How this school is still running has be the will of some cult because it makes no sense that it should be functioning let alone be considered a college!?
It's always dirty, all the departments leave you on hold, no one wants to do their job, and the whole place is soul draining. The entirety of the school either needs to be renovated or torn down completely inside and out. Meaning a ton of people need to be fired.
Please DON'T go here unless you have a passion for learning on your own and capable of unwavering will to excel because this school will NOT help you do that. It will test you instead of giving you support....such a disappointment

Great school but competitive people and kids at the time my family attended in 2006. My brother doesn’t remember with it being so long ago but kids would steal each other’s assignments in the library to sabotage one another before apps/smartphones/AI and all this social media hate speech junk/etc. I remember having to guard his backpack in the library because he was top of his class..

If you’re doing communication design or any art-related major here, run immediately. After nearly graduating 7 yeas ago, supposedly top of my class with an exact 4.0 GPA, nominated valedictorian and numerous praises from my classmates and professors for my “professional” work, I’ve not gotten a single stable job at any point. I’ve been out of work for longer than I’ve been employed. After thorough evaluation of my own work, I realize that this school has failed me and didn't pushed me enough when I was there. I’ve seen fresh graduates from other schools who have much more refined portfolios. If you major in design here, keep in mind that you’ll be doing low-tier work and you’ll have to waste a lot of your time growing otherwise you’ll never get hired. I tried to email the communication design department (almost every faculty member on the list) to ask for some resources or advice and not a single person got back to me. I truly regret doing design especially at city tech. It was a lot of money wasted and I know people will say that you have to guide yourself to become a professional, but if your education didn't give you a good start, it takes at least half a decade to gain experience. It's embarrassing now at the age where I should be starting a family, I'm spending my time revamping old school work because I can't get hired and I have bills to pay.

Depending on your major your experience may vary. From my experience I dealt with the Computer Science department. There are some that are very good at their job, But unfortunately there are some that don't care and are poor with communicating with students on specific topics.
Yea we can Google topics we may not know, but many people are paying for college so shouldn't it a privilege to ask questions from the professor? If the professor is going to have an attitude if you ask a question or respond in a snarky manner, then what is the point?
Mostly dissatisfied with my experience at Citytech.

Very interesting and historical part of the school

School is dirty, cleaning crew never clean tables and chairs it's always dirty. Restrooms sometimes don't have any hand soap. The academic building barely has enough seats for students to lounge in during break.

This is the worst school ever. Imagine having only two classes left to graduate and they are all closed. Went to the school for help, they said email the chairperson for a pass. I sent out two emails to him asking for a pass for EET 2271, he didn't even care to reply back. The staff members don't even care about the students, the school's only scamming their students. They don't even provide enough classes for graduate students. How am I even going to graduate? WORST SCHOOL EVER. DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT CHOOSE THIS SCHOOL.

Awesome lobby...80 ft high glass walls, running 200 feet each way, too form a right angle at intersection of Tillary & Jay streets. You get glimpse of this building coming off the Brooklyn Bridge, but walking into it offers another experience. The eye is regaled by complex geometric interior, and looking out , by sweeping view of the new skyscraper towering over St James Cathedral. Definitely worth a visit!

An extremely interesting museum. They arrange free tours about the house. It was very informative and educational.

The best college experience you can get. Free Mac, tuition, and study abroad money and a great education at a CUNY school right in the middle of NYC.

Fr. Briese is the living memory of this institution, and that is so sad.

City Tech is defiantly better than most CUNY schools and it's in Downtown BK

Made easy to access from a ride and easy to find.

Currently studying in this college. One of the best colleges under The City University of New York. Everyone is friendly. and a lot of opportunities hang around the college. A great place to start a career.

I am just finishing up my last year at Rhodes and I have loved every second about it. I am more than prepared to go to graduate school because of the incredible academics offered here. The school does an unbelievable job of integrating a small liberal arts school into the incredibly diverse and culturally sophisticated city of Memphis. Fantastic college experience! Would recommend to anyone and everyone!

Fantastic academics and amazing professors. Memphis is also a great location for internships, work experience, etc. The connections made and skills learned at Rhodes will leave you more than prepared for the workforce come graduation. Rhodes does an excellent job challenging their students and integrating them into the greater Memphis community. I would highly recommend Rhodes to anyone who sees the merit in a liberal arts education.

Would not have changed my experience at Rhodes for anything else. Great school that fostered my personal growth. Lasting connections with Professors have meant the world to me in my professional career.

This was a very relaxing place with an outdoor area. Great for events!

Love spending time here. Wish I got to be here more often.

