I’ve gone to them for three years and this year they’ve decided to implement a “strict uniform policy”. My son attended a session and had the shirt but wore the wrong black shorts. I was told he could not participate and that he would have to stand on the side. He is only 5 years old. I refused to have him sit since that would embarrass him. I asked if they could give me a pass for this time only and was told no. Staff said they felt “threatened by me”. I called them and my son was actually uninvited from the program. What a way to treat children. Horrible professionalism. They sure didn’t have a problem taking my money…

My kid wore an old jersey and they made my kid sat out the entire hour session because of the new policy that requires kids to wear the correct jersey. I understand if it's a tournament, but for a lesson session? and not even a one time exception?

Coach G is incredible! I highly recommend signing up for hoops academy if your child loves basketball and wants to improve. My 9 year old has been really inspired and has a lot of fun :-)

Great camp that has a balance of professionalism, skill development and overall fun. My brother really enjoyed his experience.

My son joined Brooklyn Basketball Academy (BBA) during the fall season last year, and he has made incredible progress during his time there improved, especially with dribbling, shooting, and strength training. Coach Gio and Kyle are always very helpful in ensuring the players practice their drills and understand the fundamentals of the sport while having fun and teaching them sportsmanship on an off the court. They offer travel games but also have in-house league games, so the kids learn offense and defense while working together as a team. BBA has also helped my son develop emotionally as a young man with the positive influence of his coaches. He was allowed to volunteer this summer and help coach the younger groups, which has only helped him love the game even more and understand the importance of mentorship. BBA not only has one of the nicest indoor basketball courts in Brooklyn, but it's also a great environment. They have built a community, not just an academy.

I have twin girls and they've been playing basketball for a few years. I signed them up with BBA recently in the spring of 2023. Their skills have improved immensely since joining BBA and they love the program and their teammates. The coaches involved (Coach Gio, Coach Kyle, Coach Pat and Coach Luca) have done an amazing job. They have gone above and beyond from what I expected with the time and energy spent working with the girls.

Our family has had a wonderful experience at BBA. The coaches and staff care deeply about the players, the program and the game of basketball. Any kid is lucky to be able to participate in any of the BBA offerings.

We signed our 13 year old son up for one on one basketball lessons. It has only been a few lessons with Coach G and my son has gotten so much better in basketball. Coach G takes his time to teach and he cares about the kids’ learning. He provided my son with confidence and a good foundation. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this place. I highly recommend Coach G and Hoops Academy NYC to anyone. Definitely worth it.

I would highly recommend registering your child with Coach G if your child loves basketball and wants to do better. Coach G is very thorough and disciplined yet Kool. That's quite a package to entrust your child to. We saw great improvement within days of working with Coach....sign your child up today!

Coach Gee is great at what he does. His coaching is well balanced in giving kids encouragement, motivating them to push through with endurance, and practicing the drills needed to help improve their form. Definitely recommend anyone looking for a safe, challenging, and rewarding place for kids to grow both in character and in the sport to check out Hoops Academy

Absolutely the best way to learn and train. I learned more in 1 week than a whole ski season. My instructors were all great - kudos to Nancy, Rich and Don. The whole staff went out of their way to help and make me feel welcomed. Plus, they modified a used pair of boots to fit me better. Great facility and wonderful people.

Glenn is an amazing instructor with very deep knowledge on the subject of kitesurfing. He is also a fun person with great attitude. I had a great time and learned alot!

I love coaching style, of coach G & coach Leyla firm, but at the same time finds the way to deliver the information to the kids helps them gain confidence, discipline, perseverance, and strong character. We are lucky to find coaches who not only great as coaches also had good resumes as a former pro players. Keep the great work coach G we love your dedication.

My son has been in BBA for over two years. He's grown into such a well rounded individual with the guidance of these lovely coaches. Coach Gio and the other coaches are all remarkable, and have made such a positive impact on my son. He absolutely loves being there and is so goal-oriented. BBA always goes above and beyond, and for that we are so appreciative. Thank you so much for your consistent efforts, for giving him the opportunity to be on the travel team the last three seasons, and for always believing in him.

