We had been coming here since they first opened…the food quality and service was definitely much better in the beginning but Yoshi always remained our go to for Shabu. Unfortunately this will no longer be the case. The last few visits we had here were disappointing. After Covid, like with many restaurants we noticed they did downgrade the quality of their offerings. For example, the vegetables went from a large plate overflowing with Napa cabbage, enoki mushrooms, spinach, etc. Now the vegetables are given in a small bowl and no longer include enoki mushroom. We understand that the economy is different and changes have to be made to ensure businesses can still thrive. The vegetables are supposed to be unlimited but after asking for a second portion at our last visit we kept getting the run around by every employee, no less than 5 ppl including the owner. They kept telling us that they had unfortunately ran out and someone was in the back prepping them. After waiting over 30min for our veggie refill we finally gave up and wrapped up our meal w/o them. We just figured it was bad luck/timing until we noticed that all the tables around us had been given veggies. If you ran out, how is it possible everyone else who came after had plenty? If the cost to give unlimited veggies is keeping you from providing them, why not just charge for them? Instead of giving us the run around and leaving us feeling like we did not get the full satisfactory meal that we paid for? Even after leaving our last few visits not fully satisfied with the customer service we were given, we still gave them the benefit of the doubt and decided to book a birthday dinner here this past weekend. Knowing we would have a big party, we booked the private room one week in advance. They contacted us twice during the week to confirm, which we did. Then on the day of the party someone called 30min before our reservation to say that we could not have the private room anymore and would have to sit out in the regular dining room. There was no apology or explanation. Just simply the owner gave it to someone else. If the room was not available, why were we contacted twice during the week to confirm and no one said anything about it not being available? If for some reason the room was double booked, they should’ve handled the situation with more empathy and customer service. But instead they gave the impression they did not care if we came or not. So we told them to go ahead and cancel the reservation and took our party elsewhere. There are far too many other establishments out there that provide better customer service and value their patrons money and time.

The owner, Josh, is beyond amazing. He’s so caring and friendly that he makes you feel like part of his family. He always ensures things are kept clean, organized and delicious. As a fellow business owner, I know how much hard work and dedication goes into running a successful team and business. My family and I will forever support Yoshi because they bring us a taste of Japan and give us an amazingly friendly experience from start to finish. It also helps that the food is awesome. We’re grateful that such a high quality restaurant exists in our area. Thanks to all on Team Yoshi ❤️

I made a reservation here to treat my friends to lunch.
However, the service staff seemed inexperienced,
Resulting in a disorganized order of food and complex explanations during ordering, which felt like a waste of time.
As a result, some of my friends couldn't fully enjoy the meal due to its prolonged duration and lack of proper food preparation.
It felt like a waste of precious time. Additionally, the prices were higher than expected.
After all, the restaurant's thoughtful preparation and excellent service will be remembered as a place worth revisiting.
(Later I found out that there was a lunch special menu, but they didn't inform me about it and only presented the expensive menu,
giving me the feeling that they were trying to boost sales.)

Great first experience with Japanese hot pot. Staff was extremely helpful explaining the best way to enjoy Shabu Shabu . Recommend anyone want to try out Japanese Shabu Shabu.

I ordered a chicken with a miso soup base. I enjoyed it very much. I also added on more Tofu and Kimchi. They have a sauce bar where you can choose a dipping sauce with small add-ons such as green onions and such. I would come here again to try the other soup bases offered. Although slow traffic at the time of eating, the service was good, however the servers were busy being on their phones or sitting around. Atmosphere was nice.
I highly recommend this restaurant, and it is an excellent place to have hot soup on a cold or rainy day. The selection is good, and there are standard and premium options. Portion sizes ranging from 3 to 14 oz means you can select the best fit for your appetite.
The staff here were friendly and kind, continuously checking up on us and asking if we needed anything. They even suggested what sauces and combinations work best with our meat selections. The miso soup was pleasant without being overly powerful in flavor. It complimented the chicken and tofu perfectly.
The atmosphere here is excellent, with no loud music and nice relaxing vibes where we can eat peacefully. The place is clean, and there are no bad smells. There is plenty of ventilation so you don't smell the other tables' foods or what they are eating.
The sauce station is always topped up and clean—no mess and clearly labeled.
I highly recommend this location and will be back again.

