Reviews

Absolutely an amazing experience. Ryan is a very nice person and truly there to make the kayak rental experience for his customers effortless. The store has amazing food and the bait shop has anything you need for your fishing trip. I absolutely recommend Caney Fork River Rentals.

Such a great experience! The canoes were nice and relatively new. Great equipment and great service. Drop off and pick up was smooth and made for such a relaxing time. They were so easy to work with. We will definitely be back soon!

Used Silver Hill Float Service because they were the only Buffalo River service that did not essentially “valet” your car, I personally did not want someone driving my car and Silver Hill Shuttled you like I would except! great service and the float was great, would def use again!!!

I never give below 4 as I understand the complexities of managing a company but I feel the ball was missed here.
I booked a trip and something came up. Instead of offering to reschedule the trip they said I had to waste the $90.
They could have had me back and won a customer for life but instead fell a little short which pushed us to go somewhere else next time.
What would it have cost them to allow me to move the date? Probably not much at all if anything. Just a small thought :)

Beautiful lake for picnic, got place to sit and some amusement park. Got boats too. Big parking before main park. Close at 9PM. The dam itself isn't in very good condition and may smell during hot temperatures

Caney Fork River Rentals is 100% a great operation. Top notch service, family owned and they take pride in their service. Was on a quick trip with my girlfriend on the 4th of July and we loved the service we received. We are bringing our families back at the end of the month. HIGHLY RECOMMEND using Caney Fork River Rentals!!

Wonderful park with great scenery. The parking lot can fill up on special holidays/weekends though. Has a great trail loop that is about 3.5-4 miles BUT it can be hard to navigate the first time. It dumps you out in the middle of a neighborhood. Just keep straight up the hill and a school will be on your left. Keep going all the way down the hill and the trail picks up again at the bottom.
You might want to use All Trails navigation, as.therr are a couple other spots where you won't be sure which way to turn.
Lots of shade though for the trail loop and it's a wide path, so you won't feel like bikers are on top of you.
Highly recommend.

I loved the location by the water, it's spacious and they have an outdoor shower you can use. There is a wide variety of wild life that my family and I really enjoyed. If I have a complaint it would only be that the hill has a lot of erosion from rain, but I don't think there's much anyone can do about that. Also, on the website it says there is waste disposal but there isn't. Despite that, I loved it here and will be back! The attendant is friendly and answered all of our questions.

Such an awesome experience. Super friendly staff and very helpful. They took care of everything for us. My 6 year old had a blast. Can’t wait to go again!

This is the best float service on the river! I love that their people shuttling service is included in their rental price! Great people who run the company who will take care of everything you need. Thanks you for the great two days of floating!

We had a wonderful experience with Silver Hill Float Service.
The location and the service was fantastic. We really appreciated the quick and friendly service too!

Super nice people! I had to reschedule a couple of times and they didn't give me any trouble. Will be using them again!

I organize a large father-daughter canoe trip every year to Tyler Bend campground. We typically have 125-140 dads & daughters. We keep coming back to this camp ground and float site b/c of Monte at Silver Hill Rentals. With a group this big, it takes a certain company to handle us and they do it flawlessly. My communication starts in February each year with Monte and his responsiveness and professionalism is fantastic. Our canoes and rafts are always set up and ready to go and they shuttle the entire group back via busses and vans when we’re done. Can’t say enough about how well he takes care of us and has for the last five years. Thank you, Monte and the Silver Hill team that makes this weekend great for us every year.

This park was so close to my house that I come here often , even on a weekend you still can find some picnic table and grill. They also have an ice cream truck in the afternoon if you would like some refresh after a trailwalk. Love this place !!!

Logan and Landon were super fun, relaxed, cheery, and made me feel safe for my 1st experience Zip Lining! The whole group was great to work with, very professional. Beautiful scenery with lots of adventure possibilities!

I had an amazing experience the other day while buying kayak supplies. This employee Will Marlowe helped me get all of the necessary supplies so that I was safe on the river as well as carrying my kayaking with his coworkers AJ and Sam. They also gave me a push off as well as helped me get back onto the dock. I could not have a better experience thanks to these amazing employees.

