Had dinner there last Saturday. It is a truely beautiful place with excellent service. The disappointment came when we recieved our dinner. We ordered roasted carrots which were way over done and had a burnt taste to them. The few that weren't over roasted were very good especially with the 3 sauces they came with. We also ordered spaghetti. It was not spaghetti, it was linguine with crab meat which was not that good. A few of our guests didn't even order thier food or ordered it but did not eat it. Very disappointing. They need a much better chef for what they charge. Plan on spending atleast $45 per meal and much higher. Thier concept and ambience was 5 ☆ however, the choices were very slim and the bill very costly.
A lovely respite from the city, we were seated outside along the river and it was a perfect day. The knowledge of our server on the wines was great and they were able to answer our questions. I'd like a larger charcuterie board for the price but the wine tasting experience is a must.

Very cute and quaint location. Loved several wines. Got to take each glass during a tasting out and walk through the vineyard, and then come back for our next tasting glass. The tasting room is very small, so it was nice to be able to walk outside.
Amazing place for wine tasting with amazing wines! Next door is the distillery so you are in one location with both distillery and wine. Wine tasting is complimentary. They have discounts on the number of bottles you purchase. We purchased 6 bottles to get 10% off. They had a wide variety of wines to choose from and very inexpensive based on the various wine tastings we have done in other places outside of DC.
Very nice establishment, customer service, and price value. Great selection of fruit wines. I did not partake in the distillery products. Very clean. Tasting was free (5 wines).
I worked in this building when it was a bus depot. Amazing transformation of the space. I think its a great place to see a show. A little cramped but I've been in worse. Decent food and good wine made for an enjoyable evening with Dave Alvin and Jimmie Dale Gilmore. I've already purchased tickets for future shows.

Northern Sun is a beautiful estate with some nicely made wines using native varietals. It's west of Escanaba, and out in the countryside. The first time we went, we parked our car and were greeted by this big white dog. He started barking at us, and lead us right to the front door of the tasting room. Talk about service! They have a beautiful vine gazebo to sit and overlook the vineyard in, or sit inside the building and taste away. If you're in Escanaba, take a short trip outside town and check them out.
Don’t bring dogs here. Our group (including well mannered pups) were met with horrible customer service outside and inside the winery.

We were the only customers there, we stopped for the lady’s to try a flight and followed the rules and had our dogs on the outside of the roped in area. Still got attitude from I’m assuming is the owner and telling us to go as far away as possible and saying he don’t like dogs and having a pissy attitude with us. Maybe say no dogs allowed anywhere then, not getting service from us ever again.
The winery itself is very nice. The staff member Kaitlin was very rude and unfriendly! Not even a hello. Just a what can I get you? Did not even explain the wines we chose for the tasting or even a thank you when we paid with was a "$14" at that was it. Felt like we were an interruption! If they are looking to sell wine that isn't the way to do it! Really bad experience!
My party of 4 had one of the best meals I've ever had! Steak was amazing and service beyond amazing. Daniel was our server and super attentive. Will definitely be returning! The facility is beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. Make a reservation and GO!

Free tastings, affordable & delicious wine, excellent customer service, what more can you ask for? It's nice to see there's one place left with free tastings, everyone seems to be charging nowadays. It's also nice to see most of their wines are $12-$13 and most that I tried were delicious. Always a must when in door county.

