The restaurant was closed for the season. The convenience store was open. The young lady there is really nice.
The men's bathroom near the parking lot was closed. The one at the restaurant location had a very bad odor. Old urine smell. It has not been cleaned well. Got a choking feeling when I entered. Whoever getting paid to keep it clean, should refund their fees .
The views are spectacular. National Airport was sooooo close. The airplanes were a sight to see landing and taking off. The Marina has wonderful decking platforms.

Location is walking distance to the Cranford train station, which made it easy to get there without driving!
Had a great time kayaking and paddle boarding in the bay. Current pulled my nephew a bit far and the young man running the rentals for the day paddled out to help us get him back to safety. Great fun and great service. Will definitely be back!
Great experience. We were going to be in the area around Cheesequake State Park and wanted to do some kayaking. Called Dan and we were lucky to be able to get set up on short notice. We didn't know where to go on our trip so Dan told us where to meet him to launch. When we arrived he was already at the beach with our kayaks, paddles and vests ready to go. He instructed us where to go and it was a beautiful paddle. Pick up was prompt. Very satisfied.
Love the experience ! You can easily book this online. Definitely worth taking the family or a date - prices aren’t super steep either. They charged $90 for (2) double-person Kayaks for an hour. They outline pretty decent boundaries with buoys and give you basic tips to make the most out of your experience. Easy for first timers. However, due it being a recreational park the park charges you about $20 to park for the day. The good thing is that you can also access the beach before or after you kayak and make a whole day trip out of it, complete with a picnic. If you really want to out do yourself - the Twinslight lighthouse is across the bridge and you can climb the top of the tower.

Alex and Omar were fantastic and took great care of us! They are extremely knowledgeable and so kind. We had such a wonderful experience and planning more to come. The cafe is also great for a post-kayak snack and drinks!
Had the best day kayaking the Hudson. Alex and Omar were so kind, helpful, and welcoming! We enjoyed a great view of the George Washington and Tappan Zee bridges while making our way along the beautiful palisades cliffs... Got a good glimpse at a bald eagle flying overhead during our paddle too. We left with a big smile on our faces, excited for next visit... Thank you!
What a fun day! Alex was super kind, his rentals are in fantastic shape, and the views were amazing! We saw in the distance the George Washington Bride, the Tappan Zee Bridge, and bald eagles flying along the shoreline trees.
A couple of my buddies and I had booked a private session for my girl friends birthday. Our instructor Colin was just so amazing! He got to know a little something about everyone, very caring, considerate, and thoughtful. He made sure safety was #1 for everyone so we can have the most fun time there. As we went kayaking as a group he made sure he told us any information about the different events, buildings and ships around. Colin also told us about the different places they visit and activities done there as well. Colin is overall was phenomenal and we couldn’t have asked for a better instructor.
My friends and I did the 7:45PM sunset tour last night. We all had a great time! Normally, we kayak/paddleboard in Manasquan NJ, but wanted to do and experience something different and a change of scenery. Glad the thunderstorms held out as it was a perfect breezy Summer night.
Check in was quick and easy. Layout of the place was spacious. They have restrooms, lockers (bring your own lock), changing rooms and a small lounge area.
Our tour guide Andrew went over some basic paddle movements, commands and our plan/route at the beginning. Then we were off. We also had another guide in the back, but forgot his name, unfortunately.

Manhattan Kayak is a true gem of the city. The boathouse interior is designed to perfection - blending functional forms with a cozy, welcoming environment that would give any 5-star cafes in Manhattan a run for their money. Not only is the staff exceptionally friendly, but they are truly subject matter experts in the field and sport itself. I had the delight of listening into a MasterClass of SUP paddling led by one of their instructors. Never have I had a feeling of almost instantaneous understanding in a completely new discipline before.
The tours into the open water are to die for. I had the pleasure of joining their "Skyline" tour during the sunset hour, and it was an unforgettable experience. Would definitely recommend making a stop at Manhattan Kayak if you are visiting the city and in search of something different, fun, and beautiful.

