My fiancé and I live in town, and I have always walked past TBDH through the years, and finally we inquired about lessons for our first dance for our wedding in March. We had the BEST experience with both owners, and Mia - just everyone here has been a JOY and we learned our first dance perfectly. They feel like family, and were extremely patient helping us learn! This is the only place to go if you're looking for quality dance instruction!

My wife had been wanting to sign us up for dance lessons for years, but I had always been reluctant because it’s not really my thing, but I’m happy to say that we had a great time at First Dance Studio. Our instructor Danielle was fantastic. She’s very enthusiastic and patient, and she obviously loves what she does. I took wedding dance lessons with my mom for our Mother & Son Dance and we could not have had a better experience. Personally I am not a dancer, I've never taken dance lessons in my entire life, Ksusha made the entire experience very easy to follow and understand. We took dance lessons at First Dance Studio with Danielle and Dani in the 2 months leading up to our wedding. Danielle took the time in our first lesson to talk through our goals - we wanted some moves to look coordinated but nothing too choreographed. Even being under a time crunch, she always made sure we were able to secure a spot in the schedule to practice. This studio is wonderful!!! The atmosphere matched with the instruction are just what I had been searching for. The studio pushed me to the next level by always ensuring a healthy balance of criticism and excitement for the next dance move. I have found the packages to be fairly priced and flexible enough for my busy schedule. Most notably, I came to the studio because of the great dance instruction, and I will stay for the wonderful community.

I highly recommend La Clave Cubana's casino, rudea de casino, and bachata courses as well as their styling and Afro-Cuban workshops. Reinier, Daniela, and all of the instructors create the most welcoming dance community. Their instruction is in English and Spanish. Their performance teams are spectacular and they throw an amazing party!

Fabio and Jennifer are wonderful! They make a great team! Whether private lessons with Fabio or group classes, it’s always fun, challenging and yet never overwhelming! Fabio’s instructions are clear, he is very positive, even I didn’t do my homework 🙃 The studio is beautiful with lots of mirrors, always maintained clean! They teach everything: Ballroom smooth, rhythm and Argentinian tango. They organize workshops and bring the best of the best!

We so enjoyed working with Deborah! We did 4 lessons with her and feel so much more confident going into our first dance and parent dances. Deborah was an excellent dance teacher. My now husband and I had never danced together before, so we were starting from square zero. After moving my he area, I knew I wanted to dance again. I found The Ballroom Dance House and immediately fell in love with every part of the studio. I attended the Winter show today and I was amazed! I was there to see the kids hip hop and loved it. I was even more inspired by the adult performances! Watching adults move from their comfort zones and do something new was just wonderful! You can tell this is a space of empowerment, inspiration and fun! Really amazing!

If you’re thinking about dance lessons for your wedding, I highly recommend Danielle and First Dance Studio! We had already decided upon our first dance song and we both agreed we didn’t want to look uncomfortable on the dance floor or stuck with your boring basic prom side shuffle for our first dance at our wedding. We wanted memories of our wedding night that would last a lifetime and Danielle helped us get even more than that.

When I first brought up the idea of dance lessons to my then fiancé (now husband), he agreed to do the lessons but wasn’t thrilled about the idea. We both had athletic backgrounds from high school and college, but neither of us had danced before. Danielle made us both feel at ease and comfortable with dancing. My husband never thought this was something he would ever do, let alone enjoy it! After meeting Danielle and completing our introduction lesson, we decided to book a package so we would not only learn our first dance but have extra lessons to have as special date nights after our wedding – and to our shock, the lessons are good for 5-years from the date of purchase for many date nights to come!

