Went in for a pint after work with my girlfriend, was met by a woman behind the bar with the customer service ability of a brick wall. Ignored us greeting her, glared at us the entire time, the only thing said to us was ‘what do you want’ in a rude and disrespectful manner. Will not be coming back.

Food was excellent and o was the service. My husband had the fish and chips and asked for the fish lightly battered. It was beautiful. I had the lasagne and that was also lovely. We was served by Lucy who was very friendly. I would definitely recommend and would definitely return. Complements tother chef.

This pub is 2 minutes walk from the Premier Inn and there is more than adequate free car parking. We were very surprised and pleased by our visit to this lovely pub restaurant . The food and service were excellent and we really enjoyed our time. This has a lovely menu with a wide choice to meet all tastes.

Really nice pub/restaurant lovely staff and great portions, was served by Hannah and food cooked by Paul. (it’s a nice touch that they give you this info when requesting a review)
We had the cheese garlic flat bread (would be fine for four) which was great, then the beef sirloin roast with a side of cauliflower cheese, again lovely food (cauliflower was a little too cool for us, it rectified immediately, so all good)
It was our first time here, but will definitely come again. A wonderful experience, thanks .

The food and service of this lovely pub were absolutely first class. We all commented upon how amazing the Sunday roasts were and we would not hesitate to recommend to anyone. Our server, Hannah couldn't do enough for us. Our food was cooked by Paul so thank for you a lovely experience. Unfortunately, we cannot post a picture of our food because it was so nice that we ate it.

Went in and stood at bar for 5 mins with no staff behind bar. When they did emerge there was no "sorry to keep you waiting" or "will be with you in a minute". Looked at us like dirt and went off to serve someone else. Pubs are going to the wall every day then they treat customers like that. Keep it up. 👍

Not really a pub that draws you in on exterior appearance but a nice enough quite spacious interior and the lady server was more pleasant and appreciative of the trade than most. The pint I had was very enjoyable which made the cost of it worthwhile.. I was surprised how expensive the beer was considering the pub is opposite a cheap booze JD Wetherspoon pub.
When here today for a wake good service Plenty of food . Good service landlord was friendly and attentive.

Visited with my mother and brother, we stayed for about a hour. In that time, we were served by the wonderful Lindsay and our food cooked by Serif. We all shared starters and had our own main courses, coming to about £60, and I think it was worth every penny.
The restaurant is so quaint and wonderful, with comfy, cushy seats next to a log fire. Delightfully quiet and warm. Food was great, I can’t stress enough how nice of an afternoon we had. Thank you again for this

Had to fine somewhere to eat nearby to where I was staying over for work reasons. Glad I chose here. Service by Lindsay was great. Had the sausage and mash with seasonal greens. You can't usually go wrong with a Vintage Inn 😊

Absolutely shocking. What a dire rank pub. Vodka redbulll served in a pint glass..
Just awful place. Drink left on the bar, and moved onto a nicer establishment
Great little traditional pub serving well kept ale always. The pizzas are really lovely. Seperate drinking areas make for a range of ambiences. Nice beer garden to the rear. Friendly clientele.

Went for lunch our first time there. It was very busy, always a good sign! Our order was taken fairly quickly by lovely friendly staff. I ordered chicken forestiere, the chicken was a bit overdone & came on a bed of cabbage & fried new potatoes with a lovely mushroom sauce - very nice. My husband had steak & ale pie. It came with fresh veg & chips, he said it was excellent! It would have been 5 stars but for the chicken being overdone. Will definitely go again.

