Are you guys ok? Why aren't you guys answering the phone? Where's my counselor?

I had a negative experience in the past. After covid, things definitely got better. They were accommodating, friendly and organized.

I made a claim in April and I still have not been assigned a counselor or received any correspondence from the office. I have left several messages and no call back. I decided to go to the office in person four months later and according to security they don’t take walk-ins and they close at 3 vs 4, which is advertised. I was given a paper to call to make an appointment and guess what, no one answered. No one deserves this poor customer service especially not a disabled veteran. National Capitol Region Office you have to do better.

My wife and I visited our NYC Consulate this afternoon (8/9/2023) to get Certifications that we are Philippine Pensioners This is a requirement of the US SSS as we are applying for our uS Pensions.
Your Front Office staff of ERWIN and his partner were very courteous and helpful.BUT really we got extremely Super Customer Help from your SSS Representative, Ms. CELENIA DIMAANO. She was very pleasant, patient and helpful to all of us who were needing her help. My wife and I were very blessed and impressed with her “ Spirit” to help until our visit/ Purpose was completed. She is a Role Model of Philippine Government Service. Thank you so much Ms. DIMAANO. Thank you very much Philippine Consulate! Nakakatuwa kayong lahat.

Still open and is 100% a Veteran’s affair facility.

Fast document pick-up, friendly and accommodating staff.

Everybody in the building was very helpful. The processing was also quick and efficient. Getting an appointment beforehand made everything run more smoothly.

Terrible administration. You people have no respect for veterans and their disabilities and claims. Shame on every single deceitful person working for the VA and those connected to it whatsoever. You are a disgrace to this country and everything it represents.

Horrible organization and perhaps the most despicable on earth!

THE REGIONAL OFFICE ON HOUSTON STREET IS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND COURTEOUS. VERY CONCERNED WORKERS WHAT A PLEASURE

I am a veteran of the us army from 1978 - 1982 and since I really started to use the VA I have nothing but with VA about 2 years I have lied to ignore an down right by the VA an the quality of of medical care I was given is on the same level as what a veterinary doctor would give his animal patients the overall medical services given to me is appalling an disgraceful I believe the secretary of the VA should look into an made aware of what goes on the the VA hospital and outpatient clinic an investigation should be conducted by the VA an disciplinary actions should taken an enforced by the VA

Unlike what website said This regional Office does not do in person identity verification. Don't waste you time going there.

Our first time to go here and renew a passport, all was organized. Appointment must be booked online. Staff are respectful and nice. Wait time is not that much long but it was smooth that we finished less than 30 minutes as long as all documents required are complete.

If I could give no stars I would. I’ve personally been trying to reach a VR&E counselor all month. The last two weeks have been people calling me back and forth trying to figure out who my counselor will be. The longer it takes means the more months I’m out of school, missing paperwork deadlines, etc. it’s crazy you can fight for this country and get the most horrible service in return.

My issue was addressed in a very timely manner and I was in and out in record time! Many thanks to Miss Crone at the front desk on the 4th floor.

Why can't VA offer more disability pay inflation is not helping

Was there to get my dual, i think it was quick, right on time and organized.. as long as you make an appointment, you'll be fine. The one processed my papers was very nice and very efficient. The only things is the place definitely need an upgrade , they need to spruce it up coz it looks like an old muggy office in the PI. The lobby looks nice but needs to have a lounge or chairs for waiting

I never been to the capital regional office but I can tell you from my experience that NONE OF THE REGIONAL MEMBERS HAVE ENOUGH SENSE TO DRIVE HOME BY THIERSELF. sorry to say THE English language is not in thier format it must come space. I've had to many excuses and run arounds until it's a shame to be a Veteran.

Good experience.

🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤧

It took more than a month to get an appointment maybe because of the pandemic. Almost everywhere nowadays is struggling with staffing. Smooth process while there. Helpful staff.

BLU: Do not go to the building and refer to picture. They are not open for walk-ins. The National office could not find their phone number and I had to drive down and get told I can’t go in to the building and was handed this paper. I hope this saves somebody the time and effort of going to DC.