Danielle had us laughing and enjoying ourselves while learning. Our dance lessons quickly became a nice getaway amidst the rest of the wedding planning chaos and was something we looked forward to each week. She was also super flexible with class times as we had demanding day jobs – fitting us in for the evening or on our ‘off-work Friday’, but we also were commuting 45 minutes for the lessons so if we got stuck in traffic, she was always understanding and made our schedule work. Although it was a choreographed dance, my goal was to know how to follow my partner’s lead well enough that I could be in the moment, enjoy our first dance, and be able to sing the lyrics without thinking about my next step, and Danielle taught us just that. We were super impressed with what we were able to learn in the number of lessons we did – a full 4.5-minute dance that included a lift and a dip! Danielle also worked with my husband and my mother-in-law for their mother-son dance and they had easy-to-remember steps in just one lesson!

Danielle gave us more than a nice-looking first dance at our wedding, she gave us cherished memories together that we'll never forget and now we have dance skills we can use at any occasion in the future. We are looking forward to using these skills at our friends’ weddings, vacations, and learning new types of dances on our date nights as we continue to use the lessons from our package. We cannot thank Danielle enough for the experience she provided us throughout the lessons, practicing at home, on our wedding day, and the fact that she made us both find an exciting new date night we can both enjoy! I just recently started taking private dance lessons at TBDH and it has been amazing! Ksusha and Ivan are so kind and enthusiastic and every class is so much fun. They take the time to break things down and are the best teachers! They also have parties and social dancing for the students and they are a blast. Even though I had only taken one class when I went to my first party, they made sure to involve me in the dancing and have everyone on their feet enjoying the night! I highly recommend this dance studio to everyone, no matter your experience! :)

An absolutely wonderful experience!!!!! The professionalism and instruction at the studio are more than worth the cost of lessons. I started off on day one terrified of dancing, to the point that I would turn down my own mother if she asked to go onto the dance floor. I was also starting this journey after some extremely tough times, both mentally and emotionally. Every class has been a joy. The instructors are wonderful people and care about the quality of instruction and the student's interests. I leave every lesson feeling like I am on top of the world and with a newfound confidence to dance.

I am so happy I found this dance studio. Ksusha and Ivan are amazing teachers, but more than that, they always make you feel like you are part of their dance family, they are so passionate about what they do, they work hard to plan monthly dance parties for all the students (always with a different theme!!) , and they’re just so much fun to be around. I took my wife for the free trial as a birthday gift. It was possible that we would continue to sporadically attend after this initial visit. There was about 15 minutes of dancing instruction, which I have no complaints about, followed by a 30 minute high-pressure sales pitch. Fortunately that wasn't my only gift to my wife so we just joked and laughed through the whole pitch but the experience was quite predatory. The free trial is for people who know they want to continue with the dance studio. If you're just trying out dancing, this probably isn't the place for you.

I would give them 100 stars if I could! I was looking for a dance studio to help come up with our first dance for our wedding. We tried another studio in the area and we were very disappointed until we found Move The Beat. They are reaonably priced and amazing to work with. Natalie came up with our entire first dance and really listened to what we wanted. I was so amazed at her talent and ability to teach us who have never danced before. Everyone at our wedding was amazing at how well we did. Amanda also led one of our sessions and was amazing to work with as well, pointing out improvements and tweaks. I would recommend this dance studio to anyone! They are so amazing to work with and you have fun doing it.

We love it! We are taking lessons so when we get married it looks decent. We are getting more than what we payed for. They are teaching us a lightly choreographed dance to our wedding song and multiple dance types so we can go dancing more often. We were I’ll call it swaying in the living room before, but now my fiancé is happily showing off his new found knowledge of the waltz and other dances to friends. For a construction worker to be that comfy is saying a lot! We decided to make this our date night and it’s the perfect combo with a good meal and conversation after. I really like how Fabio and Jennifer teach tango. Fabio's most complex movements are decomposed into simple elements and are easy to follow. A bunch of information about tango, which are dedicated to the history of dance. Humor and endless patience! But most importantly, Fabio explains how to feel a partner!!! I’m very inspired after each lesson. Many thanks to Fabio and Jennifer for their professionalism!

