Got served quickly in a lovely old pub with loads of history. Me and my friend had 2 different cask ales. My friend had Timothy Taylors, it wasn't good. It was fizzy and not creamy like cask should be. I had the Nelson pale ale, it was worse, it was sour and I think had been on for over a week. About £8.80 for 2 pints of undrinkable beer. This pub relys heavily on Lager drinkers and food sales.
Looking around the bar it's definitely a lager drinkers pub, such a shame in such a beautiful building.
If you are a real ale fan go to the Black Horse around the corner, similar age pub, the beer is brilliant and £6.60 for 2 pints of excellent beer.

Called in whilst on a (motor) bike ride with my lad. Reasonably busy for early Saturday afternoon. Nice snug atmosphere, warm welcome and a cold crisp pint. Sat outdoors and had a natter with the locals..... will be calling in again.