Quite disappointed as we've ate here about 6 times and at Xmas I had to send my burger back as it was raw and you kind of understand Xmas due to the restaurant being at full capacity but on Friday it was half full and it's the last time we will visit unfortunately. We were shown to our table and our drinks order was taken quickly but nobody came to take our food order so I asked a young lady and she came over. I asked for the steak and ribs with chubby chips, and I was 100% specific. Steak and ribs need to be well done. I explained I won't eat pink meat... This is a simple request. Unfortunately, my steak was pink, and the chips were under cooked they were pale, so I only ate half of a £19 meal. As I remained hungry, I ordered a dessert of sticky toffee pudding and ice cream. Oh my gosh, it was microwaved to an inch of its life and rock hard. I couldn't push my spoon into it. I called the waitress over and asked her if she could slice through the cake and her reply was "oh yer that's hard it's been left in too long, let me get you another one" which I quickly declined and asked for the sweet to be removed off the bill. Overall we are very disappointed and even though this is local we won't be returning sadly as it used to be great but not anymore. Inexperienced very young staff and poor delivery of food. No thanks

Called for lunch, we are not local. Was looking for a country pub, this is on an industrial estate but don’t let that fool you! Inside is beautiful, rustic and authentic. Service was fantastic from Niamh, and food was lovely. We had the lunch 2 course menu. Everything was fresh and very tasty. Plentiful portions, very good value for money.

Went for a spontaneous lunch with friends. Ordered a cheese and onion pie off the lite menu and it was delicious and a great size. Very friendly staff and reasonable price.
I have limited mobility and therefore couldn’t be to the main toilets which are down a set of stairs but there is an accessible toilet just outside the side doors. Nice decor and lots of parking.
Just moved into the area, overjoyed this place is 5mins walk away. Very welcoming staff and customers...I can see this being my new office...( if you know me you'll get that)...Ale in good condition and a nice relaxing atmosphere...excellent in my humble opinion.

OK. Hand on heart, we walked past earlier and it is a beautiful building. Thought it was a Greene King pub but apparently recently sold off. Jorvic and Madge expected a range of real ales. Only one available, which to be fair was very good. Inside has been gutted and had music blaring out for an almost empty pub. Not a place for old gits like me.

Over priced, small portions. Never had a curry like it! The puddings a big disappointment. One of our party had the chocolate brownie , which she said was very hard..I had "banoffee" Eton mess. Which was not an Eton mess at all. Which consisted of slices of banana, far too much cream, squares of chocolate cake??? and bits of meringue. They had run out of quite a few things on the menu, so bit disappointed. The staff were friendly, we did register our complaint upon paying. Won't rush back I'm afraid.

Very disappointed.. been going to this pub for years and today was the worst iv experienced. My 2 friends and I met for a catch up and we ordered a frankfurter wrapped in hash brown in a bun. It was dreadful the frankfurter was like a cheap hotdog and hash brown was like soggy mash .. it was unedible.
To be fair the staff and manager did refund this and ask if we wanted anything else which I refused but the other friend had a bacon sandwich , which had just been shown the griddle.
I do think this should be removed from the menu ,and possible a change in chef's.. but again the barman and manager was very nice .
I don't think we will return for food or our work Xmas lunch

Service was decent. Food was served promptly. Food was average though. But the chips were nice, well cooked and crispy. Wings were very weird. They had clearly been fried but had absolutely no colour to them. Look like they'd been boiled or something. It would be a better idea to toss the wings in the sauce to cover up how they look naked. They tasted ok though. The mixed grill was alright. Steak just seems to come well done however you ask for it. Overall it was ok but I wouldn't rush back. We also stayed in one of the rooms behind the pub. Well worth the money paid, room was dated in parts but clean. Tap in bathroom couldn't be turned off fully. Overall happy with the room but if I stayed again id just visit the pub for a bowl of chips and a pint. Can't complain about the staff or anything as there were plenty and everything was served quickly.
One thing that was good is they have a none containing gluten menu (I'm assuming they don't want to use the words gluten free because it's an open kitchen which is fair enough)

Made to feel uncomfortable by the small number of ‘regulars’ already in there when we arrived, who were clearly very friendly with the staff/owners. Landlady or other family member came down in her dressing gown at 2pm in the afternoon. Some ‘regulars’ openly stared at us and made comments to each other, whilst others openly effed and jeffed to their heart’s content with the obvious consent of the staff. These guys obviously prefer having the pub to themselves and their own little clique. For me, they can have it. Won’t be back.