It was a great experience loved every minute we were there 3 days then got rained out but will go back water is very chilly but worth it the brim or perch as we call them we're absolutely beautiful my boy loved every second he got to fish a must see

Great time today with Logan, Chase and Zach on the pontoon tour of the snake river. They made it so much more fun than a typical narrated tour. And we were even able to help some people out that had a emergency. Great bunch of young guys. Wish we had more time and it had been longer!

Beautiful area for canoeing but the biting flies were so bad on our float Memorial Day weekend it ruined it. :(

Awesome experience, just need to reserve in advance for kayaking or need to have your own boat.

Jill was excellent! I needed a slip for my seadoo last year and she couldn’t be more accomodating! Also from the customers who loved the jet ski rentals to the shop and the staff I can’t say enough good things they were great! See you this summer!

What an amazing staff and company! They were gracious enough to take my son’s 3rd grade class kayaking and they had such a great time!!! Thank you so much for making it such a great experience!

Please do not use this company! Their canoes are fine, but to reach a bayou you have to paddle for about 1/2 hour on heavily trafficked waterways with lots of airboats and barges. In addition, Tina, who was filling in for the owner did not provide us with a map and could not coherently explain where we were supposed to paddle. Finally, they told us that we would never get an Uber to pick us up and so sold us an overpriced ride back on their shuttle bus which did not leave for over an hour and a half - when we did check Uber, they came in less than 15 minutes. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

We have used Monty and Silver Hill for several years, they always do a great job with a great price and are easy to work with. We are very grateful for them!

A good outfitter. Got us in and out of the store quickly. Gentlemen at the put in spot were effective and friendly. The take out was quick and easy. The store has the basics.

Called for some info and they were VERY HELPFUL would highly recommend this place !

Went once and wouldn’t go back. The staff cursed at us and the directions given were unsafe and unclear. I hope they change their business practices.

Fran was super nice and helpful. She showed us the map and it was easy to follow. The trip was easy, serene, beautiful, and exactly what we were looking for. We did see a good amount of alligators but they didn’t bother us. 10/10 highly recommend if you want to see the swamp up close and get a workout at the same time!

The easiest and friendliest way to float the Caney Fork. Professional, accommodating, and funny. Book your trip with them!

Thanks for the amazing zip line experience Bill and Ted are a pretty funny duo. It nice to see that companies are still willing to help these 2 “special “ lads stay employed.
Just kidding. Tyler and Logan are awesome, made the experience a lot of fun. I highly recommend they get promoted.

Service was nice. One star to warn people of the location. You have to paddle FAR to get where you need to go and paddle through a EXTREME wake zone. You will be drenched in water and fatigued before you see any alligator. Other than that price is good.

Great place to go camping, very clean, and several campsites on the creek. Excellent part of the river to canoe. Very nice people own this private camp ground and keep it looking spectacular.

The park itself is small but has a nice view of the lake. Nice outdoor sheltered facilities for groups. The trail around the lake was itself uninspiring. A section of it goes through a residential area and is not well marked. For me, the better choice for a hike is to start at Wakefield park, walk to the Lake Accotink Marina, maybe have a light picnic lunch and then go back the same way. A more interesting time, in my view. Two cautions: 1. don’t go off the trail. I got a severe case of poison ivy just stepping to the side to let cyclists pass. 2.The trail can flood and be quite muddy (and the muddy water hides the poison ivy.).

Awesome trails that are well taken care of, but very busy especially when the weather is nice.

They have such cool stuff!

You will see alligators. And lots. I took my friend from out of town for a trip to the bayou. Service was good and the employees were very helpful. The bayou you kayak down is super serene and full of wildlife. We saw countless beautiful birds, tons of alligators, and heard some hogs. It’s such a peaceful kayaking trip and you’ll even like the drive down here. It’s really affordable and a great way to spend the afternoon.
Tip for navigating the water ways: use the satellite mode on google maps. The normal mode shows old bayous, some of which are currently inaccessible.
To the owner- this is exactly what I wanted out of my day so thank you!!

