The Wheatsheaf

We have dined here before and really enjoyed our meal. However this time it really did disappoint us. The photo shows what was advertised as lamb burger, however the actual meat was more than poor and totally tasteless. To disguise the taste of the burger this was served with heaps of dressing. Such a let down to the kitchen. We did report this but little was offered except a complimentary drink. A lack of customer service also on behalf on the duty manager.

The food was good as you can see. I did ask for a change with mine due to an allergy this was not listened too and was even told that it was fine! When it was given without items that i am allergic too, it was lovely I had a sandwich. The place was packed and the staff were run off their feet but when they came to the table they were lovely. It was a little chilly so many kept their coats on. I would return again but in the summer

Very nice Sunday Lunch. Large portions. Served with mustard and horseradish on the side. Nice ice cream to finish

Fantastic food and service. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience there. A real proper country pub with very good food and a wide selection of ales, spirits and wines. Thank you.

Tucked away in the lovely village of Croston the Wheatsheah was well worth the drive.
Menu, service and excellent food on a lovely summers day in the beer garden, what more could you want ??

Stunning food, could not fault!

Lovely Pub in the heart of the picturesque village of Croston. The meals were well priced. I had the burger and fries, which was a well proportioned, very tasty meal. Great setting, with good parking, and delightful outdoor seating area.
