Wonderful staff. Great place for a bday party. Wonderful comfy seats, good food, popcorn and drink selection.

Historic Port Theater on #PCH in Corona Del Mar, California. Originally opened in 1949. this landmark independent theater was closed in 1998 and reopened in 2012 as The New Port Theater, complete with luxury seating & wine bar. Terrific place to see a film.

We were at a private event so this may not be a fair comparison to normal activities. The charcuterie board was not available. I didn’t try the pizza but most of the people around me did not eat even half of their pie so that was suspicious. Popcorn is dry. No butter-like toppings to be had. Had a Tito martini and it seemed watered down. The screen is clear but there are HUGE cob webs dangling from the lights and ceiling in front. I joked that it looked like they are ready for Halloween.

If you are looking to rent this venue, I HIGHLY suggest you look elsewhere. We had our first walk through with Celina in 8/2022 (with our event stated for 7/2023) and after seeing the space and discussing our needs, were given an agreeable estimate. Email communications continued with Celina throughout 8/2022 and we were given permission to postpone a down payment at the time. Fast forward to March 2023 and we emailed Celina asking for directions to pay our deposit. They kept trying to upsell us more time in the venue, which we did not need. We just had our second walk through 5/17/23 with Kristi and she confirmed everything from our initial quote minus a change to seating costs (adjusted for more seats). There was NO change to our event whatsoever besides the seating arrangement. Today, 5/18/23, we were just sent a NEW quote from Steve (Port Management Theater) where the grand total ballooned from $5,912.88 to $19,200.76!!! We have 2 months until our event, and we have been blindsided. This business will take advantage of the opportunity at hand... changing a price at the 11th hour when most other venues are already rented and reserved is outragous and an egregious way to conduct business. I have email proof of all the above and will gladly send it along to anyone in need.

We had an amazing experience at the Port Theatre with a recently held screening event. The theatre itself is beautiful and the staff was so helpful and supportive during the planning process. They helped make everything go seamlessly. Overall, an amazing experience for both our staff and our guests!

So cool. Feels like an old movie house of the 50s… or the 90s before everywhere upgraded to stadium seating. This place has fun themed drinks matching the movie (Top Gun had the Gin & Goose? Or was it the Gray Goose Martini? That last one isn’t original but this name was so I’m at a loss) and solid snacks. It feels like it doesn’t fit with the modern, “best of the best” of Newport, and that is exactly why I love it.

A family favorite in my hometown! Definitely go! Good beer and wine, really comfy seats, great theater experience overall always.
