Compass's group therapy approach fosters a sense of belonging and camaraderie, promoting a deeper understanding that individuals are not alone in their struggles. It allows participants to build meaningful connections, form friendships, and create a network of ongoing support beyond PHP and IOP.

The group sessions at Compass are carefully designed to address a wide range of mental health challenges, ensuring that individuals can find a supportive community relevant to their specific needs. Compass values diversity and inclusivity. Their team of therapists represents a range of backgrounds, and they foster an environment that celebrates individual differences and cultural sensitivity.
This place is HORRIBLE !!! I’ve had an appointment set for 2:15 pm TODAY ! Here now it’s 5:44 !! And NO CALL !!! I’ve been told MULTIPLE times after MULTIPLE CALLS !! that I would be reached out to, nobody ever called me back. Smh .. even my first visit I had gotten a late call like 1-2 hours AFTER the “scheduled appointment” & now this time it’s been over 3-4 hours 😭 im growing impatient, this company has some serious room for improvement !! Seriously .
One remarkable aspect of Compass is their commitment to continuously expanding their program offerings. They go above and beyond to ensure that individuals have access to a diverse range of mental health resources and services.

Their dedication to expanding their program is driven by a deep understanding of the unique needs and challenges individuals face. Compass actively seeks out new modalities, techniques, and approaches to address a wide range of mental health concerns.
The worst hospital in the world. Watch the documentary on Netflix about MAYA and all the other families and you will understand why. They are shameful. They destroyed more than one family. Justice for Beata !

The therapists and psychologist are very kind, professional, and understanding.

The only problem I have had is they don't answer their phones very often when called, even though I never see the receptionist busy when I go in.
They are only assassins and they torment and kill their people. Justice for maya, ban dr sally smith and others forever!
JUSTICE FOR THE HOWALSKY FAMILY AND FOR OTHERS ! YOU HAVE TO PAY

Disgusting, terrible people.. Justice for Beata and Maya and their family.
The youth works was supposed to do summer work there and somehow it's not happening now. They are not for the community.
THIS HOSPITAL DESERVES NO STARS …… JUSTICE FOR BEATA & MAYA !!!!!!!
Compass Health Center is an oasis in times of turmoil and struggle. If you are seeking collaborative and comprehensive mental health care for yourself or a loved one, Compass truly empowers their patients with the skills necessary to living an emotionally and mentally healthy life.

From the moment you walk through the front doors, you're greeted with a welcoming atmosphere and a compassionate staff that hears, respects, and supports their patients through their individual mental health journey. The dynamic range of services they provide for children, adolescents, and adults are effective, evidence-based, and individualized for every single patient that they serve.

It cannot be overstated the impact Compass has had on their patients and their continued dedication to the mental health of their community.
I am incredibly proud to share my first-hand experiences of the profound impact Compass Health Center’s Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Psychiatry services have had in Illinois. Whether through our in-person or virtual platforms, the transformative changes we witness daily in our patients' lives is both humbling and inspiring.

One of the defining qualities of Compass's PHP/IOP is our ability to deliver compassionate, customized, and evidence-based care in a non-hospital setting. This model allows patients to remain engaged with their home and community, fostering vital connections that contribute to more effective long-term outcomes. Our beautiful facilities, such as the one at Northbrook, are designed to provide an environment that is warm and welcoming- even the space itself is designed to support our patients on their paths forward.

The care offered at Compass Health Center is wide-ranging and comprehensive, catering to individuals ages 5 and up. Our multidisciplinary services include a variety of therapy options, such as group, individual, family, and art therapy. We also provide crucial psychiatric services like medication management and adherence. Our Psychiatrists, Nurse Practitioners and Clinical experts- are among the best around and I trust deeply in the work they do for our patients and their families.

One aspect we take immense pride in is our commitment to speed to care. We strive to assess patients on the same day or next day following initial contact. This prompt response helps people avoid unnecessary waiting periods in the emergency room and ensuring patients receive timely care means that you or your loved one will have an increased clinical outcomes.

