I'm not even sure if YSG is a real company or just a front.
They installed the solar panels on my roof, for the previous owner.
over the years I have tried to call them a few times for questions or maintenance and no one really answered or sometimes they did but never followed up. But recently I have a small leak in my roof, now the company that installed the panels usually offers a 25 year warranty that if the panels need to be lifted off to fix the roof they do so. For 2 weeks I have called/ emailed/ texted YSG with no response. It just goes straight to voicemail. Does this company even exist?

YSG did a stellar job on my solar project. A neighbor of ours had a system installed by them and we were curious so we called them up. Our salesperson was very non pushy, informative and to the point. 6 months later and our bill is 1/4 of what it was before having solar installed. Just finished claiming our last solar tax credits and couldn’t be happier. Definitely recommend.

This is actually the worst solar company to hire. They don’t know how to install a roof panel when they install. They often miss the correct spot for your lag bolts coming from years of general contracting and building housing. I had to go inspect the work to find many missed holes in my brand new roof to find garbage and, zip ties left all over my yard now after being installed taking almost a year when I was promised to be installed in the summer months now my roof panels are loose !! every time The wind blows, my panels shake, causing me to wake up in the middle of the night and worry whether not these panels will be ripped off my roof after many calls to the company and there’s nothing they can do about it. I’m still sitting here with brand new roof panels, not even six months old, shaking every day don’t use this company. They know nothing about insulation and how a proper roof should be installed. This should be no play at all on these panels every single time the wind blows like I said my entire roof shakes.

We spent 2 nights at Hotel Marcel this week moving in our Junior year Yalie. The hotel is very nice. Our room was clean, well adorned and comfortable. We didn’t have a car so there was no need for us to park, but it appeared they had a surface lot and I assume the parking was free. They did offer a shuttle that we used several times. The shuttle picked us up at the Amtrak Union station, took us to Tweed and also took us to campus.
The hotel bar has a small but nice selection of local craft beers on draft. As a craft beer fan I really appreciated this. They also serve the beers in nice stemware glasses and not shaker pints which is another detail I very much appreciate.
The room is fully controlled using a touch panel to adjust the temp, raise and lower the blinds and adjust the lighting. I was able to figure it out well enough but my wife found it frustrating.
There is no iron/ironing board in the room but instead the have a steamer. I used the steamer and it worked well.
The shower door swings into the shower which we appreciated as it helps to not have the floor a sopping mess after someone showers.
The coffee in the room is a nice “steeping” brand that is like a teabag. They have little electric teapots to heat the water and pour over the coffee. It makes a nice cup, but takes a little longer and is a bit messy.
The staff were all friendly, attentive and professional.
We did get some of the breakfast items and ate them in our room. The selections were adequate and the prices fair for hotel.
The walls were a bit thin. There was a loud TV in an adjacent room that disturbed us a bit as well as some laughing teenagers well into the late hours of the night/early morning.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay at the Hotel Marcel again.

My solar system stopped working and now I can't get in contact with them. (Called for months and emailed them)Use another solar company if you don't want future headaches. I had issues with YSG for years, especially with the passing of permits and things related to the DOB. (Took a whole year and prob would not have been done if i did not get involved with numerous contacts to the DOB) My consumption meter stopped working a year ago and they refused to fix it, they offered to send me a check to have someone else fix it but it's been a year and still no check with multiple follow ups. Now my solar panels are no longer working and I am stuck with no support. I'm a person that never likes to leave a bad review, because i don't believe in reputation shaming. But YSG definetly deserves the 1 star. Stay away from YSG. Wish I never did business with them. NO INTEGRITY WHATSOEVER.

We had a great experience with Aegis. From the beginning, Nathan Hernandez was knowledgeable and responsive. He was sensitive to the aesthetics of the grid on the front of our house and sized the system to accommodate our plug-in hybrid car. The installers are experienced and have worked for the company for many years. The office staff answers the phone directly and addresses your questions immediately. We found everything about this company very well done so we are pleased to give Aegis our highest recommendation.