When making plans to come here with my three kids on a Sunday morning in December, I was unaware the playground had been updated. It was a very pleasant surprise when we arrived. At ten am on a mild December day, there was only one other family there and for a good period of time we had the place to ourselves. When we left around noon, it was a popular spot for other families.
In regards to the new equipment, I was thrilled to see what had replaced the older playground. My kids are ages 4, 7, and 11. The swingset has two traditional swings, one toddler swing, and one of the newer toddler/parent type swings. There are some game type pieces, and musical equipment, plus a little house/store area. The bigger equipment contains a very large curly tunnel slide and one of those rope climbing structures. There is no smaller tot lot type slides or climbing structures. My older two loved the slide and my 4 year old tried it with them eventually, even though she had reservations. It is totally dark at the top since it is enclosed and fairly long. I'm a big fan of the rope climbing structures for a wider age range, not to mention parent visibility if there are any issues. My 11 year old didn't immediately comment about being bored and spent a lot of time climbing around before our friends joined us. I appreciate playgrounds that engage the older kids like that.
One thing I hadn't seen before was the use of light on a playground. There are a few tall pieces with translucent colored panels that filter the light through to the ground when the sun shines through them. One of them will spin if a child turns it. I appreciate this extra dimension to engage the kids on a new level.
Since it is winter the closer bathroom and water fountains are closed. The bathroom above the playground is still open, but the water fountains up there are also off.
Before we went home, we stopped on the beach to admire all the birds. Geese are common there, but there were also sea gulls and two other types of birds that seemed possibly swan like and perhaps cormorants. The area to the left of the dock is full of trash, as per usual.

Perfect and flexible service. 36 alligator sightings. One ~12+ footer.

Thank you very much for the rental, everthing was perfectly fine. We saw a big and a baby gator and several birds. You have to be in shape it is a long way to padel, but its worth it!

We were there Labor Day weekend. The young lady in their store was very nice, personable and polite. Check-in was very easy and quick. Our driver to the river was great and so was the gentleman when we turned in our canoe. They explained everything clearly and accurately. They want you to have a great time on the river! The driver gave us a few tips that were helpful. Overall a great experience and we would use them again!

This was an absolutely beautiful experience.
The river was so scenic and awesome. The family at Caney Fork Rentals took care of absolutely everything: great kayaks, transportation, a store with bait and last minute items, etc. It is a must do. Highly recommended.

Knowledgeable , very friendly and fun crew. We hat a great parasailing experience, during the sailing itself, but also as passengers ob the boat. Great fun, would definitely do again!

It is a serene, lovely park with great facilities and a breathtaking vista.
Perfect for a family picnic or afternoon walk in the park with young children.
The lakeside walk is well-maintained and clearly marked.
The trail is lined with numerous seats for seating.
There are beautiful picnic places beneath the towering trees. The trees create a large shade area so that you can rest from the intense summer sun.

Wonderful experience with my 2 boys. We had so much fun the first day we went back the next day. We went down the Caney last year because we saw the billboards for a competitor. The other company goes out of the way to bash this business, it really is pathetic. If you want to have a better feel for this area go with Caney Fork River Rentals. The owners have been in the area for generations and will give you great history lessons, if you seem interested, on the shuttle over. The other guys seem way too touristy and overcharge for their “fees and service”. All the locals go with Caney Fork River Rentals for a reason. Pick this company and ask for the REAL story behind the self proclaimed Pirate of the Caney… the name is fitting.

The people here were terrific. Beach Haven Watersports is clearly run by a bunch of professionals who care about giving their customers a great experience. We rented a pontoon and had a great time. An added bonus was the gift shop on site. Lots of cool shirts, gifts and other items to purchase to remember your trip to LBI. We bought my daughter a T-shirt at the shop. We got home and realized there was a defect; we brought it back and they gave us a replacement, no questions asked (and let us keep the original purchase!). Can’t recommend them enough.