Our expert team, is adept at managing various specialties. Whether it's mood & anxiety, trauma, OCD, bipolar disorder, school refusal, or the coexistence of mental health and substance use issues, our team is prepared to provide exceptional care.

Compass Health Center shines brightly in the realm of mental health care, not only in Northbrook but across all of our locations including Chicago, Oak Brook and virtually available throughout all of Illinois. We distinguish ourselves with our swift response, expert-level treatment, and remarkable flexibility. Our PHP and IOP programs are tailored to those who require more support than what traditional outpatient therapy offers, making it a suitable option for those transitioning from a residential or inpatient treatment setting, or for those who need more frequent therapeutic contact and medication management to support their mental health.

Compass Health Center exemplifies the power of comprehensive, patient-centered mental health care. We bridge the gap between outpatient and inpatient treatment, providing a safety net for those who may otherwise be underserved in the traditional healthcare system. PHP and IOP are transformative solutions that deserve much more attention.

If you or a loved one is considering a PHP/IOP program, Compass Health Center, with its in-person and virtual programs throughout Illinois, receives my highest recommendation. Here, you will find more than just support; you'll find an empathetic, professional, and dedicated team committed to your wellbeing and mental health advancement.

Our programs at Compass offer a highly personalized, comprehensive approach to mental health care. This profound dedication to assisting patients in their personal growth and change truly makes a difference. As part of this incredible team, I have seen the extraordinary impact we have had on the lives of those we serve. I am confident that you too will appreciate the high quality of care and enduring support you receive at Compass Health Center.
The worst place! Kayla, Dr. Nissel’s assistant is incredibly disrespectful, unprofessional and unqualified to serve as a doctor’s assistant. She called me to confirm an appointment and in her voicemail said “call back to confirm whenever you can”. I called back to confirm two days in a row and left voicemails. She then yelled at me that I should have called before 3 PM because that’s when she leaves the office. My appointment didn’t happen. Kayla needs to be fired. If you’re reading this, please be aware that a class action lawsuit is being organized.
Compass Health Center truly provides the community with high levels of mental health care. The Compass team is nurturing, caring, and goes above and beyond to ensure that each individual is met with support and kindness. At Compass you will receive exceptional treatment that makes a difference.
Absolute DISASTER of a company. I’ve been with them before the pandemic and reaching them has NEVER gotten better. Didn’t see my therapist for a while, called to try to set up appointments, and they never called me back. I’ve been calling everyday for the last 10 days and they still haven’t gotten back to me, even when I asked to see a supervisor. For someone with adhd, setting up appointments or anything else with them is an absolute NIGHTMARE. For a company that claims to care about mental health, they sure don’t show it in their responsiveness with their patients.
I only will write a bad review for an incompetent company. Unless you are forced to deal with Compass Health, AVOID THEM. They do not adhere to their scheduling. So don’t be surprised if the time they tell you is not correct. They don’t tell you when you owe money until you ask them. I need refills for medication which I’ve gotten filled twice. Been trying to contact them for 5 days now to request a refill and once I finally got connected she tells me about a 60 dollar copay I need to do every phone call that they refill my prescription. This was not once said to me or charged the previous two times. They say my card on file hasn’t worked( all my cards have no changed and work fine). So when we’re they going to let me know about this???? Prob never. AVOID USING COMPSS HEALTH. You’ll save yourself a lot of stress and annoyance which I figure is key to people who come there to help with their mental health

They keep putting people with the worst behavioral issues in nice communities with working individuals and families. I'm all for community integration but these clients have co dependent disorders. Behavioral issues and substance abuse. They need to house these people in their own facilities instead of community. I'm sure they management are substance users too.
I have been to Compass in Northbrook three times and had an AMAZING experience every time. It's very skill-based and group-oriented. I've been to several other PHP programs in the area, but Compass is the one that has truly helped me integrate coping skills into my daily life to deal with my depression, anxiety, and substance use. Any treatment center can be overwhelming at first, especially when the treatment model is heavy in skills, but I've learned more healthy and effective ways to handle my symptoms. Thank you to Compass and my entire care team for helping me live my life again - with confidence that I have the tools and knowledge to do so.