I had an appointment with DAV. Security was very professional. I met with my DAV rep and receptionist who escorted me upstairs. Parking was difficult because of Washington DC traffic. So I had to double Park, the staff was very understanding and said they would watch out for my vehicle so I don't get a ticket, while I complete my paperwork concerning my disability. Overall they were kind, professional and very quick. My experience 1 out of 5 definitely five. Thank you

I came here in NYC to renew my passport. Everyone in the Philippine Consulate General was so accommodating. The greeters are prompt and they gave clear instructions right away. They were also thoughtful and allowed my husband and baby to enter the building as it was about to rain. Their team is made up of kind and helpful Filipino people. The ones working for passport services were as efficient as well. They helped me and made sure I have everything settled before leaving. I am glad I found this place and will most likely recommend to others.

Don't tell them anything you don't want the VA to know about. There's no confidentiality here. If you do, the VA will know about it before you get to your next appointment!

Visited on today 5/6/21, to get se help.with sorting out my claim. Fue to Covid the office hrs are 9am to 1pm and all interactions are via video chat with the exception of reception. Save yourself the trip and book an appt on line it's would be the same thing.

I've been permanent and total for 10 years now. I'm only 34. I've finally found some people who understand and are helping me make cognitive changes instead of a laundry list of pills. They understand here. They get it.

I have receiving services at the St. Albans Veteran’s Administration since 1972.. The services I have been receiving since 2000 have absolutely wonderful. The lab services in particular are commendable. For over ten years Mrs. Sukoo has been drawing my blood and she is really good. She connects on the first try, has a pleasant demeanor and I have a aimless experience. The experience is so pleasant that I felt compelled to write this review.

attention veterans!!! Don't do anything with the VA without the DAV power of attorney or another veteran representative service !!!!!

Had a hearing in May 2019 for a claim appeal. The facility was secure and the entire staff excellent. I was treated with respect and no one was unkind. The hearing was conducted in such manner that all my concerns were honesty heard. I feel confident in the process and whatever the outcome, that law will govern and every effort will be made to honor the Veterans plight in resolve.

After reading some comments I felt it was my duty as a fellow veteran to be transparent as well. What a horrible experience! Where do I start... smh. So I live all the way out in Yonkers so I had to drive all the way down to the only vocal rehab available for me at a great distance. A place that's so inconvenient along with a regular va 800 number where the wait time is ages, was my first red flag. This shows us vets they do not want to be bothered or even spend money on a call service area. Upon arrival for appointment, I was waiting for an hour pass my appt time and wondered either I was not going into someone else appt time or we ALL had the same appt time. There were no chairs waiting at the front door, mind you, most of us are disabled veterans. Myself with back and bilateral foot problems along with disc problems. No chairs even when we went upstairs to fill out a packet, we waited in line. Once I spoke to a representative, I have never in my life felt so offended and spoken to in a condescending way. My counselor was sort of in training but her mentor was horrible. She spoke as if she was better than me and made better choices in life than me. ( Vanessa Carlton - A Thousand Miles song in my head smh). If I cannot call the office itself shows me a lot about helping us vets. Try to avoid this place at all cost, literally and figuratively.

Unprofessional and you wait hours when noone is there

Very respectful professions compassionate people.

Worst unprofessional system is the United States. Waste of government money! Kindergarden can do a better job.

Unfortunately Secretary Robert Wilkie has approved the use of Dog's in experiments to be conducted by the VA. This is inhumane and Dog's do NOT produce results for humane medicine. It's outdated, ineffective and cruel.

Was told to call to get help with a VA Claim. Representative told me I did not have a claim. Filed it my self and won.

Worst experience dealing with this organization. Called them to ask some simple questions about VA benefits, they said someone will get back to me in 10 DAYS! which is ridiculous by itself, when the woman called me on that date she sounded like she really didn't care and was not helpful at all so a big waste of my time and peoples tax dollars. I hope they don't treat Veterans like this who are really in need.