I've been taking Cuban dance lessons (mostly Rueda de Casino) from Reiner and Daniela for the last two years. I've enjoyed every minute! They are professional and they challenge their students while keeping lessons light and fun. They've helped to create a wonderful community of salseros!

I only wish I had more time to attend classes and socials. The opportunity is there to dive in....there are multiple classes every week, plus meet-ups at bars, clubs, restaurants, and outdoor venues to practice rueda and salsa.

Reinier and Daniela also host an annual Cuban dance fest that is the best! It's usually in early July...I couldn't go this year, but I went in 2002 and it was phenomenal...with top instructors from around the country! I highly recommend their regular classes, the dance festival, and any workshops they host.

I thought the Seattle Cuban Festival was amazing, well-organized and so much fun! The teachers were fabulous and I loved the variety of classes. I grew in my dancing skills and understanding of the dance genres. Being on campus was great. Housing, food and classes were all easy walking distance. The teachers and attendees were all friendly and welcoming. I felt very comfortable. Thanks so much. It was a transcendent experience. I'm already looking forward to next year.

Move the Beat is a fantastic, welcoming, an energetic and friendly dance studio that is worth a trip even if you're in the city. We worked with Natalie and Krystal to learn a choreographed tango for our first dance at our wedding and they were so full of enthusiasm and warmth all throughout that we knew we were at the best place to create something special and memorable.

We were looking for a location primarily in Chicago to learn a choreographed wedding dance just a month out from the special day. Due to the time constraint, most places were skeptical or only wanted to teach the basics. We were referred to Natalie and from the first introduction, you can tell she would not only be fun but also invested in your success and confidence when it comes to the performance.

At times, it also felt like a collaboration as Natalie was always open to incorporating our ideas and also didn't shy from challenging us to go bigger with moves we might not have considered but she believed we could accomplish. We switched to working with Krystal midway as Natalie recovered from a broken ankle (but who still showed up!) and it was a seamless transition. We also got extra practice time thanks to Natalie's husband, who also helped capture video, opening the studio while there was a winter storm. There are not enough compliments to give the Move the Beat family for how personable and genuine they all are.

Come wedding day, we felt prepared, comfortable and excited to dance thanks to the creativity and instruction from Move the Beat. Their ability to break down, encourage, fine-tune and guide you through everything was natural and great. Well worth the visit from the city!

best wedding dance choreographer!

While both my wife and I had some experience in the performing arts (my wife is a musician, and I have experience in theater, band, and dance), it was clear we needed some professional help to get our wedding dance where we wanted it to be. Rebecca at Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Alexandria, VA, was excellent. She immediately was able to assess our strengths and weaknesses and helped meet us at our respective skill levels. She also listened to our song, and intrinsically knew exactly what kind of look and feel we wanted our dance to achieve. Best of all, rather than teach us a set choreography, Rebecca taught us how to properly lead, follow, and adapt to different dance floor sizes, meaning that every time we danced it ended up looking a little bit different, but also that we would be ready for anything when the actual day came. As our skill and comfort level improved, and we wanted to add a few more steps and moves into our routine, she not only incorporated more advanced training into our classes, she went out of her way to work with her studio for us to keep a “new student discount rate” for a few more classes when we asked for it (we had originally signed up for 6 lessons as opposed to 10 lessons, but she worked to keep the rate for an additional 3 lessons upon our request to give us the additional time needed). The first dance can be a stressful thing to think about prior to the wedding, but Rebecca helped us through our nerves and stumbles during practice. The day of the wedding, my wife and I walked into the reception with confidence and comfort, and not only had a lot of fun with our dance, but also looked really good doing it, at least according to our guests! None of this would have been possible with Rebecca’s skill, patience, and excellent ability to teach both how to lead and how to follow…thank you!

