Elemental provides top quality veterinary care for pets in a caring and professional setting. They take the time to get to know each pet and personalize care. Cannot recommend them highly enough!
I started coming to this clinic about a year ago. Each visit is always so welcoming. They give my dog love and never once did I feel judged. My dogs teeth were horrible and I found it difficult to allow a procedure be done where I knew extractions were needed. They did stress the importance of it but I always felt distressed with scheduling the appointment, especially since I was and still am struggling financially. But never did I feel judged or pressured. Finally I knew it was time and everything got done as perfectly as possible. They prepared my dog Canelo before during and after the procedure. They call to check on Canelo after all visits and I can’t feel anything but gratitude for them. I 1000% recommend this clinic and find every expense worth it. Not to mention they aren’t insanely pricy like most clinics. The only pricy fee I would say is the office visit fee which to me is pretty high and just rose from 85-110$. But follow ups are free as long as they’re within 2 weeks after first visit!
A vet you can trust!

We take Loki here and though it’s not always pleasant for him, they truly love animals here and what they do!

Each time we go in, we’re treated with care and we’re never left with questions. And if we have them they answer them kindly and patiently. Thank you for taking care of our boy! 🥹♥️
Unfortunately for the vet, the sick cat, the friend and for me, I had to cancel the appointment after feeling stressed from a passive aggressive phone lady receptionist. She is super aggressive, super cold, super rude. I called back to cancel with a no carrier excuse due to the bad energies and a nice gentleman helped out and made me change my mind by offering to pick up a carrier, how nice of him, very polite and professional young man. Once I arrived this horrendous miserable unhappy woman that never gets laid scared me and I canceled the appointment once and for all because of the fear of leaving my cat near this woman, who knows if she would abuse it?

I take my Golden here to be groomed by Val. Val and Jackson are wonderful and welcoming! Charlie always looks great. Dr. Flores is a colleague that I respect very much; she's a wonderful veterinarian!
I just want to share my last experience in this place this morning . My dog has to be vaccinated this week and I got into de clinic just to know the time they close and for my surprise I was totally ignored by the rude receptionist that noticed that I had come in but not even a good morning or something like that . I was stood for a few minutes in front of her and I just asked a quick question that was: excuse me what time do you guys close ? And she answered me with the head down Ignoring me totally. And I just asked if I need to have appointment for vaccination or not. She was super rude and answered that I have to wait because there was more client there. It is simple, I just expected a yes or no question, but unfortunately, the lady was not willing to help. Maybe she is the owner and it explains why this place is always empty. The last time I took my dog I observed the way she treated the lady who asked a simple question as well. We pay for the expensive service, it's not free. We deserve to have a humanitarian service specially in the front . Anyway . I don't feel comfortable with this kind of service because I am accustomed to dealing with polite people.

They are always super friendly and knowledgeable; plus you can tell they’re all animal lovers with how excited they are to see each pet.
I will trust holistic vets most from here on out! This place gave me hope for my cat after 5 days of trauma at the ER and other vets. Dr Gapas and her son are amazing. Bringing her here was the turning point for my cat. She felt better. She needed to eat, the ER never addressed that. Dr. Gapas fed her and showed me how to make special food to give her through a syringe. Amazing place, thank you for offering us some relief!
Long over due!
My frenchie has had a few leg injuries and with his prior Veterinarian he was being treated for a back leg limp. Worried that it could turn into IVDD real fast he was put on medication for the inflammation as well as something to “calm” him down. Unfortunately that prescription wasn’t for him and when contacting the vet they did very little to address my concern. After a couple of day he wasn’t himself and wasn’t walking and would urinate on himself. Deeply concerned a close friend recommended Animal Clinic in Astoria, wanting a second opinion I called on a Saturday morning and expressed my concern and they said they would love to see him that very same day. Every single person inside the office showed so much love to my Bleu and were truly invested in figuring out what was going on with him. After multiple test Dr.Gapas sat down with me and explained what could be happening with him and set up a plan to get him back to his happy self. The following day they called just to check up on him and that meant a lot to me. I also had another meeting with them that following Monday to discuss his x-rays with another Dr there which also took her time to discuss the results and to see him walk around. My dog is better than ever and was back to normal after a couple days. I’m so glad I got a second opinion because they truly treat our pets like family. Thank you to everyone single person at the Animal Coinic 🐾❤️
Dr Villa is very committed to her clients and she is very compassionate to her Patients and their owners

