It's okay if you need to buy breads, cakes etc but I think the shop needs to be lightened more.
Assistants lie about when goods were baked. Often come home with stale baking. Can be better managed & Honesty is lacking

I really enjoyed the goodies that I got at La bakery,they are fresh,sweet and delicious,I would definitely recommend you to come and check out their fantastic menu🤍🤤
Bought items from this bakery thinking they would be nice, we had guests over. Spent R400 in total and everything was just dry and old. Fortunately though I found good uses for them, The chocolate donut is used as a door stopper now. The the coconut twisty I use as at work when I'm stressed out, the twisty motion really building my forearms btw.

In terms of Baked Breads, Biscuits and Frozen Snacks this is one of the best Bakeries.
Highly recommend their Naan Breads and Braided Loaves, Red Velvet Biscuits are lovely.
Also has a great Soft Burfee in Pista or normal flavors.
Staff are awesome
Their savoury snacks may not be great or fresh at times, so be warned.

I ordered my mum s birthday cakes twice on my first one when I arrived my cake was not done I had to wait and it looked like they forgot,on my second order I the design was totally wrong but I had to take it like that in really not pleased with their way of doing things their service is very poor.
Sam did THE MOST for our wedding! She made our 3-tier rustic wedding cake 2 days before our wedding after our initial cake supplier dropped us. It was really good (coffee sponge with a vanilla and caramel buttercream, with berries around the layers). And she's so wholesome! Who doesn't want a cake from a wholesome person? 😁
First time and we love it was amazing and food OMW I don't have words for how amazing everything is.

Hanover bakery is a gem of an oasis !! The have pastries of all shapes and sizes, fresh oven buns cakes and confectionery!! I give them 12 out of 10. Make a turn at Hanover Bakery I promise you you will not be disappointed at all.
One star is to much the managers attitude to a mistake on their side was disgusting. Ordered a spider man cake the cake looked like a frozen girl's cake instead. The picture was placed skew and allot of white patches. He claims there was nothing wrong . What a disappointment

Tried to buy a Pastel de nata and was instructed that they were only sold as 2s. Bought 2 for FULL price only to go home and discover that 1 of them had MOULD on it. Super sleezy underhanded tactic tricking customers to try get rid of your expiring/rotting stock. Will not be visiting again

I tried calling the bakery first to complain but was unable to get through after many tries. The spicy koeksisters that I bought were so stale, dry and tasteless that they were inedible. This is after I asked if they were made in the day and was told they were. This wasn’t my first experience. I won’t buy goods baked in the store there again. The standard has dropped a lot.
Fresh foods. I visited today first time ever. I took box of some breads I don't know what they called. They are filled with different different types of things like potatoes, mushroom, cheez, spinach etc. I like this place. Little costly but not bad.

I ordered a Minnie-Mouse inspired Birthday Cake for my 6 year old daughter and the end result was impeccably amazing. Very neat, professional and detailed Cake, also very fresh. I’ll definitely order more!
Unfortunately this isn’t the same bakery from a year ago in the sense that the quality of the cakes have gone down. Not really tasty so not worth going. In fact some of the cakes and biscuits taste offish. Had to put water in it to soften and rather feed the birds, so as not to waste in the bin.
Ordered a custom cake from this place and they absolutely exceeded my expectations. It looked exactly how I requested it to look and it tasted absolutely divine. It was also very fairly priced. An absolutely awesome experience and will go back in the future. Would recommend anyone to check them out.
Absolutely outrageous that an order was not only not ready for collection but that no one informed me that my cupcakes would be late.

Great quality, consistently. i have become a regular customer who keeps coming back for their soft (softest) rolls and fresh cream pastries + swissrolls.
Encountered rude staff at tills,a lady.
I purchased 6 lamingtons yesterday, along with a bunch of other items. We had guests over and one of them said there was a funny taste,there was a bad odour and a putrid taste from the lamingtons, I'm extremely disappointed and won't purchase here again. Please check the items before you sell to customers. It wasn't just the cream that was bad it was the whole cake. I was planning on ordering from here for my Diwali parcels ,thank goodness this came to light.

Was definitely not worth the drive to experience pure disappointment. The pies were ice cold and stale. When I asked if the baked items were made with fresh cream, the baker said yes. Unfortunately it was imitation cream. I am happy to pay the price, but not with so much compromised quality.
Rubbish quality. This food has been left out for days and it is on the shelf on sale. This food is stale and old. Yet extreme prices must be paid for this. Pathetic. Run your business properly.
The sales lady Ruth was fantastic. Their range is amazing. Their products are tasty and fresh. Would much much rather go to Friends bakery thn to Frangelicas.
Staff and all at the store are very unfriendly, the support given to there business definitely goes unappreciated even though i have supported this business for many years, items are very expensive too,when the store gets busy its just over crowded especially Ramadan time, please can all at this store be more friendly and welcoming it will make me want to come back to your store then, very difficult to find parking in that area

The bread has completey changed using cheap ingridients with no proper plastic bag for traveling

Red velvet cupcakes were made with cream cheese toppings until 2 months ago. Now they're using fresh cream to fleece customers at the same price. It tastes aweful
They don't answer phones, their landlines dont work

Ordered a cake for my girlfriend's 30th birthday - red velvet, and it was gorgeous and delicious! Only thing I could ask for would be card payment instead of cash.