Alex and his family were so friendly and professional. The equipment was well-maintained. We had a great time kayaking! And grab some food at the Kayak Cafe. It was delicious!
We were enjoying our kayaking trip until we stopped for a photo op. One of the guides offered to take our picture with my girlfriend’s phone and accidentally dropped it in the Hudson River!
The guide was very apologetic and the company rectified the issue by refunding our entire kayaking trip and paying for a new phone. The guides worked with us by providing necessary documentation and have vowed not to use client’s phones in the future.
Overall the trip itself was fun and the the city views were beautiful.

I took my family kayaking for the first time ever as a family event at Hudson kayaks. We had a wonderful time! Everyone was polite, prompt and made great small talk. When you arrive you are seen by Alex first for waivers and he likes to get to know a little about you first. You might see his mini me helping at the front desk, his adorable son with a smile. After your set, you go to the dock where his lovely wife receives you and helps you board the kayaks. Alex is very keen on you enjoying your kayaking experience, to him that’s all that matters. He gave us a gift card when one of our members hopped off early. It was such a great time, I told friends about it and went back the following weekend. Greeted kindly by Alex again, the experience was consistent and just as exemplary as the first time. The second time we went, we got swept by current and went over our time slot by a bit, they watched us doing our best to kayak back in time but the breaks and current pushed us back. To no surprise, Alex and his family had huge smiles when we arrived and didn’t mention nor charge us more when we went over. They were very pleased to see my friend and I enjoying ourselves. I’m more than happy to give 5 stars to a wonderfully operated family business.
We were in the area and needed a lunch stop. Honestly, we stopped just because of the island vibe name and the river front location. This place has so much undeveloped potential! We were very underwhelmed at the atmosphere and the food was slightly below your typical bar and grill fare. We did love the dog friendly outside and the beautiful view, though. There appeared to be plenty of space to dock a canoe, kayak or boat if you were to stop from the river.

My bf and I went here for the first time last weekend and it was AWESOME! The equipment is well maintained and clean and the little kayak cafe is such a lovely addition. Alex and his wife Corine take great care in what they do. I noticed all the little details too — even cute plants on the tables! If you’re looking for something fun to try, I highly recommend kayaking here. It was also a tiny bit more challenging then simple river kayaking as your have to paddle against the current sometimes. So, definitely five stars! Decent prices and a great environment. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
TOTALLY WORTH IT! Alex was so informative and welcoming my bf and I had a wonderful time. The view was beautiful I thought I was in a painting! Called my best friend on the river because I couldn’t wait to share how nice it is. Definitely recommend.

I liked everything, good service, friendly staff. The cost of renting one kayak is $25 per hour. It is better to swim out to the middle of the bay, as there are big waves near the shore and it becomes difficult to row.
Colin Sean and Bella make a great team. Together they provided excellent customer service. We really enjoyed our hour long kayak excursion. The prices were decent. The water was incredibly warm and it was easy to navigate even though it was a bit choppy. Next time we will rent the SUPs.

Had a great time at Sandy Hook Kayak! The staff are AMAZING - Colin, Bella and Sean were super helpful and accommodating. It feels like a small, family-run spot and not your typical commercial shore business. I hadn’t planned to kayak today and wasn’t fully prepared, but it didn’t matter. They offered to hold my bag behind the counter, lent me a complimentary water-tight phone pouch and helped us in and out multiple times as the kids changed their minds. Highly recommend!

What makes this place stand out is the people. The owners father was covering for the day and was a genuinely nice guy. The young dock hands were all extremely kind and polite. Be sure to go to treasure island or gold beach if you go out, was beautiful...

Canoes and ice cream sandwiches on the shady river when it's hot outside. What's not to like. Clean bathrooms. Everything is in good repair. No wait time. Cash only but they have an atm onsite.