Note that YSG and Alpha Solar Group appear to be the same company! We hired YSG to put on solar panels. The process was completely opaque but eventually it got done, and a completely different team was involved in each step, which is fine if the teams had been communicating among themselves, which they were not. Our quote said we should expect 103% of our electric costs to be made back in the first year, but it was nowhere near that. I have called and emailed with Chelsea, Ray, and Ken, but I've gotten no straight answer (and mostly no response at all) about the discrepancy in how much the system would produce. All I want to know is what we could have done better to increase the production! My husband and I suspect the team installed on the wrong side of the roof, and they are ashamed to admit it?...We had planned to purchase a solar battery from YSG but now we will definitely not do so -- and we discourage other customers from trusting this company. Look up Alpha Solar Group reviews for similar experiences as ours.

Aegis has been a pleasure to work with. They answered our many questions and did an excellent job managing expectations. The job was about 4 months from start to finish, which was about what we had hoped for. Unfortunately, there are some really sketchy players in this field; we were delighted to find such knowledgeable and helpful folks at Aegis. They also recommended a roofing contractor that we ended up using, and that also worked out well. We would recommend Aegis without hesitation.

I did a ton of research before installing solar panels. Then I talked with four companies to get different quotes. I met some good, smart people; but Aegis stood above the others. In particular, Nathan Hernandez -- who designed my system, answered my NUMEROUS questions, and served as my point-person throughout the whole process -- was AMAZING. They used the best equipment, had great pricing, and were quick and efficient through the whole permitting and install process. They estimated 3-6 months from the date of my signing of the contract to when I could officially "turn" the system on and start generating power. It took 3 months and one week, and if I hadn't been out of state when they initially called to schedule panel installation, it would have been done in exactly 3 months. I highly recommend Aegis Solar and Nathan Hernadez.

So as a backdrop to this review, note that I never give one star reviews except in case of severe problematic behavior on the part of the company, which I am now convinced of.
So we ordered and had YSG Solar install our solar panels back in 2018, and while there were issues after the installation (partially due to Covid, but also due to bad installation issues causing us to fail inspection twice), we were willing to let bygones be bygones because the system was working and we just wanted to move on. However, in March of this year, our system stopped working, and we’ve been trying to call them over and over but no one picks up or ever calls back (which is doubly problematic when their operations number says that they’ll return calls “within 24 hours”).
We’ve also now discovered that even though our contract states “25 year performance and labor warranty”, they never extended the warranty of our inverter. You can only do so within the first two years of purchase, so it is now impossible to extend it, and with YSG never responding, our only choice currently seems to be paying someone else $2K to replace the inverter because YSG won’t return our calls or emails.
Note that I also have a BBB complaint against them, and I’m not the only one - do your research before using this company!

We are very satisfied with the overall experience with YSG. Ken and team was very professional to walk us through the process every step of the way. Installation crew knows what they are doing and get everything installed within a day.

I had my solar system installed in 2016 and it has been great. I went with Aegis because they were the company with the most experience in CT. Since install there have been several issues where parts have failed under warranty. They have been great to work with and have made the process simple. A simple email to the operations manager and he works it right away. That is the measure of true customer service now six years after install. Many companies walk away once they have your money and make things difficult, not Aegis. They are a world class solar installer company.

My Tesla is now being charged from the sun! thank you YSG Solar. In September we started searching for a solar panel company. My neighbor used another company that we met previously who came to our home to provide us an estimate. We started the process and after months nothing occurred, my husband ended up cancelling. We called YSG and within one day of calling we received the estimate. From the day the paperwork was signed until the panel system had been installed was just weeks. This was a big relief. It was not an easy decision for us to go electric with our car. YSG even installed our Tesla charger, they delivered on all of their promises and are a true professional company. There is nothing better than getting a $20 power bill.