Professional coaches and staff! Amazing basketball academy, clean and spacious gym. We’ve been coming to BBA for two years now and couldnt be more happier. Thank you to Coach Gio and his amazing staff for always helping our son to grow stronger and smarter!

Coach G’s basketball team is incredible. I have two kids, age 6 and 9 who have been enrolled for the past year and they cannot get enough! They are excited to go to practice and even more excited to play in the games. Coach G and Coach Leyla’s weekly practices are high energy, organized and challenging. My boys thrive on Coaches interactive drills and positive/patient energy. As a parent, it was important that my kids feel confident and proud regardless of their skill set and that is what Coach G teaches. Without a doubt my kids have grown as athletes but more importantly they are having fun by two terrific Coaches. We are HUGE FANS!

Best place for kids to grow and learn so much about themselves and basketball. Our son grew mentally so much through this year and became a basketball lover! The team, the coaches (especially coach G) are unbelievable. The main thing beyond being great players is to be ethical and great team members. Beyond recommending! 🙏❤️

One of the best decisions I’ve made
Me and my wife were looking for a basketball program for our son he’s played basketball for a while but never found a good fit. Till we met Coach G and the Hoops Academy day one he made sure our son was learning how to improve his game.
One of the things we love about Hoops Academy is the coach’s just doesn’t throw the kids out on the court they teach them what they are doing wrong. And ways to play the right way. Each kid is treated equally and made to feel like they are a star. My son has also made some amazing friends in his team and outside of the team as well. The in house league games on weekends are great cause even when they playing the coach’s are teaching the kids and the parents all come together to cheer and chat. So if you’re looking for a friendly program for your child look no further than Hoops Academy.

A Fantastic Basketball League and Training Program for Kids!

This place is an amazing indoor gym for basketball. Very clean and professional. Kids live coming here because of the amazing community they have established here. Will continue coming here with my friends as well.

The team at the Brooklyn Basketball Academy is second to none - their program has helped my son and countless other kids exponentially from strength and conditioning to advanced skill and basketball techniques. The coaches give great feedback and the vibe is electric. Coach Gio and Coach Kyle know how to teach kids, they are always having fun and loving the sport!

I went today with a 1:00 reservation. After my son goes, he says he wants to keep going. The trainer was so kind and taught me well. I would like to say thank you. Also, I couldn't find the store because it was my first visit, but I also really liked the kindness of the staff. See you soon. thank you

I had my second beginner lesson at this center. The very first lesson was in Tallinn, Estonia at a snow resort. I wasted a lot of time at the resort trying to walk down some iron stairs in ski boots, which is not a problem at all at the inside ski training center. Overall, the class at this center is more efficient than at the snow resort, especially for beginners! The instructor Scott is very good at communication, paying attention to details, with patience for beginners. He also showed me how to use the lift, which I didn't get to try at the snow resort. Towards the end of the class, I got an opportunity to try the moving carpet, which was fun. Will definitely be back to get more practice before going to the resort next winter!

I had a great time! I was initially worried that half an hour of skiing was not enough to justify the price, but after going, I'm not sure I could have done another 10 minute session without my legs giving out (and this is from someone who routinely goes 8 to 4 on the mountain with no issue). Scott was a great instructor and even though the whole first lesson was wedge turns, I still feel like I improved my skiing and learned some new things. I'll def be going back and bringing friends.

By far the best youth basketball program I know. I send my 5 year old, Miles here. He’s having so much fun and their coaches teach real good fundamental skills. Highly recommend!