This was once a great psychiatric practice before the pandemic. Currently, I wouldn’t recommend anyone to come here it looks like a ghost town with barely anything going on. One doctor on hand seeing all the patients. I had a 9:30 appt I decided to just walk out.
I have been going here since I was a child, that’s 20 years!!!!! And today enough is enough. Welcome to compass health where you never hear from your doctor when you really need them and don’t expect to get those refills you need either!!! It’s been weeks after my appointment and still no refill on one of my medications that have serious withdrawals. I’ve gone 1 whole week without even after I reached out to these people numerous times. THEY DON’T CARE!! But I do so please take this warning and find somewhere else!

Compass was incredible. I cannot sing there praises enough. Incredible communication, companionate and dedicated staff, loving, fun and safe environment. Every time I drove the 45 minutes to therapy, I knew it was worth it. I would have driven 3 hours for their help. My son's improvement was almost instantaneous. Their diagnosis was lightning quick and treatment started immediately. I am not exaggerating when I say it was a life changing experience. I can't imagine where we would be without their intervention.
This program has a lot of unprofessional, unorganized group of case workers who do not stand on what they say when it comes to meeting the client's housing needs. I would not recommend this program even to another black person coming from another state fr 💯
My visit was 1/19/2023. I read the reviews prior, crossed my fingers and hoped my experience would turn out different. Unfortunately it did not! The entire visit was confusing, the staff was confused, the provider I saw presented unaware, blank. Every detail mentioned in every review is 100% accurate. The facility should immediately be shut down. This location is not capable of providing health care of any sort to anyone. I will be the patient who takes the next step beyond writing this review and contact the department of health. I pay for access to health care not incompetence and compliancy. You are encourage to seek care else where.

The doctor was ignorant. Dr. uses personal questions to create emotional responses to easily diagnose patients doctor also caused me to have anxiety attack. After leaving the appointment.
Had a great experience with Dr. Sheena Spurlock and her staff. I had all kinds of issues with the teledoc (user error) but they worked after hours to get me on the call. I'm excited about continuing to work with them.
I've had to sit on hold for an extreme amount of time because of an issue with every single appointment I've had with these people. Multiple times they have just forgotten to call in prescriptions entirely. As I write this I have been on hold for 30 minutes... they are also consistently late for appointments. The only way to get someone on the phone in under 30 minutes is to press 1 for new patient but as soon as they know your not a new patient, they transfer you to a line that takes your info for a "call back" but I have NEVER been called back... this place is going to drive me to go inpatient
Well I was a patient and let me tell you after the Corona everything was virtual and on the phone and I well kept my appointments by phone. And come to know that since May of 21 until 9:00-22 they were doing appointments and all that time I have Medicaid when I started with them and from May 2021 we're seeing me and in October of this year they tell me that my Medicaid wasn't paying All this time I started with them they could have seen the first time of the second mind you that they were in charge of Medicaid and now they're putting me in collections saying I owe them All this time I'm going there and they're calling me for the appointments and they need to charge my insurance and now they want me to pay this amount of money they are ridiculous they need to be put out of business and this needs to be dealt with seeing people and then not charging their insurance and then trying to make the people pay out of their pocket it is
Had I knew years ago. I would not have came to this program. My family has experience so many traumas and Community connections have not been a support. I've asked for and emergency move in April and its now December. There is not therapy for my kids and I. And no real case management. Be careful when housing give you a project based vocher smh
Worst mental health facility in Dade county. Horrible logistics and nobody answers the phone when you call. Nobody responds to emails. And the psychiatrists barely spend 5 minutes with you on the webcam call. An you get assigned a different random Doctor each month so you cannot even build a rapport with one Doctor.