Im so thankful for them and their sympathy for me and my pet. Which I did not get from other vets I called. They were booked for the day and I told them how sick my dog was and they fit me in within an hour!! The front desk gentleman (wish I remembered his name) was so polite and kind. He was the calm to my storm! Thanks again
My cat Bullseye (18 years old) wasn’t feeling well and very sick, Dr. Gappas was amazing and she really cares for animals. The entire staff was helpful and really supportive during this stressful time. I would highly recommend this Vet for your pets. Thank you so much to the entire staff you have no idea how grateful we are of your help.

WOW! I have never met a more professional place!! Dr. Flores and her staff go above and beyond. They are honest and fair. My cat went it for a bump on his head to finding out he had a cyst on his neck. They acted fast came up with a plan and treated him. They treated me with respect and made sure Harry was fine the whole time. I am so grateful for them.

Dr. Jonathan May has been treating my cat for a urinary track infection. Dr. May is an outstanding doctor, he’s very compassionate, not only does he care about animals but he also cares about his clients, he goes above and beyond explaining what treatment needs to be done and explains everything in simple terms so that you don’t have to be a doctor to understand. I would highly recommend Dr. May for anyone that needs vet care.

After receiving a substantial quote (Thousands) from my veterinarian for several tooth extractions, I reached out to friends for alternatives, and they recommended Elemental. I was incredibly stressed going into this after finding my boy cat had multiple teeth that needed to be removed and he was in pain, right during the holiday season. The staff was very polite, informative, and took so much stress out of this situation. The cost was a fraction compared to my normal vet. He was fully recovered in just few days, with zero issues after having 8 teeth removed. He immediately showed a dramatic change in his personality, it’s hard to believe how much. A month later and he is super playful, more than all his years before. He is also a very vocal boy now, I can tell just how much better he feels everyday. This was my first and only experience so far, but will return and recommend to others!
I’ve had 5 animals neutered there and one emergency visit. The tall male vet is very nice and the front desk is good. The wait is long for an appointment to see the vet or make spay/neuter but doable. I love that there are weekend vet hours - even if it’s just for stabilization.
I did a walk-in for urgent care Saturday evening 01/06 for an adult cat that needed an emergency tooth extraction. I was extremely pleased with the entire process. From reception to post-op, it was efficient, stellar care, and reasonably priced for after-hours care. "Lil Bit" recovered nicely and is back to full health.
The only reason I am not rating five stars is that it can be extremely difficult to get someone on the phone at times. I get put on hold and wait only to be put on hold again, and then the call drops. And this has happened more than a couple times. That is really my only complaint, the clinic itself is well run and the staff are very friendly.
As the head of an animal rescue society, I deal with vets frequently. We have found it home yet with caring and knowledgeable professionals. Less expensive than Manhattan travel.
My kitty had surgery on October 13th. He was in perfect health. After the operation, I went to the clinic to pick up my cat. When I looked at him, I immediately noticed that his eyes were abnormal. I quickly turned to the front desk and asked what happened to my cat. One of the girls came forward indifferently and checked out the cat. She asked his coworker and they said that there is nothing and that it is normal to have watery eyes after the operation. I got the cat at 4:30 pm. My cat was sleepy at night, but the next morning I noticed acute problems in his eyes, especially on the left eye was completely closed, it was very red and swollen. I called the clinic to let them know what they did to my kitty.
First, they said that they don't have time, but with my insistence, they said that I can go to the clinic, but they emphasized that I have to pay for the visit. The damage this clinic has done to my kitty is unimaginable. Kitty's eyes are injured and I went to my cat's previous clinic for treatment. The doctor has diagnosed a big wound inside my cat's eye. Now he is using medicine every two hours. If it doesn't get better by Monday, they will send me to a specialized eye clinic. I paid more than two hundred dollars and lost a whole day of my work. And I still have time for the next visit on Monday. I wish I never brought my cat to this clinic. Now I just pray that my cat will be like the first day. This clinic should be responsible for this horrible incident. I do not recommend this unprofessional center to anyone. It is a very dangerous place.
Clay Humane is the absolute best! The staff is extremely friendly and caring. Dr. Kossol is the best vet ever and hands down my favorite vet of all time! My baby Nigel was diagnosed with kidney disease November 2022, she gave us a step by step guide on how we could help him & always followed his kidney levels closely. If it weren't for her we would not have even known about the kidney disease & wouldn't have 10 more months with our baby. More time with him is the best gift I could've ever had. I miss my bestfriend everyday. He meant most to me in this world. ❤️ Thank you for all you have done for us Dr. Kossol! I will always remember the precious time we had with him and I will be forever grateful. 🙏
