I love this airport. The staff are so friendly, it's usually not that busy and the age gives it character. Good selection of lounges, shopping and restaurants. Everything works efficiently and with a smile.
Unfortunately not a good experience.

- Baggage counters didn't open until 2hr20 before the flight leaving a lot of people waiting.

- I was told due to my late booking I wouldn't have a meal, so I filled up on food in the lounge, then when I got on the plane a meal was there for me.

- I was then asked to sign agreement that I was okay not to have my meal (legal). No thanks! Its part of the package.

- The lounge was so cold I had to wear a duck down jacket in there.

Nice airport to be in, feels more like a shopping center. But silly problems.
If you are boarding a flight here after 1030pm just remember there's no cafe, bar nothing once you cross security. Only vending machines that too only cold drinks not hot. It's as good as haunted.

Not sure if T2 is equally bad but hope not.

No seating as well, the corridor narrow like a train. Designed to drive you into the gates. You are forced to go into the gate holding area.

Inside the holding area the seating is far less than aircraft capacity so if you are not early, be ready to stand!

Why have flights if everything is closed?! Just stop them at 1030 too!

Worst I've ever seen and let me tell you I've been to fairly large number of third world airports including those in India in socialist days.

Taiwan is such a nice country with active night life literally doesn't sleep at all...this airport terminal is a sad thing to have.
Always a great experience as nowhere else. Great people around the whole country. Just a perfect place where to stay in any part of the day or life. This airport is providing the world's highest standards and the staff is still nice, kind, helpful, and ready to assist you at all times. Taiwan number one💪🚀 Thank you 😍
Taiwan Taiyuan International Airport overall is very spacious and clean. Stopped in for a layover en route to Bangkok. During arrival, everything was a speedy process through security. However, I do wish wayfinding was easier to find and access. The online maps don't show updated lounges and restaurants. There are money exchangers conveniently located after pickup up your bags. Many food shops, Tax free and restaurant, however hours vary.
Take advantage of Lego, Sanrio and kids play areas to blow off steam and energy before a long flight.
The queue so slow moving with a pillar blocking the other lane for immigration. Poor children crying as so tired after flight .
The airport is actually huge. We had a connecting flight and walk to the new terminal took us about 15 minutes.
Plenty of duty free stores, many open 24/7, water filling stations are along the way and plenty of restaurants for every taste.
Fast and smooth travel..no questions asked just show your passport and re entry ...i came at 12 midnight no more bus and train but there is taxi or you can stay and sleep until 6am if you don't want to spend expensive taxi rate 😁.
The airport overall is good, very spacious and clean. During arrival, everything was a speedy process. I do wish the customs officer was a bit friendlier. There are money exchangers conveniently located after pickup up your bags. Fast forward a few days ahead, we were back for departure. Check in was unfortunately slow because the MAS staff only arrived 20 minutes later. Once we checked in our bags, we wanted to look for some food. From the signage that we see, most of the food is located at the food court downstairs. Lots of stalls including bigger brands such as Burger King. Unfortunately no Halal and Vegan options to be seen. The main terminal looks modern and pretty, but the departure terminal looks so outdated, like a bus terminal. I don’t understand why they have so many entrances to the departure terminal when in the end they all connect to the same large departure hall. Lots of info have there especially such as a convenience store and not just two drink vending machines.
What struck me with the Taipei Taoyuan airport is how simple but clean it is. Not a lot of food options but very quaint. Not a lot of chairs so that can be an improvement.

A lot of available water fountains is also a must have in any good airport, and TPE has a lot of this.

Pretty quaint and plain and simple, but a decent airport.
🌟Highlights:
- Exceptional service and professional staff.
- Clear instructions and friendly assistance for travelers.
- Excellent lounge offering a wide variety of food and drink choices.

I had been to 10+ airports around the world, and I must say that this airport is highly underrated! The service provided was exceptional. The staff was professional and provided clear instructions. Even if you had trouble finding your way, the people here were incredibly kind and friendly, willing to help you with directions and even accompany you along the way.

In addition to the exceptional service, the lounge at this airport was excellent. It offered a wide variety of food and drink choices, ranging from delicious local Taiwanese cuisine to a diverse selection of international dishes.
This airport provided free Wifi, comfort seats, and comfort place for all passengers. Just like the other airports in other countries. But they provide very limited food choices.
This is one of the nicest airport I have been to. They have thought a lot about the passengers when designing this place. They have allocated a lot of spaces for transit passengers with many seating places. In some spaces, charging spots are available. There is also a library space where u can freely work with the laptops. I had a 8 hr transit here, but it was easy to spend the time because of the facilities. If u want to take a shower, there are free shower rooms close to the foot court.
One of the best airports in Asia, in terms of facilities and amenities.
It is clean, convenient and friendly.
I am sure there are thousands of photos showing terminals and food stalls but I wanted to share pictures of prayer locations.
Next to gate C3 is the Muslim prayer hall which houses two prayer room for couple of families. It also has a place to store your shoes and do your 'wudu'.
This airport is amazing. It’s clean, modern, artistic, has video games, computers, library, free literature, everyone who works there is friendly, and by doing all of this it highlights how so many other airports are lacking. I can’t wait for my next 13 hour layover at Taiwan’s Taiyuan International airport!!
I hope they have 24/7 Public Bus transportation. Unless you have to wait at the airport for many hours.

Yes, they have taxis, but quite expensive for someone like me who is travelling with a tight budget.