My fiancé and I signed up for 5 dance classes before our wedding. We had the best time with Ksusha! She helped us learn how to rumba and to build in spins and turns. She designed choreography to song so that we are comfortable and ready for our first dance! We really appreciated her help and her tips for the changes in the room and situation once all of our friends and family are around us.

I highly recommend La Clave Cubana! I have done classes with Daniela and Rey and learned so much. They are each highly skilled dancers with a wide breadth of knowledge with respect to Cuban dances and are above all patient, encouraging and effective teachers. Furthermore, they just know how to create a really fun environment in which to learn. Great for dance newbies or seasoned latin dancers looking to add some depth and flavor to their dancing.

I just recently had my renewal of vows and my dad and I wanted to do something special. A neighbor had worked with Forever Dancing for her mother/daughter dance and highly recommended the team. We did five evening lessons which worked so well with our schedules, and we learned different choreography to match the multiple songs I mixed together. I played the track for Fabio during our first rehearsal and he ran with it!

I am very pleased with the Dance Sport Academy services. My 3 y.o. daughter is taking baby ballet classes with Ms. Vera, who is exceptional in professionalism and communicating with small kids. Her lessons are diversified in the types of activities and movements and geared towards accommodating the needs of the little ones, introducing them to the world of dance and music. Great experience! If you have an active toddler, I strongly recommend classes with the DC DanceSport Academy, and especially with Ms. Vera!

Lydia's studio is fantastic! The coaches are very talented and she offers a wide variety of group classes. I've been going to her studio for years and the classes are always fun and exciting!

I came into Arthur Murray Alexandria from a Groupon over 3 years ago and it has honestly changed my life. I’ve always loved dancing at clubs or with friends, but it never occurred to me that I could learn how to actually dance, until I stepped foot into their studio. The instructors are amazing and truly tailor their lessons to each individual’s goal, whether it be just to learn to social dancing or even compete in amateur competitions. The group classes are challenging and fun no matter what level you are at, and the people there are warm and welcoming. I have grown such an amazing dance family there over the last 3 years, and even through challenging times with Covid, the studio and its staff have adapted to meet all safety guidelines and still make dance just as fun as ever. They have social distanced lessons, group classes, and social hours in studio as well as being able to participate in all of those through zoom.
To anyone who is thinking of learning how to dance, all I can say is YOU CAN DO IT, you’ll wonder why you waited so long to try.

Reinier and Daniela Valdes are excellent instructors who really know how to teach, not just dance. Steps are introduced gradually working up to the complete routine. Even beginning dancers feel comfortable. I dance much better after every class. Their Seattle Cuban Dance Festival in July was the highlight of the year with excellent visiting dancing stars teaching and performing. The music and dancing at the fabulous Club Sur each night were very memorable. I highly recommend them!

This studio provides some of the highest quality dance training I have ever experienced due to the expert instruction. DC DanceSport Academy provides quality instruction to all levels of dancers in a lovely and professional studio. Highly recommend this studio for all those wanting to learn to dance, regardless of age and dance experience, but especially for the serious dancers who are involved in competing and performing. Lydia organizes several elite workshops, and dance camps a year for both adult students and for her much younger students, and brings in the best world champions to teach at these workshops. The group classes offered are exceptional, ranging from basic technique classes to more advanced master classes, and practice rounds. Lydia is an amazing, encouraging, enthusiastic, technical, and talented teacher, and what I love most about Lydia, is that she never stops learning and growing as an instructor. Whether it’s a private lesson with Lydia, or participating in a group class, watching Lydia’s body movements, and her flair for styling, is inspirational for me. As a woman, learning from a woman is equally important for me. Lydia will make you feel beautiful and special, while inspiring you to move your body in ways you never thought possible.

Best dance studio I've ever been a part of. The instructors are top-notch, teaching lots of technique and fun moves in advanced classes. The students make a great community, it's always a pleasure to practice together with strong dances. The studio itself is beautiful, has gorgeous space, really nice floor, two walls of mirrors, and no columns! I've been dancing here since the studio opened, and it's a pleasure to see how it grows.