I started bringing my pooch here after her 1st required visit to the veterinarian ... I was flabbergasted at how much it cost ... having a puppy is like having a child ... you must keep their wellness appointments and get the vaccines that will protect them from the nastiness in the streets ... I couldn't even take my puppy for a walk until she weighed enough to get a special vaccine that protects her from rat pee ... because I live in New York City and we're a haven for the rat population ... my Yorkie Olivia is almost 2½ years old now & I've been taking her to The Humane Society since she was spayed at 6 months ... the veterinarian wanted over 1K .... The Humane Society was less than $200 ...
They have a text number which they check & answer you very promptly ... you can same-day pick-up meds for your pet as long as the med doesn't require medical tests ... appointments require a $45 deposit which is applied to your final bill ... there is going to be a wait --- sometimes 2 months ... but the savings you get for professional veterinarian care for your fur-baby is soooo worth it ... and it's easy to get there on public transportation ... a win-win no matter how you slice it !
We took Sailor, a stray we found on the military base in Jacksonville Florida in to be neutered. When we picked him up the next morning, we found out he was a little girl, not a boy and she had babies back on base. We were able to catch all three of her babies and had them all adopted as a family to a former Marine who was retired. He had actually lost Sailor when he had stayed on the base months before we found her and when he found out we had located her, wanted her and all three of her babies! They all live now in their forever home just outside of Jacksonville. We are happy we were able to help out this family of cats and are greatful to know that Clay County Humane society played such a big part in saving Sailor and her babies! What a great place!
I recently had my 8 month old puppy Winter spayed and chipped at the HSNY. I had to schedule this four months in advance but it was well worth the wait. The Dr. did an amazing job and Winter's incision site looked terrific after only about a week post procedure. The staff was pleasant and I met some really nice pet parents during check-in and check-out. I thought I was going to be late to pick up Winter due to the President's visit and I was so worried and upset but the staff was so pleasant and understanding. I would visit this hospital for all of Winter's needs. They exceeded my expectations. Thank you, HSNY.
In order to bring your.fur baby to the Humane society you need to have an appointment.
In order to make an appointment you need to put a deposit.
I preferred not to make the deposit over the phone and asked if I can make appt in person, I was advised that I can and was told I can go any day during business hours.
I went on a Saturday first thing in the morning and was turned away by an employee because apparently there is no one there to make appointments on the weekend and told me that even if I went during the week it wasn't guaranteed anyone who can make an appointment will be there.
It would have been nice to be given proper information prior to me taking a drive and wasting my time..
Overall I would not know I only called looking for emergency removals of lumps and bumps as cyst and tumors for my pitbull and the prices Are reasonable to somewhat expensive for Emergencies but right I'm pretty sure that they're very nice and clean and very polite in the inside and maybe they are helpful for some people but for myself I was. Referred to low cost veterinarian. So to me they are expensive to somewhat expensive.
The care is excellent and the prices very reasonable, however it takes awhile to get an appointment for your fur baby. They provided my pet medication in tablet form which needed to be cut in 1/4th. Problem is that the pill is so small that a pill cutter can not be used. Why did they not cut it for me or prescribe something more manageable. In short, I paid for medication that my cat, Marshall cannot use. I am frustrated even went to a local pharmacy and they agreed with me, why did they not suggest a compound option since pets requirements are specific and cutting pills is not exact dosage.
PLEASE READ THIS HONEST REVIEW BEFORE BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT HERE. Sadly I used to really like this place. It was my go to no matter what. Now I’ve heard nothing but horrible things. Someone who works there recently told me they mistreat the animals on occasions. This place was so much better before the 2020 pandemic. It’s over now and they should go back to the way they were. They’ve hired kids who barely even speak English to come and get the animals and we can’t get a direct one on one with the doctors and majority of the best doctors there have left. And people have so many questions and there’s no one to give answers. How do we know shots are being given and procedures are being done?! This place sadly needs to be shut down. There are way more honest veterinary clinics out there. Might cost a bit more but worth it if you love your pet. This place is just untrustworthy and dishonest at this point.
Had to put my amazing chocolate LabradorJack down last minute emergency. When I called, the lady at the desk @ 6: 30pm on a Friday she was was very insensitive more monotone computer. I was not a resident and my dog had never been seen there before.
The protocol was based more on financial responsibility than patient satisfaction. I could not get an appointment for the next day and she said the doctors we're more apt to take locals and existing patients for an emergency. It was best to take him in emergency during their midnight clinic. Nevertheless I did not want my Labrador to suffer so I took him in on an emergency basis.