3 out of 4 kids have learned to ski in this facility. The 4th is only 1 year old, so his turn is coming! Wonderful facility with very friendly and effective instructors. The kids always have fun and improve with each session. We have traditionally started indoors here, before hitting the actual slopes the past several years. These lessons have resulted in a much better experience for the kids immediately upon arriving at the real mountain slopes. It's also a great work out for me in the off season. I'd give 10 stars if I could

Took our first Kitesurfing lesson with Glenn this past weekend and it was blast! Glenn is an amazing instructor, he’s super knowledgeable and great to spend the day with! After an on land kiting mechanics session we moved to the water and while the conditions ended up not being the best for kite surfing, we still made the most of it and spent time practicing water re-launches on the bay. The light wind proved to be conducive to learning these aspects of kitesurfing that day. Glenn was very patient and able to instruct both me and my wife in tandem whilst making sure we were safe and knew the best safety practices. Glenn also shared some helpful resources to continue our kitesurfing journey after the session had ended. I highly recommend you give kitesurfing a try with Glenn!

Highly recommend this place if you want to improve your skills. Instructor Scott is the one who make a difference. He is very focused on precise techniques, 1 on 1 sessions with Scott are top notch experience. Do not get frustrated with delayed communication this is small business with limited staff, but always get back to you.

We returned from a vacation in Aruba, completely bitten by the kitesurfing bug and interested in continuing to learn to ride at home. Glenn was fantastic instructor. He not only would teach us the technical skills, but would also teach us the theory behind the wind window, how to respectfully harness the wind, while also training us to read the wind, tide, and terrain each day. Each week in our group chat, he would send a weather report to select the best window over the weekend with conditions safe for our level, providing continued updates and finalizing up until the morning of. I always felt safe with Glenn keeping a close eye on us, and gently guiding until we are ready to be safely independent. Who knew that kitesurfing was even an option in NYC?

Really excellent and clear instructor. I'm a more advanced rider and was able to progress very easily with Glenn's coaching. If you are even slightly interested in learning to kitesurf Glenn's your man.

Glenn is absolutely a professional and patient kitesurfing instructor. We discussed on the phone at the beginning and he sent a bunch of videos to have a look beforehand which were super helpful! Glenn always stands back and really pays attention to my movements and safety while we in the water! Overall a really great experience of kitesurfing and will definitely come again!

I took my first kite class today with Glenn after we closely followed the conditions for a few days. I had some nerves after a poor attempt at kiting a few years back, so my expectations were rather low. Soon after meeting, Glenn’s knowledge and thorough understanding of kiteboarding gave me the confidence that was crucial to finally relax and not just learn, but have fun. We ended up kiting far longer than we originally planned, and I could not have been happier. We took the class at a great pace, and I was constantly challenged. My only regret is not starting sooner. Glenn made the process as easy as possible, and gave a huge sense of security. Being an avid surfer, and also surf instructor, I see the same passion that goes into teaching. I will be back again!

Glenn was a great teacher and a nice companion for the day. We had been in touch for the better part of a year and when we finally made a lesson happen, it was a great time. I highly recommend Glenn for any interested beginner kitesurfers.

We waited for 3 hours and play for 2 games, literally the others were playing 6-7 matches and we just sit and wait until the person calls us to go. Which is not even fair.

I did not have any background to go off of for my first kitesurfing experience but I contacted Glenn and He was great right from the start. He asked to speak over the phone to better understand my background kitesurfing and my interest in it and then gave me recommendations for how to get started based on everything I told him. He also has videos helping to explain a lot of what I didn’t even know to ask yet. When the weather was right he contacted me and I had a blast. I had never even flown a kite and Glenn worked with me to understand handling a trainer kite and ultimately a larger kite with the board. Looking forward to my next lesson!

Great for what it is. If you have no experience and want to learn how to ski before you spend a lot of money on the slope, this is perfect. Took my 9 and 11 year old for a lesson. After they took a one hour lesson, I feel that they could safely manage a ski slope. The young man that taught them did a great job, he was really good with kids. Price was reasonable considering the overhead necessary to have a place like this. I may come back next year and get my girls another refresher lesson.

I took my 9 yr old step son here during the mid winter break to help him improve his understanding of basketball and what it's like to play in a game with his peers (he has only had 1 hr simple skills training, once a week, for 5 months). I am very happy with how they taught him, even if he was only able to attend for 3 days, he improved in such a short amount of time. My step son is shy and even so, he loved going to Elite Skills to learn and play.
The coaches knew how to teach basketball to youth, and that's important than just knowing basketball, especially for younger kids.
It's a great program for beginners, but after watching a few minutes of the older kids playing, it's a great program for more experienced youth as well.

