Despite what seems is never ending construction at the Silver Spring Station, my transfer from the S9 Metrobus to the Red Line to the Rhode Island Avenue station went smoothly.
It's a Saturday, so no surprise there was single-tracking on the Red Line. Thankfully, I only had to wait to about 10 minutes for a train. I was glad that even with the construction on the platform, there are still a number of shelters to escape from a brisk, chilly wind. (11/23/24)

The metro station is relatively clean and safe. There are a lot of people that jump paying fares. As a paying customer, it is very frustrating that Metro doesn’t crackdown on fares violations and improve riders safety and security. There is ample room for improvement to bring back more riders to the transit system.
I genuinely appreciate utilizing the Silver Spring Metro and bus services, as they are integral to my daily commute and convenience. However, it is evident that the facility would greatly benefit from a dedicated cleanup crew to address the pervasive issues of escalator cleanliness and the prevalent pigeon droppings. Despite these areas for improvement, I must commend the staff for their commendable service and amiable demeanor. Overall, I have a strong affection for the metro system.
It is no where near sea port village. I still had to walk another 15 minutez. Boo.
to be honest, I have to go here because it's the closest station to where I live, and it makes my commute to school or work easier.
otherwise, I wouldn't come here often at all for anything else. there's homeless people all over frequently, people yelling all the time, and the smell of urine and feces is very, very strong in some places.
don't come here on rainy days, either. the rain shelters do almost nothing to help with the wetness everywhere.

Lots of homeless sleeping and riding on Transit system. Transit police take a quick look around and try to get them off, but miss many as they are laying in the seats. It was busy taking the transit to the Vikings game, and homeless sleeping in many of the seats.
I actually like waiting for busses here. It's well-lit, warm, safe, and has enough seating to comfortably sit and wait for a bus.
For travelers & tourists: this is a good way to get around SD. & an interesting collection of society.
This place went thru a major renovation over the years. Much easier to get around especially for a disabled veteran using a power scooter. The only problem is the homeless that hang around there doing drugs. Now, that the DFL legalized marijuana this area will be crime ridden much like California and Denver, CO. Google this fact for yourself.
One of the machine doesn’t work. The park and ride bus takes forever. Between the time parking my car and getting on bus took over an hour
This Metro Station is the same size as the WMTA Union Station in DC. It looks new and is very clean and safe
Great connection to Minneapolis downtown. Did not have to wait. Reasonably priced.

Overall: 2.75. Conveniently located in walking distance from downtown Silver Spring. Options to connect via metro and/or bus. Advise to avoid this station after hours due to poor lighting and safety concerns. Also, needs to be better maintained in terms of cleanliness.

Not to crowded, still busy at it's get.
Riding the trolley with my son is the funniest time for us. We go alot of different place but seaport village is a really cool place to walk around and shop, eat, drink, or just relax and watch the sea sights.
Its nice if you like cops breathing down your neck for no reason and a bunch of people asking you for cigarettes the whole time you're there...
Ex's Past
Really convenient because it's difficult and expensive to drive here. Use this for transportation if you need to get somewhere fast. But walking around this area is recommended for seeing the sights.
Nice and clean station.
This is a great stop to see what San Diego has to offer. Seaport Village, The Midway, the Unconditional Surrender statue and the Embarcadero are all walking distance.