We enjoy going here and thought it a great place to celebrate two bits of family news. It was very busy tonight -(Friday)- and we had to wait for longer than we thought reasonable. Didn’t have my favourite starter & chips were very pale. We spoke to the waitress & she informed the manager who was prompt in coming to see us. Although she maintained that it was a reasonable wait for food on a Friday night, she accepted that it was a long time before we had our order taken. The issue was resolved quickly & fairly. She was very apologetic. Great customer service given, just a shame about the food & tonight’s waiting time. It hasn’t put us off going again.

Although the hotel could do with a lick of paint I found it clean and comfortable, the room was very quiet so good night's sleep. The shower could have done with a bit more pressure but was adequate.

I had been after coming here for a little while and yesterday I finally got the chance.

Can't say I was overly impressed with the foods or the vegetarian/vegan options. I did have the Heystack Burger (vegan) it was slightly overdone but otherwise was quiet nice.

Staff were really good though and very attentive.

If you are vegan/vegetarian they do use (fake or not) dead animals to decorate the place.
Great Sunday lunch today. We will be back! Excellent service, great tasting food!

We’ve been coming to the Yew Tree for around a decade, it’s great to see home made food and a welcoming environment - that also allows dogs! It was very busy, which is wonderful to see. We need to keep supporting businesses.
The portions are very generous, we had to both ask for ‘doggy bags’ to bring half our food home, which just means we will be able to enjoy it all over again.
The staff were lovely, the gentleman who served us was excellent, he was very helpful with any queries we had however he definitely undersold just quite how big the portions are for the value. See you again soon.

1 or 2 problems but Jane the receptionist managed to sort out she was fantastic so we will definitely be going back hope Jane got the flowers we left at reception as she wasn't due on till 2 o'clock as we booked out after breakfast.
Been here twice now. First time was really nice. We played pool outside with the kids and had cocktails and cider. The staff were really friendly and it was a nice afternoon out. Second time we went for food but the atmosphere was totally different. Not family friendly really. Lots of drunk men and colourful language so not appropriate for kids. I was hoping early afternoon was going to be ok. I'd suggest it's more of a sports bar type set up.

Not changed much since I went in 20yrs ago! Which is a good thing. Went to see band Ruff Kutz who were awesome 🤟
Was glad to see pool table still there in same place, I like that the pub is kinda separated into two parts, the seating area near window & with pool table, then the rest open with space for bands to perform.
It's not huge space there so if you're by the speakers your ears might be ringing lol but it has a fab cosy atmosphere & staff all were great. Quick service at the bar. Loved it!

What a great find this place is. We arrived unannounced from the leisure lakes facility for some lunch on an out of season wet Monday to find Legh Arms vibrant and busy. We were shown to our table and offered an amazing and diverse menu by the caring and respectful staff. The table was comfortable and warm on for our winter visit.

When the food arrived it was fabulous. Choices went beyond typical pub grub and was genuine restaurant quality.

We enjoyed our time so much that when finished we retired to the lounge and enjoyed a few more ‘pub style’ drinks which included cask ales , wine and spirits

Plenty of comfortable seating with a mix of benches, sofas, and comfortable armchairs (the one by the open fire is my favourite) with a well stocked bar with efficient and helpful staff, and also it's not overly loud.

Fantastic local pub based in the city centre. Very difficult to find this kind of pub these days. Everyone is friendly and welcoming from the moment you enter. They have a great range of drinks, from real ale to Guinness to a large selection of draught lagers to ciders.

The top shelf selection here is beyond anything else you find in other places. If you want it this place has it! Prices are as expected for a city centre pub although they have so many offers on you will always find a great deal.

On friday and Saturday nights they have bands on every single week. I have not seen an atmosphere in a pub like this since before the dreaded lockdown and longer.

