A must do every time we visit Singapore, a restful haven in a busy city. Always spotless with helpful staff. The Orchid Garden is always worth a visit, and the recent extensions are excellent. Try it out at different times of the day, very pleasant sunset stroll location

Lots of food options both during day and night definitely a food heaven. Night is usually more crowded with live band tp enjoy music. Price is very cheap. Definitely a tourist friendly place as they won't charge tourist price and its accessible to nearly every local Singapore food. Would come back again next time.

You must stop here, what an incredible experience and so inexpensive. The history here is incredible and make sure you check out Satay Street. We got here after 10pm and it was packed, but you could still find a place to sit.

Make sure you got good walking shoes. Kids loved it and that is all that really matters. We spend the entire day there. In addition to the animals a newly opened Kids zone had just opened and helped to burn up even more of the kids energy. Food is well......amusement park fare (prices included) but at least there were no problems in getting the kids fed. Bring your own water bottles as there are several refilling stations throughout the park to keep the family hydrated. Lots of shows around the park. Try to find or download a schedule for shows and feedings times.
It is a good place to visit, which is pretty much weatherproof as most of the attractions are either indoors or shaded. It's a good alternative to the zoo that is exposed to the elements.

Very nice walking experience on a cloudy and cooler Saturday. Been more than 20 years since my last visit here.
However the signage needs some improvement, as my friends and I were walking round and round following the road signs. In the end, we had to ask around for the way to get to the place we wanted to visit.

A very nice tourist attraction where fresh water animals are on display. Not to be missed when in Singapore. Panda is one of the main attractions.
There is a boat ride also called the "Amazon River Quest" for which you need to buy tickets separately. The entry ticket to the park will not get you the boat ride.
There is an Animal show as well. However, you need to reserve a seat at least two hours before the show. Check the show timings on the website.

Don’t waste time for night safari … nothing is useful instead go for zoo …

Really a great urban jungle in the midst of the city.. had an amazing time going through the park.. feeling the fresh air.. had a long, tough walk through the vast park. No entry fee. The National orchid garden had a separate fee.
Great to see so many different animals that aren't in normal zoos.
The show is brilliant and well worth booking.
The only issue is as suspected it got too late at night to see all the animals before the kids got too tired to go on.
Favourite animal was the rhino and seeing them be fed.
Parking was plentiful and toilets were available frequently and were clean.

One of the most sheltered and relaxing zoos, I can walk around the area easily either on rainy or sunny days. I would recommend combining visiting another zoo theme with this. The downside is the dining choices here are limited, unlike the Bird Paradise.
One of the more interactive but undervisited exhibitions available today. It's definitely worth a visit.
My husband and I came here practically every night during our vacation since it was so good and so cheap. Amazing choices, try the Satay Street food (7 and 8 I think), absolutely amazing!

We went in the morning and got to see most of the animals however timing is very important. If you want to see the animals up and about you need to be there at the hours where the sun isn't at its peak since, understandably, the animals go and rest during these hours.
It was so great seeing the pandas, I'd say that's the main reason to going to the River Wonders. It's a lovely place, especially if you take the time and wait to see if animals will come and say hi.
My only two critiques is the price of the boat ride ($5 per person). I find it unfortunate that it's not included in the base price of the ticket for the Zoo since you'd be missing on a lot of animals included in the River Wonders if you don't go on the boat ride. Also most of the animals were hiding from the heat when we went, and since it was a short ride (and I found that the boat went very fast during times you'd want to see animals), we missed out on seeing quite a few species.

Really nice garden to visit. They have wild chickens and lizards running around. We stumbled across a school of turtles and it was a magical experience. Very interactive and fun to see all the animals roaming free. They even have a little museum discussing the history of the gardens and they have a delicious food shop near by as well. We only bought a few juices from there. Highly recommend this activity. Just hydrate and keep cool. Singapore is very hot outside.
The zoo is enormous with a variety of zones to explore. There are bus services available to reach different points within the zoo. We use rewards for a complimentary breakfast, which offers a diverse selection, though the taste is decent. Animal shows are scheduled throughout the day. Overall, it was very impressive.
A place to visit for authentic Singapore cuisine. So many options to choose from, and the food is delicious. This takes street food to another level. The atmosphere is electric, and the environment is very clean considering 100s of people sitting in one area. There are different kiosks to buy whatever food you want.

