Very disappointed.. been going to this pub for years and today was the worst iv experienced. My 2 friends and I met for a catch up and we ordered a frankfurter wrapped in hash brown in a bun. It was dreadful the frankfurter was like a cheap hotdog and hash brown was like soggy mash .. it was unedible.
To be fair the staff and manager did refund this and ask if we wanted anything else which I refused but the other friend had a bacon sandwich , which had just been shown the griddle.
I do think this should be removed from the menu ,and possible a change in chef's.. but again the barman and manager was very nice .
I don't think we will return for food or our work Xmas lunch

Service was decent. Food was served promptly. Food was average though. But the chips were nice, well cooked and crispy. Wings were very weird. They had clearly been fried but had absolutely no colour to them. Look like they'd been boiled or something. It would be a better idea to toss the wings in the sauce to cover up how they look naked. They tasted ok though. The mixed grill was alright. Steak just seems to come well done however you ask for it. Overall it was ok but I wouldn't rush back. We also stayed in one of the rooms behind the pub. Well worth the money paid, room was dated in parts but clean. Tap in bathroom couldn't be turned off fully. Overall happy with the room but if I stayed again id just visit the pub for a bowl of chips and a pint. Can't complain about the staff or anything as there were plenty and everything was served quickly.
One thing that was good is they have a none containing gluten menu (I'm assuming they don't want to use the words gluten free because it's an open kitchen which is fair enough)

Stayed here for 2 nights while attending a wedding.

Room was good with a comfy bed. Water pressure in the shower wasn’t great.
But did the job for a couple of nights while at the wedding

A ramdom pit stop whilst passing in the area. We always like a Hungry Horse.
It was very quiet but food and service as we would expect! Building a bit tired inside and out. But we still enjoyed.

Although the hotel could do with a lick of paint I found it clean and comfortable, the room was very quiet so good night's sleep. The shower could have done with a bit more pressure but was adequate.
The greeting by the receptionist was very welcoming and every time I saw her she was bubbly and smiling. The breakfasts were very good.
I will stay here again.