Choose another provider, this place gives low quality of service and the Doctors treat you like cattle. Zero empathy or concern for their patients.

UPDATE: This corrupt office is using bots that post fake reviews. Just read how vague and similar so many reviews are and how devoid of any description of the diagnosis and so forth. Trust me, this place is a clown-show and offers a low caliber of care. Make this place your LAST choice. Try ANY other place first, before Compass Health.

These clowns dont listen or validate my concerns and just want to increase the dosage on the same old medicine that is not working. 2 pills dont work? Take 3. 3 dont work? Take 4! That is their hare-brained approach.

I have been trying to reach Community Connections for weeks now in relation to a product. I've left messages on various voicemails, the central voicemail service, I've left emails to a number of employees, and I've tried to be routed through the operator to no avail (I can never get through to the operator, billing, or any other service). I finally ordered the product without getting in touch with anyone, and now I can't get a hold of them to discuss my order. This has been, by far, the most frustrating experience I have ever had in ordering a clinical product from any distributor.
Incredibly unprofessional. I have had a back-to-back appointments canceled by the doctor with zero warning or alert that I had to call into and find out for myself that they were canceled. This office will lie to you and say that they called leaving you with new co-pays for consultations that never happened and no prescription continuation for medication which may be required for you to function in your day-to-day life. Practice is an absolute soulless joke with zero care for the client. If you value your mental health and don't want to get stuck 2 to 4 weeks without any medication having to start over seek better help elsewhere.