There is also an outside seating area to the back. Which has lots of outside seating.

Overall a fantastic place to visit.

Lovely food lovely staff. Very helpful, shown to our table straight away. Took a while for the food to arrive after our starter, but the place was really busy for a Monday! Apparently like this most of the time so please book.

We both had steak sandwich which was perfectly cooked and not chewy at all. I has the blue cheese sauce just enough. (Picture doesnt look great but) The fish n chips were very nice too. We had pate and scotch egg for starter they were amazing.

Definitely visit again if I'm in the area.
Had a lovely meal last week.
The place inside was lovely.
The staff were welcoming & polite.
We had drinks sat in a quiet part of the pub until we could be seated in the dining area.
So nice to have a chat & drink🍹🍺 in a lovely country pub in front of an open fire.
When were ready to eat the table seating was very nice real flowers in the vase & a antique candletick holder with candle lit.
Have to say was very romantic.💘🌹
The food was amazing (Fish & Chips) complements to the chef.😋
The waitresses were lovely & could not of been more helpful & professional.
Cannot wait for our next visit.🍷🍷🍽🍽🥂😉👍
Great place for a pint. Friendly and helpful staff who seem to be covid aware. Good selection of ales and spirits at reasonable prices for Preston. Quite a nice seating area out back if the weather's fine. Clean and fresh toilets. ☆☆☆☆☆
My husband & myself visited The Black Bull of Pewortham for a relaxing drink & were greeted by friendly staff from the onset. We registered with, Track & Trace in the doorway entrance then once inside this quaint little bar, we were asked to show we had registered with Track & Trace then shown to our socially distanced table where we were told a member of staff would be over to take our orders soon. We felt very safe, the bar was extremely clean & very warm & cosy indeed. Hand sanatiser is available on every table. The landlord/landlady were very cheerful & continually checked we had everything we needed. On using the washrooms, the landlord/landlady checked mens/ladies washrooms to makesure no-one else was in so they were socially distanced safe to use. There is a large beer garden to the rear of the bar which has a small, heated covered smoking area & a larger open area with plentiful benches, again, socially distanced. The beer garden is very colourful & inviting. The prices are very reasonable & I must say, if you get the chance, definitely worth a visit!

Went to this venue early Sunday evening to see our friend who was singing there. The venue has a very large car park. The landlady and staff were lovely and friendly and you were made to feel welcome. The landladys lovely mum went out of her way to make my wife a cup of tea. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening and will be going back again. Suggest you give it a try you won't be disappointed.

This pub has a wonderful atmosphere and a warm welcome from the moment that you walk in. This drinks are reasonably priced, considering most places these days. The décor is rather modern. The only thing that lets this place down is the state of repair that the toilets are currently in, however, as these are toilets, I am not going to let this reduce my rating of this place

Visited this pub whilst staying over on business. Called in midweek with just enough time for a couple of pints. Couldn't have been made more welcome by either the staff or by the locals. Great atmosphere, superb music choice, great beer and a proper English boozer. I own a pub and can honestly say this was top drawer.
Didn't eat here, good atmosphere, got charged 3 different prices for same drinks.

Was having a lovely early evening drink with my neighbours until I was asked to leave because I was wearing shorts!!!.....apparently young men in shorts had been causing trouble earlier!!!! I'm nearly 50. Doorman was ever so polite about this, but unfortunately myself and my friends will not be returning here. Which is a pity as it seemed a really nice place. Need to clean the gents more often as there was a really bad smell of urine.

Best pub in preston, landladies and staff are very welcoming and friendly. Beer prices are cheap and karaoke most nights! Definitely a fun local pub with a great atmosphere. Beats all the chain pubs in preston hands down! Highly highly recommend for a visit! Once you pop your Golden Cross cherry you will be back for more!!
Lovely pub with great beer, very busy on the weekend especially. The garden out the back is a lovely haven, a real hidden gem. It's a shame children aren't allowed as we can't visit as a family.