I have been skiing since I was 15. Before our visit to Inside Ski Training, I had tried two previous times to take/get my wife skiing. Both times ended up with her frustrated, exhausted and hurt! So I decided to take my wife for round three along with my 17y.o. daughter and two 11 y.o. daughters. We went to the Inside Ski Training Center the day before we drive up to the mountains to ski. I will tell you, it's a must! Trust the process!!! The Manager/Trainer was phenomenal! They covered the simplest task from how to walk on a hill in Ski boots all the way up to turns, stops etc. They even had a mock Ski lift. The first time down the indoor hill I saw the fear return to my wife's face (like ptsd from her previous attempts). The Manager calmed her down, built trust and within just a few minutes has her sliding confidently down that hill! Getting to understand the movements and feel the feedback was invaluable. We plan to do it every year before we hit the mountain just to get a little practice/warm up before going now! Side note, when we actually went skiing, my wife made a left turn (right on to a Blue slope/intermediate slope) when we all went right. I was worried sick. We all caught up about 30 minutes later and to my surprise she made it down! First real time skiing!! She admitted she was chanting to herself the entire time the mantras the Inside Ski Trainer kept telling her, (work your turns, lean into your boots, trust the process) and it got her down safe! She went skiing on the mountain several days and not once did she even fall on the Ski lift. Mind you our last attempt (prior to Indoor Training) I had to hold her by the neck of her jacket as she dangled there like a marionette puppet to get her down the Ski lift hill when unloading otherwise she would dive for the ground. So truly impressed. Well worth your time and money. Our kids hit the mountain like champs because of this training. Even my chicken little. She popped right up and went at it. Having a safe calm indoor place to practice made all the difference. I feel it allowed my crew to listen without all the distractions and build skills without the intimidation of the 1000'+ vertical mountain drop looming over them. If I lived closer I would be in there on my regular to train and work out! They have many levels offered there. Cross posting this review on all the sites I usually check in hopes it helps others the way it helped my family!

Do you still play badminton on weekends?

My 2 boys played there 🙄😘 about 20 years ago 🙄😳🌹🌷 still love it 🌹

The program is ran poorly for children 10 and under. Once you pay they give location of practice and no coaches show up.they give you no courtesy call saying there will be no practice and this happen on numerous occasions. They said it would be a limited amount of people due to COVID -19 but they over crowding classes just to get the money. Last but not least they are charging different people different prices for the same service’s.no one picks up the 212 number and Mimi the coordinator is very hard to reach. Seem like a money grab type of business as opposed to really wanting to see the children enhance there basketball skills. They do not give refund. They just keep promising free classes. 💯factual experience with clydes basketball kids

Love Coach Noah and Coach Bryan. They have done an amazing job with the program during covid. Will never forget it.

Clydes is a fantastic program. The coaches know basketball AND how to coach teenagers, with the right balance of challenging, motivating, and supporting them. The program has shown great organization and judgment during Covid.

If I could give this organization a zero I would. This was the WORST experience EVER!!! The team NEVER won a game ... in fact it was a blow out at every game. Over $1600 spent for 5 months of play. And they placed a charge on my cc on file without my consent. Save your hard earned money. RUUUUNNNNN !!!!

There are two Badminton courts, one at 3rd and the other at 5th. We went to 3rd floor first where after waiting for some time, Manager Paul asked us to goto 5th floor which doesn't even have markings. We came back to 3rd floor where we again had to wait longer.

The training program is fun and well organized. The couch and assistants are friendly and patient. I wish my son would grow faster and got into the next level.