YSG is not a professional company from making false promises on schedule to the owner, David Magid not being accountable. I was told the system would be completed In 2 months at most.
That was in November 2019, “everything will be installed in 1 or 2 days” I am into my 3rd visit and still Not fully installed.
I am dealing with an incomplete installation and a YSG team that’s not accountable for what they do. I was told on 12/24 the rest of my connection will be 3 or 4 weeks.
David asked me to approve the loan on 1/2/2020 and everything will be completed in 3-4 weeks. All it was so they could get paid, since he has avoided contact with me. I asked for call backs.
Do not approve any loan from Service Finance Company, LLC until you are fully operational.
Stay away from YSG, I have had an issue every step of the way, not one item or schedule has been kept.
I will update my progress until my system is connected updated - 2/6/2020
As of 2/28 I have not received any schedule of my interconnection, e-mails and schedule request have gone un answered for weeks. I keep on getting the run around, I get the talking to Nora or David but no answers from Ken D who was my sales person.
My loan payment has started in February and now I am paying for a system that’s not operational plus my electrical bill. Two bills and not end to it.
I have contacted Service Finance Company, LLC and waiting on their reply.
I will update my progress as I hear back from Service Finance Company, LLC or when David Magid decides to complete my project or call me back as requested. Updated 2/28
As of 4/22 YSG is refusing to provided incentives added to the agreement.
Do not trust the Docusign process.
Do not approve the loan or sign anything from Service Finance company until you have a fully sign agreement.
Add a retainer on the agreement until the work and connection service if fully completed, which means your are generating power.
As of 10/19/20 - My permit have not been closed, I left a message with Raymond, their project manager and no call back. The incentives promised have not been delivered as of this update.
Do not take a loan from any of their finance company GreenSKY (dropped them) or Service Finance company, they are all in bed together.
As of 11/20 YSG has not closed my permits or provided a timeframe for closing them.
As of 10/2023 YSG still has not provided money for incentives. In addition after contacting Enphase (YSG lost Enphase installer status) they informed me that YSG installers missed adding a consumption meter. I have filed a BBB complaint, filed a NY Consumer Bureau complain and NY Department of public service.
Save yourself lots of time and aggravation!
There are many other options out there, do yourself a favor and stay away from YSG solar and anyone associate with this company.
As of 01/22/24, YSG has not provided payment for incentives and back pay for connection delay as stated in our agreement.
Some of Raymond Sanabria delay strategy goes as followed:
Schedules meetings to discuss without following up, asked for bank routing number information to provide payment and doesn't submit, provides tracking number for payment but never provides a package to shipping company, waits weeks before responding and responds with the following. He was out on paternity, was out sick for a while, the approvers were out of the office to sign and as mention above goes on for weeks before getting back, doesn't pick up his phone, doesn't reply to message.

Already gave them a 5 star review on other sites. Leslie stopped by yesterday to go over details I wasn't understanding correctly with my solar monitoring app. This guy is a total class act, he knows his solar and he knows the Connecticut incentives. I'm telling everyone I know, if you are going solar you gotta call Leslie with Aegis. The LG panels look really nice in my opinion. I shopped the market these guys are the real deal and the crew did a nice clean install, very respectful of our home and the landscaping.

I received multiple quotes and compared to the other big national installers they had the best price and equipment. Leslie my salesman was excellent and explained everything upfront very well. They provided a very detailed and easy to understand quote within a day or two. The national installers were some of the most high pressure salespeople I have ever encountered and provided nothing upfront on paper. I experienced the complete opposite with Leslie and Aegis.
Everything moved along very smoothly and they were very quick on moving the paperwork and applications along. I had my panels up in running in a little over 2 months.
The final install was excellent quality. I have a building trade background and they did an excellent job properly attaching the panels to my roof and running all the wiring. I researched all the equipment they installed and they are using whats considered top of the line stuff in the solar industry.
They are also a local CT company located right in my town that have been in business for a very long time and its nice knowing I supported a local business.

They did a wonderful job installing solar panels on my house and received professional, high quality service from day one and it has continued even about 11 months after they finished the install. Their quote was also very consistent with the market. I would strongly recommend this company to anyone looking at solar.