DO NOT COME HERE! I went in for lunch around 1pm on a weekend and there was only 1 other table. Upon seeing the emptiness I should have left but I made the first mistake of sitting down. The second mistake I made was not leaving after seeing the mandatory 18 percent tip added onto EVERY check not just parties of 6 or more. The portions are small and overpriced. Rice was undercooked. Soup was bland and flavorless even though they charge 5 dollars for it. They also charge a 7.50 adult set. I guess it's just free money for the owner to charge customers. Don't waste your time and money here. They paid for all their positive reviews. DO NOT COME HERE!

This was my first hot pot experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. They explained the ordering and cooking process and were attentive throughout our meal. It was definitely a great place

The meat served here is of a really good quality. They have a few option for soup and we love their sukiyaki pot.

We had a large party here for work and it is very yummy! Unlimited veggies and you buy meat to cook in the broth, it is very yummy! The service was great for a large party too! I normally ask for extra carrots and broccoli, definitely a fun experience to show to visiting friends. You cook the meat, then dip it in sauce then scoop up rice with it and eat! You can also have ramen at the end and drink the broth!
Had a group of about 18 people come here and it was just a horrible experience. We called hours ahead and notified staff we would all be ordering veggie combos, and yet, no prep was done whatsoever. Some in my party were receiving their food 40min after others. We were placed in the backroom and I can only suspect that the overhead vents weren't turned on, because my entire group was being steamed alive with just a small fan running. Pretty terrible experience. Just on taste alone, I would avoid this place all together, RH has much better HP.

I have been here so many times. Today is the worst experience ever.
I came in lunch time. The rice was half full. And the clerk told us that he can’t turn down the air conditioner while we were sweating all over. The meat wasn’t good as before. I am so disappointed today.

First time we went here and we had a little friend in my kids food. They gave us extra rice and a plate of meat. The little animal was inside the soy sauce. The food was good and what not but after that we were just kinda like okay well first and last time coming here. The waiter was very nice and helpful as soon as we told him about the little animal in the soy sauce.
good food, and good services. Extra charges for certain soup bases.

The quality of expensive meat has reached the standard, however the side dishes have not met the general requirements.

The waiter misremembered the position of the heating pot, which resulted in the hot plate.

Fortunately, we found this mistake early. It is very dangerous and needs to be corrected and careful.

Taste and food quality are consistently good. Prompt and courteous service. A bit on the pricey side, but definitely worth the money as a treat. Wait is long during peak dining hours.

The meat quality is great and worth the money you paid. Would like to try it again later to make sure this will be on our hot pot list.

Used to love their variety of soup base, meat, and vegetable choices and quantities. Currently, lunch deals are not as good as before. Hoping they will reverse to old menu.
The most flavorful Shabu I have had mixed with extremely friendly service. Their Sukiyaki was amazing and their selection of vegetables was extensive. Their prices were surprisingly reasonable, especially with the quantity and quality of food.

One of the more popular spot for hotpot. The portions were small but the veggies categories were decent. They do have broth for vegetarians. Plenty of parking spaces. Kid friendly.
Soup was great, less watery than I expected. american wagyu was great. Sauces were fine. Service was great, the waitress checked on us every 10-15 minutes or so. A bit steeply priced. The soup is served in paper, I wonder if it affects the quality or not.

Came here during lunch time. The building is not busy, easy to find parking. Nothing has changed since prepandemic, it was easy to order through the Ipad. The staffs were attentive, the food came out pretty quickly. It still tastes as good like before, definitely recommended.