We did the kayak tour, with “Cool Logan” and “Avery” as our guides. The tour is fantastic and our guides did a great job, they were very knowledgeable and have great personalities. They were also very attentive and concerned for our safety, pointing out potential dangers and offering a helping hand when needed. The tour is well organized, AWOL communicated with us prior to the tour and prepared us for what we were going to experience. This tour is a physical activity, you need to be reasonably fit and able kayak 4 miles round trip and trek through water and rocks to reach the kayaks. If you choose to rent a kayak and do it yourself you have to paddle 8 miles round trip and pack your kayak about 200 yards over rocks up and back. We saw quite a few people doing this but most of them looked exhausted and some were really struggling. The advantage to buying a tour, is you get to do the first two miles by motorized boat and the kayaks are waiting for you at the end of the rocky, shallow water trek so it can be done much quicker and is less strenuous; our tour took approximately 3 hours. The falls were at the highest allowable level for kayak tours to operate so we were lucky enough to experience the full force of the falls. This tour is well worth the time and money, we debated about renting kayaks and doing it ourselves but after seeing the physicality it entails, we were so glad we hired a tour company.

We had the very best experience today with Georgia and Logan! They were so fun, informative, took loads of pictures for us and made sure every aspect of the trip was seamless. My only regret is that we waited so long to book this! We will absolutely be back for more fun, soon.

Lake Accotink park in Springfield has a lot to offer. There is a lovely walking path, including an enclosed overpass to look down on the train tracks below. Accessibility note: the path around Lake Accotink has sharp inclines at times, and not all of it is paved. This may make it harder for people like me with mobility issues to navigate.
Of course, there is the lake itself, which is bigger than one might imagine. Individuals can rent paddle boats or get kayak lessons. There is wildlife to be seen if one pays attention. (See the turtle and heron pictures…)
For families with children, there is a carousel and miniature golf. There are pavilions that one can rent for parties, or other get-togethers, but there are also picnic tables for public use. There was even an ice cream truck near the pavilion while I was there. All in all, a very family-friendly place.

Awesome place nice leisurely float, kid friendly. Will return this summer for camping and beautiful scenery. Great job Cadron Creek outfitters.

We called around to find a shuttle since we were bringing our own boats, and Buffalo River Canoes offered the lowest price of three outfitters we called. Others have stated in their reviews that they were not told how the shuttle service worked, but all the outfitters we contacted worked the same way, and this was thoroughly explained at the time of the inquiry (by all three outfitters). The office staff was very knowledgeable about river conditions and what could be expected, and helped us choose a better section of the river more suited to our plans. As it turns out, the weather was a little miserable and we also dumped one of our boats and therefore decided to get off the river two days early. We were standing there in the parking lot of Kyle's Landing with no cell service and wondering how we were going to get back to civilization when a Buffalo River Canoes truck pulled up. They happened to be down there to pick up a day float, but they dropped their trailer and ran to get our van for us right then. It was a lifesaver. When we finally got our stuff loaded and stopped at the office on the way out, they also helped us find a place to stay for the night. These guys went out of their way to accommodate our needs. Thank you!

We have been here 3 times and it has always been positive. I do not know "the lady" people refer to in other reviews, but there is nothing wrong with her at all. If you own your own business, understand insurance liability, or just have any general awareness, you will understand that she does not have time to coddle tourists that don't even try to pay attention to basic rules. If you want to rent a boat or jet ski, simply pay attention, and follow the rules.

AMAZING! The owners were great to work with. We changed from a canoe to a kayak when we got there and they were right on it. Check in is quick! You aren’t far from where you are put in and about a mile or so back from where you are picked up. I have always used a different rental company but I will definitely switch to Caney Fork River Rentals from now on. Thank you CFRR! Keep up the good customer service and work!

Long time LBI visitors - decided to add jet ski rentals to our fun this week. Place was well equipped and focused on making sure our family knew the rules and how to operate the skis. Staff was all very personable as well. The area in the bay we were escorted to was wide open for plenty of fun on the water! Thanks for the great experience - we will most certainly be back!

If you are considering kayaking up to Shoshone falls definitely do it and take a tour with these guys. They are very professional, knowledgeable, and safety aware. We started at centennial park and boarded a boat to pillar falls. During the boat ride Paul explained the geology, history, and other facts about the canyon and the bridge. He dropped us off with two other guides and we had a short easy walk to the kayak launch point. We then kayaked to Shoshone falls. We were kept a safe distance away from the falls to avoid danger but close enough to be thrilled. Great tour and great service. Highly recommend.