We have rented a pontoon for several years now from Scallop Cove Too and each year has been amazing! First, if you are staying on the cape, it is a super convenient location. Also, the on-line reservation system is easy to navigate. The price is very reasonable and the boats are in good condition and easily fit 11. We have a great time checking out the bay and always see dolphins, sand dollars, hermit crabs and this year we caught a small shark!
This was literally so much fun we went kayaking on the hudson and it was a great price. Alex was super cool. We definitely will be coming back. Sam was also really cool he helped us board and get off the kayaks. Overall it was just a fantastic experience. If you’re looking to kayak or have any water experience i highly highly highly recommend Hudson Kayaks <3

Nice place to kayak in north Jersey
It's an excellent place for a picnic and water activities such as kayaking.
Great place to slip a sailboat if you have one. Otherwise, you can rent one, take lessons, picnic, or just enjoy the view of the monuments or the planes land at Reagan Airport. The restaurant is closed. This place is jammed early for Ju4 fireworks.
My 13 yr old son and I ventured out yesterday for our first kayak experience on the Hudson. We were both nervous being that it was our first time on such a large body of water but the staff created a super safe experience. The water was extra choppy due to high wind so they added extra personnel out on the water to help anyone feeling anxious or just having difficulty navigating the conditions. The equipment is well maintained; from the kayaks to the vests. Their facilities are super clean and the price is unbeatable. I have told several friends about the fun we had and we also hope to return in the future. Thank you so much for all that you do!
We always love our day exploring the bay when renting from Scallop Cove Too! Our last two rentals, Zoe has been the one who gets us out in the water & is an exceptional staff member. Truly, even when weather has changed our plans, we have never had anything other than a great experience.

Rented two kayaks in the state park and customer service was fantastic! Zoella was very relaxed and helpful making everyone feel very comfortable. Highly recommend!
Stopped in to inquire about bike rentals and the fellow at the counter was just plain rude! And we were the only people in the store so can’t say they were too busy to be nice. I almost swore off the entire company but they are the only game in the state park so we gave it another go. Zoella in the state park at Scallop Cove Too needs to give this grumpy guy at the bait store some lessons in customer service.

These guys will definitely set you up with all the fishing bait and tackle needed to catch some big fish. And give you some advice on what rigs needed to catching different fish. There always helpful and friendly 😊

Nice cold beer and friendly service! Views of the Wisconsin river are awesome! The only food we tried was the breaded mushrooms and was all breading and salty! It's like they breaded a slice of mushroom instead of the whole mushroom to save money?
Quiet little pub on the edge of town. The chicken noodle soup was fantastic. Plenty of room around the pool tables to take your shot. Right on te water. Huge dock to go fishing from. I have never been here before but I really did like the atmosphere they created here. The staff was very polite and the prices are reasonable. I definately plan to return eventually.

I’ve never been in a canoe before much less rowed it. Went on an adventure with my boyfriend who knows his way around a canoe. What a great experience. And the canoe rental staff was very patient. I mean VERY patient. When we got back I could t get out of the canoe and they were so nice about it. Thankfully I didn’t fall in. If you’ve never been in a canoe go with someone who knows how to row. Totally had a blast. Can’t wait to do it again. Beautiful river to row down. We did it in under 2 hours and that’s basically one person rowing. Highly recommend.

My husband my son and myself drove up to cranford for my 1st kayaking experience this morning. Very clean. A very friendly young gentleman helped us get started. It was a very serene trip on the river. I thought it was reasonably priced and we had a great time but man my arms are sore. We will be back.
We had a blast kayaking but the woman behind the bar were absolutely disrespectful. When we first walked in and said this was our first time kayaking the first woman laughed at us with another customer. Once we came back to get our ID the second lady mocked me as I was walking out the door. To say the least, we will not be returning. There are plenty of places out there that offer kayaking with a good atmosphere.
We've rented a pontoon from Scallop Cove Too a few times now. But first, they are on Eastern Time. So pay attention to that. Renting the pontoon online is easy to do. Emma who've helped us set sail all the times we rented, is the best, she deserves a raise. We always have fun taking the boat out and plan on doing so everytime we visit Cape San Blas.

Best sand fleas on the cape. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Reasonably priced for a vacation town. They got me on several new species. Plus, when I got there the dude at the counter was like "Alexa, play .38 Special, and that was awesome.
Live shrimp are very lively and robust. I've had plenty of live shrimp that just give up the ghost right away no matter how you hook them, but Scallop Cove's shrimps are mad at the world and kick like crazy.

