the snacks they take you to a box where they show and describe the ingredients that they will be using tonight. Don't worry if this takes a while because they will happily refill your glass of hilariously expensive champagne while you listen to the cheerful server describing the ingredients.

Then it is time for the main event. The dining room is located downstairs and it is a long bar style table around the kitchen. Beware of that while it is interesting to see the chefs work you will be sitting next to other diners. This is thus not exactly the most romantic setting for a date or something.

The food is perfect. That is the only way to describe it. Standout dishes include a langoustine that you eat with your hands, a sublime piece of cod with a mound of caviar on top, and lamb cooked over an open wood flame.

After dinner you get served petit-fours in the lounge which was a great way to end the meal.

The service is excellent as in any 3-star restaurant. Friendly yet not imposing. I did notice that the timing of the servings was perfect as well with just the right amount of time between dishes.

We paid about 16000 SEK(~$1600) for two people including wine, champagne, and coffee. This is of course a lot, on the expensive side even considering the quality and location, but I think that it was still worth it.

Oh! They also have the best bread of any restaurant I've ever been to and that is saying a lot. They will keep asking if you want more until you tell them to stop. It is delicious I know but please save room for the petit-fours!

So there you go. You paid $1600 for dinner for two but you still feel like you got your money's worth. Does it get any better?

Wow! Now I'm carnivore/ketoish...so this is a place for me. Great meat, cooked perfect...oysters and mixed charcuterie as starter, beef with filled onion, coffee and chocolate love it. Friendly and helpful staff would love to go back

Absolute heaven for any meatlover. Everything from the pre dinner drink to the dessert is top notch. Meat so tender it's a riddle that it stays in solid form and just doesn't melt on your plate like icecream. The brisket could be displayed at the Guggenheim Museeum as a piece of art over the acheivements accomplished by the human kind in the area of food... Quite an extensive wine list especially if you're into french or italian wines, but surely offers something for everyone. Select your kit of high quality side orders to go with the meat and just endulge. Ultra professional and nice staff makes this experience complete.

Had dinner with my family. As a meat lover I had high expectations after what I've heard from friends. The lobster starter was fantastic, the charkuteri as well. We had hanger streak (njurtapp) and brisket (oxbringa) as mains with french fries and bearnaise. The hanger steak had impressive taste but a bit hard to chew, the brisket was great but both could have been larger portions. The 4 star is for the quality and price which I compare with eg restaurant AG which is my favorite meat restaurant in Sweden.