Great zoo! It was hard for our kids to walk around and no strollers were available for rent. Highly recommend getting a bundle pass for all 3 locations beforehand! A lot of construction going on when we were there, but other than that, great zoo!
I did not go into the museum but stopped into the gift and coffee shop to escape the heat. Cute little place and the staff were so friendly and telling me of places to visit. I'm enjoying Singapore alot quieter than Tokyo...had the waffles and I'm not big on sweets but very delicious. Person next to me let snap a shot of their chocolate waffle, everyone is so nice here. Stop in for a quick sweet, coffee and water.
Magnificent gardens! We had a great walk through the gardens and also through the orchid section. There is good bird life here. It is very warm during the middle of the day, and most people looked like they were suffering a bit. So bring a hat, and some suncream. At the end of the National orchid gallery, there is an air-conditioned area and that was a welcome relief after walking around for awhile.
Very small space compared to their previous building. A great chunk of the winning products aren't on display, replaced with a descriptive poster instead. It started of interesting but became quite tiring to read through those paragraphs, especially without the objects present.
The museum part itself is kinda disappointing, but the café provides a really nice spot to shelter from Marina Bay's scorching heat.

The zoo was informative and fascinating. However, I don’t recommend the tram ride, as it all comes down to luck; the only good seat is the one at the very front, and at the very back, you can barely photograph animals as the tram already begins accelerating.
If you are able bodied, the walk is much more immersive, unless you manage to get the front row of the tram. Also, there is no wait for the walk.

It was entertaining and informative. Some trivia that you can learn and different species of fish you might not have are there for you to see. There's a certain area that was closed but no information why or don't know if they make this known when you are buying a ticket. It would help as you would like to enjoy the whole package yet an area is closed and you were not informed.
River Wonders has some excellent animals to see like giant panda, red panda and manatee! We also loved the sting rays, and the interesting assortment of odd freshwater fish. This is not advertised as an aquarium experience but a lot of the exhibits are aquariums. It took us 3 hours to traverse the whole park, including time to queue for the boat ride. We liked the idea of the Amazon walk through experience but there were not many animals to be seen. Most were escaping the heat. I would recommend to the Zoo to consider adding more seating to this park, there are not many places for weary feet to rest.
Fabulous flowers and gardens. Walking through you can see so many examples of the local flora and enjoy them in their natural setting. I loved all the lakes, and all the statues and the beautiful plants and foliage.. And is usually orchid garden was it’s stunning self. Just a sight for sore eyes.

Such a beautiful place. Really enjoyed my walk in the different gardens. Although it gets quite hot after 11am, there’s lots of tree shade which helps. Bring water and a cap. There are a few water coolers but they are difficult to find.
The Musical Box Museum is a wonderful and one-of-a-kind attraction. The diversity of musical boxes on the show pleasantly surprised me, each with its personality and song. The museum truly celebrates music and craftsmanship. I wholeheartedly suggest it to anyone seeking a delightful and melodic experience.
Little expensive for what it is but it's something really different! There is something really cool about being in a Zoo in the dark :D

An excellent zoo experience at night. Well organised and excellent habitats. The lighting is adequate to see the animals. The Creatures of the Night show is also worth seeing even though the creatures do not appear for very long. The highlights were binturong, a few different palm civets, giant anteaters and Malaysian & Indian porcupines.
Very good experience, plenty of informative boards and great places to get good view of the animals/fish. Allow 2+ hrs as a minimum for your visit, more if it's busy. We visited on a Monday afternoon in September and it was not very busy which made viewing the exhibits very easy, but unfortunately the river ride was closed for maintenance. Highly recommended.
Amazing experience! Highly recommend. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The trams for the night safari come by often (every 10mins) and the entire experience is very well organised and run. Also recommend going through the walking trails and getting up close with the animals.

We had a fantastic & interesting experience in d Musical Box Museum. The 50mins tour done by the Japanese owner Mr Minami was perfectly conducted. We walked around, admiring the intricately designed musical boxes & were awed by the craftsmanship in olden days. Learnt about the history of musical boxes & how they worked as we walked along the exhibits. The sweet melodies produced by the vintage musical boxes were absolutely enchanting.There are also some interactive parts where we can toss a coin into the antique musical boxes to play music. The most amazing part was we can use our paper admission ticket to play music too! It was a perfect way to spend a lovely day & we end it with eating Hokkaido matcha vanilla ice cream in the museum cafe! Btw meeting point is at the museum cafe where you can buy the tickets then & there. But do remember to book an appointment first. Strongly recommend to those young & old who enjoy music!
Very well done exhibition. It's free entry, air conditioned on the second level, and worth the visit if you haven't been. We spent about 30-45min here. It's all very kid / family friendly. The greeters will help you through registration at the start of the show and you're left to explore the exhibit. It's very interactive, with interesting facts, games, and more. I'm visiting Singapore from Canada and had a good time learning.
Visited early evening and had such a great experience. Attended as a group of 4 and set up camp on on of the tables. We then sampled a couple of dishes from perhaps 6 different vendors. Each dish was great and prepared fresh. Understand this is a couple of dollars more expensive than other hawker centres but still fairly priced. Stall 13 serving Japanese food was my favourite.
Brought my kids yesterday to this private museum as it's a Sch holiday. It's really an eye opener to see these working condition antique musical boxes & my kids love the hands-on experiences. Guided tour throughout