My wife Brittany and I have had a fantastic and transformative experience dancing at Forever Dancing Ballroom! We found them at one of their open house events and immediately booked a package of lessons with Fabio for our wedding. Our dance lessons were always a fun break from wedding planning, and we left every dance lesson feeling better than we did when we walked in. It was exciting to learn new moves and choreography at every lesson. At first, we thought the techniques were difficult, but with practice and good coaching, we were able to learn the steps and perform a romantic and fun first dance at our wedding. I got to check out this studio for a workshop event and loved the studio. t It's really big inside with lots of parking spaces. The floors are amazing and fun to dance on. Teachers are very knowledgeable and bring famous champions almost every month. weather you are an advanced dancer or a beginner I highly recommend Alexandria Ballroom for dance classes.

This place is great. I've been taking lessons here for about a year and a half and I'm having best time of my life! The staff is great ! They take the time to get to know you and help you in any way they can even if you a tone deaf like me. I love the encouragement I get from the dancers that are clearly have been dancing for much much longer than I have. Occasioanlly one of the instructors play music too loud but the other instructors and management handle it very well.
Also it's probably the biggest dance floor in the area and when it's a lot of people there in the evening there's still a place for everyone to practice.
would definitely recommend for anyone of any age and skill level to come and give it a try.

Leading up to my wedding, my fiance and I decided we'd like to do something for ourselves while planning and take dance lessons. Originally, what we had in mind was just a couple dance steps that would make it so we weren't just swaying to the music. When we met Danielle at First Dance Studio, she had so many nice ideas to put together a dance to our song that wasn't completely choreographed but had a nice movement to it that would keep our audience engaged. We really looked forward to our dance lesson each week with Danielle. At first, having never taken dance lessons, we were both a little unsure, but Danielle's warmth, patience, and knowledge made the nerves disappear after the first lesson! We looked forward to seeing her at our lesson each week and we definitely plan on taking lessons with her again in the future!

I've been going to Arthur Murray Dance in Baltimore for about 8 months and have had nothing but positive experiences since I joined. Arthur Murray has helped me immensely when it comes to feeling confident when dancing and would recommend their studio to anyone interested in learning dance. They offer a wide variety of dance styles, so there is something for everyone. All of the teachers there have been professional but personable. Tiffanie, my personal instructor, has been incredible. Her ability to balance critiquing without criticizing has been huge, especially for someone like me who feels self-conscious when dancing. Our lessons always are a ton of fun and take place in a very relaxed environment. Their have group parties on Fridays that always get a good turnout and gives you a chance to meet some of the other students as well as dance with other instructors. This is very helpful as it allows you to get another professional's perspective and a chance to learn something in a different way than your instructor may explain it as well as get to know the other students there. Arthur Murray is a quality dance studio and would recommend to anyone looking to learn dance in a fun, upbeat environment.

The dancers are very well trained and were both patient and supportive with me. I gained a better understanding for the varieties of styles of dancing and was able to select the ones that I wanted to focus on. They also include multiple avenues to socialize, debut and practice my skills weekly. The cost is steep but you definitely get what you are paying for! I could actually pass for a formally trained ballroom dancer now...not a professional yet though...Lol

The lead instructor was great. My husband and I needed a lesson before our wedding and since we hadn't taken lessons in years, he provided us some basic steps and really put us at ease with doing our "First Dance" at our wedding. It turned out so well and we received a lot of compliments on how natural we looked. Since we usually looked very much beginners when we did ballroom dancing previously, we give our instructor a lot of credit for providing us with good instructions and making it fun too. We truly enjoyed our First Dance. Plus, the place is really nice and clean with parking available and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

My husband and I have been coming for lessons for over 3 years! Fabulous group of instructors and other students. Great exercise and fun, too. My husband was never much of a dancer, but he gets complements now when we go out.