As a frequent patron of music and live events. I am huge on customer service. The New York City crew are awesome. Loved the customer service. And the food all arrived fresh hot and perfectly presented . In my opinion the room at this location has the warmest sound out of all. We attended the late set of the Rashan Patterson show. Well worth the trip he and his band never disappoint. If you do not know Rashan Patterson Google him and get to know one of thee greatest voices in music.
Went here for my friend’s 21st birthday and it was amazing! The atmosphere was vibrant and friendly, the staff were inviting and informational, and the wines were phenomenal. A must visit for anyone looking for a small business to support.
Our family has a place in Escanaba and it never occurred to us to look into wineries. This place was right down the road this whole time and we've been missing out!! Peggy was the gem behind the counter during our visit and we spent a few hours enjoying the great wine and beautiful vineyard view. If you're in the area or just passing through town we highly recommend!!
I went to see Jon B. and sat in the balcony. Great views from the balcony. City Winery is a great intimate venue to see your favorite performers. Plus, the food and wine offerings are delicious. We enjoyed the lamb meatballs and hot honey pizza.
Melissa was very accommodating and we enjoyed camping overnight at this lovely vineyard through Harvest Hosts. The vineyard is gorgeous and the tasting room is so charming. The wine is tasty and definitely recommend this little jewel tucked away down a quaint country road!
This is an AWESOME place to stop!! Great service and very friendly staff! For $5 you get 7 wine samples and to keep the glass! Bottles were reasonably priced! We walked out with a bunch of bottles. Will stop here again!!!
Great place to stop and enjoy some wine samples! There were 4 sample packages to choose from for $6 a package. Each package had 6 samples. We took them outside and enjoyed the atmosphere!! We would stop here again!!!
We want to thank Forgotten Fire Winery for ending our day on a high. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed talking with him about hiking different areas. Their wines, meads and ciders were very good, with something for everyone.
My wife and I stopped in while on a Sunday day trip. It had been a few years since we have been here and we enjoyed our time here very much! We each had a wine flight, all of which were very good. Service was very good and personable as well. We will be back.
Was a lot there. Wine and distillery. Went for the wine. 5 free tastes. Stand at the bar and taste. Nothing for Gluten free people to nibble on between wines. Made it harder to experience each wine to their fullest. Didn't like any of the 5 so I ordered a glass of another on a leap of faith. Didn't like that one either. Tasted 10 but didn't find any that I really cared for. To have with our glass of wine I went into their fudge and cheese shop and paid for some very over priced cheese curds and meat sticks..pre packaged. We went out to have our wine and snacks on a balcony off the distillery area. Not a great view but was ok. Sooo not the experience we really enjoy. The wine was meh.. But they have a Lot of flavors we didn't try. The staff in the wine department were very good. Staff in the cheese shop pretended you didn't exist. They might have something for you though... It's a matter of taste and style of tasting you like. We won't be back though.

Door 44 has it all! They have wonderful wine, great staff, and awesome live music on most Fridays and Saturdays (check the Door County Pulse to be sure). You do not want to miss this amazing winery on your way up highway 42.

Location location.. beautiful well lite, seating better than I thought. I missed the 6pm show, arrived with only 45 minutes left. Ask concierge if my tickets could be transferred to the late show 9pm. They accommodated us with no problem. Different seats, close to the stage. We had a wonderful evening. Right of the Hudson, plenty of restaurants and thing to do.
Every time we go to Door County we like to go to a winery and decided on Door 44. If you like wine - I highly suggest going here. We did a wine tasting and tour with the lovely Maria, and 8 of us total guests. Maria was so knowledgeable about all things wine, and has an impressive backstory about how Door 44 came to be. Each wine we tasted went with the story of Door 44 and how each wine came to be. Many of the people that were in the tour with us asked amazing questions and so we gained quite a lot of insight in what it is to grow grapes, why they decided on this specific area, how they only create wine from their grapes, and so much more. I highly recommend going with a group of family and friends, it makes it so much more fun. I loved the stories, the personal love and care the family and team members put into the wine, and all the laughs that came in between. The taste of each wine was very delicious, and paired extremely well with what we talked about. After the tour, you get the opportunity to sit and chat outside with people, listen to the live band, get your complimentary full glass of wine, and maybe a snack if you’re interested in doing so.

The lady that helped us with our tasting was wonderful. She was very helpful with us beginner winos. Carmen’s last dance was our fav!
Stopped in last fall. We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and friendly nature of the staff. While getting a few tastings it happened to be the owner serving us. He was more than helpful with explaining the wines. Bought a few to take home. We just had their Pivotal, what a wonderful cab blend. Would order more but don’t see it on the current wine list. I’ll keep an eye out for it.
Nice setting, excellent service. Our sommelier, Katie, was very knowledgeable, helpful, and a pleasure to be around. Purchased a couple of bottles of wine, plus enjoyed music on the grounds and lunch from a local food truck.
My trips to Door County include stopping at wineries, and Harbor Ridge Winery is always a must. They have a nice selection of styles from dry to sweet. Gimme One Good Riesling is my summertime favorite.

We had the pleasure of going to the tasting room for the first time yesterday. It was absolutely wonderful and all the wine was excellent. We did get to see the hotel and hope to stay there sometime as it is absolutely beautiful. Can’t wait to return to the tasting room.

They have free wine tasting! Lots of Door Country fruits in the wines. The wines were delicious. We ended up buying a bottle. The staff were friendly but not over-crowding. They have lots of food products and samples too. Would recommend.