When we collected, we could not find parking - so I asked my daughter to jump out quick, pay and pick up.
They were kind and helped her put the platters in the car - but something seemed off, it was hot and and I was in the middle of the road with my hazards on - I thought I was just being irratated.
When we got home I took a moment to check the platters - it was short of the large savoury, we then called to asked where it was and the manager/owner said that the ladies at the back did not make it, and it was too late to do anything now. - That's it. No apology, no suggestion on how to fix it, nothing.
We had to think quick and make another plan.
The function was success and we had a good story to tell.

i would give this company 0 stars. They have a driver and i could name the number plate but i wont for security reasons, this driver has terrible attitude and he thinks he owns the bakkie and owns Homemade delights. i was at the Engen garden city garage last week Friday and the driver is putting pressure on the tyre and refuse to move a little out the way so we can pass, we had to wait at least 10 minutes for him to be done. i called the owner Mohammed immediately and he said he will get to the bottom of this and get back to me. since then no response. he doesn't even answer his phone.
They are the best, I ordered a Mr bean cake for my 2 year old son I asked them to reassure me that they won't disappoint us. They didn't disappoint the kids were blown away by Mr bean's pic. The cake was beautiful from the inside and outside heavenly taste they sure know the meaning of fresh. The cake was finished within hours and we still wanted more. Great service, great staff and the best taste. Definetly going back for more.
This is where you buy the best butter pastry pies. Eid biscuits nowadays too pricey especially since they not tasty anymore and definitely not pure butter. Sweetmeats still good quality.

Haleem and authentic Turkish simmit from gelata bakery. Even stock butcher meats from Khan's and Forsmay. Collaboration with trending foodies and always stock the coolest stuff. Highly recommended. Gluten free breads. Milk tarts. Gelato Studio ice cream. Falooda milkshake.
I called just to get a sugar print picture as it was super short notice but in the end they actually done my whole cake in a stunning harry potter theme even though I called them the afternoon before I needed the cake.

I don't have any experience about the Sweet Escape. From Google I have learnt that they are a cakery business, hopefully I pay a visit to them.
Sam did not disappoint, she made my daughter’s 1st birthday extra special with this cake and cupcakes. Not only did they look stunning, they tasted amazing too! Clear, timely communication from Sam. She is friendly too! Recommend any day. Can’t wait for the next occasion to order another beautiful creation!

Lovely local bakery. Nothing beats their fresh kitkie roll, simply buttered they are our favourite and a weekly must. They staff are super helpful and accommodating. They stock various baked goods and trendy treats. A local gem that adds real value to the area.
Great bakery with lovely service. We've been regular supporters since they opened a few years ago. Consistently good - lovely fresh buns and rolls, and my favourite - the guilt-free brownies!
Always a wide variety of freshly prepared bakes to choose from . Their cream doughnuts are our favorite along with their bagels 👌👌.

Amazing goodies! You just want to try everything! Biscuits were delicious! Really good! Only problem is the parking or should I say lack of. Neighboring shop owners don't take kindly to double parking, even for a few minutes. They can be quite insulting!

A breath of fresh baked goods and delights to the Norwood and Houghton area. Recently open Home Made Delights at 45 Grant Road, Norwood offers a fine selection of freshly baked biscuits, pastries, pies, cakes and offers a small selection of frozen meat. It ought to be on your list of stops in the area should you require any of such items.
Great bakery has niche products and they use fresh cream in their cakes not that mock cream stuff. Pity about the self entitled customer that was in there yelling at the staff. Or the ones that think their money has more value than yours.
Overall a great little place that must be tried out and they observe the covid19 protocols to make the experience all safe cozy and homely. 👍 especially empowering young women in the industry.

Got my son's cake in time but couldn't enjoy it because it was burned. How do you decorate a burned chocolate cake. Worse thing I call the store and I'm told if I don't have the slip there's nothing to talk to me about, remember these are the same people who called me to inform me that cake is ready for collection. The standard has definitely dropped from what I was used to for the past 5 years.

Sam is definitely my go-to lady when it comes to cakes. She’s reliable, excellent at what she does and really goes the extra mile. Communicating with Sam is easy whether via email or sms and once you’ve placed your order, you know there won’t be any nasty surprises. You’ll get a freshly baked, delicious creation that you’ll want to show off ASAP. Seriously, her cakes are that delicious. When you think cake, think Sweet Escape.

Awesome restaurant, some of the best kosher food that I have ever eaten, the service and the atmosphere were equally as good!
This place is really nice, they have a dairy section and meat section and a bakery. Very nice venue with a full bar!