When I got there everyone was pretty nice. It's not what I expected. I have never had to euthanasia any pet before and the decision as you may expect is very difficult. Am I being selfish to keep him alive he's almost 14 years old.
The doctor and stuff was nice but I felt like they wanted to run tests that were just going to give me the same answers. In the end the ice finally broke and they were seem to be more compassionate than when I first walked to the door. I miss my Jack. They're facilities are beautiful clean well kept and their prices of very affordable. It wasn't the money for me It was the ethical decision and the hardest one I've ever had to make. I got Jack back a week later in a beautiful blue Stein. I will spread his ashes back in California over Laguna mountains. I don't wish the decision on anyone. He went in peace and that's all I can ask for. I would use a facilities again but I would only suggest their front desk lady that answers the phone be more considerate and passionate as us as pet owners know our dogs more than anyone regardless of blood test X-rays or any other lab test think they have to run.
I don't think that having a stipulation of being a current patient should be a factor getting an appointment. A lot of us travel. We depend on reviews and responsible ethical veterinarians so that we can take our family pets with us. I would use them again I'm just posting this as a suggestion. RIP Jack 🐶
I’ve been coming here since 1990. I staff is so helpful and gives me updates when my pets have to stay. I have only had positive experiences here. I highly recommend the Humane Society of New York!
Fired me right before the holidays. Tried to set me up like I didn’t show up but I have all the texts saved. Don’t trust these people. After being behind the scenes I would NEVER bring my pet there. The techs are NOT certified. Only the doctors are. They lie and lie and talk behind all the clients backs, and that goes for the “older” people who work there. One more thing. Don’t board your pet here. Unless you want it to be cold in the dark and alone for most of the stay. Sorry someone had to expose this place….
They saw my guinea pig for skin irritation and he’s already doing better one day later. Dr was so polite and kind. Very good bedside manner. He was very knowledgeable and gave me concise directions with a lot of useful information. The receptionist was so polite, too. You can tell these people really love animals and love their jobs.