OMG! This venue was absolutely amazing!!! Cute, sexy, intimate! No matter where you are seated you have a great view of the performer/ show. Food was amazing and I love the dinner & show set up!!! Had the classic burger with a fried egg. Service and meal were great!!! You can also shop their wine selection. Treated myself for mother's day, loved my night! Will definitely come back❤

Stayed here with my fiancee and it was the best experience we've had! Service at the hotel, restaurant and tasting room was impeccable! We had dinner at Hickory and food was amazing, and the included breakfast was just as great. Everything was super clean, all staff were very welcoming and friendly, and there was always something fun to do! 10/10 would stay here again.
Love there port and wine here. It's one of my favorite wineries in door county cause they have "sweet" wine.
My wife and I recently spent 2 nights at Nicewonder and were blown away by the quality of the stay. The room was very clean, new, and comfortable. We stayed in a King Vineyard view room that had ample space. The food and drink at the hotel was very nice also.
Had a great time tasting wines. They had live music the day we were there. They also had heaters by the outside tables and two domes for those who want to be outside when the temperature is cooler. We loved Carmen's Last Dance. It is a sweet red wine. They have a variety of dry to sweet wines including fruit wines. The staff was helpful and friendly. There is only one bathroom though, which I think could be a problem during peak season. There is extra seating upstairs, which is not wheelchair accessible, otherwise, everything is wheelchair accessible. There was plenty of space to maneuver the wheelchair around when I was there (in April). There is a nice cheese shop next door too.

Great cocktails and great tasting gin! Bought two bottles. They also have business-card sized drink recipe cards of some of their popular cocktails to take home!
What a beautiful, peaceful location. The tasting room host (Mary) was bubbly and friendly and very knowledgable about the wines. I tried a couple of tastings (reasonably priced) and selected a bottle of my favorite variety. The smallish tasting room offers cheeses and other goodies. The location is easy to find using google maps. Lots of birds and a beautiful setting to enjoy a few glasses of wine! I will be back.
My husband and I visited Nicewonder for our anniversary. Our stay was wonderful. The King suite over looking the pool was luxurious and comfortable. The entire staff went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of in every facet. From the turn down services every night to our meals - everything was thoughtful and purposeful. We will absolutely be back to visit! Thank you Nicewonder!

Listen here…we were on our way out of door county on the way home, passed by this winery and decided to stay an extra day just to see this beautiful winery! The staff were so welcoming, Jon and his wife (forgot to get her name, but she is the cutest replica of the great Dolly Parton!)

The wine tasting is so fun with lots of great wines and ciders! They also have a great store with so many cool things to look at. Loved playing Jenga and the people who work there are so nice and accommodating.
I took my boyfriend on a surprise date here and it was so peaceful great location. The wine was so good I didn’t leave without my favorite from the tasting. The waitress was so polite. Will be back!

The Hickory Restaurant offered some of the best food we’ve ever had! Their breakfast was to die for! We received a complimentary wine tasting with our package and it was such a fun experience. We honestly didn’t expect to like the wine much, but it was exceptional. It was possibly the some of the best wine we’ve had east of the Mississippi. The entire staff make it such a memorable weekend that we hated to leave! This was a perfect home base for exploring the region.

I had a great time at Nicewonder for an early Valentine's getaway! My husband and I opted for the Winter Vineyard package, which was so worth it! It includes the accommodations, dinner and breakfast for 2, wine tasting for 2, and a bottle of Nicewonder wine. The grounds are beautiful and there are numerous outdoor fire pits to sit by and enjoy each other's company or a glass of wine. The room was spacious and the interior design throughout the property is well thought out. All of the wines on rotation were delicious, with the 2017 Chardonnay and the Merlot being my favorites. The pastry chef is phenomenal! Best pretzel I've ever had. The meals were a little underwhelming in comparison to how outstanding the rest of the trip was. We are looking forward to coming back with friends and staying in the yurts. Also excited to spend time by the pool and checking out the gym and spa centers once those open up.
10 out of 10. I signed up for a wine tasting for a girls night out. The selections were very tasteful/delicious. The staff was very friendly. The place was clean and you had a beautiful waterfront view. There’s also snacks that you can order as well. The fig jam on the charcuterie board is to die for. I will be coming back especially since I found out the wine selections for the tastings changes monthly.
Took a weekend trip to Brooklyn with my girl and we stumbled upon this winery while looking for something casual to get into near the water. Unfortunately it was a rainy day but we made the best out of the journey.

Harbor Ridge has a variety of delicious wines that are reasonably priced and a fun atmosphere to hang out. They have a number of selections that are under $20. They have live music sometimes which is fun to just hang out and have some wine samples or by the glass. Our wine tastings came with a pretty heavy pour so they don’t skimp on the samples. I love coming here when up visiting Door County.
Wine was good and the atmosphere was nice! You get a choice of 5 wine samples, as well as complimentary breadsticks and chocolate to go along with your tasting.