Very polite and helpful staff. Went on a three day two night trip down the river and somehow finished it in only a day and a half with a one night stay. Paid for the shuttle service which put me in a pickle. Was able to call at our destination take out point and they worked hard to get my vehicle to me a day earlier than expected. I was a newbie and they shared information that was very helpful. The young man at drop in told me what to look for as far as overpasses and that we would take out before the second overpass on the third day. This was critical information. When we saw the second overpass on our second day about mid afternoon I began looking around and noticed the take out point at hasty on top of a hill to the right and asked the staff there what takeout point this was and they said hasty.
We never saw the Ozark site. Had a17 yr old young man with me on the trip and he had a good time. Based on my experience with Buffalo River Canoes, I highly recommend them.

Update... We are now open for the season. 2 campgrounds, and paddling. Spring is about to spring into action...
I may be bias now that I work for the owner. However, I have camped here 3 times before meeting John.
Lots to offer. 2 campgrounds. 6+ paddle launches with shuttles available. Many unique campsites you won't see anywhere else. Kayak or Canoe. Class I & II rapids. Cabins and RV spots.
They were also voted number 1 Hipcamp in Arkansas, 2021.
Many more improvements coming in the coming years.

Oh my god! Never had experience of so pathetic and disgusting staff. The main lady who works/owns it is very very rude. She doesn’t have any manners on how to greet and talk to folks. Literally insulted people. If you really care for your money, I recommend staying away from this place. This place is only meant for rude people. Very pathetic experience.

When you state the time of closer and a call is made an hour prior the phone should be answered. Also considering we have made numerous e mails in regaurds to are kayak and we have had no response.

Ethan was beautiful

This place was great! I called ahead a few days earlier for pricing & spoke with the owner. She was very helpful and friendly. She told me it was $90/per half hour for a jet ski rental and $15 for additional riders. She also gave me info on how busy/not busy it would be when we planned to go. When we got there, we were set up right away with our rentals and given instructions on how to use them. They also send out a patrol guy (thanks for saving my hat John!!) with you, if you need help & to keep track of time. Overall, excellent experience and I’d definitely go back!

Had a great experience with PAC. Very helpful and easy to work with. Wife just got her new paddle board through them.
Highly recommend.
Highly recommend.

Fun experience! Friend came down from Chicago and we rented 1 canoe. 6 gators, 1 hog, 2 snakes and serenity! Customer Service was 👍 great.

Excellent company to get your boat from on the river. Very friendly, helpful, and professional. There store has a huge amount of selection. Lots of social distancing measures and precautions being taken.

Just spent the morning here. Great experience and very accommodating. Saw a gator, an egret and a blue heron. Highly recommend, especially if you are interested in a less populated area!

Kind staff, pretty place

Great service and campsite we go every year. It had new facilities including bathrooms and showers. The showers are $2 for two minutes. #Buffalotrip2019

Very friendly and informative staff. We had gone to see about camping in the area and vehicle shuttle for floating tje Buffalo River .

Nice shop, nice help

We had a great time floating the Cadron with the help of Cadron Creek Outfitters. We put in at their campground and went to the highway 285 bridge, about 14 miles. Lots of fun!

I bought a two year old, 14.5 foot sea kayak from the store on Solomon's Island. I found the kayak on Craig's List and paid $600, paddles included. I thought this a good deal because the boat was in great shape. I dealt with the owner of the store, very nice, knowledgeable guy. I drove about two hours to pick up the boat but it was well worth the trip. Moreover, Solomon's Island has a great museum, good restaurants and driving over the bridge felt as if like a state fair ride.

Great little outfitter on the Cadron. Good people running a small business. I've used them two times this summer for vehicle shuttles with no problems. Plus the Cadron is hidden gem of Central Arkansas

Everything went smoothly. I was a first time kayaker, and my experience went very well. The service was great. I will definitely be back for another adventure soon.

Just went on a canoe trip with 2 adults, a child and a puppy. These guys are great, knowledgeable, and friendly. A lady personally made sure we got the correct size life jacket for our child 👍 The canoe was in great shape and we had the best day ever! The water is blue/green, reminded us of the ocean at key west. The scenery was amazing and with Buffalo River Canoes directions, we pulled our canoe out at the river bank and hiked to Hemmed in Hollow Falls. Beautiful! At the end they helped us pull our canoe out too and had our car waiting for us. 5 thumbs up from our family!