A beautiful marina and lots of beautiful boats and yachts right next to the Indigo landing restaurant. We caught a big catfish here. Haven’t been to the restaurant since the pandemic. Their food was pretty good when I visited. Need to visit again.
This is our 3rd year renting a pontoon from scallop cove too. Always a great time. The whole experience from the reservation to the actual boat rental is a breeze. And all the owners an employee's are very nice and helpful. We rented for a full day and caught lots of fish and found lots of scallops. And had a Awsome seafood dinner that night. We can't wait to get back next year and do it again.
Have to add a update. Rented this year as always. We got out in the middle of the bay and ran out of gas.. Drifted for 2 hours in 100 degree heat waiting for someone to bring us some gas. When you pay 550.00
they should come full. May have to try the rentals on the other side of the bay next year.

We love renting a pontoon from Scallop Cove Too!! This was our second year renting. The weather was little questionable the morning of our rental, we got a text letting us know. Offered another day that was available or to come when we were ready and comfortable with weather. Communication was great!! The boats are nice and well kept! They always help you load and unload your stuff! So enjoyable we booked another day that was available that week!!!:) thank you!!

Great little local excursion that's not too expensive. This is our first time kayaking and it was very easy. The stream has almost no current so there's nothing to fight against. Staff is also very helpful getting beginner like myself set up.
Great place to relax! The club has various canoes and kayaks available, including tandems, for 2 hour rentals. Not sure if they accept reservations, I would recommend going earlier or later in the day to minimize waiting. Surprisingly the river is decently shaded and soundproofed by all the trees and other greenery surrounding it. Even though it is located in central New Jersey, you can still run into some wildlife. The river itself is quite narrow, at least compared to the Delaware. There is barely a current so constant paddling is required. Unfortunately there is a dam less than half a mile to the south, so it is not possible to paddle out of Cranford. The other available direction is to the north, through Nomahegan Park. At a certain point the river becomes too shallow and overgrown by trees to paddle farther. Regarding duration, assuming a fast paddling speed, in a kayak, and without any breaks, it would be possible to explore the whole river within one hour. With kids or inexperienced paddlers it will probably take closer to 2 hours.
We did a full day pontoon rental and it was just awesome! The boat seemed brand new and in great condition. Everything worked as expected and the bay was so beautiful to see. You HAVE to add this to your trip to Cape San Blas!
Update: Went back for a second visit today. Perfect day for it. Water is so peaceful and the trees in the river are very pretty. The staff is very helpful.

Great place for visitors to rent kayaks, bikes and boats. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Prices are fair and they will deliver and pick up when you are done. The outside of the shop is unique and colorful.

Such a cool place to go with the family. Not far from Jenkinson Broadwalk, less then 15 mins. Time flies quickly and the area for kayaking is scenic and peaceful. Definitely a must try. Parking lot nearby or on the streets for free. Go with ample time to return.

I had a wonderful experience here! I was looking to transport a kayak from the shore to Connecticut. Needless to say I was worried it would be difficult. After this shop was recommended, I called and had great service.

Recently purchased a new Old Town Sportsman 120. Bob and the staff were excellent. When I was first looking to buy a kayak, Bob took the time to explain everything about this kayak. He answered all of my questions and was very honest about the delivery date due to the shortage because of the COVID pandemic. On e the kayak came in, he took more time to explain more features. Staff helped me load it into my truck. I would recommend them to anyone looking to buy or rent a kayak.
Near Reagan Airport. So you get to see planes arrive & depart. Also visible is a view of D.C., Capitol building and Washington Monument. Nice place to get a shot of nature and relax. I arrived by bicycle. But, parking is free for non- boaters. Boat shop & bathrooms are open.

Did pretty much everything they have to offer. Kayak tours on the weekends, best kayak tour through sedge islands in the state park, tour guides were so nice and full of knowledge. Did stand up paddle boarding and they have a two hour special now at their beach. They also deliver boats and pickups for one price. i highly recommend going there and trying out either paddling boarding or kayaking. They have free lessons for newbies too. If you don't mind getting your feet wet, this is the place to go at the Jersey shore!