Not sure about other offices in this building but the Vocational Rehab counselors are very unreliable. They reassure you that they will pretty much have your back and keep their end of the "contract" as long as you keep yours. Except! They really dont have to meet the promises they've made or information they have provided to you because there isnt any consequences for their mistakes... I have only been in the program for two months and I am already dissapointed. My emails never get answered unless I call (after waiting at least two weeks for a response). I was told incorrect information that made a huge difference in my studies and I found it difficult to trust the counselor that was provided to me. He was very uninformed and just pretty much "winged" the process... I should have stayed with the gi bill honestly. I had more resources and more control over those resources. Rather then having to BEG my counselor for help. It's disgusting.

Before today I'd never been to the VA. I've heard horror stories about long wait times, rude people, etc. And I understand it could've been the time of day (it was 10am on a Monday, so doubtful) or what I was there for, but my experience was nothing but positive. From the moment I stepped in that building to when I walked out, everyone was friendly and helpful. I was greeted with a smile, and the receptionist was courteous and efficient. I rarely write reviews but I felt that people should know it's not all that bad.

I am so happy that I can finally speak of my time in the Army with other vets and to professional staff. I feel a sense of belonging here.

The terrible do you want to 22 veterans to kill themselves every day. Im tired of fighting I’ve been fighting stage four cancer for over two years they drop Me, claims like a hot potato they don’t care they want us to die

I have been going here, my coordinator doesn't reach back to me, barely response to emails, once she does she forgets what she stated. I ask if she received my email by a call (if I get through) she says let me check. That means she never looked at it and she is reading it out loud while I am on the phone. They ask for info, I send in email, and it is never responded too, because it is not read or I have to call. I have not even been paid from one of the assignments I was on, it has been almost a year. I have requested info from her and the job but no avail. I did get an email in the summer stating she was sorry for not getting back and would like to schedule a phone meeting on a certain day tues or thurs or something.. .I replied to the email and said YES! I asked do you want me to call or you are going to call me? Again no response. No call, No email, I sent a reply stating, again no change, no response from you. I DO NOT recommend her... Ms. Johnson... Seek out Reginald...he responds better for sure. Oh I had an intern help me when I first enrolled, she was responding then Poof, nothing... her time was up and no one bothered to let me know and emails were in space, and calls to nowhere.

New to the area but it looks like they’ve recently done some renovations. Nice location, good hourly parking on street and plenty of garages in the area (although most were full) at 11a. Everyone from security to service representatives were professional and helpful.

I walked into this office to simply ask about getting a copy of my DD-214 or a letter of service. 15 minutes later I was given 2 copies of a Letter of service and the application form all highlighted to get a DD-214. They answered all my questions and were extremely helpful. I was satisfied with my visit. I didn’t call them, I just walked in.
The NY division of Veterans Affairs on Chambers was completely useless to me. They wasted 20 minutes of my time just to tell me they couldn’t give me a letter of service and to go online to get a DD-214.
I’ll be back if I need something else.

This place is just awful. They first guy meet was on the phone taking what sounded like a personal call. He then points me off to another lady. She apparently can’t help and tells me to wait for another guy.
I tell these three people that I’m looking to get a copy of my DD-214 or a letter of service. It’s not until they have me fill out this 2 page form, that they don’t to that there. Completely useless. The first guy could have told me that.
Instead I went to the Regional office on Houston St and they were extremely helpful. I got what I needed and more in less than 20 minutes.
Don’t expect much from this office.

Great place to feel at home and relax. Plenty of group options in the evening and during the day. Plus some counselors' are available in the evening and on Saturdays! Manhattan VA Hospital doesn't offer this many options fo counselors availability in the evening or on the weekend. Ask for Mr. Rodriguez (Director) or Ms. Zerger who can point you in the right direction.

Great facility for vets in the lower Manhattan area. Plenty of space to relax, play video games, or chat with the veterans on staff.

Phone's never answered. Wait time is ridiculous. Parking sucks. WOW! Has the DAV changed. They've gone from helping the average vet to turning them away. There was a time when they genuinely cared about vets. Now it appears they're the ones we're fighting against.