We visited a few years ago when they were in a different location and liked it. This time not so much. Uninviting interior and staff. Not friendly at all. There was only one other couple inside and they already had their flight. We were waiting patiently for the employee to come help us start a tasting. She instead spent about 5 minutes moving bottles in the fridge. Neither staff member took any time with us to discuss the wines, and one came to charge us for the tasting before we had even gotten any of the wine. We sat on the patio with our tasting, and they were doing concrete construction 10 feet away from us. Listening to a concrete saw kind of ruined the atmosphere. Wondered why they chose to do construction during mid afternoon on a Friday, which I would guess is prime business time.
A relaxing and unassuming winery. There is a wine-themed gift shop, and the tasting fees are affordable. The owner is very friendly - we enjoyed chatting with him. We sampled around 15 different wines. The wines are made from local grapes and fruit. There is a good variety of wines to choose from, dry to sweet.
Great place for a wedding or a quiet drink with friends / partner. It has beautiful views but take your sunglasses it gets really sunny if you want outside. The views are really the big draw of this place as there is not much going on inside this place. However, the staff is super extra nice and helpful and will make your visit here a pleasant one. Personally I wouldn't go here on a Friday or Saturday. It's quiet and out of the way so luckily I was here on a Sunday and it was the perfect atmosphere for a quiet afternoon.

Incredible. This is a must-visit location for you if you're in the area and love wine and absolutely wonderful, friendly hosts. We came here for a quick tasting and to grab a bottle and instead stayed for live music and bought several to take home.
I had a nice experience here this morning. The staff is really friendly and helpful. They were easy to chat with. The wines I sampled with the tasting I bought were really good, especially the Pink Frosting and White Frosting. If you like sweeter wines, I highly recommend getting these. Frozen Tundra was up there for me as well. If you haven't stopped out here yet, I hope you consider dropping by!
This page needs an edit they have seasonal hours. I’m sure it would have been great if it was open. But looking at the search that popped up hours open said 10:30am - 5 pm so we went out of our way excited it was open and then very disappointed. Update the page please. My wife and I first tried Yooper wines in Mackinaw City and ended up buying 2 cases. We ran out and needed to take the 5hr ( 10 round trip) drive to stock back up. Owner John and I think his wife were very friendly and genuine. We love their wines and with such great owners we'll be back for sure!
We are were traveling to Michigan and decided to stop at a vineyard along the way. We weren't sure if this winery had any food (website and other reviews didn't say). We called, but the line was busy. We decided to venture to the winery anyway (20 minutes out of the way). The owner called us back as we were driving apologizing for missing the call. She let us know that they had cheeses, chocolate, crackers, salami.
We were greeted by the owner on arrival to the beautiful winery. She was very helpful with deciding on samples. She served us outside under the trellis. We loved the wines so much we bought all the wines we sampled (including the rosé). We had such a lovely experience - even took a walk through the vineyard.

Great atmosphere and products
I rarely post reviews but I must for this one! I had the best experience at this winery, perhaps the best in all of Michigan so far. The wine is amazingly flavorful, the atmosphere is welcoming and cozy, and they have the friendliest dog outside! Highly recommend for any wine lover. Even bought 3 bottles all for myself to enjoy later!
I had a great time at this winery! The girl who helped us and gave us a tasting was super friendly and even gave me an extra taste past the 7 I was allotted. It was only $5 for a 7 wine or cider tasting AND you got to keep the full sized glass afterward. It was a deal for sure! They have mostly sweeter white wines I would say, but their reds appear to be somewhat on the drier side.
Had a few of their wines at the wine tasting event. The Pinot is a definite winner in my opinion. Will get a few more bottles as soon as we can, to keep in stock at home.

Gotham Winery is not your average wine! In addition to having a variety of delicious wine, they pair (hehe) their wine with really fun events - coming up Equinox spin class with one of their most popular instructors followed by wine happy hour after, and on the wait list for the Northfork wine tour!
We enjoyed the down-home environment and Jan's hospitality at Threefold Vine Winery. Andy and Jan are doing it right. Also, they have wines that satisfy most tastes. We left with four bottles. Salute!
Very busy place. We stopped for a tasting after a short hike at cave point. Our 'server' was great and friendly. You can pick from 2 tasting options. They had live music out in front. There were lot of bachelorette parties in the mix.