My husband and I found the staff at Elemental Vet Clinic to be very professional, caring, and accommodating. To say Dr. Sean Surman is an exceptional veterinarian would be an understatement. He helped us care for our aging dog who had a plethora of unique health conditions when we moved to Columbus and needed to re-establish veterinary care. Dr. Surman and the team at Elemental were so incredibly kind, accommodating, & informative when we had to put our dog down when his health took a turn for the worse. I am forever grateful for their kindness & generosity through a VERY difficult situation.
I’ve used this veterinary service for my cats for more than ten years. I now have a Dachshund Dog, Dixie Rose. We live in Virginia, Dixie needed dental extractions, I drove to NYC Humane Society!! We received outstanding care, my baby is doing fine. She’s not speaking to me but she’s much better for the dental care. The Doctor that took care of Dixie was Phenomenal! On the ride home, we stopped, she was being held by my daughter. Thank you for the wonderful care.
The Merrick Veterinary Group is such a great place! The doctors/staff are truly amazing people. The way they take care of my dog makes me so happy. They helped him get through a lot. My cat is 20 years old just recently started having health issues. Rushed her there immediately and they took the best care of her. My cat Noel was legit on her death bed the day we took her to the Merrick Veterinary Group. They took her under their wings and gave her the treatment she needed. A few days later we started seeing a big difference in her. But I believe if it wasn’t for them my cat Noel would not be here right now. I’m beyond thankful for them. Xoxo

The groomer here is amazing! My girl has never been groomed becomes this and is very nervous around new people. Groomer said she did great, which was a huge shock to me! She seems to be very relaxed after what I thought would be traumatic for her. Great job!
Sorry, can't post pictures of what I saw. But I can tell you the staff is dedicated to the animals and they get excellent care
I have used Merrick Veterinary Group since we got our first puppy "Spike" back in 2000. They have always been there for us. We could call them, no matter what, and they would address our needs. Unfortunately after 17 years we had to put our beloved Spike to sleep back in 2017. We contacted Dr. Villa, it was a Saturday and they were getting ready to close for the day. Dr. Villa and her staff told us they would wait as long as it would take to bring him in! As any animal lover knows, it is the hardest thing in the world to do! We can't thank them enough for all that they did for us during our time of grief. We have since gotten another puppy, "Zipper" and we couldn't be happier having Dr. Villa and her staff as his veterinarian group! I highly recommend them!
We've been taking our dogs here for their entire lives, 13 and 11 years. They've been healthy, and we haven't had to bring them in for 3 years. They are now considering them new patients. One of my dogs need to be seen due to incontinence (diarrhea) , and they tell me I have to wait 4 months for an appointment. Absolutely unacceptable. 4 months?! I called back to inquire more about appointments and was finally told they do have an emergency clinic Fri, Sat, and Sundays. Why they didn't mention that before, I'm not sure. When a dog is having incontinence issues for weeks/months I would think they would suggest and appointment sooner than 4 months away.
Also, expect a long wait (20+ minutes) when you call and don't be surprised if they hang up on you.
We will now be taking our dogs to Jacksonville Community Pet Clinic West iff of Verna (Normandy area). We had an emergency with our cat and other dog before and they got us right in. Sure enough, called today and they can see my dog tomorrow, not in 4 months. They are also low cost and very nice.

We have been using the Merrick Vet Group since 1994 - The doctors, techs & staff are excellent & treat my dog Mollie with love (and my dog Fluffy that passed away at 15 1/2, they were her Vet as well) - as she requires special treatment for anxiety from being an abused puppy. They always manage to squeeze us in if we have an urgent matter and I love the reminder emails about her shots that are needed. We are loyal to Dr. May & Dr Villa and trust they will always care for Mollie like their own dogs... I am a real person & am not receiving any compensation for writing this HONEST & TRUTHFUL review of their practice. I believe is giving credit, when credit is due.
I’ve had very positive experiences at Merrick Veterinary Group. They have cared for my two cats for over 12 years. When my one cat got very ill, they handled the situation with compassion and honesty. I would highly recommend!