First time experience. With a vegetarian member of the family, this probably wasn't the best choice. The service was fantastic. They really tried their best to add little extra vegetables and tofu. I was very thankful for them trying. It was interesting and different. The food was good. Since I'm not the greatest cook and you have to cook the food yourself, I probably didn't do the best on the udon. Vegetables were good and fresh-ish. They do put them in the fridge ahead of time, so I can see some people complain about that. Got some cooked tofu thing(?) and it was really good. I recommend everyone giving this experience and place a try. With non-meat eaters, it may not be the best choice. Cool place with great service and we'll probably be back again. Thanks.

A family relative brought me there after another shabu was too crowded. This shabu was just ok to not bad but definitely not worth 4.5 on google maps. It's a typical Chinese-style Japanese Shabu, I'd rather call it a single hot pot. The style was Chinese, the waiters/waitresses were Chinese, the foods were Chinese and even the taste was Chinese.
I don't know why I took 20 hours flying all the way from Shanghai to Los Angeles and ate such a personal hot pot blow average (compare to Shanghai).
Repeat: A single personal hot pot is NOT equal to Shabu Shabu.

I got the small beef belly with the beef bone soup. (I also started eating when I took the pic, oops!). Their small may be a bit small for an adult? I left satisfied. I definitely could have eaten more, but at least I didn't leave hungry.

Their beef bone doesn't have much flavor? Which kind of made me sad. Their house soup has more flavor and that's what I would recommend.

They have their own sauce bar. I like my sauce with satay and ponzo, cilantro, green onions, and garlic!

Would definitely recommend this shabushabu place!

They recently changed ownership but the food still tastes great. They need to take down/fix their business hours posted on their door cause they are now closed for a break in between lunch and dinner hours. Their prices have gone up. The sesame sauce is now watered down/less flavorful as before--please bring back the old sesame sauce recipe. They now give customers a tablet to use to look at the menu and to place an order but it's not efficient at all cause there's only one tablet for the entire party to use. Only one person can look at the menu and order at a time which isn't great especially if you have a larger party.

I found it very expensive for what's served, the set menu is $15.50 and while the veggie serving is ok, the meat is very little. Check photos. Ordered 2 set pots, 1 extra meat (small) and 1 rice bowl and came for $60.

Taste was ok, but also nothing to really highlight in my opinion.
We took our Mom to Jazz Cat for Mother's Day, her special request. We had a phenomenal meal. The staff was so kind and helpful. We ordered the Lamb T-Rex, the assorted fish and seafood, and had the Japanese Miso (Regular and Spicy). It was sooo yummy. We were glad to be able to celebrate Mom here. She was so happy! Thank you for the excellent service and wonderful meal, Jazz Cat. 😁

Really good! Definitely recommend it. The amount of food is good, the amount of vegetables they give was nice. You do have to pay a $10 fee if you share food with someone. Went on a Saturday night for dinner and the wait was around 20-25 minutes.

Customizable shabu shabu with meat and vegetarian options. My family and I have been coming here for years. This is the spot where we’ll take people who are in town or for when it’s a cold night. You pick the type of meat (Kobe beef or the bulgogi are good bets) and the size (6 oz is quite filling already). There is a tofu and mushroom option available for vegetarians as well. You then pick the kind of broth (spicy yaki is sweet and spicy, while the house spicy is salty and spicy) and can also upgrade to a “wow” combo for $3 more (I would suggest one person get it if you’re with multiple people to share the extras, otherwise it’s a lot). The wow combo includes dumplings and sausage and ramen noodles to name a few things included. You can adjust the heat settings yourself although the waiters will set it for you in the beginning. Parking is easy since there’s a lot, bathrooms are available, they do take credit card, and there’s no free WiFi. The food is really tasty and fun to cook - definitely come check this out whenever you’re in Diamond Bar.

I love this place. I go almost every time I'm in LA. You choose a meat or vegetables, a soup base and a sauce. I like TRex beef with Japanese spicy miso with Japanese sesame sauce. If you dont like spicy, the Japanese miso is a good alternative. The golden fish balls are perfection in a bite.