If you're a medical practitioner hiring compass for answering services their agents are outright rude and offer next to no follow-up often transferring you to just another agent it's the Comcast support of healthcare.
If you have a doctors referral for a child of special needs be ready to be put on the waitlist for a couple of years.
I made an appointment for my child last week Thurs with a doctor Michelle Desouza via telemedicine. It was 30 minutes past the appointment time and I called to inquire if the appointment was still going to happen. I was told by the answering service that the doctor was running a couple of hours behind and that the appointment was still going to happen and for us to answer any calls from numbers that we don't recognize because it would be the doctor. We waited and there was no call from the doctor or the office to say that the appointment was cancelled on their end and for us to reschedule at the very least because we understand things happen. We did not get any call, it was like the appointment didn't even happen. I called the next day which was Fri to again inquire about what happened with the appointment and no answer was provided. It was like the appointment never existed and that is very unprofessional and unkind. We are working parents and had to make adjustments in our schedule and for them not to even call the next day to say anything at that point was disrespectful. I asked to speak with a supervisor and I was told Anna would call me back within 24- 48 hours and guess what? I am at the 72 hour window with no call back from this so called imaginary supervisor after calling for the 3rd day since the dropped appointment. I took the time to write this long review of the poor service from the doctor and the so call supervisor. The message I am getting here is my kid and his needs are not important. He is very important and worth the time and care from the right doctor. I will say everyone that has answered the phones at compass health have been pleasant and helpful- they I can say are doing their jobs. I will never ever recommend this facility to anyone. I see now why the review is 2.8. That should have been my first clue, shame on me for looking past those low ratings.
Eyo Cierre mAh puzzle girl from knect fo just checking inn. Turns out Fedric was Ken Dara in Marin was Volker. "Really issued" Kendall Dar Adal. Guess it was a Marin Luxury Home Contract. Big circular puzzle.
This organization reeks of fraud. They are stealing from clients. All these reviews with five stars are from employees and clients that got gift cards for making a five star review. DC needs to investigate ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This place needs an audit done. If an audit was to be done they would no longer exist!!!!!!!!! If you are thinking about donating to this organization- don’t do it! If you are thinking about working for them- don’t do it. Seriously- do not affiliate yourself with this organization at all! The supervisors and directors change the notes at the end of the month to reflect services rendered just to meet billing so they can get money! This is a janky organization with supervisors and directors who are committing fraud and stealing from clients!!!!!
This was the WORST experience with a mental health provider I've ever had. I was relieved to find a clinic that took Medicaid because I was desperately in need of a psychiatrist for ongoing medication management. When I started with the nurse practitioner, things were going well and I really thought we connected and that she wasn't just another pill-pusher. However, no one told me that she was only available Thursdays and Fridays (not even full days most of the time) and that there was NO back up support at all for emergencies. I was hospitalized and could not get anyone there to help me-- the doctors at GW and I called her and the clinic several times over several days. No one escalated my request even though it was clearly an emergency. No one was able to support me and so I had to wait until she was back "online" nearly a week later. Both the nurse and clinic were defensive and offered weak apologies. Furthermore, the nurse was extremely rude in our final call and acted like we had not previously talked about refilling the meds that I was put on in the hospital-- in fact, she had never offered any good solutions in the 5+ weeks I worked with her besides putting me on yet another Rx that did nothing (I had made it clear that I was very unhappy with being on so many meds to begin with, that weren't doing a good job managing my bipolar II disorder). I understand how much pressure mental health services are under, especially during COVID. But this experience made my anxiety and stress so much worse, and Community Connections should be held accountable for their extremely poor level of care. If you can possibly avoid them, do so.
They have gotten better. I've been with them since 2013. Changing my rating from 1 star to five star.
Small Landlords: DO NOT work with this organization. It’s likely they will provide you with a tenant that isn’t able to properly take care of your property or themselves, commits multiple lease violations, and harasses the community. They are only responsible for placing the individual in a home and WILL NOT find alternate living accommodations for the tenant unless the tenant is evicted. This is counterproductive of one of their goals, which is to prevent homelessness. Although they do provide mental health services, the tenant can decline and you will be left to deal with the fallback; in our case an unruly tenant with MULTIPLE VISITS FROM LAW ENFORCEMENT. I can only speak on our encounters, but working with Community Connections has been a nightmare.
I am currently a tenant at 4715 Texas Ave Se apt buildings. Community Connection’s has been steady declining in their housing department, when I first moved in to this apartment building 6 years ago they had more people that cared about the building up keep and the tenants concerns, but now they seem not to care about who moves in to the buildings or maintenance issues. Last week I contacted Community Connection Housing department because my refrigerator wasn’t working and making a beeping sound, they had me wait all the way till Tuesday of this week to send the repairman out to check the status of my fridge, which was a waste of time when they had the resident manager of my apartment to check my fridge while he talked to them on the phone and let them know that the fridge was inoperable. The repairman was very unprofessional all he did was take a look in the fridge and then left , he did nothing to fix the problem. So once again I have contacted the housing department to inform them that my fridge is still not working and they tell me that the repairman can’t come out until Saturday afternoon, mind you today is Thursday. When I complained that my food was going to go bad , they told me that I could leave my food in the fridge that is located in the community room, when I didn’t agree with that they tried to threaten the fact that if my food did go bad that they would not be held responsible to replace my food or compensate me for my food because they propositioned me with that offer to leave my food in the community room, to which I would only have access to when the resident manager is home!! I find this very degrading that they think that this is reasonable! I told them that I will be contacting my lawyer and that I will be informing my lawyer of their actions. I refuse to talk to them anymore and any problems that I have I will be having my lawyer contact them with any further issues or complaints that I may have concerning their incompetent behavior. I am done with their lack of concern for my maintenance issues..
Horrible service. They routinely book appointments without notifying the patient of the time. Then they call on unknown numbers at random times and bill you for missing appointments. Absolutely ridiculous. I have no idea how these people are still in business.

On top of that, I submitted insurance and was told I couldn't schedule an appointment until had a referal. I was running out of meds, so I asked to just book an appointment without insurance (to pay out of pocket, like I had been until I submitted the info 2 months prior). I was refused and told it was not possible. Apparently they'll refuse paying customers. I wish it was possible to give less then one star.
They refused my finance ADHD mental health counseling just because of his felony record! That's discrimination. They didn't give him his ten dollars back from the assessment either! Well be contacting the Attorney General or a lawyer! Zero stars!