A free and interesting place to visit to have a good understanding of the various Singapore Chinese culture and traditions. Uniquely Singapore. Must visit for all who are interested in the culture and traditions of Singapore Chinese.
There wasn't much to see at the exhibition. Many of the award winning designs were not on display, which was disappointing. Instead, some of the walls were covered with design concept presentation prints, requiring visitors to read through numerous display boards.
As a visual person, I had hoped to see the real objects (or at least 3D models) rather than just reading about them.
Some of the displayed products were not in a working state, making it difficult to assess their functionality and performance. For instance, none of the lighting fixtures were turned on, so it was impossible to determine their design quality. Design should always prioritize function, so seeing non-functional light fixtures felt like looking at mere dummies.
Despite the positive reviews this place had received, I was somewhat disappointed as it didn't meet my expectations.

BEST bang for your buck in terms of SG museum visits, along with National Gallery. Orui-san is most passionate and lively Renaissance-man guide. Music here is magical and one of a kind. Book in advance by email!
Affordable entrance fee of $10 and lots of cool design gadgets to check out. 2 floors so relatively compact but good place to kill time or take refuge from the heat 😁

The permanent exhibition on Chinese Singaporean culture has about 12 rooms of 15 minutes. You can spend around 2 hours slowly reading and playing with their set ups!
I really like that they adapted the interactive wrist tags and buttons similar to National Gallery of Singapore. They ask you questions like if you were also caned when young, or if you prefer breadtalk or old chang kee. They also show the amount of people who also chose the same answer. At the end, you can print out your unique ticket that shows your choices :) Seems a little data collection for me but it's still fun to do!
Some rooms talk about local cuisines and food, its history, and has realistic wax designs of it! They really go in depth into laksa and kaya toast, linking it to other cultures and races in Singapore to have the unique hawker center culture we have today.
Other rooms talk about chinese traditions like Qin Ming, and history of Chinese immigrants moving into Singapore. Some rooms are quite nostalgic as they have childhood memoirs that you can touch and move, like casette players and chou chous!

Finally, we went up to the rooftop. It is currently rabbit-themed according to the 12 zodiacs. They have a fake mahjong table, fake hotpot, some swings and pretty wall murals! Would love to see how they will switch it up for the year of the Dragon next :)

Free for entry, got temporary exhibitions on level 7 and Root top garden. Level 2 is the most fun part of the whole centre as it got an interactive bracket for checking your understanding of Chinese culture. I will say I did learn a lot of new insights from this place but I was expecting more stuff as I feel this place is huge but empty. Recommend visiting from you are interested in Singapore Chinese culture no matter which ethnic group you identify as.
Everyone who wants to know more about the evolution of Chinese people over the generations in Singapore should pay a visit. The exhibits are interactive and it caters to both English and Chinese speaking (reading) crowds. I brought my family (includes a 70+ year old and a 4 year old) and they all enjoyed the time spent here. The curation of the exhibits are great. Kudos to the SCCC team. And it’s free! Strongly recommended.

I wouldn’t probably go here again, maybe in 10 years? Because honestly it was really fun and exciting but not so much that I want to go again. I think once is enough, as the park is also quite small and limited. Nevertheless, would recommend!
Been here for the 100 years of Singapore art exhibition. Good exhibition hall with friendly staff. Do check out the permanent exhibition on local chinese culture on their second level! Also, do not miss the rooftop garden. Managed to catch the planes rehearsal for National Day parade on my visit.
Super interesting to learn more about musical box history! We got lots of demos and even got to touch some of the musical box parts. Docents were very knowledgeable, friendly, and answered all our questions. The ticket is super cute too! You will get the chance to use a little musical box to play a short tune using your ticket. Some tunes included Majulah Singapura, snow white, happy birthday, and auld lang syne.
The tour is 1h long and very comprehensive.