Amazing place staff so kind I went on a trip for field day suck amazing place had a lot of fun totally recommend this place

The badminton coaches helped me through a lot when playing badminton

The coachea are very patient and fun. I learned a lot in one semester

Building is trash, its like a bland prison. Teachers dont know what they are doing. I transferred to Cypress Ranch and its 10x better and people still complain about ranch so bridgland is like a -10/10

I️t was so horrible.they had pretty bad teaching

Took my younger cousin to their tryouts. signed up the spring break camp. Coaches are friendly, professional and manage the kids very well. My cousin got a lot of play time and was happy spending time playing bball.

My kid had a lot of fun attending their summer camp last year. Got to see a few professional players and kid got their signatures too. Cool camp and cool organizations. Thinking about signing him up for this year too.

My Child has been with Elite Skills since he was 3, He is now 7 an well on his way to being the Elite player. Seth and Todd do an outstanding job Motivating the kids ensuring they know the drills, an the fundamentals of basketball. Another great thing About Elite Skills is they hold such events as NBA Games, NBA High Five Line, an NBA court of dreams which leaves a lasting impression on the kids. I personally Drive 2 an a half hours every week and will continue until my child reaches his dream of the NBA.

If you find yourself wishing you got to experience the inefficiency of the old Soviet bureaucracy or if you’re feeling nostalgic for the incompetence of the — pre-streamlined — DMV of the 1980’s and you happen to have a child between the ages of 9-15 who’s looking for an overpriced, half-assed and utterly unsatisfying basketball experience, NYC Basketball Kids are right up your alley.
Far more expensive than any of my son’s other sports programs, I naively imagined the higher price tag would be justified by more personnel and quality, focused, instruction. Boy was I wrong. Every week seemed to catch them completely off balance. Balls weren’t inflated and many hoops were inaccessible and not lowered into position. Another dad inflated the basketballs while I phoned the rented venue and got them to remedy the unusable hoop situation for the following week. There were too many kids of widely varying ages and experience to manage as a single group. On rare occasions — usually following angry calls from me — as many as 3 instructors might be present, yet only one did the lion’s share of coaching/instructing, one helped a little, while the third surfed the web and texted. Usually, our group of up to twenty boys, were wrangled by one, hard working, talented and genial — ex-college — star who played pro-ball overseas. I’m confident he was being paid something close to minimum wage. His name was Roger and he was great but it was too much to handle alone. He coached and reffed a full-court game while many boys shot around by themselves until they were able to sub in.
Three times the gym wasn’t even booked for our session, so we were left to move outside and up to the building's roof, where there were a few, free-standing hoops — so dilapidated — they’d embarrass a hobo. Twice we had to use the roof in the December cold — once, in extreme cold. Since there are no outside lights, the early winter sunset provided an additional challenge and guaranteed a short session.
We were promised an NBA player would run one of our classes but that never happened. By week four, I knew that if they managed to find an actual NBA professional, who was willing to visit our kids, he’d be the oldest, cheapest that money could buy: most likely a one-legged, octogenarian, bench-warmer, who saw seven minutes total playing time in his one year as a pro, during IKE’s first term.
In fairness, what the folks who run this unorganized organization don’t know about managing a sports program for children is inversely proportional to their aptitude and enthusiasm for self-promotion, e-spamming and collecting undeserved fees. They got my money but this was strictly a fool-me-once experience. If pressed to come up with a catchy slogan that accurately reflects what one can expect, I’d say: “NYC Basketball Kids: Reinventing the square wheel, every Friday!”

In three training sessions with Seth at Elite Skills, ive seen my son's skills improve. More importantly, Ive seen his understanding of the game improve, thus his confidence on the court has increased three-fold. 2 thumbs up. Five stars for sure.

My kid has a lot of fun and experiences. He loves the basketball class!

The numbering is off, which causes students and works to get lost easily.

The swimming pool is so awesome

Great new school, with new technology and design ideas. The multi-floor layout is a nice development too.
With an awesome core staff of teachers, counselors and management, I'm sure this school is heading towards one that others will strive to be.

It’s ok, buses aren’t that good.

The reason why I like Remax because they provided me knowledge coaches to teach me badminton 🏸

I'm glad they always open ac in the hot summer on Sunday.