I would not give up my experiences at Rhodes for anything. I was fortunate to go on to do graduate work at Duke and a law degree from Washington & Lee. Rhodes prepared me. Wonderful college and people. Though these few reviews show differently, I have not known anyone who did not love the college.

My other Alma mater! This building is really great, lots of comfortable working place, screening room, cabaret style space in the basement, patio out back. It's perfect.
I think it used to be a museum as well. I've spoken here as well. The staff are all wonderful. AV is great...we did pop a projector bulb mid speech, but those things have a lifespan. They gotta die at some point.

I enjoyed my academic experience there. It wasn't terribly challenging or anything, but they offer a lot of interesting classes. I had a few really great professors that were very influential to me. And one thing I loved was the small classes (my gf had a 400 level class with 4 people in it once), and the fact that a lot of professors were very accessible outside of class.
On the other hand, the student body was very one-dimensional. I constantly felt like I was meeting the same person over and over again. The large majority of people at Rhodes come from similar socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds as well as have similar interests, values, and goals. Campus social life primarily revolves around Greek life. They tout that everyone finds their niche at Rhodes, but what really happens is you usually learn how to fit into the "Rhodes" niche. If you don't find yourself fitting into the Rhodes niche, don't worry. There are other people who feel the same way you do, and by junior year small pockets of people will emerge outside the Rhodes bubble that you might enjoy integrating into. However, this is a very small number of people, and you'd more than likely have enjoyed yourself better at a school that was actually diverse. Don't underestimate how important diversity is before you go to college.
Also the administration sucks and is useless.

Great school.

More than thirty years ago, I attnded programs here while in college.

Very nice historic house to tour

I'm a student and I looooove the library at Roosevelt House!! It's so peaceful and quiet and just the perfect environment to do homework. I can't wait for a break in between semesters so I can finally have time to browse the AMAZING selection of books!! :)

There is not a day that goes by that I do not miss Rhodes College. The doors it opened and the opportunities I had to not only impact communities but be impacted by them will stick with me forever. Rhodes helped me to develop into an individual that values the humanness in everyone. It challenged me to look at the life that I am living and ask myself how I can utilize this life to help others find joy in their lives. I made some amazing friends! I still keep in contact with the administration and go to alumni events quite often. I graduated in '12 and, though I understand many of my peers had experiences where they felt like diversity was an issue, my experience was one of inclusiveness. I was able to mingle with all people and make friends across societal divisions. It was an absolutely amazing four years. My advice to prospective students is to reach out if you find that you need help. The support here is tremendous. I don't think I would have made it without Carol Casey, Dean Laakso, and Walt Tennyson! If I could go back I would. I really would.

One of New York City's hidden gems. A magnificent property which was owned and occupied by members of the Roosevelt family for almost half a century and is still in use by Hunter College and a Policy Studies Institute. At time of writing guided tours are only available on Saturdays, for individuals and small groups, and Fridays, for larger groups. Pre-booking is recommended because otherwise availability is not guaranteed. Tours, guided by well-informed staff, provide fascinating insights into FDR and Eleanor's campaigns and lives before, during and after the time they owned the property. Well worth taking the trouble to make a reservation and take the tour.

Rhodes College gives the appearance of a great campus with high security. While it has some excellent professors, the administration is very disappointing. They do not really care about the students, and diversity is definitely not encouraged or supported. There is also a big drug and alcohol problem on campus, and nothing is really done to address it.

Definitely one of the best college experiences in the world (if not THE best if you take advantage of all its offerings). Turns NYC into your learning playground. Highlights:
1. Cultural passport that gets you into the best venues and museums for free.
2. Priority course registration at your CUNY campus home base, but with the option to take any class offered over the 8+ CUNY campuses.
3. Graduate without debt, free to pursue your passion.
As a former student, I was skeptical going in. 4 years later, thanks to Macaulay's resources, I've been put on my current path, directing a science education nonprofit straight out of college.

Greatest college in NYC! Free tuition, study abroad, best faculty in the country, and most interesting students ANYWHERE on earth.

Being an alum of the Macaulay Honors College, I have to say that I'm glad I decided on the Macaulay Honors College. With FREE tuition, a FREE Apple laptop, a $7500 opportunity fund which can be used for study abroad, our own advisors, honors classes that are cross campus and this beautiful building that students can use as a spot to study, have club meetings, etc, it is one of the best decisions I have made, without being in debt after graduation. The Macaulay Honors College also hosts public events that invite some of the best known authors and celebrities for book readings, such as R.L. Stine and Carla Hall.