Excellent experience in the night Safari. Make sure you go by 7pm and book the creatures of the night show which lasts about 30 minutes after which you can line up for the tram and travel in it for about 40 minutes which has speakers that self explains all the animals in the park . Few animals cannot be seen while going in the tram for which you can walk in the trails. At the end of the tram journey there is a restaurant and sitting area where you can enjoy good food of multiple cuisines .
Lot of unique designs. Very creative ideas. There is a free area where you can experience the products and even buy them. There is a paid museum area which we didn't try as we were short on time
My family had great fun posing with the wall paintings. Sure brings back a hell of a lot of memories, especially for my folks, as it depicts their era and way of life. Nostagic and offer a peek for my younglings to see back in time. Great fun for young and old!

It was a enjoyable visit to the Musical Box Museum. I am surprised to learn about the variety of disc and cylinder types made with different materials.

Totally wowed by a first visit to this place. Singapo 人 exhibit has something for everyone and very enjoyable and interactive. Segment on food appeals to everyone. Fantastic roof top with great views of city port. Ground floor atrium exhibit of various dialect groups was informative. Overall, very well done.
Machines are marvellous, absolutely jaw-dropping. They must have felt like magic hundred years ago.

A hidden, small private museum next to Thian Hock Keng temple where this would be a lovely place for people who like antiques or music. This is also a guided tour, so do remember to book them online before heading down. Think there are only 5 sessions per day.
The pieces are mostly over 120 years old, are part of a private collection. It is amazing how good these antiques are being maintained and still sound clear.
However, there is a lot of listening and standing during this 45 min to 60 min guided tour. So not ideal for seniors.

The place is very easy to find and near to the mrt station. 1 hour is enough to see it completely. You will find here interesting. Many good spots to take pictures. And there are some places near here with a good view so you must visit all of them too.

Very informative and interesting museum. My wife and I expected to be there for less than an hour having looked at the floor plan, which looked small. We were surprised we stayed for over 2 hours. Most of the taxidermy were on the lower side, sometimes bordering humorous. Descriptions and displays were great and easy to understand. If you're into biodiversity, then I'd definitely recommend visiting this place. I had the opportunity to visit during the parasite exhibition and was pretty grossed in a good way. Kudos!

Writing while Walking and Other Stories is an artwork by Heman Chong. The text on the wall is written as he walked from his home on Depot Road and around Singapore aimlessly for 8 hours.
Safe Entry is an artwork by Heman Chong. It is based on a QR code repeated and amplified over a very long wall.
Can take many many tumblr photos, especially with the special event booths going on. Nice place to chill if you have time. Free for Singaporeans. Lively place both in the morning and evening.
Beautiful arrangements and architecture, awesome building. We can get good clear picture about Singapore history and culture. I was enjoyed and learn lot about thire history.. Each and everyone should visit this place in your life time. It's Quite silent, nice and calm place. Good maintenance. Keep it up. Good luck.
An interesting Art Museum showing rare masterpieces of Claude Monet and other Impressionists. I expected less from this museum, but was impressed to see loaned masterpieces from European galleries, like d'Orsay. At time of our visit (March 2018) there was a special exhibition, showing masterpieces from Monet, Renoir, Juan Luna and others. The building itself is a spectacular, Neoclassical in style, but too large for the pieces of art i offers. An hour is enough to take at look at the most prominent pictures.
If you are living in Singapore then you should definitely visit this National Museum one day because this shows you the history of Singapore by various exhibitions, historic objects and many audio clippings.

Marvelous exhibitions at the SAM at 8Q, an extension of the Singapore Art Museum! Located at the heart of the city, the SAM at 8Q features a lot of unique, creative and eye-catching contemporary art exhibitions about Singapore. Also, there are several interactive activities that are targeted at kids. So it's a great place for family outing! Be ready to have a fascinating visit to the SAM at 8Q!
Art films presented at SAM 8Q on the Eve of night festival were brilliant! SAM hosts one of the finest display shows on its building during nigh fest. One should Not miss it.
Although the exhibition hall is small in scale.

8Q Singapore Art Musuem is one of my favourite place in Singapore! With their creative, innovative and interactive installation and art works on display...promising hours of entertainment for the family. I am very grateful for the staffs at the musuem for this wonderful place. Definitely a place to check out constantly!

You can see some artistic videos which are shown as artworks, and also some very contemporary conception and representatiom of different arts. It worths to pay a visit if you like arts especially cinematic arts. But if you just want to see some fine arts, you would need to wait for opening of the other galleries.
The main museum was nearly closed, probably under renovation.There was only a free exhibition there showing the museum history. I don't know why the art museum of such a developed state would be nearly closed anytime!

Great for kids and adults alike with plenty of exhibits that educate and engage. The interactive exhibits are popular. The little cinema on L2 plays short animated films that are rather well made.
